-Several Hours Prior-
"Hey, Kaz, aren't you taking off yet?"
Glancing up from the papers in front of him, pen in hand, he gave a slow shake of his head before quickly scrawling his signature onto a form...The bars ice machines were due for a routine maintenance, he'd needed to fill out a few slips beforehand, but with the scribble of his signature down he rose from the chair and tucked the papers together, smiling at Rene...
"Not yet, turns out there's a late start for whatever reason...Figured I'd keep myself busy until then here, you mind terribly....?"
She giggled lightly, shaking her head and turning away out the door again, pausing to look back with a light smile, "Not at all, but be careful, alright? Your insurance premiums are high enough as they are..."
"It's just a tournament, Rene. I've been in a few of them before, y'know...Worst that'll happen if I can't make it through, I'll step down. I've got nothing to prove tonight except a point, and if I can't do it with my fists then perhaps it's high time I stopped relying on them..."
"...You're serious about this, aren't you? About this being more than just a chance to punch someone for you...This is to get recognition for-"
"You should know me better than that by now. I don't sign up for these things unless I need to, and it seems that this is a necessary time..."
-2:55am-
He'd arrived with little fuss, a check of his name at the doors and a quick, gruff ushering in before he made his way through...He'd not had to look too far before a hand clapped down on his shoulder, asking him if he was one of the competitors...
Thus, he was here, standing in one corner of a small ring, his arms resting loosely on the ropes around the turnbuckles as he watched. Right now, as he waited on the arrival of his opponent, he was simply watching for anything, or more specifically, anyone. Most of them were punch-happy old men who liked to gamble on fights, the coked-up trophy women with them who liked to spend that money, and mingling through the crowd here and there the occasional security official for the building...
Needless to say, he was adequately prepared...He'd walked to the building, using the cool air and the peace of the stroll to both loosen his legs and wind him down from the bar, giving him time to bring his mind to a near-standstill and let work leave his head. Three in the morning might seem surprising to some people for a man to be awake and active, but Rene had taken his place for the later part of the evening, allowing him to spend the last thirty minutes before he left Legion resting up and preparing, during which time he'd shed his work-clothes, a casual suit, for a pair of thick, durable carpenters jeans, loose fitting around his body to give him suitable flexibility...Held up with a generic black leather belt, they were paired with a pair of light sneakers, tightly tied around his ankles. As he had in the past in the tournaments, he'd removed his shirt before stepping into the ring for the sake of preventing his opponent from using it as a grappling tool.
He neither knew nor was all that curious about who he was fighting yet, the first rounds were rarely interesting in these sort of tournaments, as such he wasn't letting his mind concern itself with anything else as he squatted down, stretching out one of his legs loosely before a familiar body made its appearance at the ringside, evidently about to step into it. His expression was one of mild amusement, tinged with a slight disappointment. He'd hoped to fight a new challenge tonight, but this was still good in its own right.
"Y'know, I'm almost surprised you didn't arrive on crutches. Quick healer, it would seem...."

-1 AM-
"God, I hate you."
The half-mumbled words were accompanied by the sound of the radio turning on, one that Pain Killer had stolen from his roommate just for this very occasion. Whether or not the sudden noise woke up the kid didn't concern Adam, as it was his own damn fault for not signing up and having to go through this ordeal himself.
Stupid kid and his lack of pride... what's the point if you don't test yourself once in a while?
The early start did nothing to help Pain Killer's already sour mood, who proceeded to slide out of bed and grab his fighting attire. Coincidentally, that fighting attire was the very same clothing he wore almost constantly, a black muscle shirt with black jeans, his fingerless gloves sliding into place fairly easily. To save time, he'd taken a shower before going to sleep, though now he was beginning to regret that decision. Adam took a quick glance at his cell phone, disappointed with how early it was, before grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge and heading out of the apartment, slamming the door on the way out.
Most assuredly, it would wake Kyukaku from his sleep, and the thought of annoying the kid made this tournament worthwhile already.
-2:57 AM-
Since when does Kyu have good taste in music?
Standing a few rows back from the ring, Adam almost missed the deadline for his match. In an effort to get the blood and adrenaline flowing, he'd cranked up the volume on Kyukaku's headphones, listening to "Mother" by Danzig at the third highest setting, right before the headphones started to crackle from being too loud. As the song ended, Adam glanced at his cell phone, fear rushing through him as he realized just what time it actually was. Frantically, he shoved his headphones and cellphone into his trenchcoat's pockets, pushing through the crowd before stopping at the ringside, his eyes roaming for his opponent.
Once found, Adam's eyes narrowed, sliding his trenchcoat off his body as he heard the words spoken to him.
"Lightning doesn't strike the same spot twice, old man. This time you'll be the one who gets dragged out. Unless you want to do the smart thing, and forfeit now."
His hands clasped together, his arms extending out in front of him as Adam's knuckles cracked, releasing the pressure that had been building. A small yawn escaped Adam's mouth as he strode slowly across the floor towards his opponent, climbing into the ring and standing in the opposite corner, leaving plenty of distance between the two. His thumbs rested in the pockets of his jeans, his stance relaxed and casual, the barest of smiles formed on his face as he regarded his first round opponent.
"You gonna start us off this time? Or do I need to jump start your heart again?"

"I suppose not, but who said I'd be going for your ankle tonight...? I'm not so past it that I'd directly use the same strategy twice, y'know. As for forfeiting, last time I checked I've got the advantage. That ankle of yours? Come on, you might think it's healed, but I'm pretty sure it's still a little tender, the bones aren't quite back to their full strength. One or two decent hits, that's all..."
The dry smirk he sent in Adams direction was simply one of a sporting fighter. Whilst his opponent, obviously a little more tired than he considering the likely difference in internal clocks, was entering the ring and setting himself up he simply waited calmly at the other corner. Pushing himself from his leaning position though, he stood straighter as his body began to instinctively prepare him, his muscles flexing involuntarily in pure anticipation, his eyes beginning to dim away everything else as his entire focus found a target in Adam 'PainKiller' Rydell, his body gradually approaching with small paces as he watched the man opposite him.
When asked whether he would be starting things off, he would already have been in transit as he lunged with the appearance of Adam being ready to fight at last...Allowing no wasted time, he would converge upon Adam with a powerful initial attack, his right hand snapping out in a sudden, sharp jab to the younger mans face. From gauging the size of the ring closing in on Adam, with his speed, would take much less time than in a normal match, giving his opponent less time to be able to react to the swift, initial blow of the match...This also provided a problem in that his evasive style and speed would not be able to see their full potential here. He knew that matching Adams strength would be a risk not worth taking, instead he would need to force the younger man to waste energy and time throwing missed attacks.
He would have to dodge the blows more than anything in this tournament. He had faith in his reflexes, but he knew from last time the two had fought that it wasn't a simple matter to perform, far easier to say than to do...
'But, I won't lose this round. There's still something I need to do here...I wasn't interested in fighting you before, you were just someone looking for a fight, but right now you're an obstacle, something I need to get past. Adam, I hope you're ready, because I'm not going to humour you like I did before...'
With the first punch en route to Adams mouth and jaw, Taiku would waste little time in anything as his left fist would quickly follow, a lower punch to his stomach before he would consider his reaction. He needed to see what his opponent was going to do before he could react accordingly, and as adrenalin began to increase in his body he felt a familiar feeling return as he eagerly anticipated Adams returning attacks...

"I guess I'll have to end this quick, then."
In an unhurried fashion, Pain Killer brought his hands up, his right fist hovering close to his jaw, the left sitting about a foot out in front of his face, half open. His upper body twisted to the right slightly, bringing his left side of his body forward somewhat, an odd choice given how Taiku had ended their last fight. Still, such a memory was fresh in Adam's mind, and the same tactic wouldn't work twice. Taking two steps out from the corner, Adam prepared himself for Taiku's offensive, believing the older man would waste no time in beginning the battle, given how ruthless he'd been in their earlier fight.
He wasn't disappointed.
Whether it was the fact he was tired, or Adam was just plain not used to Taiku's speed, Pain Killer was almost too slow in reacting to the attack. As it was, his left arm barely had enough time to respond, the forearm colliding with Taiku's arm just before the elbow, sending the blow to sail harmlessly off to Adam's left. His hand twisted, Adam's fingers driving into Taiku's bicep to give him a good grip and limit the older man's mobility to dodge his attacks. In the very same motion, Adam stepped forward and to Taiku's right with his left leg, dropping his right hand and sending it forth in a vicious uppercut towards Taiku's gut. Should the man formerly known as Kazuki follow through with his planned punch to Adam's midsection, it would connect at about the same time as Adam's strike. While certainly painful, the self-proclaimed Pain Killer would be less concerned so long as his own attack landed, as in a battle of attrition, he knew he could outlast the smaller fighter.
After all, he wasn't called Pain Killer for nothing.

ooc: Excuse my short post. I'm in one hell of a mood at the moment and I'm totally funked out for writing anything of my usual standard...I'm also sure I fucked this up somewhere, so just say so and I'll edit.
ic:
The attempt to grab the arm was successful in one aspect, but it would only prove temporary for the larger fighter in the long run. Moving through as a direct result of the catch, Taikus position would shift in a matter of moments from being almost head-on with Adam to shifting himself to the left, moving with the catch of his arm and stepping through with his right foot, turning slightly to face Adam once again during the movement, standing now almost at a perpendicular position to him.
'Fuck this, I don't have time to waste on someone I've already beaten...'
His left fist would indeed still be in transit as he moved, but the target would have changed at the catch. On top of it, with the presentation of Adams left ankle as he stepped through, Taiku had already made focus on attacking the weakened limb...His left fist striking upwards into the fleshy area of Adams armpit, the nerves there he would clash with upon striking more than enough to loosen Adams grip and free his arm should he prove successful, at the same time his left leg would sharply snap forward, the top of his foot swung directly for the already damaged ankle from their previous fight.
Whilst it would not floor the larger man, nor do much more than stun him partially, it was a systematic plan that would prove itself effective. Either Adam would attempt to protect and pander over the limb, dropping a balanced defence in favour of guarding his leg, or he would suffer more impact to a limb already damaged in a previous match with Taiku, being slowed down once more.
Regardless of such, he was immediately prepared for the possibility of either of those happening, his body coiled tightly to react in small bursts of speed to evade Adams attacks. He had no need to concentrate on smoothly evading, so long as he could read through the majority of them and make him waste the punches, he was more than capable of flitting from side to side, around his opponent...Even the trapped arm, though the punch to the underarm was partly to loosen Adams grip, wasn't completely caught. If so needed, he would be able to wrench himself free...

OOC: If you fucked up, then I fucked up, because it looks good to me.
IC:
While Adam's uppercut may have missed, there was one thing that worked in his favour given Taiku's manuever. During his attack, Pain Killer had stepped to the left and forward, looking to put more power into his attack, so when Taiku continued forward, he would find Adam actually stepping into him, rather than to the side as planned. While not exactly what Adam had in mind, it would probably work better in the end for the youngest Rydell.
His left leg would wind up stepping between Taiku's own legs, not in a cheap attack, but simply because it was the only open area for it to travel to. Adam simply went with his failed attack, turning to his left and sending his body towards Taiku. His left hand released Taiku's arm, partly due to the strike that landed against his armpit, but mainly due to his plan of using the very environment against his opponent. Earlier, Adam had only taken two steps away from his corner, which would leave the two combatants still close to that area, and when Taiku had moved to Adam's side, he had brought himself dangerously close to the ropes, as it would cut his mobility down even further.
Former boxing instincts began to kick in, causing Adam to whip his left hand towards Taiku's right pectoral muscle, shoving the older man against the ropes, holding him there as he pulled his right arm back from it's failed flight. The shove would serve several purposes, as it would put Taiku off balance, put him against the ropes, as well as give Pain Killer a nice target to aim for. His right foot slid forward, giving Adam a more stable stance to work with, coming just off to the outside of Taiku's left foot as Adam sent his right arm against towards Taiku's midsection, this time aimed at the lowest ribs on the older man's left side.

ooc: We discussed the positionings over MSN, but if any of this seems out of kilter, let me know. I couldn't believe my luck when you gave me this opportunity ic: 'Clever, very clever. You've learned from last time, it would seem...'Shifting his feet to keep himself on an equal facing with Adam, he felt the ropes press against his back slightly as he felt the leg root between his, the step misfiring and leaving him with a different situation to that he had expected. However, at the same time, it wasn't an entirely failed situation. As a result of it, he would find the upcoming reaction a much simpler thing to do. He didn't resist to the shunt to his pectoral, limping his body enough for the impact to strike him, but only twist his upper body as the blow numbed the muscle first, rising to a dull ache...During the instance, however, Taikus hands reacted in the instant the fist would collide with his chest. His right palm grabbing the wrist, jerking it sharply as his body was twisted by the blow, his left hand shot directly for Adams throat. Caught against the ropes he might have been, but technicality was an asset to be praised in close quarters. He couldn't withstand the force of a blow from Adam too many times, so he would simply have to find ways to neutralise them. As his hands were in reaction, the rest of his body reacted to the initial twist, his legs swiftly turning as his left knee came up, aiming to hit the inside of Adams thigh and shock the muscle into giving way with the rest of the twist. His right heel simply served an added bonus as well, with the positioning of his legs, Adam had inadvertantly made his own mistake by cornering his own limb. The product of the movements? Adam Rydell would be sent into a tumble, twisting slightly in the descent as a result of the momentum put upon him, sending the back of his head and upper body toward the turnbuckle with the force of Taikus throw and his own body weight. Whilst it wasn't likely to do much more than put a little space between the two, it would depend on a few very important factors...Would Adam be able to prevent himself from hitting that turnbuckle; if he couldn't, would he be able to withstand that kind of a blow to the back of his head; on that note, he didn't even know how padded or, for the matter at hand, unpadded they were.

OOC: I could say the same thing.
IC:
As Taiku's hand shot towards Adam's throat, the Senior student's mind didn't even have a conscious thought to guide the body, Pain Killer's instincts taking over his reaction to this particular movement in the same way it always did. His chin dropped, his mouth opening enough to catch the soft flesh of Taiku's hand within it, clamping down on the area between his thumb and pointer. While Adam had no intention of holding on to the hand for long, the move served its purpose of safeguarding his neck for the moment.
With the turn of Taiku's body, Pain Killer recognized his opportunity, abandoning his planned step forward due to his opponent's new positioning. His right hand flew upwards, slamming into Taiku's left wrist and grabbing hold, driving the hand out of his mouth even as Adam thrust his right leg against the ring floor. The force shoved his body towards Taiku, and while the older man's strike would indeed cause Adam's left leg to buckle, the fact was that Adam had already begun to bend his leg at the knee.
The intention was clear; unless Taiku could manage to pull the 230+ pounds of a student off course, Adam's left knee would slam into the side of Taiku's right, likely dislocating or even breaking the joint, in a somewhat ironic turn of events.

'He's BITING me...!?'
Adam, it would seem, was in something of a desperation if he was resorting to such a thing to protect himself. However, the instant his teeth would lock down against Taikus flesh, the fingers would curl up and around his jaw, digging the fingertips into the cavity on the underside of the lower jawbone with a vicious crush of his grip. The nerves in the area were not designed to withstand much pain in any man, even those capable of massive tolerance, and Adam would find himself in a position where his jaw could end up broken or separated as Taikus arm gave one final shunt of force directly into his mouth, knocking back Adams lower jaw with a jolt of power with his own teeth gritting themselves at the pain of his predicament, Adams teeth likely to cut into his flesh partially in reaction. He would not escape this unscathed by any means, he was just intent that his opponent shared the same position as he did...
Whilst his intended takedown would not work with the change in circumstances, Adam would still end up taken out of balance as his head was struck back via the shove into his jaw, his wrist dragged to pull his left side over. Adam was a much larger fighter than him, pulling him out of course would be difficult in its own right, but combining two separate points of force being applied, both from the left and right hands, he would be able to shift Adam enough to stop him collapsing against him, sending him to the left. As his knees collided with the larger fighters leg, buckling him down, he would already be moving as his left foot grounded itself once more, his right naturally pulling away. He would not completely escape the impact of Adams knee however, and it struck harshly against his knee regardless of his evasive movement. However, unless Adams speed was able to match his own, the conclusion of events would separate the two fighters, Taiku taking a few staggered steps backward as he held his knee carefully.

Pain was nothing that Adam hadn't experienced before, as he even considered himself to be fairly adept at dealing with it. However, Taiku's thrusting hand into his jaw was too much to simply ignore, forcing Pain Killer pull his head back, looking to take as much pressure off as he could until his right hand could rip Taiku's offending limb away. By this time, the damage had been done, his jaw throbbing, though thankfully it had been saved from further injury.
His knee hadn't struck full-on as he'd intended, but Adam was less concerned than one may have assumed. Of all his personality qualities that would surface in this fight, the fact that Adam was just too stubborn for his own good was the next to come to light, as Pain Killer's right hand refused to let go of Taiku's left wrist. Adam's thrust towards his opponent had brought him to a kneeling position, his right knee against the ground, his left foot flat against the ground in front of where Taiku had been facing moments before, during the impact. As the older man went to continue turning, however, he would find that his left arm wasn't turning with him, being forcibly restrained by the larger student's hand.
At this point, one of two things would happen. Either Taiku would continue holding Adam's left wrist as he turned, wrapping Pain Killer's left arm around Taiku's waist, or he would release his grip, in which Pain Killer would wrap his arm around Taiku regardless, moving as soon as as his hand had been released. Upon having such a grip, Adam would release the former gang-leader's left wrist, pulling Taiku towards him as he brought his right arm around to complete the circle, giving Taiku what was essentially a bearhug from the back, only squeezing the internal organs that weren't protected by his ribcage.

ooc: This one is gonna be short....I'm also assuming Taiku isn't facing Adam in this bearhug. If not, then I'll edit. Also, I'm assuming that Taikus got his arms free. If not, say so.
ic:
As the two stumbled through, Adam catching him with his left arm and bringing him into the bearhug, the initial shunt of force took the wind clean from Taiku....Buckling forward a moment as his body suddenly flexed rigidly, fighting against the massive pressure being applied to his midsection. Squirming quickly as his muscles tensed tightly, he butted his head backward with a sharp strike towards Adams jaw, considering the height difference of the two fighters...It wasn't too likely that at this distance his opponent would be able to do anything to avoid it, but it was simply serving as a diversion for Taikus intended escape. He couldn't risk much more pressure than this, not for much longer, and even if it was a cheap way to escape, he would do it.
'Sorry Adam...'
His opponents kneeling position gave Adam a much stronger position to ground himself, but when fighting against a struggling opponent, even the strength difference between the two would not be able to hold Taiku back as he harshly drove his foot against the ground, pushing back against Adam to try and distort his balance for the time being. At the same time, the final distraction in motion, his palms scrambled for Adams right hand, prising away at his thumb and index finger suddenly and prying the digits, gripping them tightly and attempting to snap them. Pain, Adam could take. Taiku knew that. But Taiku would not simply stand by and let himself be wrestled out of this fight...He would, should he be successful, continue to twist back Adams fingers, pulling them apart savagely in the hopes that the larger fighter would be forced to release him from the hold. If such a thing were to happen, Taiku would push himself away from Adam with a lunging roll to the other side of the ring, his body twisting in the process to turn him around to be facing his opponent once again.

OOC: It's all good.
IC:
Taiku's headbutt, while a good idea in theory, would not end up striking Adam's jaw, though in no part due to an intentional effort by Pain Killer. Instead, at this point Adam had already begun performing his next move, dipping his head in order to safeguard it from his own attack, tucking it against Taiku's ribs, close to his left armpit. As such, while it was moving, Adam would take the strike against the top of his head, painful to be sure, but not worth abandoning his attack over. His weight went momentarily to his left leg, a quick slide of his right leg forward bringing Adam to an exaggerated squatting position behind Taiku.
Even as Kazuki began to pull at Adam's fingers, the larger student would drive his legs into the ground, thrusting himself up to a standing position as he began pulling Taiku up and over his right shoulder. It was a move commonly referred to as a "German Suplex" in professional wrestling, and strangely enough, Taiku had reacted in almost the exact same way as a scripted wrestler would, attempting to pry the hands off in order to save himself from the slam. As soon as Adam's legs were nearly straight, he threw himself backwards as fast and hard as he could, aiming to fall flat on his back. The older man balanced on his shoulder would find the top and/or back of his head rapidly approaching the ring floor, and if he continued to pry at Adam's fingers, the unprotected landing of his head had potentially crippling effects.

ooc: You're adamant to get this move off, huh...? Since I don't want to risk godding anything, this is a preliminary, and if you object to my conclusion to this then say so. ic: The thrust upwards quickly became one of the longest spells of time in Taikus life...Physically, he was weaker. He was far faster than Adam, but in this pathetic little excuse for a ring, he needed to employ every inch of the space available to him. Trapped as he was in his opponents arms, he could do very little to prise himself loose as it stood, but he had one small sliver of respite left for him. As Adam rose, he would be forced to bring his lower legs and knees into reach of Taikus feet, at the same time, considering the fact that he was being grappled from his waist with Adam on his knees, another far more vulnerable spot was left completely unguarded at the moment... There was no guarantee that it would stop the action, and as such Taiku made no move to cease wrenching back Adams fingers. Regardless of the outcome, he was determined to render the hand useless, with a broken thumb, Adam wouldn't even be able to grip onto him with it and that arm would inevitably become nothing more than a club to swing. Using his grip on the fingers, he would shift his body with a shunt of his weight a fraction to his left, just enough to ensure the brunt of the impact would not be borne solely to the back of his head, as his heel fired backward with one savage kick straight for Adams crotch, crushing in at his genitals with the full force of the kick. However, even with the kick being thrown and the like, they were simply compensatory in regard to Taikus inability to stop himself being thrown backward, and as Adams body careened back, hopefully by which time he would have succeeded in his intentions for damaging the hand, the top of his left arm would attempt to fire back and meet the ground first, his shoulder crashing down a mere moment before the rest of his upper body, shielding his head from direct impact though it would still strike against the ground firmly. Regardless of which, his shoulder would be sacrificed with the force it withstood, a fair price to pay to prevent himself from being knocked out from the impact of the suplex. He would not emerge unharmed, his arm instinctively drawing in toward himself as he took the barest of moments to roll away, staggering to his feet and away from Adam as he blinked back the fog that had descended over his eyes from the hit to his head. Able to stand and continue fighting, he couldn't deny the fact that he had been hurt, and hurt pretty damned badly. He'd made the single mistake he was most vulnerable to, he'd gotten too close and ended up trapped in. The question remained, however, with the possibility of his opponent having one of his hands unable to punch with a broken thumb and finger, and the severe strike at his crotch, would this match remain all that uneven? His speed was only partially affected as it stood, his legs unscathed from the upper body attack, when it came down to the grit of things, so long as Adam wasn't going to spring back up after such a hit to his crown jewels, there was still as good a chance of him taking back this fight from the larger fighter. 'I meant it then, I mean it just as much now...You really ARE an amazing fighter, Adam...'

OOC: ADAMant.
IC:
Pain erupted between Adam's legs, the angle he was at gave him no hint of Taiku's planned attack on his genitals, and so, he had no defense against them. Even if he was aware, there would be little he could do regardless, as at this point Taiku was already sailing through the air, keeping Adam's hands occupied as he directed the older man's path towards the ground. Once past a certain point, however, there would be no need to keep his grip, as gravity would simply do the rest.
After all, if it was done on TV, it had to work in real life.
There was no doubt that Pain Killer's fingers wouldn't be able to hold out against Taiku's prying for a length of time. Still, digging underneath and getting a good grip would take time, and while fingers couldn't overpower an entire hand, Adam would certainly do his best, stalling for time until he reached the point of no return, where he would no longer have to hold Taiku in order for him to land properly. However, Pain Killer could feel the joints beginning to give way, and so, he pulled his right arm away, the left more than enough to keep Taiku in place. After all, the older man was in the air now, it was no longer a matter of lifting, but simply directing.
After impact, Pain Killer would roll in the opposite direction from Taiku, his right hand cradling his injured member, until he made it to the nearby ropes that Taiku had been pushed against earlier. Using his left arm, Adam would pull himself to his feet, keeping his focus on Taiku so as not to be surprised should the former gang-leader take this moment to attack.
So far so good... I won't lose a third time. I refuse to be beaten again by the same goddamn man...

Watching Adam as he rose to his feet, a smirk on his face at the tentative manner he brought himself up with his hand pandering his crotch, he steadily calmed his breathing, bracing back a sharp bolt of pain through his left arm as he tightened the limb up, bringing his palm up to his shoulder before stretching it back down. He still had mobility, so it wasn't broken, but with the impact he'd taken it was in enough pain for him to shift himself to favour it slightly, feigning the change to look like he was simply changing to a reversed footing from before. Adam would likely know the arm was injured, but if he didn't make it look too obvious, it might be able to help throw the larger fighter off his track a moment or two...
"I'm impressed, you're the first person who's managed to actually hurt me in a very, very long time...."
It was a simple statement, nothing more than a recognition, but Adam would likely receive it as a due compliment, as a subtle token of respect...He wasn't finished however, and as Taikus eyes glanced to the fingers, he looked back up with a mildly cocky smirk on his face, speaking with a much more joking tone.
"That hand of yours isn't going to slow you down even more, is it?"
Giving a faint nod, he made no advance at the moment, instead allowing Adam full time to re-establish himself on his feet and get set up for the next encounter. Both had taken a hard hit in that scuffle just now, Taiku had felt it, and judging by Adams careful standing, he was fairly certain he had as well. Taking a moment to get balance back was simply a sporting gesture, and whilst he was keen to continue the fight, he was also keen to have a moment to breathe...
Flicking his fingers of his right hand toward himself, he gave a tilt of his head before smirking at his larger foe, "Your turn...."

"Slow me down? Look who's talking. I'm surprised you're still standing."
It was actually a much nicer version of what Adam was going to say, but he held his tongue, changing the words before speaking. It wasn't much, but it was the best he would do in front of all these people. There was no smirk returned, as Adam had what could be considered his "game face" on, simply staring back at his opponent as his hands moved to his sides.
"Fair enough."
He brought his fists up in front of him again, the right hand close to his chin while the left was a good distance out in front of his face. The fingers and thumb were sore on his right, and Adam could tell that they were at least sprained. That limited his options considerably, both in this round and, should it come to it, the next. Frustrating, to say the least.
Pain Killer walked closer, taking his time so as not to have him momentum used against him, before entering striking range with his arms, his left foot forward. Being much larger, Adam had a considerable reach advantage, something he planned on abusing to its fullest extent. His left hand flew forward, a quick palm-strike aimed for Taiku's nose. While not likely to be that damaging, a blow to the nose was difficult to ignore, as the body's reaction was to have the eyes water, likely to impair Taiku's sight should the attack land.

If Adam had expected that Taiku would be remaining still as he approached, the larger man would be greatly mistaken. Instead, Taiku would shift around to give himself move available room to his back and sides should he need it, at the same time his own movements would make him a harder target, even at a closer range like this. The disadvantage a fighter with such long reach often had, was that in order to utilise it the blow took that moment longer to swing than a shorter-range, close-up attack...
His arm was still painful, and with the attack coming as it was he couldn't risk using his closest limb to intercept it somehow...But, that in itself might be enough to give him the moment he needed. That might give him the opening to allow him to bring back the advantage in this fight in his favour.
The punch was thrown, and Taiku weaved to the right, though apparently not enough as the fist would collide firmly with his shoulder, twisting him sharply in to face Adam once again...Gritting his teeth with a harsh wince of pain, he managed a faint grin through it as his right fist, knuckles protruding to give a more focused impact, shot toward the lower section of the muscle near Adams elbow. The punch would be able to deaden the muscle, if nothing more, but it wasn't the reason he had allowed himself to take the punch as he had...
Adam had left his left foot forward once again, his body extended out from the punch to leave the limb particularly unguarded, and Taiku had feigned through taking the punch for the sole purpose of taking the chance in front of him. His left heel, quickly rising to slam down against the side of the bones, would use the force of the stomp to push off and enable his right foot to land with the older male back into his balance as a result of the simple little hop. He was counting on it having made some headway for the older male, if nothing more than making Adam tentative on using that left leg to try and overextend his reach, at best, well, he could hope the ankle just gave way again.

It was apparent that Taiku had never seen Adam throw a palm strike during a fight before, as otherwise, the older man would've known better than to simply take the blow or block it. The youngest living Rydell had a pattern, one that he supposed he should eventually get out of, except for the fact that it worked more often then not, and that was to use his palm strikes as a feint in order to grab his opponents. Pain Killer had never been given the opportunity to use this tactic before on Taiku, giving the larger student the element of surprise, and while his arm had been struck in the triceps, Adam's fingers would dig into the flesh of his opponent, gripping the shoulder. His thumb would drive into the front of Taiku's left shoulder, a painful hold considering the lack of protection for the nerves in that area.
There had been a reason Pain Killer had led with his left side for so long. Quite simply, it was bait, the comments made before their fight had began had inspired the idea, and while Adam had expected Kazuki to go for his ankle earlier, he hadn't given up hope that the man would attempt to do so at one point. The motion of Kazuki's leg moving was enough for Adam to realize his leg was in danger, and while Taiku's speed was much greater than Adam's, Pain Killer didn't truly need to cover any distance in order for his reaction to take effect.
The larger student drove his body towards Taiku, using the fact that his arm was already touching his opponent in order to throw the older man off balance, bending it at the elbow in order to put his forearm along the top of Kazuki's chest, near his throat, while his right foot thrust against the ground, giving him the force required. His left foot raised off the ground, although only by a few inches, as he swung it forward towards Taiku's supporting leg, intent on stomping on the former gang-leader's right foot. Coupled with the force of Adam pushing Taiku's upper body backwards, Taiku would find it a hard task to keep from falling backwards to the ring floor.

ooc: Frankly, I'm stuck for reactions here. The last paragraph is just assumption, and I expect you'll have another reaction anyway, which will excuse why I didn't particularly bother with it.
ic:
Unless Adams nails were long enough to claw into Taikus flesh, the touch of sweat atop his bare-chested skin would leave grabbing him a difficult thing to do for the younger man. As the fingers went for the clasp to his shoulder, Taiku simply jerked his shoulder away, a simple reaction to the attempted grab as Adams fingers clamoured at his skin. That, however, was the least of his matters at the moment...
Whilst his own arm should have put Adams right at a much more awkward angle than it currently was, he was faced with the larger fighters bulk to contend with as he, for all other wants and intents, shoulder-barged him. In the middle of his double-step, this would stutter his balance slightly but not completely, his own arm being pushed against his body with the reaction of Adams push. With the arm acting as a middle barrier between his opponents forearm and his upper body, he would push against the force of the drive as well, his left foot backing up to stabilise him a moment before shoving off of the floor to put his body in a side-ways motion away from the oncoming force of his larger foes brute strength. Effectively, whilst he could withstand the oncoming force for a moment or two, he was far safer to evade and get away from a frontal position.
He wouldn't lie, he was having troubles as it was. The ring at the size it was limited his ability to move around the bigger guy, and Adam seemed hell-bent on ensuring his victory in this match at any cost...
In the reasonable chance he was able to succeed, Taiku would be behind Adam to his opponents left side, assuming his forward momentum would continue to apply after the smaller fighter made his escape. He wouldn't waste time in catching his breath, however, as he swung his left foot back in a quick, low kick to the side of Adams kneecap.
