Dressed up in his traditional attire, Jellar entered the gymnasium, quite ready to enter a fight the day that came. The rules of the tournament were clear; if Jellar sustained heavy damage in this fight, there would be no time to recover for sure. Fights were held within short lengths of each other, and thus Jellar would have to focus on sustaining minimal damage while defeating his opponent clearly. He wanted to be the winner. Why? It was not for glory at all. It was not for proving his fighting skills at all. It was for his purpose in the Watchmen. To earn a rank of officer and be fit to command fellow Watchmen; the ability to do this was why Jellar was going to fight today. No mercy would be shown to the opponent unless absolutely necessary.
He entered the gym in his silk attire. He gained lots of attention immediately, mainly sneers at his clothing. Those were ignored easily, and he was soon directed to the basement. He waited on a bench for his name to be called, keeping silent and ignoring others for the moment. The only thing that bothered him was the anxiety of finding out who his opponent was. His last tournament provided him with Kyukaku, and their fight was lead to a draw. Following that, Jellar fell to Aryck Venn, causing an abrupt death to his career in his tournament. Now his second tournament came about. He was ready, well prepared mentally and physically; in his prime.
At last, the awaited call was made. "Jellar Feint." His name was called and Jellar stood up, exhaling deeply, calming his adrenaline. He opened his eyes and made way to the ring.
It was a standard sized boxing ring. It was not exactly what Jellar preferred. Enclosed areas left little back room for Jellar to retreat to. Because Jellar's fighting style was based on striking and moving back wards, an enclosed ring was not to Jellar's satisfaction. However, he dealt with this in the last tournament he was in, so he would deal with it again. He walked into the opening and into the ring, and was greeted with the gigantic roar of the crowd. Because he was Chinese and because of the clothing he was wearing, there were some disapproving boos and sneers, but they had no effect on Jellar at all. All there was to do was wait for his opponent to enter, and then fight him.

Nothing else like a good fight on your first night out in San Fransisco huh?
Kyukaku walked through the doors of the gym a little late, thanks to his lack of knowing where the hell the place was. He had been told over and over, but it didn't seem to help. He had to face it, he never knew where the hell he was going.
Proceding downstairs, Kyu dropped his bag on the old looking bench. Pulling out his traditional Karate gi Kyu sighed softly. It had been a long time since he had worn the thing. The few months in prison didn't help that situation. Even then, when he had gotten out it still didn't feel right to put the thing on. He had still trained sure, but only in a pair of shorts or sweats.
But that was then. Things were bad, now they are getting better, right? Maybe getting back into it will center me more. Bring back the mental balance to my techniques.
Following the gi, Kyu put on his traditional belt and headband, ending with his karate gloves. It felt a little weird with everything on but it was familiar, and that was a good thing. Kyu walked upstairs, just in time to see his old acquaintince Jellar get called up into the ring. Kyu smiled, Jellar was a friendly man and a fellow martial artist like himself, not just into the fighting for the violence.
To his surprise, Kyu's name was called next. It took a moment to register, but it seemed he was later than he thought. He didn't expect to fight this early. At least Kyu had no problems with jumping in cold. It was actually his preference. Walking up the stairs Kyu popped into the ring after Jellar, offering his hand to the man.
"Like old times huh? Last time we both moved on, it'll be interesting to see what happens this time."

To Jellar's surprise, he was going to be fighting Kyukaku in the first round. He watched Kyukaku follow him into the ring and offer his hand. Indeed, it was like old times. Grasping his hand, Jellar responded with a firm tone.
"I feel nostalgic."
He let the grip go and stepped away slowly, giving distance between the two, but not too much, hoping Kyukaku would step away further for giving starting distance. He didn't want to enclose himself too close to the ropes just yet. Once all was settled for distance, Jellar would slide into a rather narrow stance. His right leg would be forward, but his body would not really be turned. His left foot would only be two feet from his right foot, slightly to the left and slightly to the back. Both of his hands were out in front, relaxed until necessary. Once this was done, Jellar looked Kyukaku in the eyes and spoke through his gaze.
'Let's go.'
This time, Jellar wasn't planning to fight to a tie.

[Intro]May we be introduced to Ruth, Valencia’s good friend whom is a lesbian… And damn proud of it. Her girlfriend would be Gladys, who often goes out with Ruth to watch the tournaments that Pillar Kurtz hosts. Of course, the two don’t just merely watch, scream, and cheer, since they seldom found fighters worth watching, screaming, and cheering for. What the two of them did was act as commentators, narrating every move worth narrating and squeezing in remarks here and there. As regulars, the duo always seemed to have a seat in the next best place, since the best seats were often reserved for the rich folks. Somewhere in the bleachers, just high enough to see over the standers was a clear enough view to see the action. Sure, the place was constantly hammered by the sound of rabid spectators, but somehow… Someway… Their voices were always loud enough to be heard over the din. Call it years of practice. That bit of exposition done, the two were well aware of Valencia’s growing interest with the Varron transfers and their issues with Hircine’s way of running things, so they invited her to come and watch the slaughtering. Needless to say, Valencia was more than glad to take up on their offer and here she was off to Ruth’s side, “assisting” in the commentating whenever Ruth and Gladys felt like having a third voice give some snide remarks. [Yellow] ~{é~{é~{é}~é}~é}~ [/yellow] [RUTH]: “Well well well! If my eyes aren’t fooling me, here comes a Varronian of oriental descent, decked in traditional garb, honoring his heritage, and ready to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee! JELLAR FEINT!!” Gladys stifled with laughter as Jellar made his way to the arena, which led to Ruth looking to her girlfriend with a disapproving glance as she placed her hands on her hips, all akimbo-like. Gladys shook her head, laughed a bit, then wiped away an imaginary tear, finishing up with snicker. [GLADYS]: “Ahh… That’s rich! What kind of Asian name is ‘Jellar’?! It rhymes with ol’ yeller! And—And just look at what he’s wearing! This ain’t a fashion show!” Ruth tsk tsked and shook a finger at Gladys before eloquently motioning over to Valencia sitting beside her, whom was wearing a white beret with a matching white loose-fitting shirt and a long black skirt. The Vietnamese “blonde” took this as a cue to speak, so she did. “I’ve fought in ao dai’s, kimonos, cocktail dresses, and even a hula skirt. If what he’s wearing gets in the way, then he has to deal with it… Otherwise, I’m sure he has to be pretty capable if he’s wearing it at all.” Gladys shrugged and took what Valencia said into consideration before clearing her throat and getting ready to introduce the fighter that she’s betting on. Her face went pale when she saw what he was wearing. [RUTH]: “And you said that the guy I was betting on had a weird fashion sense… He’s not even Asian…” [GLADYS]: “Eheheh… Ladies and gentlemen, is this going to be a match of the misfits or what! The next Varronian who’s gonna enter the ring is a young man who’s been honing his skills against all odds… Hell, he probably trains up in the mountains fighting bears and meditating under waterfalls! In short, this young man was built win and boy, is he worth more than the sum of his parts! KYUKAKU!!” After hearing the introductions, Valencia adjusted the beret on her head and glued her eyes onto the ring. As soon as the first blow is given, Ruth and Gladys will have something less trivial to get riled up about. This is the first tournament she’s ever attended, so she intended to stick around during all of the fights to get all the information she needed. She smiled to herself as Ruth and her girlfriend continued to murmur not so nice things under their breath because she knew that those two didn’t simply bet on one fighter and watched to see if that one fighter was going to win the whole caboodle. That’d kill the fun if the person they betted on flopped too early. Ah well… Whatever made the two happy made Valencia happy. If only those two didn’t mooch off of me so often… I know that my stunts get me plenty of income, but…((OOC: I'm assuming that all the fights take place at different times for it to be possible for Valencia to witness all the fights. If I assumed incorrectly, feel free to delete posts.))

Kyu smirked at Jellar's response, shaking his hand before taking a few steps back in sync with Jellar. As he stepped back, Kyu heard a few shouts about a bear and meditating a waterfall, followed by the mentioning of his name. Kyu shot a confused but amused look off in the direction he thought it was coming from, but quickly brushed it off and chuckled as he looked back to his opponent.
When Jellar looked up to meet Kyu's gaze, the look in his eye seemed to signal his readyness. Kyu would lead with his left side, shuffling past the middle of the ring and into striking distance of his opponent. Once this was reached, Kyu's left arm would shoot out from its resting position across his stomach, whipping from the eblow into a quick backhand with a relaxed fist towards Jellar's face.
This was merely for reactionary purpose, as depending on what Jellar would do, even if it meant getting hit, his next actions would dictate Kyukaku's own. Keeping his right fist just under his jaw in a balanced stance, Kyu was ready for anything.
I don't want to hurt Jellar, but it wouldn't honor him to hold back anymore...Here I come!

Jellar was mocked in a couple of ways by a loud spectator, but he had been used to this kind of thing. He would not have worn the clothing he was wearing without being prepared to sustain any sort of negative comment about his own, and he had already been through those kinds of things in other places. It was simply nothing to concern Jellar, so he brushed off the comments with ease.
Returning to the bigger attention of the fight, Jellar noted Kyukaku's movements starting. Coming directly to Jellar's, he rotated his position accordingly so that he would face Kyukaku. He neared, and once in striking range, sent a quick jab. Reading the attack easily, Jellar reacted accordingly.
He shifted to his left, almost with a small sliding hop, while sending his left arm in a perpendicular path to Kykukaku's own left arm. Rotating around Kyukaku for about 80 degrees, Jellar would push Kyukaku's striking arm away with a palm strike. Following that, Jellar sent his own strike towards the vulnerable part of Kyukaku's bicep with his left arm. The strike was fast and sharp. Not necessarily strong, but it would sting and leave an uneasing pain should it hit. He quickly retracted his arm after striking and slid backwards accordingly, knowing that Kyukaku's right arm and both legs were still ready to attack.
Kyukaku had breached Jellar's comfort zone, and after he attacked, Jellar simply countered and backed away, just as he was trained to do.

(OOC: I think I got it now, but I can see the move being to my inside or outside. I'm going to take it to my inside as it makes the most sense in my eyes, but if I'm mistaken let me know.)
Kyukaku had fought Jellar before, and the in and out fighting style he used was familiar to him. It was like how a dog would fight, moving in for a bite and quickly getting out of distance. It was the same strategy Kyu often used on bigger opponents, and was the only thing that kept him from getting killed by Ein Gilsin many months ago.
Kyu pivoted on his left foot as his arm was deflected by Jellar, stepping towards the man with his right foot as he rotated at his shoulder cuff, sending a right elbow strike to the left temple of Jellar's head.
By stepping in, Jellar's strike to the bicep wouldn't be able to reach accross Kyu's body as he torqued to the left for the strike. Jellar was quick, but he would need room to maneuver. Crowding the man while sending a strike would hopefully complicate his movements, causing Kyu to have an easier time with this fight.

(OOC: You pretty much hit the spot.)
As expected, Jellar was not going to have an easy time with Kyukaku. His arm became out of reach and of course, there was going to be a counterattack. However, Jellar was already preparing to retreat backwards in the case of a counterattack in the first place, so the short-ranged elbow strike was easily avoided with his backwards motion. However, he would not let Kyukaku continue his attacks without any consequence.
Once barely out of range of the elbow strike as it swung in front of his face, Jellar hopped backwards, knowing well that the elbow strike could double its own range to have a full, extended arm. However, during the hop, Jellar sent his leg up in a snap kick with pinpoint accuracy to Kyukaku's elbow. The type of execution imitated his first attack; it was sharp, precise, quick, but not exactly strong. The idea was the same, except it was a kick.
After the kick, he would land farther back from Kyukaku, as his kick was executed while he fled in the air. He landed shortly and, after quickly gauging the distance between him and the back of the ropes by looking beyond Kyukaku to see how far the ropes were in front and calculating appropriately how much room was behind him, resumed his prior stance, waiting for Kyukaku's next offensive.

Jellar would not want to stay and take the hit, and the most likely place for him to move would be backwards. Kyu had counted on this fact, and as Jellar bounced backwards, it hinted off to Kyu that Jellar would kick. It was a good idea, as it got him out of distance and was quick enough.
But Kyukaku was ready for it.
Rotating counterclockwise at the shoulder, Kyu's elbow extended til his arm was at a ninety degree angle, his palm slapping against Jellar's inner shin as his fingers closed down on the leg. Kyu scooped the leg, his hand holding it up even if just for a moment, for it was all he needed.
Kyu would slide in with his left foot easily sweeping out Jellar's leg from behind since Kyu was in control of his balance while holding the leg. To increase this effect, Kyu would also quicky grab Jellar's lapel with his left simultaneously, finding a grip inbetween the sets of buttons as his fingers snaked inside for a tight grasp.
If all went well and Jellar found himself sweeped to the ground, Kyu would lift his grasp from the leg as he went down to a knee inbetween Jellar's legs, following up with a quick but hard right punch to his head as he kept his grasp on the shirt.

Jellar, knowing full well that he was vulnerable against grapples in particular, knew that it was necessary to get out of the one that Kyukaku had gotten on his left leg at the ankle. Well, if you could call it a grapple. It was more of a slim hold that, with the appropriate amount of shift in Jellar's center of balance, would be easy to get out of. However, that was if he was undisturbed. The idea was that he needed to make his way toward the left, and given that he only had one leg to do it on, the only option was to hop unless Jellar wanted to fall down, which was not a good idea.
So thus, Jellar watched for any continuation of attack from Kyu, and found it. The leg was coming towards Jellar's own leg in an almost sweeping motion. Of course, lucky as Jellar had it, sweeping was usually dodged with a hop. He took advantage of this to hop to his left, following the direction he was being pulled due to the irregular arm position of Kyu's shoulder while turning the body, and he hopped twice more consecutively towards that same direction.
For Kyukaku to have any more control of Jellar's ankle, he would have to change his grip. The current grip offered little control other than using gravity to hold his leg or ability to push outward. However, the outward direction was the direction that Jellar was hopping in, thus nullifying any more control.
It was easy to slip his leg out from the hold as Jellar swung it to the left, friction almost ignored due to the slippery feel of the silk clothing that he was wearing.
From those hops, Jellar's back was now toward a corner instead of a wall of roles. Again, he gauged the distance to measure six or seven feet behind him. Not enough room, and he could get cornered easily from this. He resumed his first position once again and began circling slowly away from the corner. Even if the distance to the corner was greater, Jellar knew that he would most likely fall into the corner. Escape routes were at zero there, when escape routes were at two on the ropes.

Jellar had managed to hop just high enough to slip over Kyu's leg, also sliding out of ankle scoop. This was unfortunate for Kyukaku, but the attack would be far from over. Jellar had to do multiple things, causing him to be unable to react to everything. The grip with his left hand had found a tight hold on Jellar's shirt as Kyu had a fistful of the silk clothing milliseconds after his fingers had slipped inbetween the rows of cloth buttons around Jellar's sternum.
Since Kyu's left leg had swept merely through air, he had found solid footing and pushed forward on his left foot as he took a step with his right. The same time Jellar would have hopped a second time to regain balance, but Kyu wouldn't give him time. The second his foot left the ground, Kyu pushed forward with his grasping hand and matching left foot, the enclosed fist easily moving Jellar back as he stepped forward and would continue driving the man back until he was against the turnbuckle.
If this worked, Kyu would simply bring his right hand up, cracking Jellar in the side of his face with a fist as he held his firm grip on the cloth.

'Shit,' Jellar thought, knowing that he miscalculated Kyukaku's moves. The grasp on his cloth gave Kyukaku a somewhat firm hold on Jellar, although the grasp would have to have some leeway if used to throw as a result of the bagginess of the silk that Jellar was wearing. In any case, Jellar found himself pinned to the corner in no time, his balance thrown off from the sudden charge. His calculations became screwed, but that was only for then. It was an easy matter to regroup and rethink, and Jellar, after learning of Kyukaku's habit to follow up, knew that another attack was coming.
He couldn't see Kyu's legs, but they weren't of any use to his opponent as they supported the push that had Jellar in the corner. The only thing that could come up was either Kyukaku's own head or his right hand, and he didn't see Kyu's head taking action. The right arm definitely had to be, if anything was coming at all. To make sure, Jellar glanced downwards, and he was right. The rough fist would come into the side of Jellar's head, and he knew there was no way to avoid it.
But if there was no way to avoid it, then the next best thing was to minimalize damage.
'This is going to hurt,' Jellar thought as the fist came. However, just as the fist made contact with Jellar's skin, Jellar through turned his head violently to the right. It was a simple matter of the impulse-momentum theory. If you increase the time of contact, the force is lower even if the change in momentum was the same. Jellar simply increased the time as much as possible with his head spin.
However, the head spin wasn't going to get rid of all the force. He felt a bruise on his cheek bone and his head was ringing with pain. Even if the hit did not land with full force, it was still painful as ever. However, Jellar wasn't going to let Kyu's right arm come back to attack. He turned to his right, letting the pushing force of Kyukaku's arm slide into the corner, while using his turning to build up momentum for his left arm. Kyukaku, after hopefully falling into the corner with his hand, would be a little stunned and not notice Jellar turning to attack. Hopefully, Kyukaku would think that he had the upper hand and not feel that Jellar could counter in the situation, but in fact he could.
Using the turn, Jellar's left hand formed a grip and he sent his fist at maxmimum power and speed to Kyukaku's waist. However, while doing this, Jellar antipated an elbow strike from Kyukaku's right arm, so he ducked his head down to avoid any such thing, lowering his center of gravity and pushing the limits of Kyukaku's grasp with the bagginess. However, if Kyukaku did take advantage of the grasp, there was nothing to do except pull which would only fuel the fire for Jellar's punch. Jellar thought that a right knee would be possible, but he would deal with it if it came.

Kyu successfully charged Jellar into the turnbuckle, stepping forward with his right foot and connecting with a right punch. Jellar had been able to instantly react, moving his head with the punch to minimize the damage. Kyu remembered his last tournament in Varron, where he had done the exact same thing when Edward had connected with a hard, and weighted, haymaker.
Kyu didn't stagger to the side as Jellar may have hoped. If Kyu was a typical street brawler, he would have relied on his body weight for the attack. But being the Karate-ka he was, he snapped back on impact only this time not back to a guarding position, but to a grip on Jellar's left shoulder.
As a result of both grips, Kyu would be able to feel Jellar move downward into Kyu's own move he had already begun only now to a more dangerous area. Kyu had thrust forward with his back leg in a left knee strike, which would of hit Jellar's midsection before but was now heading directly towards his front.
Kyu would have had to strain his shoulder to keep the grip he had with his left, so he loosened it, his hand snaking up to the back of Jellar's head and leaning it forward. Kyu's left knee would be more powerful than one from the right, and by stepping in he had taken Jellar's punch earlier than would be intended, taking away a sliver of its momentum. It still hurt, that was for sure. It would leave a bruise, but Kyu had moved forward just enough into a strike he was unaware of, keeping his hip from cramping up or being too sore to move freely.
Jellar had landed his punch, but now he was facing a left knee to his forehead, where Kyu had gripped the back of his head and thrust it forward. If connected, Jellar would be out cold.

'Good,' Jellar thought, feeling his left hand bury into Kyukaku's tender side, although the impact was not as great as he hoped for it to be. However, not all these were going to remain good. He felt Kyukaku's right hand on his left shoulder in short moment, and after he felt the grip on his shirt released, felt Kyukaku's hand on the back of Jellar's head. He thought quickly in a mix of instinct and analysis. The only reason why Kyu's hands would be on his back side would be to push him downwards.
Chances were, Jellar would be meeting a knee. Kyu could push Jellar into the ground, but in that case he could catch himself with his hands. Judging by past experiences and the current fighting style he was dealing with, a knee would be the most plausible. Left or right, Jellar did not know. But he did know that the balance would be drastically lower should either knee come off the ground.
Soon enough, Jellar saw Kyukaku's knee and he felt the push on his back sending him straight towards it. To do this, Kyukaku would have to turn his body to the right would pushing downwards with his arms. 'Shit, I'll probably have to take another hit,' Jellar thought. However, as before, his mission now was to minimize the impact. With his current position, a head spin would not prove very useful. However, he might have been able to avoid it should he drop all of his balance and turn his entire body.
And that's what he did.
He torqued to his left, using his hip strength and mustering any force he could find in his legs to propel his turn. The sudden burst of force would aid in Jellar's left arm, which he shot back from Kyukaku's waist and brought up, shooting through Kyukaku's grip on his shoulder, causing enough leeway for the push to miss and have little resistance during Jellar's spin. Following, Jellar would try to pull his head backwards, away from Kyukaku, as much as possible to avoid the knee. He had one more move to this spin which was his right arm, performing a fierce attack between a push and a strike with his palm on Kyukaku's outer left thigh as it came.
However, Jellar's efforts to spin were only half successful. Kyu's knee had caught full impact of Jellar's knows and scraped part of his cheek, the rough clothing causing some serious pain. However, Jellar's push, aided by the momentum of his turn, would indefinitely knock Kyukaku off balance. Only supported by one leg and also with a high center of gravity, Kyukaku, even though he was bigger, would undoubtbly be sent off balance should he not make a change in plans, which was near impossible as the attack had already been initiated.
Jellar, still propelled by Kyukaku's pushing arm, would hit the floor with his right shoulder, his nose hurting so badly that it was hard to feel it. It was very possible that it was broken and he could feel a slow run of blood begin to drip out of his nose. 'So much for taking minimal damage,' Jellar thought, knowing that his nose was going to be hurting for the next week and a half at least.
Following his tiny crash into the floor, Jellar recovered and jumped up just as quickly, using the leftover force of Kyukaku's push to jump out of the corner and to the side of the ring. If everything had gone according to plan, Kyu would be on the floor and getting up by the time Jellar made his way behind Kyukaku and to the center of the ring, facing Kyukaku.
The blood that came dripping was getting annoying by now, so he wiped his nose with the back of his hand. Of course, that only made things more messy, but now the blood was smeared all over the back of his right hand and pretty much all over his left cheek.
He resumed his same old position that he started the fight with, waiting for Kyukaku to come once again.

(OOC: I didn't say so before, but I enjoy your commentating Valencia. If you have more to say, please do.)
Jellar had turned himself into quite the funky spin, knocking Kyu's grip from his shoulder and managing to not get knocked out by the knee strike. Jellar had changed the direction of Kyu's knee by palming the thigh, but only slightly.
Kyu was easily able to pivot on his right foot, pointing his toes towards the ropes as he was forced to take a step forward with his moving left leg, catching his regaining balance by placing his hands on the top rope of the ring.
Kyu pushed with his hands as he hopped of his right foot, then skipping with his left before turning his head over his right shoulder as his right legged cocked and went back out, sending a powerful backick with his right heel towards the just rising Jellar.
The kick would hopefully crash into Jellar's solar plexus, but anywhere in the chest would do its damage. Jellar would be hard pressed for time to react, and as he was just getting to his feet he wouldn't be able to change direction fast enough to avoid it completely.

(OOC: I'm going to make some changes to my prior post IC since you changed certain conditions that would cause different things. PM me if there is any problem (or hit me up on MSN).)
Give or take, Jellar's nose had not sustained as much damage as he thought he would take. Had Kyukaku kept his hands pushing on Jellar's back, the impact would have been greater and his nose may have been very well broken. However, given that there was no backing to which Jellar's nose would be hit against, the damage was lower. Furthurmore, Jellar would not be sent as forcefully into the ground because Kyu had taken his hands off and the pushing force was decreased. His right shoulder did not sustain any pain from catching his fall.
However, even if his pain and damage were lower from Kyukaku's change in plans, Jellar still needed to run, the need being more as Kyukaku was not on the floor as Jellar had planned. He dashed off of his legs to the side of the ring, keeping his head turned to watch Kyukaku's movements. He caught the hop and pivoting, and the back-kick that followed came rather fast.
Jellar used the palm of his left hand to receive the kick by the heel and since he was running in a direction away from the kick, the impulse-momentum theory kicked in naturally and there was little damage. Once this kick was dealt with, Jellar made a swift movement to the middle, clear out of Kyukaku's attacking range, still facing Kyukaku as he side stepped into the center of the ring.

((OOC: Aiya… So much to catch up on, so much HW to do…))
Valencia glued her eyes onto the fighters with anticipation, taking in all sorts of minute details that would’ve been easily overlooked had someone else been in her place. This was how fights began whenever people are up face to face, at least with people from Varron. In the course of her lifetime, she was more likely to be ambushed than face her opponent on an equal level. She figured that most people are the same way, so it was a bit interesting for her to think of one’s progression as a fighter as a series of certain stages. In this case, a good slew of the Varron transfers she’ve seen thus far in this tournament are above average…
[GLADYS]: “Let’s see how all this boils down, eh? Kyukaku starts off with a backhand to Jellar’s face, seemingly to provoke the dude into striking back!”
[RUTH]: “But the gloves are off and Jellar counters by knocking back his attack—”
[GLADYS]: “And Kyukaku evades Jellar’s return, sending his right elbow towards the noggin! Someone’s egg is cooked!”
[RUTH]: “To cook an egg, you need an egg to cook it, and Jellar here was one bright egghead to figure that some fancy footwork and a lean back can go a long way! Scramble for the hills, Kyukaku! Jellar is gonna give you a sound beating with a kick!”
[GLADYS]: “Let’s face the music, Ruth. This game is all about reading and anticipating moves and Kyukaku here just caught wind of that kick and snatched it right out of the air! Remember that one 90’s toy called ‘Skip-It’?”
[RUTH]: “I think it first came out in the 80’s, but that I do and so did Jellar! Watch him dodge that sweep! HA!! See that!? Wardrobe malfunction my butt, Kyukaku couldn’t keep hold of him!”
[GLADYS]: “Jaysus Crispies, someone call the fashion police already! Anyways, Kyukaku here is relentless and Jellar there is gonna be in a heap of trouble if he doesn’t find a way to avoid that punch! POW!!”
“That’s GOTTA hurt…”
[RUTH]: “Eek… But hey, no pain, no gain! Jellar makes like a whirling dervish and sends a blow to Kyukaku’s gut! AND CONNECTS!!”
[GLADYS]: “Remember that short anecdote we had earlier about eggs?”
[RUTH]: “Yeah, what of it?”
[GLADYS]: “Heheheh… Let’s hope that Jellar’s head is hardboiled, ‘cause Kyukaku is now in possession of his skull!”
[RUTH]: “GET OUTTA THERE, YA ASIAN!! I’M BETTING ON YOU!!”
WITH MY MONEY.
[GLADYS]: “And SPLAT!! There you have it, folks! The incredible, edible egg dubbed Jellar… With yolk all fine and yeller as he gets right up to start the brawl anew—”
“Does Jellar play Twister?”
[RUTH]: “I wouldn’t doubt it…”
[GLADYS]: “--ONLY TO HAVE KYUKAKU SEND HIM RIGHT BACK TO MOON WITH A KICK O’ d0000000mmm~~!! What came first, the chicken or the egg?!”

(OOC: You know what, either way our difference in understanding won't matter Jellar, so I'll just go with it.)
Jellar was quick on the interception, absorbing Kyu's kick as he moved around to the middle of the ring. Kyukaku set his foot down behind him, turning his head to keep an eye on Jellar as he moved.
Kyu burst forward on his right leg the moment it set down, sending himself back towards Jellar. It only took a step and a slide to get within striking distance, and once he had Kyu threw a short and quick uppercut to the underset of Jellar's ribs on his leading side, following up with a hard right straight punch to his solar plexus.
The uppercut would be hard to block, but could very well be avoided. However, Kyu kept in mind Jellar's strategic retreats, planning to follow his movements and deliver that hard punch the moment he did. If he had to, he would slide in any given direction, depending on where Jellar moved.
