OOC: Is Dain back from his vacation yet? Isn't he just starting it tomorrow? Quote: Nice and early Sunday morning, I will be piling my ass into an SUV with my family and my girlfriend. (Posted July 10th) And his laptop is broken so unless Dain is dragging his Wii to the vacation trip... If anything, I hope that Dain concludes my Pillars of Peace thread so that I can give my character some direction!
IC: Four rounds total. Ten minutes each for the first two rounds, twenty minutes each for the last two rounds assuming the opponent lasts that long. Total of an hour of fighting, with a minimal gap between fights depending on the time of clean up, whether or not your next opponent is done with their fight, and the time it takes for entrance. It was designed to be finished in a night. It seemed as if the tournament was created in Kit's favor, as high endurance and a strong cardiosystem was Kit's strengths. The few minutes necessary for cleaning would be all Kit needed to fully recover in terms of breathe, and his strength would only grow stronger as the tournament went on, as everyone tired out, assuming he didn't take much major hits or any hits for that matter.
Kit smirked when Odin noted that there would be no low blows or perverted contact. In a recent fight, Kit had thrown a low blow at Darren, as he told Kit not to hold back and given the situation, Kit didn't bother to think of a more honorable move. However, this time Kit would not be allowed to utilize such tactics so he would be sure to remember it.
As for why Kit had even decided to enter such a tournament, the answer was simple. Kit was not one to fight meaningless fights, if he were to enter a fight, it was either for his own benefit or pride or for the benefit of another. It would not be fought if another person simply wanted to fight him. Kit had held back the fighting for pride part a bit however, as he realized the wrong it had back when he fought for his breakdancing group. The reason Kit entered this particular brawl however, was to test his fighting skills to that of mostly Hircine students. If he were to be of use to the Pillar system, he would need to fight on par with them. Otherwise, how would he handle difficult situations in which violence was necessary to suppress the students?
Kit would not need to change. He would be wearing a plain black hoody that contained airholes for ventilation, along with a white A-Shirt (wifebeater) under it. The wifebeater would be tucked into his black sweatpants, which covered a bit of his white adidas sneakers. Kit chose black because he didn't want to dirty his other clothes. It would not make a noticable difference on his black outfit. His outfit was chosen given the style that Kit had utilized. Kit would also have his hair covered up under a black beanie.
Kit would do a flip into the ring and await his opponent. His ready stance would consist of his left arm bent, knuckles facing the sky, with his right arm bent, horizontal and diagonal to his body, fist facing his would be opponent. A warm up was not necessary for Kit, as he was always warm due to his fast paced walking and dodging of the slow moving citizens in his way.
Kit would greet his opponent upon their arrival with a bow and launch into his ready stance while bouncing on the toes of his feet.

(OOC: Yo. I'm here, and my g/f's bringing her laptop, so I SHOULD be able to keep up, though it may be slow going this coming week.)
"Sup?" Dain asked cordially as he hopped into the ring in which he would be facing his opponent. Unlike him, Dain had opted the 'no-shirt' route, instead sporting a pair of blue athletic pants with two white stripes down each leg. He knelt down and re-laced his Vans skate sneaks, having a tiny bit more struggle involved than usual due to the black athletic tape wrapped around his palms and wrists, all the way to just under halfway up his forearm, and ran his hands through his newly-trimmed hair as he eyed the boy bowing before him. Unless the match-up and time sheet had lied to him, this fellow was Kit Lee, a younger high school student. If all went as planned, Dain might end up teaching this boy before too long.
The thought caused the young man to smirk, and he shook his head, both to get a feel for his new haircut and to wipe the grin off his face.
Rolling his shoulders to loosen up, Dain looked around at the environment they were to be fighting in. A standard boxing-type ring, four sides, roped off. He tossed himself into the ropes, back-first, testing their give and bounce. He nodded to no one in particular and finally took the remaining few steps to get within fighting range of Kit.
"I guess you're Kit Lee, then? I'm Dain. Now that formalities are aside... what say we get to the whoopass?"
Dain grinned and winked, then, rolling his shoulders one last time, assumed a loose boxing-style stance. He carefully bobbed up and down on the balls of his feet, his heels only barely touching the ground each time, leading with his right side.
"You wanna kick this bad boy off, or should I?"

OOC: Sounds good.
A shirtless man had entered the ring, greeting with a simple sup, followed by his name. Dain, a man Kit had not met before or even seen around Hircine. Kit would not need to introduce himself as Dain already got his name down. As Dain got into his ready stance, Kit prepared his, noting that the two of them had a bit of a similiar stance.
"You wanna kick this bad boy off, or should I?"
"Allow me," Kit said as he would throw a fast low kick at the side of Dain's right knee with his left leg as Dain already had positioned himself within fighting distance of Kit. The bouncing Kit did was to cloak which leg he threw out to kick and would stop as he needed to ground himself to throw the fast kick.

Dain's eyes never left his opponent's midsection as he bounced around, likely in an attempt to either keep himself loose, or throw off Dain's concentration and toss in a sneak attack opener. It was a general rule of thumb, at least in the older fighter's eyes, to keep your eyes generally focused upon the waist of an opponent. The eyes can lie, as well as all the other body parts, but one never commits with their midsection unless they are truly going forth with the attack. Thus, Kit's midsection shifted as he kicked out in an extremely fast low kick, heading towards the older teacher-to-be's right knee. Dain, seeing it just ahead of time, simply raised his knee up moments before the kick would connect, balancing on one foot for just a moment as he took the kick on the shin instead, moving Kit's leg upward a bit with his own to lessen the momentum slightly, dulling the impact somewhat. It stung somewhat, as Dain's shins weren't deadened to pain like a Muay Thai fighter's, but it was infinitely better than taking it full to the knee.
To retaliate, Dain quickly kicked his right leg forward at the knee, making a snap kick that would do little to no damage at all, but with Kit's leg against Dain's as it was, would push the leg away and possibly imbalance the younger fighter. Quickly after snapping his leg forward, however, he would retract it back, pulling himself right back into his loose boxing stance.
Dain raised an eyebrow and let a little smirk out, beckoning with his right hand in a quick 'come on' gesture, almost as if he were goading Kit to attack again.

Dain would take the hit to the shin instead as he lifted up his right leg to avoid a blow to the knee. In addition, he also shifted Kit's leg a bit, and further delaying it's landing by snapping his right leg in an attempt to throw off Kit's balance. However, due to the short distance of the retaliation as their legs were close together, all it did was push Kit's leg a bit higher. Seeing that no further movement was made to close in and do a counter attack, Kit would simply hop a small step back on his right foot and land his left foot to regain full balance once more. Dain would be retracting his leg at this instance as well, and then recovering into his starting stance.
As he goaded Kit to attack, Kit already started the movement towards Dain. Somebody had to attack, and if Dain wasn't, Kit would do so. This was an endurance based tournament, and Kit would not give Dain any extra seconds to rest. He wanted every second to matter, every second to be meaningful, in his pursuit to find how his skill matched up to the others.
Of course, in a fight, the defender had the upper hand over the aggressor assuming the defender was alert of the attack. The defender would be able to utilize the openings left by the aggressor, while blocking or avoiding the attack that they had expected coming. So Kit would once again try to trick Dain into creating an opening. Kit threw out his left leg once more as if repeating the same opening move but instead stamped it down and shot his right leg for a quick strike at the knee once more from the side, only this time it was at Dain's left leg.

Unfortunately for Kit, Dain, in that one opening blow, had learned far more about Kit Lee and his fighting style than one might think. In actuality, Dain was only working on an educated guess, but as long as it worked, then it worked, and if he were wrong, then he would just have to start making better guesses. In Dain's world of Theoretical Martial Arts, it was paramount to assess and understand how your opponent moved, how they thought, how they fought. Being the creator of such a style, Dain had done his best to perfect it. As such, the young man was rather frighteningly accurate with his observations, even with the slightest of indications. Through the simple moves that Kit had made, Dain had deduced that Kit was likely a kick-based fighter, as most who favored punches, or even a mix of the two limbs, tended to open with quick punches, and prided himself on his agility, from using a switch-hop to regain balance. Also, the kick to the knee gave away Kit's initial battle strategy: He was playing a common strategic opener and attempting to take away Dain's mobility from the get-go.
With this deduced information running through his head, Dain focused once more upon Kit's midsection as he came forward again. Dain assumed he would go again for a similar attack, likely not the same one, but with the intent of bringing down his legs. Thus, when Kit struck out with his left leg again, Dain was skeptical. He began to raise his knee again like last time, but a bit more cautiously. He would still block the blow, but not as effectively as before. That is, if Kit was actually attacking. He stamped the foot back down, and Dain quickly reacted. As Kit stepped down, Dain, with his raised leg, stepped to his right, his foot hitting the ground about half a second after Kit's own did. This would put him a bit more out of range from any kind of followup that involved attacking his legs easily. Though Dain assumed another low attack, he still kept his hands up and ready in their stance, in case Kit decided to follow his feint with a punch instead.
He didn't, and attempted a mirror version of the previous attack, attacking his left knee instead of the right. Dain, however, was ready to counterattack. His trailing leg from the step was his left, and it was just coming to a rest as Kit struck out. Pushing off with his right foot, Dain met Kit's kick with a left foot of his own, kicking out with a hard, but low, side kick. He aimed the heel of his left foot to strike Kit's ankle. Dain intended to turn the tables against Kit, using his own strategy of weakening mobility against him, just as he was using the momentum of Kit's own kick against him as well, to put more damage into the connecting strike.

OOC: As discussed in the PM, misunderstanding in the attacking foot that Dain had used. The case is now cleared up, thank you Dain for the clarification, sorry once again for the delay as stated in PM had to go to work.
The moment Kit shot his left leg out, Dain was already reacting to it by raising his leg. Kit would notice that as he ended the false kick, Dain would take a side step with his right that was previously raised probably in anticipation of an attack Kit was going to do but turned out to be a bluff. Of course, as Kit shot his side kick with his right leg, he knew there would be a counter attack with Dain's shift in position and preparedness when Kit had threw the false kick at him. The counter came with what appeared to be Dain's left heel toward's Kit's foot, particularly, Kit's ankle.
Why did Kit continue to attack Dain's left knee though Dain had clearly stepped away and was most likely ready to counterattack? The reason was because Kit had started the attack, he could not stop the motion of the follow up instinct he had in his mind at the current moment. However, Kit was not going to allow Dain to strike him. As Dain's kick came near, Kit would simply drop his leg and bend his knee foward, thereby completing two things. Dain would end up tapping the midsection of Kit's right leg between the ankle and the knee. It would be a tap since Dain would most likely follow the momentum foward. Also, since Kit had stopped short a few inches before Dain would have landed a hit on the ankle, had Kit not done anything, it would extend Dain's leg a bit further than original thereby losing a bit of the power it had. In addition, Kit was wearing sweatpants which would also aid in absorbing the impact.
The second part of this, was the sudden shift foward after Dain would land his foot on the midsection of Kit's lower leg. As Dain's leg was extended further than original intention (which was the kick to Kit's ankle), Kit would be able to utilize this and push foward thereby attempting to throw Dain off balance as it had in that split second relied upon Kit's leg. The diagonal plane would become vertical and Dain having an extended leg would either become pushed himself or would need to bend his knee midway after being pushed a little to avoid a stronger shove.
Kit would make use of this opening and lunge foward that he had actually also completed when he had landed his leg and shifted his knee foward. Kit would throw an uppercut with his right arm.

Dain's eyes narrowed somewhat as Kit cancelled his move early, dropping the leg into a half-kneeling position, somewhat, causing the attacking foot to no longer have a clear attack destination in range. Instead of crashing into Kit's ankle and taking the leg out of commission, the top of Dain's foot tapped in the middle of Kit's lower leg. In an instant, the attack was nullified and almost no damage was taken. It was an aggravating move, in Dain's eyes, but little more.
However, Kit assumed too much in his own movement afterwards. Dain's foot would not come to rest upon Kit's leg at all. Dain couldn't very well change the direction of his kick, nor could he even move his legs around and change plans as easily as Kit could. He didn't have to. A simple shift, a little extra push and a bend of the foot, and Dain's foot, after it's initial contact with the side of Kit's calf, simply passed over it to land on the other side. Dain was over-extended a bit, but luckily his sense of balance payed off. He sat, almost straddling Kit's right leg, in a fashion, as the younger boy's foot was on the inside of Dain's left foot.
As Kit pushed forward with said foot, Dain, sensing he could cause an opening, acted swiftly. His right foot slid across the floor, coming towards Kit's, but behind it, as Dain's body followed suit to the slide, falling to the ground. As he landed, Dain scissored Kit's raised right leg with his own legs, his left calf in front and his right one behind. His left leg pressed upon the toes, pushing them back down as his other leg used the left one like the fulcrum of a lever, hopefully utilizing the forward momentum to override Kit and bring him to the floor.
However, the rest of Dain's body was all but inactive. His hands would be in work as well, simultaneously assisting in the bodily trip attack and defending himself, as well. Dain's left hand would reach around Kit's left leg from the outside, and he would mimic the scissor-motion with his arms, using his right elbow to push against the right foot and the left hand to pull forward at the easily-bended knee joint. Dain kept his arms in as tight as possible, however, tensing his body to prepare for any retaliatory damage, and bringing his left arm around the outside of the leg, instead of the inside, left his forearm in the way of the vital organs at his chest for added protection.
There was little Kit would be able to do in order to stop the fall, however, it, in and of itself, would likely result in little actual damage, especially since the student would still have full use of his hands in order to break the fall. Thus, Dain, after the boy would fall forward, would tighten his legs' grip around Kit's own, attempting to keep him from getting away quickly, and he would sit up, rolling with the boy's fall to save time as he would push himself up as if he were doing a push-up to get behind and on top of Kit, delivering a few sound punches to the boy's kidneys at his lower back.

OOC: Due to uncertainty I have in your post and lack of time (I would like to continue this fight thread but since I can only check the forum for two hours at night during weekdays and you are on vacation and PM communication would lead to another delay of two whole posts that could have went toward this thread) I will write my response and hopefully it matches your original intention of your post. Assumptions made: Dain is attempting to somehow wrap Kit's right leg that is bent NOT raised (Kit had landed his leg before he pushed foward at the moment Dain's leg would land upon it) with his left leg on the outside and the right leg sliding to the inside thereby clamping Kit's right leg between the two. Timing for this would require Dain to have some sort of block with his hand(s) as I have stated that Kit would be throwing an uppercut and by the time Dain wraps his leg around Kit, there is no way Kit would not have been long passed throwing an uppercut. In addition, Dain would be moving toward Kit so it would seem that he is moving straight into the uppercut attack. Assumption that Dain has blocked Kit's uppercut with atleast one hand. Even if he somehow manages to pull all this off before Kit can do an uppercut, I believe my attack will work. IC: Kit would have his uppercut blocked and at the same moment be wrapped by Dain's legs as Dain would utilize his other hand to further pull on Kit's leg and push him straight to the floor. Kit would fall, ready for retaliation. As he fell, Kit would use both hands and grab ahold of Dain. One would grab Dain's left shoulder the other would be placed upon Dain's chest. Dain would be pulled in as he was holding onto Kit's leg and falling in his direction so Kit would simply make use of the perfect situation. Kit would perform a sacrifice throw as he would extend his held leg and control the direction of the throw with his hands. This would give Kit recovery time to get up from the fall in addition to injuring Dain as the throw generally resulted in a bad landing that would injure the opponent. Kit would also have impact absorbed as he saw the fall coming when Dain was wrapping his legs in addition to the hoody that he had sported. Dain on the other hand, not wearing even a shirt would not have such a luxury. Kit would return to his original starting stance following this throw.
