The first day of the Paragon Institute. It was an important day, for staff and students alike; after all, it wasn't every day that you were put in charge of shaping young people's minds. Another man might have worried about such responsibility, but Paragon's principal had no such qualms. Indeed, such a job was almost like a gift from God, answering all of his prayers and freeing him from the recent trouble he'd landed himself in.
The students would file into the auditorium, which was easily much larger than Hircine's; a subtle sign of Paragon's perceived superiority. What they might find interesting, however, would be that very few of the teachers were dressed in formal attire, contrasting the upper class decor. Those who attended this institute had been specifically chosen whether they knew it or not, as the vast majority had violent tendencies and abnormal behaviours. Despite this reputation, even the rowdiest of students would begin to settle down, and once the chatter had begun to die down, the principal would walk through the stage entrance.
In the same vein as most of the teachers, his clothes were casual, simply a dark t-shirt and jean jacket with black jeans covering his legs. His long dark hair fell about his shoulders, parting to expose his face, where a lit cigarette lay between his lips. His olive-green eyes would roam across the crowd once he reached the podium, leaning against the expensive wood to bring his mouth close to the microphone. After a moment or two to allow the students to stop talking completely, his normally quiet voice would fill the room, amplified by the sound system.
"Students of the Paragon Institute, today marks a new beginning for us all. Allow me to be blunt with you: things will be very different here from what you are used to. Many of you are among the most troubled cases this city has ever seen. However, our staff has no intentions of reforming you to the standards of your previous institutions. No, instead, here you will learn to embrace it."
The principal would pause for a moment, allowing his words to sink in. Even for a hardened student of the system, having a member of authority on their side would throw anyone for a loop.
"Here, you will be encouraged to show your true nature. This will be the perfect environment for the strong to grow and thrive, while the weak wither and fail. You will be encouraged to succeed or fail on your own, taking any advantages that you are able to find, even if they come at the expense of another student. After all, in Paragon, mercy is weakness. Also, school pride is left up to you students on an individual level. If you have the desire to prove your worth compared to other schools, you are more than welcome to."
Once the principal finished his short speech, he would remain where he was, listening for the crowd's responses. If they were receptive, things would progress much faster. If not, he would need to force events into action.

Things have really changed.
Rewinding back to the beginning, Tiao Lei Shen had been a rebellious, loud mouthed youth. Picking fights with anyone and everyone, Tiao was an unpredicatble force. Then came Darren Blayne. It was him, not Tiao, who had come out of nowhere. Tiao was the most likely candidate to take School Captain out of Jordan Nash's hands, but Darren had come from nowhere, sweeping in and taking the title. Naturally, Tiao was infuriated and went for it against Darren instead. He didn't get the title he sought out, but he had gotten so much more.
Tiao was made the first pillar under Darren Blayne, giving the Tiger of Hircine a purpose. No longer was Tiao this explosive energy, but a directed power. Through Darren's guidance, Tiao was able to help efficiently clean up Hircine High faster than Darren had ever anticipated. Of course, that didn't last with the Varron transfers. They made a mess of things, and even though Tiao held little against them now, they are the reason things have gotten as far as they have now.
The experiences at Hircine in the past year had changed Tiao even more. He was no longer fun-loving, looking for thrills. He was bitter, and it showed. Though perhaps still a bit arrogant, Tiao didn't gloat nor boast. Uprisings from Leon Loire, rebellions from Stern Mason, MacMillan and his Watchers, Revelation...they had all left Tiao with bitter tastes, and they certainly hadn't mixed well with the recent more personal events that had happened with Valencia. A School Pillar he was no longer, nor did the title of Tiger of Hircine exactly apply anymore. No, Tiao was very much different now, and it showed.
Tiao Lei Shen leaned back in his auditorium seat, placing his sneakered feet on the seat above him. Besides Nathan next to him, it would be hard for anyone to recognize him if they had seen him before. He no longer sported his Hircine Ballcap or his urban chinese garbs. No, it was now a simple pair of jeans with T-shirts and a green jacket. No longer bounded by braids, Tiao's hair fell down just above his shoulders, his bangs falling in front of his eyes.
Tiao stared off into nothingness as the Principal for this new high school spoke. His expression looked like one of boredom, but it was quite the opposite. With every word that came out of Principal Davis' mouth, was another word Tiao hated to hear. To him, it all sounded like another Principal would be needing to get his neck stomped on. However, once he was finished speaking, it began to seem like Tiao was the only one in the room who thought so. It started with rumors, then broke into shouts and cheers.
Without moving his head, Tiao's eyes slowly gazed over other faces in the room, attempting to recognize other faces to no avail. Instead, he began to observe some of their behaviors, and all in all, Tiao concluded he was not going to like it here. Though some people looked concerned, most of the students in the room seemed pleased in one form of the other. Some sat with unpleasant smirks, and some jumped up and shouted praise. With behavior like this already, Tiao could only imagine how things would be once they actually got encouragement to act like, well, how he used to act.
"Tch."

Damien watched as the kids around him stood, praising this new authority. To Damien, thats all the man was. An authority. he would need, one way or another, a way to flex his muscles, to keep control, to make sure the students did what they were told. Damien could already see it. Some poor chump rising up to be school captain in order to "keep the peace". While Damien wanted the peace kept, he didn't want to see the school captain-ship of even a brand new place to be defiled with some lapdog for the principal.
Damien had come to Hircine in order to get a higher form of education, or so he said. His real underlying motives, like most who thought themselves worthy had, was the Title of School Captain. How he had planned on taking the title at Hircine, he didn't know, since it was already wrapped up in the greedy hands of some high-school gang. But, in being transfered to a new school, with a new name, and a clean slate, it gave Damien the opportunity he was waiting for.
Damien was, unlike most the people in this room, a very intelligent man. And he knew when opportunity was shone. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a cigarette as he watched the kids around him cheer on the principals words. Looking to his right, he noticed a former pillar, whose name he hadn't the time or the interest to learn, but he appeared to be strong, and, judging by the way he held himself, could probably kick some ass.
It was also rumored that some of revelation would be transfered here. A Group Damien was most interested in meeting. Not to join. No, anything but join. I guess you could say he wanted to see what all the fuss was about. And if they were even worth the time or energy that had been spent on them in the past year.
Damien took a long drag from his cig, opening his mouth and letting the smoke leave of its own free will.
This was going to be an interesting year.

He took a look around the auditorium, it's similarities to his last high school were remarkable. The same seating arrangements, though the colors differed slightly. The stage lined the far wall and the backdrop couldn't have been any more perfect for the occasion. It singled out the Principal quite well.
Rhis couldn't make much out of the man, though, it was due to his preferred choice in seating. He had opted to sit in the back. It afforded him many things, one was that the mob mentality of everyone else, would easily overlook him in favor for people sitting in 'better seats,' deemed so by upper class men. He wouldn't have to 'prove' himself just yet; and he could play off of his own rules.
It also afforded himself the opportunity to look as meager as possible. He knew he stuck out like a sore thumb; his green hair, partially covering his right eye, and his skinny frame would peg him out as one of the 'weaker' students. Oh how he wished that were so. He would show them all that attacking one without prior knowledge would be very foolish.
Listening intently, despite the chatter in the back few rows, he heard something that his ears picked up. He strained to hear the complete speech, but managed to grasp it all. 'So that's how this place is going to be. Let the students run rampant. But for what reason, what purpose?' If he had any intention on following through with those thoughts, he let it go for now. This school was going to afford him what he'd always want to do, but was otherwise unable to because of his mother.
He did have one concern. One that would nag him for quite some time. 'How am I going to play off the nice guy act. It won't work here.' He had, in his own opinion, done quite well to establish himself as a nice guy to any audience that would believe him. 'The real question is do I want to continue with that, or just create confusion from the beginning?' He left himself lost in his own thoughts, his eyes scanning the crowd for those that looked to be of a higher caliber than the rest of the street punks. The school itself would establish the pecking order, and Rhis would be there to tear at it's supports until it crumbled.

Zack walked into the auditorium hoping to find anyone he recognised that he could sit next to. There was nobody. Deciding to sit near the middle rom on the far right the gathering of students soon calmed down and someone stepped onto the stage. ~I guess he is the principal or something... Doesnt look like one though.~ Zack thought to himself, he took a glance around the auditorium and noticed that there were other people, looking like teachers, but not dressed as such scattered around. ~This place is weird.~ Was the last though Zack had before the principal started speaking.
His speech was somewhat short, but had a massive impact on the students. Zack rose from his seat, but not to cheer and praise what was just said. No, Zack's face had a shocked expression on it. Zack looked around again too see if anyone here was like him, and by that he meant anyone that wasnt cheering. There were a few but not many, Tiao was not very far away from Zack so he was the most noticeable. ~I'm a deadman.~ Zack thought as the cheering got louder. ~This is gonna be a bad place for me... I need a plan.~ Zack slumped back into his chair and signed allowing everything that was just said to sink in completely.

Dante slumped down in one of the chairs in around the middle of the auditorium. He was wearing a simple black t-shirt, torn jeans, and a pair of Converse. So, Dante thought, trying to take it all in, this'll be, what? The fourth high school I've been to? Though Dante has changed considerably since arriving both at Varron and at Hircine.
When Dante first went to Varron, as short of a time that was, Dante thought he could solve every one of his problems by fighting, and that the the ends justified the means, no matter what happened. When he arrived at Hircine, he wasn't any different, except now, he was just hopelessly naive and not only did he feel invincible, he also thought that everything would work out in the end for him, no matter which actions he took. But since he arrived at Hircine, he saw things, things he would give anything to unsee, to be back to his old, completely oblivious self.
He now matured, and knew how the world was, and while he wasn't as depressed as he was after Rebecca had left him, good thing that the fight with Sedrix had snapped him out of his manic phase, but even after the fight with his oldest friend at Hircine, Dante could never change back to his old, completely optimistic and happy go-lucky self. On the topic of Sedrix... Dante thought, it's a shame he had to go back to England to take care of his mom, just like...Rebecca...
Though he was happier than he was before, he was more world-weary. "God dammit," Dante chuckled, "I'm only a Junior, I shouldn't feel so freakin' old..." He looked around and saw if he could notice some familiar faces. He looked around and saw Nathan, the former Hircine Pillar and the man with whom he'd had two unfinished fights with, and right next to his old acquaintance he saw his biggest rival, and yet also the man he felt he could only get self worth and redemption from: Tiao Lei Shen. Though it would be hard to notice him, he seemed less...happy, or at least a lot more apathetic. He didn't even have his earlier attire of his ponytail, cap, and pair of Chinese pants, now he just looked like your normal teenager.
He looked away from him for a second to pay attention to his new principal, David or Davis or something. Dante was surprised, he was so used to MacMillan and his formal attire that he wasn't expecting such a casual-looking Principal. Hey... Dante thought, this guy may not be half bad...well, not as bad as MacMillan anyway.
But then the new Principal actually talked. When he was done speaking with his short, yet impacting speech, Dante was shocked at first, and didn't know what the hell to say. Letting the strong 'grow and thrive'? Embracing the troubled? What the hell is going on? He's just going to let half of these nutjobs kill each other without consequence? And I don't even want to know how the relationship between here and Hircine is going to be...Dammit! I can't handle seeing any one else dead or seriously hurt, or losing someone I love again!
He finally found his words, "We can't just let these students fight without consequence! People will get hurt, and it'll just end up in chaos! Letting the strong, or at least the dangerously violent rule the school will only end up badly!" Only when Dante was done speaking was when he had realized what he'd said. Dammit, Dante thought, You should've waited until later to start saying something, not while the freaking principal can hear! He looked around and also noticed that some of his fellow students were glaring at him with hatred for protesting the Principal's decree.

Post by Aden Allett on May 3, 2008 1:35:41 GMT 1
Aden made his way into the auditorium, taking a quick look from left and right. The room was easily larger than Hircine’s own, leaving Aden to only find other reasons to enjoy being transferred. Many students that had been moved from their old school to the new were angry and rebellious with the situation, but not Aden. No, he embraced it. Hircine was fine, but without the Principle or the Watchers, what was there to do? Paragon was a new, clean slate for everyone sent there and it left nothing, but opportunity.
He walked up to an empty seat beside another man in what Aden would consider ratty clothes. Torn jeans and a black T-shirt? Cliché if anything. Aden rolled his eyes and took the seat. Wearing his orange shirt with his dog tag accessory and a pair of blue jeans and sneakers, he found himself faced with a larger group of people as time went on. The school already seemed to be full of students as one after another found their way to the auditorium. He merely sat, waiting for the speech to begin.
The speech began and Aden liked what he heard. He wasn’t a particularly bad person; he just liked to have fun. If the staff didn’t want to reform them, it only meant they would be left with a lot of conflict. Aden wanted to be part of that, most definitely. It was much better than the quiet life he had found creeping up behind him at Hircine. This school was his savior. Embracing bad behavior would definitely cause it to show.
They were to fend on their own. Yes, the teachers would teach, but they also made it sound like a type of no rules environment. With a system like that, it was logical for them to think that only the strong would survive, and Aden had to agree. The final line about school pride could only make Aden smirk. They were Hircine’s rivals now, meaning there was a chance of potential, school vs. school conflict.
It was the man beside him that began to speak, surprising Aden slightly as he turn to listen. His preaching agitated Aden, causing annoyance. In a school like this, there wasn’t room for the weak minded who thought it was the goal for everyone to love each other and get along. The world didn’t work that way and neither did the school. All he was doing was ruining the others fun.
He addressed the man, still sitting in the seat as he spoke. “So tell us, what is it you plan to do? In case you weren’t listing properly, this is a school for survival. Rather than trying to get along with everyone why don’t you go and do something? It should be obvious that the only way to get things done in this school will be by force.”
Others were glaring at the man as well and a few eyes fell on Aden. There were others thinking as he did, meaning they would most likely want a piece of the ‘goody-goody’ as well, but if this guy was planning on ruining the little fun Aden had, then someone had to shut him up for a while. If it came to that, Aden would be the one to do it.

Kerry seemed to arrive around the same time as the bulk of students, a simple short black skirt and a white long sleeved shirt with no tie and un-tucked from the waist of her skirt. stepping into the room she could already see from the people that resided within it that this was likely to be an interesting ride however she would remain quiet as always for now, although, a new school meant new opportunity. Picking a seat nearer to the back of the auditorium she would casually sit down, crossing her legs slowly one over the other as she were to sit down, her eyes focusing up at the stage from which the principle had made his way too, her eyes catching the gaze of the few that sat around her but shrugging them off as she remained focused on what the man had to say.
'This had better be interesting, if this turns out to be some lame speech I'm just gunna walk out'
she thought to herself as she continued to eye the stage. Finally once all had seemed to calm and become seated the principle would openly begin to make his speech.
'Hmm, learn to embrace it, what an interesting theory, but I'm quite sure its not the failure side of most of this people he is wanting to be embraced I'm sure.'[/color]
Her mind contemplated in response to the short yet sweet introduction of this man's speech, her eyes playing close attention to his positive body language and yet still keeping in close watch those around her, keeping her thoughts to herself unlike some that had already begun muttering she would again remain quiet, inconspicuous and unknown.
A soft chuckle would escape her...
'Survival of the fittest hm, so its conflict you want us to embrace, the competitive state of survival to enhance ourselves. You know that will only lead to one thing and one thing only, violence. seems I made the right choice in moving here, what better place to better my self in a place that thrives off of that very competitive nature'
Tilting her head gently to the side, her cheek a rest on her shoulder her red nailed fingers would slowly stroke themselves around the fabric rim of her high socks, slowly curving around the arc of her smooth legs as she closed her eyes with a smile at the muttering groups and let alone, she didn't even need her eyes to be open to witness the smiling groups of people, the idea's coming into the minds of those good for nothings, thinking they can become something through fighting the very situation making what was to happen all that more... Noble? Consiounce doesn't play a part when its in self defense, this would be a perfect opportunity after all.
"We can't just let these students fight without consequence! People will get hurt, and it'll just end up in chaos! Letting the strong, or at least the dangerously violent rule the school will only end up badly!"
Kerry's eyes would suddenly open, those hazel globes pointing sharply in the origin from which they came, biting her lip softly as she contained a slight chuckle, "Ouch.." she would remark coherently through the muffled silence of murmurs and general whispering through out the room, in an obvious response to his comment. After giving a subtle shrug she would yawn loudly, stretching her arms out behind her and leaning backwards on the chair so that it tilted onto its hind legs for a mere moment before resting it back down to carefully rub her eyes, minding her delicately applied eye shadow and mascara with a slight smirk on her lips.

Post by kuni on May 3, 2008 4:20:58 GMT 1
For the first few minutes of being in the auditorium, Kunioku felt uncomfortable. No matter how tough you were, ostracizing effected you sooner or later. It wasn't exactly ostracizing, of course, as most people talked to others very little on their first day. It was more that Kunioku felt out of place. Back in Kyoto, he was the king, the daimyo of his own school. Right now, he was just another face in this foreign place. A room full of Americans was somewhat disheartening.
Of course, all this was only for the first few minutes.
It didn't take long for Kuni to sprawl himself in his seat. He kicked his feet up, bending his leg over the seats at the knee as he placed his feet on the empty cushions in front of him. His arms outstretched to the seats around him, his shoulders shrugging up almost all the way to his head as he slouched in the seat. Kuni yawned, his body wanting to take a nap from the jetlag of the flight. However, when the Principal came on stage Kuni both sat and perked up, having to concentrate hard to understand all the English words spoken.
Kunioku smirked, as he understood the words. Not only was he pleased in his own english comprehension, but what was being spoken was the same of what he was promised when he accepted the foreign exchange offer. There were alot of shouts and yells, but one that stood out in particular. It was different than all the other shouts, as this one was in protest. It was then Kuni came upon the realization that he wasn't the fish out of water. The one who spoke of peace and order, was.
"Hai..." Kuni said as he stood up from his seat, slowly. It wasn't a shout, but his thick japanese accent carried his voice very deeply throughout the room, causing most gazes to go towards him.
"Be quiet, he is right. If students are permitted to do whatever they want, someone will get hurt. Someone...like this."
As Kuni finished speaking, he suddenly pivoted towards the seats in front of him, slamming his elbow down upon the top of someone's head. The sharp bone instantly drew blood, and the person fell to the ground clutching their head. Kunioku looked to the stage, only to see the staff hadn't done anything. It seemed they were telling the truth, and such actions were without consequence. Smirking now, Kuni turned back to look at the one who had spoken up first.
"I suggest you permit me, dog, or you will be someone like him too."

Post by Nathan Branigan on May 3, 2008 4:29:49 GMT 1
Nathan Branigan was by definition a nice person. He kept on most people's good side, stayed out of your way, and was generally polite. So his distress at being transferred to a school of 'not so nice' people was understandable. He was not, however, a weakling. Given a stray insult, he would pounce at the offender without a second look. This seemed like it would help him, but it may actually make things worse. In a school of 'undesirables', those things were bound to happen. So to spite his kind nature, he was relieved at his new principle's "unconventional" methods. He would be able to do anything at his own will, and not get in trouble with The System. This school was in a way both the best and the worst thing for Nathan.
Nathan would not be in this school alone. Tiao Lei Shen had also transferred giving him that extra pair of fists to watch out for him...and vice versa. He was standing next to Tiao, never keeping his eyes off the principal. "By the way Tiao, this school is like a prison. So we basically either have to kick someone's ass the first day...or become somebody's bitch. I'm not a bitch so that only leaves the one option". He said to Tiao in a joking manner, yet slightly serious for once. "Seems like it'll be easy anyway, since the principal approves" he now turned to face Tiao. "What do you think?"
It was about that time he heard a student speak out against the principle's ideals. Nathan immediately recognized it as Dante Williams, a nice kid, but kind of naive for Nathan. Dante was the one nice guy in a room of delinquents, He would not have an easy time at Paragon. "Well, so much for Dante" he laughed.

Post by Tiao Lei Shen on May 3, 2008 5:01:48 GMT 1
Tiao Lei Shen continued to look around until his former fellow pillar spoke up. As he talked Tiao kept his gaze forward, once again showing no outward sign that he was listening. Regardless, Nathan kept talking. Nathan had gotten to know Tiao decently well in the recent days, possibly giving him the most insight on him other than Darren, or perhaps Valencia. That insight could have let Nathan know that Tiao was listening even though he pretended not to...that, or Nathan talked whether anyone was listening or not. Probably both. Perhaps more of the latter.
When Nathan finished his question he turned to look at Tiao. Knowing he expected an answer, Tiao turned his head a few seconds later. His gaze still hadn't changed. Tiao peered into Nathan's eyes with the same apathetic and somewhat annoyed look he had worn all day. He held the look for another half dozen seconds before turning his head back towards the front, leaving Nathan without verbal reply.
Soon enough, another voice spoke up, though this one was familiar. Tiao shifted in his seat, turning to look at who had spoken. It was the first Varron student who challenged him for his title, as well as the student who held the record for the single most brutal injuries left by Tiao at Hircine High, and that was quite a bar to be the top of. Tiao couldn't remember all the details, but he recalled he had broken one leg severely, possibly another ankle, as well as his nose, shoulder, wrist and elbow.
Williams.
Tiao growled very quietly, clenching his teeth as he looked at Dante. He had beat the kid to a pulp, then befriended him, only to have the utmost disrespect shown by him later. All in all, it was very miniscule in comparison to everything else that had happened to Tiao. However, mixed with his overall apathy, Tiao didn't have any compassion or worry for Dante when he was scolded by the kid next to him, or threatened by the japanese kid. Nathan noticed it too, and of course, verbalized his opinion on the matter.
"...You're both idiots." Tiao trailed off, looking at Nathan with the same gaze a moment before turning back in his seat and staring forward once again.

Mae-Lim's eyes never left the stage, her mind working along, dropping random little comments like "Our principal looks like a nutjob" or "the kid next to me smells funny". At any rate, she'd already become a little annoyed with her surroundings, all the yelling giving her a headache and that just meant she'd need to hurt someone...and stinky next to her was top on the list.
She was sitting at the very back, preferring to have everything in her sights. Oh and at least this way she was a tad closer to the doors. You know...just in case some form of re-inactment of a particular day happened. Considering how crazy this place was already, she supposed that it wouldn't be too weird to see a riot. 'I didn't want to be transfered.' she thought. And you know, she kind of fit in here, but, that detail didn't matter. In fact, when the Principal had stated they were troubled cases, Mae-Lim had simply muttered: "I'm not a troubled case...".
But who was SHE kidding?
Not surprising, someone decided to voice their opinions then. There was always one, right? And he was it. And then someone else spoke against him and then someone against him...who then knocked someone out. Mae-Lim rolled her eyes before leaning back on her chair. There you had it. The violence already. Maybe the fact she had a headache kept her from enjoying this, but, she was getting frustrated. Too much talking.
"This is my new school..." she muttered. "Hrrraaa....it's going to be a fuckin' long year." She scratched her head before looking back towards the Principal, curious as to his reaction to all this hubub. Unlike everyone else, she wasn't all that interested to see who was here that she MAY recognize. As far as she knew, through the million text messages of frowning faces and "Lyke omg's" Aina had sent her, Mae-Lim's "BFF" wasn't going to be here to torment her. Which was a good thing. But how had that blonde girl fetched her number? She had probably stolen Mae's cell when she wasn't looking and got her number that way...
Unfortunately, Logan wasn't going to be here either. This fact saddened her a bit, as, despite being her personal punching bag, she really did care for the guy. Like a little brother. 'At least he won't have to get the crap beat out of him here. But now I need a new sidekick...or travel buddy' In a school like this, what were the chances? She supposed she'd just need to find someone to hang around then. Not knowing who else was transferred sort of was a pain in the end.
Her cellphone Vibrated. Mae-Lim flipped open her cell and took a look at the message. "Like, omg! I can't believe this!! ='[!!!!!!" Mae simply groaned. Maybe Aina would be able to torment her afterall...

Damien continued to watch the stage as the cheering went on. He had long ago finished his smoke, and was beginning to grow bored with the cheering. His eyes did snap to attention, though, when a young man stood and openly protested the means by which the principal was going to keep the school in check. His gaze drifted to the young man, eyes flicking over his frame, taking a quick judge of his character. While Damien may hold slightly indifferent views, this boys situation was obviously hopeless, and Damien, though he didn't technically disagree, wasn't stupid enough to shout it out in front of everybody who agreed with it. That kid was going to have a hard life here, since his views would not only be disregarded by the principal, but the kids who enjoyed such a place would want to do away with such an outspoken young man as soon as possible.
Then, another boy, directly over his right shoulder one row back, stood, spoke as though agreeing with the young mans protest, then promptly turned, bringing an elbow down to the skull of a boy in front of him, Two or three seats from Damien's right.. Damien watched, uncaring, as the boy slumped to the floor, hands going to his head to try and comfort the pain. His eyes returned to the boy who struck him. His eyes flicked over his frame as well, taking a judge of his strength, speed, and ability to attack and defend. Coming to his conclusions, he turned back toward the front once more. He decided that, regardless of how he fought, He was just like almost every other person here. No purpose to his violence, just wanting to hurt someone.
Damien stood, moving left, through the aisle and the sea of students, to the path lining the wall that led to an exit. As he wandered toward the back of the auditorium, his eyes caught on a young female who was looking rather pained about talking on the phone with whoever it was who called her. He stared a bit as he walked, remembering the description he had taken of all those who were higher-ups in the gang that basically ruled the other school...He knew who she was. Mae...Mae...Mae something. Damien didn't remember, but he intended to find out. He took the exit, breathing some cooler air that was just outside the large room. He took a few breaths, finally getting some air. It wasn't as though he was claustrophobic, But air that was ever getting warmer in that packed room smelled, and he wanted to breathe fresh air for once.
He returned to the room after thirty seconds or so, and instead of returning to his seat, took the seat beside the young girl on the cell phone, directly to her left. He would have preferred to first speak with that former pillar, hell EITHER of the former pillars, but they were near the other side of the room, all the way up front. He would have his chance. 'One step at a time.' He told himself. Looking to the girl,Mae, he pointed with his chin at the principal.
"So, whats your view on the situation? Quite interesting, don't you think?"

"Where's the others?"
'Went ahead...'
Magnus and the former leader of the gang walked through the double door entrance to the new school. Not in a million years could Magnus have foreseen this. But now that he was here and all of his work at Hircine wasted as most of those he had interacted with stayed there. He felt nothing though. It was just another obstacle to tear apart. And on the bright side. He would become the captain of this school, and that would be easy as there were no captain to beat down to become the captain. Instead, there was an entire population of confused people he would have to shape into thinking .
'It can't be, he died...'
"Huh?"
'That's Trent Davis... He used to be in The Hand of Fate... Rumors had it that Kvist used him to kill all those who tried to leave the gang. You can imagine that the drop out rate stopped instantly after that. But... He died last year...'
"Apparently he didn’t… Well, I'll see you later.”
Magnus walked away from the other guy and he wasn’t slow to figure out that Magnus didn’t want to talk to him anymore. This was a new territory and he needed to check it out before doing anything rash. He actually managed to find a front seat. On the way to that seat he had seen familiar faces, Aden, Damien and Zack. He would have to find them after this assembly and talk to them, some of them showed potential.
The speech began. And Magnus understood less and less. This system was enforced to make students study and behave. This school had the exact opposite effect. This was anarchy… Anarchy with only one safe anchor and that would be Davis. If what his friend had told him, then Davis wouldn’t go down easily. And Magnus would test that anchor and see if he stood by his words. Magnus pushed the guy next to him. Several mentally unstable reactions formed in the guys head and he responded with a fist for Magnus’ head.
Where do they find these people?
The inevitable result was the guy lying bleeding on the floor. A severely broken nose and blood oozing out from its now misshapen nostrils. It had been a single elbow that had made that damage. But that was beside the point. The point was that, Trent Davis, couldn’t avoid seeing this. Being that Magnus was on front row and all. For the rest of the school, this wouldn't be seen, a wall of flesh had risen to cheer on the principal.
Now, let me see a reaction!

OOC: The fun thing about this school is that Dante gets everybody's love. IC: One person beside Dante started to speak up as soon as he was finished, saying something about 'force being the only way to get things done'. "That's not true!" Dante replied, he said what he said earlier without thinking, but since he was already deep in this shit, he might as well back it up, "Force is never the only solution, there's always an alternative, and when there isn't, the first thing tried shouldn't be with violence!" Then as soon as he was done talking to the person beside him, a new person behind him started talking in a threatening way towards Dante, hurting someone in the process. Dante smirked, "Your threats mean nothing to me. The fact that you can harm someone who has no idea that you'll hit them doesn't really scare anybody." Dante smiled, This joke actually thinks he can scare me by elbowing some random guy in the head...Dante sighed as he looked around, the moronically violent students that didn't hate Dante were the non-belligerent people who considered Dante naive. And while Dante considered his latest move a bit naive, he also thought that his desire to change the ever-so-flawed Anarchism based way of Paragon wasn't so naive, just as Martin Luther King's desire to change the way his people were treated wasn't naive, just as Mohandas Gandhi wasn't naive for wanting liberation from Britain and better treatment of the Indians. Though Dante didn't really wish to compare someone as small as himself with these great people that made marks in history, it still proved a point. Ugh... Dante thought as he looked around seeing the glares aimed directly at him, This is a great start at a new school. Now everyone hates me... It's feels good when one is so loved. He knew that everybody now only wanted to punch Dante's face, but he couldn't let that stop him. OOC: Sorry for the length

“Hey, what exactly is the principle talking about?”
Turning his head to the side Tai Yang looked at the freshmen through his red lenses, his eyes already set ablaze with raw emotion. He stood slowly, very pleased by the principles choice of words just like a good majority of the other students. Giving a crisp tug to the collar of his leather jacket he let his smile grow even wider.
“Tch. What does it mean? It means he wants us to be ourselves. Pure ecstasy.”
Snapping his fist out to the side he struck the freshmen square across the jaw, no outer body movement required as he struck straight from the elbow. As a result the naïve freshmen’s body was knocked unconscious and fell to the side in a limp heap, his head resting in a girls lap before she screamed and pushed him off. Laughing at the scene he caused Tai Yang walked out into the isle leading up to the stage, now standing directly in front of the principle.
“I like where this is going, but – When Can We Start This Crazy Party?”
Yelling out the last few words Tai Yang let out a laugh once more, completely ignoring the other students at hand and their problems before he turned to the side, grabbing a seated students head and kneeing him square in the face without remorse or warning. His knee caused the cheekbone to shatter and collapse as the student screamed out in agony – grabbing his cheek and falling from his chair onto his knees.
“You don’t need to bow, I’m not the top dog yet. Haha!”
Stepping back with his right leg he pushed off his left and spun over tossing his hips around as he brought up his left leg in a low arch. The side of his steel-toed boots connecting with the side of an onlooker do decided to remain seated. Rocked back in his seat the two hundred plus pound student leaned forward in pain and anguish before getting a healthy dose of adrenaline and standing up.
“No, you have to bow. I don’t like you.”
Enticing the much larger and heavier student to throw a punch Tai Yang waited until his fist was drawn back before springing forward off his right foot and planting a seemingly motionless left punch square in his opponents stomach. His arm made an elongated V shape as his fist remained with his thumb pointing upward. No twist, no shoulder movement, all from the elbow. A deliriously fast punch, and effective as well, making the large student gasp out for air. Stepping back it seemed like a scene from the movies, for once Tai Yang removed his fist the boy fell onto his knees, still gasping for air as he held his stomach.
“Now, kiss my boots.”
The boy only continued to cough and gasp, his lungs still set ablaze from being winded.
“Wrong choice.”
Having only heard the last couple words the boy was barely able to look up before his head was thrown back by the force of Tai Yang’s steel toed boots connecting from underneath – the classic soccer punt. After a few seconds delay the boys entire body slumped out unconscious, part of his body in the row of seats, part of it in the middle isle. Closing his eyes Tai Yang tilted his head back, taking a deep breath, as his smile grew wider.
“Ah! So intoxicating.”
Bringing his head forward he slowly opened his eyes, barely looking past them as he stared toward the principle. His glasses had just barely slid down his nose, meaning he was looking straight at the principle without anything blocking his path. The animalistic fury was just as present as ever, burning away at him to cause more destruction.
“Was this your idea of embracing it? Of encouraging our true natures? Well, this is my nature. What do you think?”

Shoot and a miss, Tiao responded with mere looks, no verbal response. At least to Nathan, he called some others 'idiots'. It's not like he needed a verbal response though. That look was enough. He could count on Tiao to have his back, even if he didn't talk much. Tiao and Nathan had become friends in the past few months. And with how things had turned out, he may be Tiao's only friend for the rest of the year. Paragon didn't seem all that friendly to people that tried to maintain order.
Dante was a whole other story though. He was the one needle in the hay stack. The one cop in a drug bust. Whatever attempts he would make to improve the school would most likely be doomed from the start. He may think he was doing the right thing, and he was, but that didn't mean people would react to his attempts kindly. In the school of outcasts, no one wants to have order. They thrived in chaos and they would have it that way. Dante may be a decent fighter, but he couldn't fight over a thousand students alone. And he wouldn't get any help from Nathan or Tiao.
Nathan was a big promoter of learning from experience and Dante just didn't seem to understand these people much. That's what made him such a nice guy. It's also what made him so naive and such an easy target. He would have to learn one thing the hard way. You can't force your ideals on others. You may be able to change their viewpoint if they were generally nice people, but these people weren't so nice. He most likely thought that he was like one of the old leaders that lead to a better society, but he wasn't the same as them. They at least had some support, he had none.
Deep down inside though, Nathan wanted to give pity on Dante. So his weaker side showed for a second. He could appreciate what he was trying to do, even if it was futile.
"You should back down Dante, these guys don't want change. They like things how they are. Just stop now before you get seriously hurt. You can't win this fight." Nathan said with his head resting on his hand, which balanced on the chair's arm rest. "Just walk away while you can."

Things were progressing far faster than the principal had ever imagined. Inevitably, there was one or two who would be against such freedom, though they wouldn't be much of a problem. In the end, they were in the minority, and would have turned themselves into a target just by calling attention to themselves. Even as several students lashed out at each other, Trent hardly moved. A slight smile tugged at his lips at the unbridled aggression within some of these "troublemakers", reminding him of Varron's own group of psychos.
It's only natural, though. Every city has it's own brand of insanity.
The majority of students rose to cheer on the staff's proclamation, though the principal could pick out a few who had seen fit to celebrate with violence. One even went so far as to address the principal himself, something that Trent would answer with a smile at first, as his next words would answer this student as well as the rest. It seemed to behoove him to redirect how some were viewing this situation, not that they had the wrong idea, but in order to aim their fury in a more appropriate direction. Slowly, the principal would tap the microphone in front of him a few times, allowing the thumping noise to regain the crowd's attention.
"If I might continue for a moment... I realize many of you are eager to assert your dominance over the others in this school. I certainly have no qualms with your doing so, but I only ask that you refrain just for the moment, until you hear the rest of what needs to be mentioned. As many of you are no doubt aware of, this institute has several positions that need filling, namely; the School Captain and Pillars. However, the staff will not be naming anyone as Captain until he or she has proven themselves outside of this assembly, and become well known among the student body. Whether it be through respect or fear is irrelevant, but I must stress this fact; earning the staff's favour will have no impact on your chances."
The principal paused for a moment, allowing the students to take in this new information. As things stood, he could already see several students who were the most likely candidates to earn such a position, ones who he would personally keep an eye on out of simple interest.
"One final note. I'm sure many of you are more than eager to skip classes with your newfound freedom, but I suggest you try them out at first. As I've said, this institute encourages your true nature, and you may enjoy the changes I've made to the curriculum... Classes start tomorrow, you may have the rest of the day off. Please, enjoy your stay at Paragon."
Trent stood from his leaning position against the podium, still smiling at the cheering the crowd gave his announcements. It seemed that his superiours would be pleased at the groundwork laid for their plan, and the principal was already thrilled at the setup for his own goals.

He watched the spectacle of events continue from his seat in the back. 'All these brash idiots. Totally ruining a perfectly good plan, that's in the works,' he allowed himself a small smirk after his thoughts, coming to the realization that he wouldn't have to do much except keep people from gaining too much recognition.
He stared hard at the three people who struck out in an attempt to test the waters. 'Now what do you suppose the motivation is. School Captainship? Maybe, but if that's all these people are after then it's hardly worth the effort. Too many heads to crack down on, not enough time.'
He left his thoughts and joined reality, watching most of the crowd throw up cheers and hoots for the new system, the principal, the idea of it all. Rhis would remain seated, a small frown appearing on his features. He wouldn't have any control. This bothered him, he would be walking blind, and in a school full of crazies, that's the last thing he wanted.
As the principal dismissed everyone Rhis started to get up slowly. "I wonder who gets paid to clean up the blood around here?" he wondered aloud, hoping to catch the ears of a few students. Confusion and fear is such a bastard.
Once he was out a good deal he took this opportunity to walk the grounds. "Might as well know the area. Specially the cafeteria." He shuddered involuntarily. "No one will ever have a peaceful meal." He walked on, leaving behind most of the other students who were interested in nothing more than senseless slaughter.

Vince could only grumble when they got onto the bus. He could only locate afew of his side of Genaht. Even through the text messaging channels of his phone he could only gather that about twenty five had made it to this little trip with him. A small enough number and it meant that if nothing else, the ordered side of Genaht was abit weaker and very possibly Dirk's was going to get abit stronger.
That thought alone irked Vince to no end. The burned face with that insidious little grin. It was only in that moment that he realized his smirk was rather similiar and he detested the other man all the more. He was clever and certainly latched on to afew of Ein's ideals. Just enough to make him seem credible. Just enough to show he had a mind.
He would arrive at the auditorium as he thought, slowly gathering his remnants of Genaht. The loyalists that had never taken off their armbands and that had held to the thoughts that were passed to them. They made no particular show, but did move in a formation, even if it was noticeably looser than when Ein had lead, before taking a seat in the first three rows.
What would come next would lead to utter dumbfoundment in the ranks of Loyalist Genaht. True, they all knew it was within their half crazed leader's mind that there should be a survival of the fittest mentality, but at the same time it had to come within order. The strongest imposing their own order before being toppled by those that did not approve.
This was not such a system. Vince's eyes focused on the young man that claimed to be the principal. His mind spun around the other's motives and thoughts. This was not such a system. This was that man's desired order. His want and desire.
It was a perversion to everything Vince knew, and he knew his small group would see it the same way. When the crowd became more agitated Vince would merely stand. The rest of the his fragment of Genaht standing a moment after him and they would shove those that got to close away, and held small skirmishes with those that would fight. In the end, nobody truely tried to fight against the organized group.
Not yet anways.
That would happen afterwards. When Vince dared to try to tame this school, to become it's captain. He had a small force at his back, he would need to gather more he knew, but atleast he had a head start.
Each student was a ray of light, shining in it's own direction. He couldn't capture them all, he knew, but if he gathered enough and acted as a lens. It could be harnessed and focused, to something even more lethal.
