Time to build a new world of Xin; and guess what folks, everyone's a part of it!
Now, just after we had Maverik begin the production of this board, the rest of us on "The Team" conversed for hours on what to do regarding the board's storyline, setting, and enviromnent. This thread is a product of several of those suggestions, as well as a bit of my own thrown in. What I state in the following is not solid and absolute. You can reply with agreements to my suggestions, disagreements, or your own suggestions. This thread is to help us build this board into our board, so be creative!
Either way, let's get started on my ideas, and the ideas of the "Team". To keep organized, I'll keep them in sections.
What is the Board location?
This is not a suggestion. On the contrary; this is just one of two precisely absolute factors of the new board. Thus far, the other absolute being the fact that we're in the Xin Universe still.
Therefore, the board's location is set in San Francisco, California of the United States of America. This city has everything we feel this board needs: a warm, pleasant region, with plenty of urban streets and skyscraper views, but also a vast range of space for the exploitation of San Francisco's neighboring suburbs, beaches, mountains, forests, and deserts. San Francisco is also commonly known as the foundation of the New Left Movement, a wing of the Civil Rights and Anti-War Movements back in the late 1960s and leading into the mid-1970s.
What is the name of the High School?
Considering the idea of High School youth being oppressed by the teachers and government is still the sole ideal of this board, it is clear that the center of the board is the High School we choose to Roleplay in. Therefore, what to name it? In our former board, the High School was Varron Academy, but if we're no longer there, then what is the name of this new school?
In my personal suggestion (seeing as we never even discussed the choice of a name last night in the group) I feel a good possible name for the school would be Hircine High. Now, while this sounds like a good name to me, let me fill you in on the symbolic background of the word: the term "Hircine" comes (in my eyes, it probably means more) from the name of a Daedra Prince (a Demonic God) of the Elder Scrolls Universe known as Hircine, the Prince of the Hunt. His entire sphere is the idea of the Predator and the Prey, the Strong and the Weak; therefore, it fits well with the scenery of this new school. Not to mention, but Hircine's common companion is a Wolf, and his minions are Werewolves, therefore, we could have the school sports teams as the Hircine Timber Wolves or something of this nature, with our school colors being green and black.
What are the sections of the "In School" Board?
In the group discussion last night, we chose to have a similar setup to the sections and sub sections of Varron Academy. They will work as follows; of course, these are arguable, and some may be mixed with my own suggestions:
[li]General "In School" section (with 3 Sub-Sections)
-- Cafeteria, for eating and lunch conversations
-- Rooftop, for quiet and intimate or loud and violent moments
-- Gymnasium, for classes, afterschool sports, or private training
[/li][li]School Grounds, for talks on the campus, but outside of the building (2 Sub-Sections)
-- Parking Lot, for anything that requires this scenery
-- Courtyard, for any event that requires such scenery
[/li][li]The Beach, for eased back weekends in bikinis and swim wear, or for after school swim team sessions.
[/li][/ul]
What are the Sections for the City Board?
This was barely covered in our discussion, so much of this will be based on my own thought:
[li]The Streets, for anything related to the City of San Francisco (4 Sub-Sections)
-- Apartments, for the need of home scenery
-- Hospital, for the need to heal
-- "The Edge", to represent Taiku's new establishment
-- "Crepps", to represent Shamino's new establishment
[/li][li]The Suburbs, for those who live outside of the city limits
[/li][li]The Outskirts, for any adventures elsewhere (3 Sub-Sections)
-- The Mountains, for those who love the snow and dirt
-- The Forest, for that piny fresh feeling
-- The Desert, for whatever devious intentions you have
[/li][/ul]
Beyond that, it all depends. I just felt it was necessary to depic that basic setup.
What happened? Why are we in San Francisco now?
Well, if you need the Real Life reason, check out the explanation thread. For the In Character reason, that's what this suggestion's for. Thus far we've all been asking how to explain this, but I feel we could have some possibilities with the following suggestion:
In Varron Roleplaying, Kvist's gang of The Hand of Fate attacks Taiku Akimoto's famous Varron hangout, The Edge, using firearms and molotov cocktails, with intent to destroy the building and its resident gang, Legion. Thus far on that board, Legion was successful in holding off the Hand, but with the sudden RL events, it has been left unfinished.
At the same time, The Nameless Masses leader Stern Mason has been planning a major catastrophe to occur in Varron Academy itself, in intended to lead up to a major riot. This has also been undone and never completed.
Therefore, to explain the sudden change and move to San Francisco, we can implement these events to lead to the new school.
Therefore, the fire at The Edge results in building's destruction, but the survival of Legion and the Hand of Fate. However, the Legion is without a home and temporarily in shell shock, attempting to survive and gain a new territory. In the meantime, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) discovers Kvist's involvement in the fire, and begins nosing into his whereabouts and activities. They eventually raid his properties, eventually discovering Ran Ling Xiao's mother and brother, and forcing Kvist to regroup and attempt to discover a means to escape the law.
Meanwhile, Stern Mason acts upon his plans at Varron Academy, using the aid of Violet Hunter, his closest minions of the Masses, and any Gangs influened by his control. They force the school to fall into lock down, resulting in the largest student-to-teacher battle since the Riot at 1368 a decade earlier. After several hours of engagements, the Police invade the school, arresting several dozen students, and eventually forcing the students into a bloody defeat. Several dozen teachers are unconscious, and hundreds of students are in pain or in a pool of blood. The Academy itself is completely trashed, and the School Administrator is forced to shut down the building until further notice, resulting in the State Government releasing a mandate that requires all Varron students to be spread across the nation in various schools.
Until one school, taking the place of Varron Academy before it, takes on the burden of the troublesome students, and invites nearly all of them to join the High School.
This High School is known to the San Francisco residents as Hircine High.
Work with this how you will, but let me know what you think on this thread.
