Outside the small room filled with this night’s combatant the crowds began to grow and swarm every available seat and makeshift bottom rest-er. There were a total of twenty bodies in the small room, some of which remained sitting on the two parallel benches that were in front of each row of lockers. Other’s, like the tournament host, were standing, though he was the only one in front of the door.
“Okay, I’ll try to make this short and sweet. The first two rounds are what we’ll consider qualifying rounds, as such they aren’t going to last as long as the semi’s and finals. I’m making sure of this by setting a time limit on everyone’s match. First two rounds have a time limit of ten minutes. Once the time runs out it goes to the judges. Also, unlike other tournaments this will be held all in one night. So if you’re out of shape, your out of luck.”
Taking a few seconds he looked around the room, judging each and every individual as he looked toward their expressions. What did they think of themselves? Was their confidence high, or extremely low? Mind games were already being played, and Odin himself was already contributing to that by stating simple facts of fighting.
“The semi’s and finals will be pushed up to twenty minutes, which should be more then enough time to finish off your opponent. If not, give yourself a pat on the back for lasting that long, but know it’ll have serious effects as your matches become closer together.
“There will be two matches held at a time, as made present by the two separate twenty by twenty rings in the main area. Once a match is finished we’ll be getting right into the next one. Worst case scenario – time wise - is that the first round takes 40 minutes, not including clean-up and entering.
“If you don’t show up to your match within the first two minutes of being called, you’re disqualified. After your match you will have some down time, but don’t count on it being too long. If you win, come back to this locker room. If you lose, you’re free to change and leave, or you may spectate. However, you can’t stay in the locker room. You’ll have to respect each fighter’s time to prepare however they want in order to compete in their next match.”
Rubbing the back of his neck Odin showed his discomfort, never having talked for so long to a single crowd without breaking for someone else to talk back. It was…Unusual, but it couldn’t be avoided.
“I guess the last thing I have to say is that reserve fighters are only able to qualify to fight if someone does not show up to either their first or second match. After that if a fighter doesn’t show then he or she is disqualified.”
Turning away from the group of combatants he nearly forgot to mention one other detail, which was more prioritized to general rules in fighting.
“If you happen to be fighting a women, or for the lady vice versa, then refrain from your primal instincts to fight. If I see any perverted contact that is intentional – which is my call – then you will be disqualified. Other then that, follow the basic rules, which in this case anything highly frowned upon, such as groin shots, are illegal.”
[OOC Rules: First and second rounds are fifteen posts per Rp’er. Thirty-one in total with the opening post before judging commences. Semi’s and finals are twenty-five per Rp’er.
Matches still last a week OOC, but the tournament is held in one single night IC.
You have 24 hours to make your initial post, then another 24 hours to reply to your opponent with each post made. If you can’t make it, notify myself, and if I’m busy with one of my jobs, notify the Admin.
