TrailerGod damn you be good. Please be good! I see superman being broken though. Unless they have kryptonite.

It will suck.
And it will ruin your faith in movie making.

I'm with Shamino. Not to be a cynic, but I can't help but look at the facts. For one, the Mortal Kombat franchise has plummeted drastically in the past few years. The jump to 3D hasn't been good on it, and the new character models and looks are, for the most part, pretty stupid. It looks like the designers tried way too hard to make them look 'cool', 'sexy', and/or 'bad ass'. A good design can do that without trying. So we're putting a franchise like that, up with DC Comics. I don't want to start any "Who's got the best Comics" flame wars here, but lets be honest: When was the last time you saw a GOOD game based on DC Comics? Marvel has Ultimate Alliance, the X-Men Legends Game, and Spider-Man 2: The Movie game. And that's just recently, not counting, say, Maximum Carnage: Spider-Man and Venom. DC had the god-awful Superman game for N64, the Superman Returns game for 360 that was supposedly 'decent', and the Justice League game that was completely shadowed over by MUA. All in all, it just looks like it's trying to win over the crowd of a certain popular franchise.I just don't think it's gonna work.

Since when have we taken cross overs seriously? I thought that was best left to second-rate authors that wrote terrible novels in the 1980s.
After all, if I ever saw a "Star Trek: TNG collides with X-Men" I'd just have to simply kill myself.
But I agree with Shamino and Aryck; this looks doomed, and I haven't even watched the trailer. It's simply not meant to be.

I'm still waiting for Odin and Shamino to admit to a three week old April Fool's joke. Odin with the delivery and Shamino with the photo shop. Sadly, I don't think it's coming.
I hate story mergers.

Since when have we taken cross overs seriously? Since Marvel vs. Capcom. Continuing with Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Since Namco stuck Link and Spawn in Soul Calibur 2 (Heihachi doesn't count). Uhhh, since that big Marvel vs. DC crossover a few years back (but not when they started merging heroes into one). I don't know what John's talking about, but crossovers are big in both comics and fighting games, so its only logical that crossing the two makes sense. Unfortunately, this one looks like a huge tank. Big nasty huge tank. tl;dr version: MvC good, MKvDC not good.

Heihachi does too count. And Darth Vader and Yoda will both count when they are thrown into SC4, too.
Back to the topic at hand, though. Even though they tend to ruin both series involved(Marvel vs. Capcom is the obvious exception), Crossovers are notorious for being smash hits as far as sales numbers are concerned. So recognize that the main reason this is being made is because it's basically free money for both of these franchises.
I'm just curious to see what sort of a piss-poor storyline they try to piece together to form this game around.

My logic was that Heihachi, like Yoshimitsu, is from the Tekken series, which is also from Namco, so its technically not an inter-company crossover like the others. Vader and Yoda totally count.
Oh, and Capcom vs. SNK rocks too. But apparently not SNK vs. Capcom. Ah well.

Say whatever you want about it, but I'm going to play it. The thing is, it doesn't matter to me how it really ends up turning out. Of course I hope it is good, but I'm not holding my breath. Its not like DC comics has been spouting anything good in the past half decade besides Batman Begins. Mortal Kombat, well, it wasn't orignally meant to be serious to begin with, but I'm a fanboy of the franchise, and even though this is a stupid match up, I enjoy both worlds, and I'll enjoy playing through them.

The Dark Knight comes out this summer, that'll be good too.
But yeah, who doesn't want to use superman to send Reptile flying through a brick wall into a pile of spikes? Or possibly ripe Supermans heart out... What, they have kryptonite in the MK universe, don't they?

... I was brought to believe this was a future movie, and not a video game. Though cross-over games aren't my thing anyway, so I'll leave that to you comic/fighter game fanboys, if ya don't mind...

I hate to say it, but this just looks like an epic fail waiting to happen. With all the fighting games out their now, most of them aren't even played by serious 'learn the combo' type of arcade nuts who made these games famous in the first place. Just another button masher with bad character match ups.
No offense, but IMO, DC and MK need to stay universes apart, for all that is good and decent in this world, oh and for my sanity too.
Seriously, voice overs for Batman, what the hell is he gonna say, "Stop terrorizing Gotham!?? Wait, what.."

I just think that people are putting it down before giving it a chance. Remember when you first heard Square-Enix and Disney were doing a crossover? Most god-awful thing I ever heard of.
Then Kingdom Hearts came out, and its one of my favorite video game series.

Then Kingdom Hearts came out, and its one of my favorite video game series. So far the best point in the topic. Honestly, I doubt it is some sort of canon storyline, so if they keep it balanced and fun I have no problem playing it.

Yeah, but KH2 was boring.
Anyway, despite my criticisms, like everybody else here, I'll still probably play it. My roommate/good friend and I are fighting game fanatics, we'll try anything once.

You know, i really dont think it looks half bad...
i mean, sure, these guys SHOULD just move on to other ideas instead of poking at theyre roadkill with a stick, but i think the trailor looks okay, and im big on fighting games too so ill probably give it a go.
If it sucks, then ill have a change of opinion, but as of right now i really dont think it looks that bad!
