Shamino's favorite part of any survival or action movie wasn't the actual fight, storyline, or even characters involved. It was always the five to ten minute period where they either trained, or stocked up on the ridiculous amount of supplies, often with 'pump up' music in the background. Shamino had purchased a $300 travel bag made for thousand-kilometer hikes, and he intended to fill it. He stared down at the list in his hand as he walked into a military surplus store:
Thinks to buy for Bug out Bag:
Pair of leather gloves
Pair of wool gloves
Two multi purpouse bags
Two multipurpose tools
Water Purification kit
Water Purification tablets
100 Oz travel cantine
Standard first aid kit, add to it what you see fit
Combat knife (Serrated if possible)
Back up knife
scalpel
Cotton balls (NOT synthasized!)
Vaseline
Flint fire starters
Two, TWO rolls of ducttape.
30 meters of nylon rope
Compressable sleeping bag
Water proof compass
Tweezers
Water proof notebook
Note: Don't be an idiot. Buy spare magazines for pistol and rifle, not boxes. You can't refill a magazine during a firefight.
Shamino placed a gloved finger to his chin, scratching it lightly as he looked around the store. He walked up to the counter, placing the list down and not meeting the man's gaze. "Was wondering if you'd be able to help me out with all this. Also- i'll probably want a couple of LED flashlights. A surefire, if you can."
"Bug out bag, huh?" The man said, going through the list and nodding to himself. "World war three? Zombie invasion? Mafia out to get you? Hurricane Katrina hitting the west coast?"
"All of the above, at any time." Shamino shrugged. "What do you think, do you have what i'm looking for?"
"Well, a few gentlemen around your age have been stocking up on this kinda stuff, I guess its a new fad- be prepared for anything- so yeah, yeah we do. Might I suggest some heavy duty pain killers, and a few pairs of latex gloves to that?"
"You might." Shamino nodded, looking out the window with a small nudge to his glasses. "You might indeed. Get the items and rack up the bill, if you'd please."
Several hours later
Intense discussion on each item had killed Shamino's afternoon, and he exited the store with the bag slung over his back comfortably. Popping the trunk to an unmarked SUV, he began stuffing the bag inside, peering in the mirrors to see if anyone was behind him.
