I'm kicking myself in the ass for this, but hopefully this will keep a few of you from getting it.
If you get a random message from someone asking you if a certain link is pictures of you, don't click it.
Jeremy was nice enough to pass it on to me, and I'm just not in the giving mood, so I'm trying to stop some of it. You think I'd learn after this happened to me last year...

I may or may not have gotten it from Tyler. It may have been stopped or something, don't know. Doesn't seem to have had any effect except it's now apparently sending other people that message. Is it known for any other effects?

It's still going around? Jesus, I thought that thing was done by now...
Have you activated your System Restore yet? I think I remember that being the way to undo the virus, at least, I think I remember that working for me.

Sorry about that Kyu. I got it off mine but apparently it leaked out before I could contain it. I go mine off by finding it in.

That's too weird... EVE Online just had a major path error that had to do with System32. I know they're not related, but that's just weird...

This should be a PSA.
Either way, there are way too many viruses like this one to count. The basic moral of the story is don't accept any random links unless your friend describes them to you after you ask. If you understand what I mean.

This is easy, Delete System 32.
System 32 caches all your MSN logs even if you tell MSN not to, it'll go into System 32, so it'll load emoticons and such faster as well. If you delete System 32 it'll delete anything related to do with received MSN files- you'll lose everything you've collected because it'll in turn delete your actual 'my received files' folder as well when you get rid of System 32, but it'll take care of the virus.

Just as a note to those of us who have AIM as well, once you have it on MSN it spreads to AIM, and Tyler's uninstall method doesn't work. Fortunately, it doesn't show up as a link there from what I've seen.

Worked for me, at least. You have to make sure you delete everything related though, all files and folders. Pretty much wipe clean your system 32 like Sham said, only I deleted everything in it and not the system 32 itself.

Yeah well... these virus links are usually send to me by a dutch friend yet the text he sends is in English, making it rather easy to see it's yet another dumb virus...

Hey, how many of you were incapable of logging on to Live Messenger today? Not only did my log on screen act blank, but whenever I tried to log on, it stated that the service was temporarily unavailable. Something up, or is it just me?

Yeah... I just reinstalled MSN Live Messenger, and even then, it's still acting as if the service status is unavailable. That's really weird.
Maybe I just need to restart my laptop or something.
Edit: Yep, I was right; whenever my laptop self-hibernates, it always seems as if something decides to go wrong. It's all good now, so no need for technical advice.
