"Where is he?!" Elicia cried.
She had been dressed and ready to go for nearly half an hour and Deacon still wasn't here. Not that they would be late but they were bordering on it every moment that he wasn't here.
"Eli. If he isn't here in a few minutes we'll have to leave without him. Maybe he isn't coming, sometimes things come up." her father said but you could see in his eyes that he felt bad for her.
"NO! He promised." she bit her lower lip and looked away.
"Eli.. maybe he isn't the right kind of.."
*ding dong*
Elica gasped as the doorbell ran and she scurried to the door. She was wearing a dress made of the finest sheer silk, it was black and had many layers. Form fitting but not so much that it showed her ribs or anything, it flowed around her and showed her skin from calves down, and from shoulders to wrists. She opened the door her green eyes bright as there stood Deacon. She didn't waste time with pleasantries instead she hugged her best friend and boyfriend tightly.
"I was worried you would make it." she whispered.
"Eli, it's time to go." her father said shooting a disapproving look towards Deacon. Ever since he had found out that Deacon wanted more than friendship with his daughter he had been colder than usual with Deacon, which caused Eli no amount of difficulty. Eli nodded and took the fancy carved wooden violin case from her father with her, just this morning tuned cherry wood violin in it. It was her favorite and the one reserved for recitals alone because of the way it sounded. All three got into the long black limo her father had gotten for them, and Eli sat between her father and Deacon as they headed towards the theatre where the recital would take place.
Elicia had been playing for years, ever since she was small and her music was one of her many passions. Violin more so than any of the other instruments she could play and there were several. Silently she wondered if Cale would show up, he had been so nice to her that day in the courtyard, she hoped that he would. It would be nice to have a friend there, and who knew her father and Cale might get a long, but her father was quite suspiscious of young men around his daughter for some reason, though Eli couldn't figure out why. She clung to Deacon's hand while they drove and said little she was so nervous. It was about twenty minutes of tension filled limo ride before they drove up to the massive theatre in SF.
"Ready honey?" her father asked. She nodded and they all piled gracefully out of the limo, Elicia had her violin case in her hand, she wouldn't let go of it til it was time to open it. They headed inside and the currator sighed when he saw her. Just in the nick of time.
"Madamoiselle, ze seats in ze front are for your family." he said with a thick french accents. "I vill show zem to zeir seats. you must be backstage!" he said with passion. She blushed and kissed Deacon and her father on the cheeks before she scurried off on her own and to the backstage area to prepare, she was going to be second to go on stage and then she could take her seat with those that came to see her.

Deacon ran out from his uncles house the door nearly busting from his hinges as it swung open. (That bastard…fucker made me late) he thought to himself. His uncle had made him train as soon as he had gotten up and had only given him twenty for so minutes to actually get ready which royally pissed him off. He had wanted to look good for this recital of Elicia’s, she had told him it would be slightly formal and so he had gone out of his way to make sure he would not embaress her by grabbing one of the suits from work which he had worn for a small modeling shoot.
He ran in his black suite across the street and down the block to Elicia’s house, he knew she was nervous and he knew he was not making it any better, he had to make it up to her later but right now he just had to make it to her house which already had a limo waiting outside. He came to her door and rang the bell and the door opened within a second as though she had been waiting for him but what he loved most about it was the fact that she hugged him right away, he wished to kiss her as well but he knew her father was right there and looking to kill him of he did something like that.
“I’m sorry I took so long..my uncle was being a…” he was cut off as Mr Alexander cut him off telling them it was time to go and shooting Deacon a disapproving look. They were soon in the limo which would take them to the recital in which Eli was playing in.
In the Limo Deacon felt out of place. He looked at her father and felt bad, when the two of them had first met it was not this bad between them, Michael was actually very nice to him just because he made Elicia happy which in turn made his job alittle easier. But as time had gone on he had fallen for Elicia and wished to be her boyfriend, it was something her father hated and he had never looked at Deacon the same way again, it was as though her father did not trust him anymore especially not alone with Elicia.
They came to the theatre and it was time for them to part ways as the French conductor sowed him and Mr. Alexander to there seats. He was not looking forward to being alone with her day for such a long time, so many things could go wrong but this was for Elicia and he loved her to much not to be here.

Michael Alexander took his seat. In his silk shirt, that was a soft silver color and a nice spark of color a nice apple green tie fell down his chest. He wore a nice suit, made of fine black fabric that made the man look sharp and worth every dollar that he was. Deacon was seated right beside him and there was an empty seat to the other side of Mr Alexander in case the other person Elicia had invited had showed up, but if not then it would remain empty. It wasn't that Mr Alexander didn't like Deacon, in fact when he and Elicia were best friends he didn't mind the time they spent together. But he was very protective of his one and only daughter, even if she was adopted he loved her as if he had given her his own jeans. And so he watched and waited for the show to start, the others getting seated as they were all waiting for the show to start.
"You were late." he said finally in a voice that was more of a growl than anything else. "Try to be on time, it makes Eli worry and she has enough in her life to worry about without having a boy down the street make her upset." he said firmly.
Deacon didn't know about her past. About her mother who hated her, how her mother made her into what shewas. The shy, retreating, starving woman that she was today. And he didn't know that her father had bascially saved her from that kind of life and moved her here divorcing his wife and winning custody over the young fragile girl. She had become happier since the move and especially after meeting Deacon, and with the new nurse she was making an effort to get better.
"I'd like to see Eli happy. I give her everything I can, and it's why I haven't forbid her from seeing you. See that you use this wisely and make sure that you treat my daughter with the respect she deserves. She isn't some model fluzey. Keep that in mind." he said firmly again shifting his brown eyes to look at the boy beside him.

Michaels words cut through deacons ears right into his brain making a cold chill run up his spine. He could tell her father was not pleased with him, he rarely was anymore once Deacon had started growing closer and closer to Elicia, he was just glade her father had no idea the two had truly gotten during that one weekend he had been out of town. “Yes sir…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry her” he replied at first in a very submissive tone. It was not that he was afraid of Mr. Alexander, after all they were both similar sized men and Deacon clearly had the tight tone muscles as well as his military training on his side. No Physically he was not intimidating to Deacon, what Deacon feared was how he could keep Elicia from him if he wanted to. Deacon knew his wealth and had a feeling that if he wished to both him and Elicia could be half way around the world before deacon could realize it.
Mr. Alexander began again and he bit his lip lightly as he said what Deacon knew was true. “She’s not a fluzey…I wouldn’t like her if she was” Deacon admitted to him. “Your not the only one…that likes to see Elicia happy Mr. Alexander” Deacon said his eyes shifting to meet Michaels. “And…and I think it would Elicia happy if you let me take her out more often” he said wondering how her father would reply.

"You know I can't let her out as much as before. You remember what happened in Europe. Do you wish for her to collapse again? To, have her that close to death or coma was something I do not wish to live through again." he explained as the first person came on stage and began to play the piano the music coming out quite beautifully. He could remember quite well how Elicia's face went ashen right in front of a tourist attraction and she had collapsed Deacon moving fast to catch her before she hurt herself.
"The nurse would have to follow you, and unless you wish for that, she will be limited. Not until she is stable, and I'm not quite sure when that will be. You have one night a week to take her, that is certainly enough for now. Elicia has to be stable, you know that she won't eat every chance that she has, she is ill Deacon, I need you help as well as mine to help her through it." he explained. The woman on stage continued to play.
"I want what is best for Elicia. She is my only daughter, and her mother.. though you don't know the story yet, her mother gave her so many issues and problems that I am still trying to iron out all the creases. I'm overprotective I know that, but she needs that right now. As much as she hates it when I say no she can't go, it's what she needs. More than anything she needs stability and that's why I give you guys every friday to do what you want, it's a schedule, she needs that right now I think." he said with a long sigh. "It's not easy seeing your daughter killing herself because she thinks that if she's a little skinnier she's more loveable, more worthy, but even when she loses a few pounds its never enough, so I have to work to get her healthy, and I know.. you are helping. I've never seen her so happy, the way she lights up around you is what I love to see, that's why I let you come over a lot. I fear though, that you are getting so close so fast, and I fear what would happen if something happened and her heart got broken. I don't know if she could survive something like that." he said honestly. "I really just dont."

Cale rode his dumb-ass red bike through the streets of San Fran with his classy-ass ticket in his back pocket. The boy had shit-nothing to do and had an appreciation for music, so he hoped to God he wouldn't be bored out of his goard. It was a long and breezy ride that he began rather early, leaving plenty of time for him to explore what would likely be a lovely building. He put on a button-up shirt, striped red and white vertically in a nice kind of way, and tucked it in. That was about it. His hair was stuffed into his black wrestling hat and a turkish royale was pinched tightly in his lips as he puffed away like a train down the sidewalk. Seeing a nice chinese place, he stopped for a quick egg roll and ate it next to his bike before lighting up again and hopping back to become the rusty red locomotive that was him and his bicycle.
*ring ring* (The bell was still working, and he always got a kick out of it)
Pulling up after about a solid 45-60 minute voyage, he chained his machine to a nearby park bench. It looked horridly out of place next to all the shining new models of automobiles in affluent colors like silver or black, but so did he. The quaintly dressed woman at the door could hardly believe that he had been given a ticket as he uncrumpled it from his pocket after sitting on it for almost an hour. He was enjoying being a bit of a black sheep, like any teenager would love excess attention. Yet soon, since he had arrived so early, he was a fly on the wall as he looked at every cute little framed picture and curtly discussed composers with a few passers-by. He even dusted off his french when he heard some people speaking it down the corridor. (His french was, as he rarely admitted, almost perfect)
But the show was soon to start, and he had not been noticed yet. He hadn't planned to make a scene by showing up and hugging Elicia and having to meet family or friends or anything weird. He'd planned to enjoy some tunes and then split, maybe mentioning her performance later at school. After wrestling practice got out, he realized all his homework was in relatively good shape, so this was his fun little treat to himself.
As Elicia took the stage, in all her young and only slightly nervous glory, her talent really helped define her as a person. She'd been mainly some girl he'd briefly conversed with before, but everyone has a story and she was tellling hers through the strings like there was no tomorrow.
"She must have picked this piece..." decided Cale. "It seems like something she'd pick. It's...dramatic, but funny. Elegant, but then daring and brash."
He chuckled to himself at the ironies in the notes and even waited on the edge of his chair when the ritard slowed into near-nothingness. It left the whole room silent, and even that one guy who always coughs couldn't break the tension.
"That was neat. That was really neat." he thought. "That was completely a thing."
He figured that was the end, so he started putting his sweatshirt and hat on during the stand-up applause. He figured he'd get on out of there, but when he realized there were more performers, he figured he'd get what he came for.
"If it sucks, I'll just take a break outside and wait for a good one. Maybe just head on home. I don't want to be out here too late."

Just as Cale took his seat, the piano ensemble on the stage had come to an end and the blonde girl that rose got a smattering of applause. She was good, but there was something missing. There was absolutely no passion in it what so ever. But, as she left the stage a very slight girl in a flowing black silk dress crossed the stage, a deep cherry wood violin in her hand as she took the stage. The piano stayed where it was, she didn't need it but there would be other piano performances later. Elicia's eyes flickered to the seats, and she saw Deacon and her father sitting there, obviously discussing something, which to Deacon's expression, didn't look like fun. And then there was Cale. He stuck out like a sore thumb in the midst of the suits that sat around him, but she was quite happy he had come. She mainly could pick him out because she knew which seat the ticket had said, and so it was easy to look there. Elicia while shy had been on stage so much she never even got shy there anymore, she loved performing for someone if it was music.
When the curator gave her the nod she placed her violin on her shoulder and took the bow with her left hand, Elicia being left handed all her life. She did something most didn't, she closed her eyes. Most were too scared, but she found that if you closed your eyes and concentrated on the feeling the music was much more beautiful than not. She began to play, beautiful sweet notes began to sing from her violin as her fingers moved slowly at first letting everyone's ears warm to the sound for a moment. She played beautifully, a song she had written herself, not picked or found, no she had written this one, and so no one would have ever heard it before. But soon the tune began to pick up volume, and speed, her fingers dancing nimbly on the neck of the violin as she continued to play her bow hand moving faster and faster through the more complex part of the song, all the notes melding well with one another as she continued to play for a silent audience. Soon though, minutes had passed, and the song was coming to a close, beautiful heartbreaking melodies came from her violin as she worked her way back down from the fast work of earlier. And with a smile her mismatched eyes opened. Normally she wore a green contact in her right eye to hide the fact it was blue, but tonight she hadn't, tonight she didn't care. It was a gift for Deacon in a way, he was always trying to get her to just leave her eyes alone, but she couldn't, least not in public especially in school where it would make her different and stand out. The last thing you wanted to do in Hircine was stand out. She finished the song with one last lingering note before her bow and violin seperated. The applause was good and decent, not great, but then these people were hard to please and she knew that.

Mister Alexander went on about how he could not let her out as much as he had before, bringing up what had happened in Europe. Decon remembered that day all to well and how he had just managed to catch her thanks to his quick reflexes. It was a scary moment for the both of them that much deacon could not disbute. He said that if they went out the nurse would have to follow them and she would have to do so until Elicia became stable. Telling him that he needed his help as well as his own.
It seemed they would only have Friday nights to go out, it was a bit of a damper on him seeing as how he wished to have her so much more in private then just one night, every time he came over it was either her nurse or her father coming to check on her nearly every hour like clockwork. But it was the last of Mister Alexanders words that got to him. “I would never hurt her” he said sharply his blue eyes like frosty narrow stones as he looked at Michael.
It wasn’t until Eliciaa came on stage that Deacons eyes softened as he looked at her on stage holding her prized violin. She played her heart out as she always did something that he always loved, her playing was filled with so much passion as she played from her heart, it was why he loved when he brought over his guitar and they played together just for the fun of making music with one another. He sat there listening to her play until her piece came to an end.

Taking a drag of his half-spent cigarette, he decided that the performance had been good, but that it was time to go. He'd forgotten that he had planned to train just a very little big before he hit the hay. He'd made a pretty informal promise to himself that he wouldn't ever neglect to do a little shadow boxing, takedown combos, and high kicks before he went to bed. He needed serious work in these areas, so he wedged his smoke in the bell of his bicycle and went inside to congratulate Elicia and then take off.
He walked in a different door into the audience and walked down the aisle towards the stage. He found Elicia sitting down next to two gentlemen, one looking to be about the same age as Cale and the other undoubtedly being Elicia's dad.
He made an awkward little wave towards the three and whispered, "Hey. Nice, really good. I was hella impressed. Keep it up! I'll see you at school, I have to get going."
He nodded to the two men politely and walked outside, putting his cigarette in his mouth and his hat back on his head before sitting down and giving the bell a resounding *ring* before he took off into the night.
"Ahh, culture. I don't get enough of it at Hircine."

Elicia went into the back, behind the stage, where she put her violin back in her case. This was not the kind of recital where people that were in it supported each other, at this age each recital was very cut throat, just because everyone wanted to be discovered and wanted to have some form of musical future. Elicia did it because she loved music and while she wouldn't mind a future in music she wasn't worried about it. Her father had more than enough money she wouldn't actually have to work if she didn't want to. She knew that. But she played because she loved it, and the only time she could convince herself not to be shy was with her music, she loved to share it, and loved to play it any time that she could. So taking her case in her hand, it was customary for the artists to be able to find their own seats and take them, allowing them to be with their family a little while before the winners were announced. Elicia wasn't nervous nor was she worried about if she won or not, she merely just wanted to play.
Stepping out into the back of the audience area she headed down the side steps towards the front where she knew Deacon and her father had taken their seats. Her violin case swinging slightly from her hand. She saw them, Deacon looked tense but her father was his normal self. She just figured this wasn't Deacon's normal scene and so he was uncomfortable about that. Her father stood and hugged her, she got lost in his large arms but she hugged him back tightly before she took the seat that was now between them. Placing her violin on the floor in front of her seat she leaned over and kissed Deacon on the cheek.
"I"m glad you could come." she whispered to him softly. She turned back to the front before she saw Cale coming down the isle giving her a little wave, he looked and probably felt out of place but he couldn't understand the significance of being here for her, of having just met her and coming to a recital. To support her, it was something that meant a lot to her.
"Hey. Nice, really good. I was hella impressed. Keep it up! I'll see you at school, I have to get going."
"You have to leave already?" she asked in a soft whisper. "Allright." she rose softly and gave him a hug. I really had meant something that he came. "Thank you for coming, see you at school." she said with a smile as she took her seat and the next performance began, her hand found it's way into Deacons as they sat.

She finished and came back to them her father immediately taking her into his arms proud of his daughter as deacon was as well. He smiled brightly even blushing slight when she kissed him on his cheek telling him she was glad he could make it. They did not show affection to one another when her dad was around and so he had a habit of blushing when she kissed or hugged him around Mister Alexander. Another young man came over apparently a friend of hers though it was clear Deacon was not exactly thrilled by his presents.
Eventually though after saying her good byes she came and took his hand as they sat watching the next performance. “You really did great up there he whispered to her as the other performance went on in front of them. “I know no one else will have the passion you should up there” Deacon said looking at her with a small smile until her father turned and looked at him shooting him a look “Be quiet…your being rude to the others Deacon” he said in a Stern whisper clearly just looking to keep him in check when it came to his young Elicia. He turned and gripped at her hand a little tighter before his eyes looked over at her and he smiled again, she made him so happy even though he knew he eating problems and how serious they were he was never afraid to get close to her as some most likely would knowing the challenges of such a relationship.

Elicia smiled softly at Deacon's words and carressed his hand gently with her fingers, enjoying his presence. Suddenly, her father turned around and whispered to Deacon harshly making it seem that what he had said meant nothing. She could feel Deacon's hand squeeze her's tighter and she looked over at her father. Her father's smiled at her but she didn't smile back. One of the things he didn't like about her being with Deacon was that she was indeed gaining more self confidence, and while that was great with friends and the like, it wasn't so great when she was using her new found confidence to tell her father what she thought.
"Stop it!" she hissed. "He was being nice, and you scolding him in public and humiliating him in front of me, is more rude than the child across the room that's mother won't take him out while he cries!" she hissed softly. Her father's eyes widened as his daughter chewed into him.
"I am not going to leave Deacon, and if you don't scare him away I don't think he's leaving me either. So get used to it, or move on, I can't stand this tension anymore, you make it so impossible to see him,and when I get to, you make it seem as though it's only under your distinct disapproval. And now you're going out of your way to ruin a night that I wanted to share with the both of you." she continued, pent up annoyance flowing free now.
"Now Deacon and I will be relocating elsewhere I hope you enjoy the show, and I will speak to you in the morning and not before." she said softly as she rose bringing Deacon with her she headed down to another set of seats. Where once seated she would lean against him softly and cuddle up with his arm around her shoulder to watch the rest of the show in his arms, enjoying their date, hoping her father wouldn't be too mad, but she was tired of the tension between them, it was childish.

He could not believe what she had just done as he walked with her to another set of seats, she had just told off her father something he was sure she would never do in her life to defend him. He was so stunned but so proud of her as well, she was developing a backbone and some confidence things he was sure would help her with her other problem with her self imagine.
Once they were reseated she leaned into him and cuddled with him his arm came around her shoulder as they watched the rest of the show in their little date. When the next performance ended and Deacon felt it was safe to talk for a moment he turned to elicia his eyes were always so soft when he looked at her. ”Elicia my love, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so bold in the entire time I’ve known you” he said referring to what had just happened with her and her father. “I am sorry for being such a coward when it come to him, I just always fear he will take you from me, he worries about you so much…I think it would kill him if he knew how close we really were” he paused and leaned in to kiss her gently on her soft lips
When he let it slowly break he whispered to her “So what is it we should do…after the preformaces?” he asked her wondering if she wanted to do anything special before he had to take her home.

She blushed when he told her how proud he was of her for standing up to her father. But someone had to and she was the only one that probbly wouldn't get in much trouble for it. When he leaned in for a kiss she kissed him back slowly savoring it, they had been unable to be so close lately because of her father, and she knew that she had truly missed being around Deacon on her own. She let the kiss break as he looked into her eyes with the softest eyes, and she smiled softly as he asked her what she wanted to do after this. She kissed him again immediatly not answering for a moment letting her hand rise and carress his cheek gently letting their kiss soften but deepen. She loved him very much, he was the person thatmade her days worthwhile and the one that was helping her grow more and more. When the kiss broke she kissed the tip of his nose.
"I just want to be with you." she whispered. "I don't care where we go, or what we do. I just want to have some time alone with you, enjoying being together." she whispered. "We can get coffee, and maybe find some place to be alone for a little while?" she blushed as she touched a button on his shirt.
"Or.. maybe we could sneak into your place.. or .. something I don't know.. but I just want to be with you.. and alone is preferrable." she chuckled softly. "Where should we go?" she asked him back.

He was shocked and happy that she did not answer him back right away, it was something he appreciated actually to know that she wished to kiss him so badly even with her father so near. She meant a lot to him she was his first love and the first woman he had ever done anything with that went beyond a friendly kiss. Soon she broke the heart aching soft kiss and kissed the tip of his nose in a cute little gesture of love. She told him she wished to be with him in a whisper and he smiled at the very thought of alone time with her something they have seriously been lacking these past several weeks since their return from Europe with her father.
“Maybe” he blushed deeply “I have my credit card on me….so we could” he looked down bitting his lower lip slightly. It wasn’t that he was the shy type but with her because he loved her so that he was unsure about suggesting certain things. “We could rent a nice hotel room for the night…and be alone just the two of us, after some coffee of course” he looked at her “Its just at my place peace an quite are not normal things to count on” he sighed
“But if we did that….you’d have to promise to eat something…if you don’t when they test your blood sugar tomorrow I don’t think I will even be allowed to come near your house again” he said stating the price of them spending some much needed time together. He had every intention of keeping her the night he needed her and hearing all this beautiful music made him pine for her even more as it played on the more romantic and loving side of his heart.
