The streets it was were Kazuma found himself spending most of his time nowadays when not in his basement training. He felt more comfortable wandering around these city streets then he confined within the walls of high school. High school felt to much like prison to him and having spent his fair share of time in both he felt no one could judge him for his opinion. This was his reason for being out wandering the streets on a school day choosing to cut every class and not even worrying about the academic repercussions.
He was dressed like a west side story reject wearing straight leg black jeans a white tee shirt and a faded black leather jacket that fit to tightly around his enormous frame, stress marks were all around the arms were his muscles had stretched out the leather horribly. His hair was longer now and becoming unruly forcing him to tie the back of it up in a pony tail.
As he wandered around on foot his one good eye caught glimpse of something that looked promising to kill a little bit of time. I was a large red awning across the street and in bold white letters read Tea Room. A small half smile came across his face, he remembered several tea rooms in New York which while they did in-fact serve tea were really shesha bars. He loved Shesha, there were so many flavors of the relaxing tobacco and the hookah pipe usually burned for a good 45 minutes to an hour.
He made his way across the street dodging traffic as he illegally jay walked toward his destination. He could still not get over how j walking was such a big deal over here actually causing him to pay for two tickets he thought were a fucking joke. In nyc he had j walked maybe 50 to 100 time a day in front of cops who never enforced that law on the books but here they made such a big deal out of it.
Opening the door to the building his eye wide and full of hope he was immediately brought crashing back down into disappear. This tea room was in fact just that a place were they served tea and finger foods. He continued in though knowing he had nothing better to do, grabbing one of the paper menu's that were on a small corner table next to the door he proceeded inward his mind just kind of ignoring those around him determined to get to a comfy looking leather chair in the corner with a small wooden table in front of it.
Sitting down he unzipped his jacket and then took a look at the tea menu. It was a diverse menu filled with Arabic teas, English teas and even a few Asian ones. Next to the teas were items such as pound cake, scones, muffins and , crumpets which were all things he did his best to avoid knowing once his sweet tooth started it was very hard to shut off.
A waitress approached him, she was short and Blond with pale white skin with a very petite frame."Hi my names Carrie can I get you anything?" Putting the menu down in front of him on the small wooden table he looked up slightly at her "Yeah can I get a large Green tea" looking at the hispanic looking male "You sure that stuff is kind of bitter" she said in a kind of condescending tone, almost as though she felt he had no idea what green tea was "Yeah I'm sure"
She left him to get his order and as she did Kazuma had a look around. The place was filled with a mixture of teens and college students and a few adults who had nothing better to do. Looking over at a group of females maybe a year or two older then himself he remembered that Valentines Day would be around the corner in a few days. This would be the second year in a row with out a date of any type for him, though he was reluctant to count last year due to the fact he was still in Rikers at the time and not having or being a girlfriend was actually a good thing.
His thoughts were brought to a stop as Carrie returned with a tall mug of tea, placing it on the table in front of him. "Hey can I get an ashtray?" he said to her feeling the need for a cigarette. "Sorry huh but theres no smoking in the store" she then turned around and walked over to another table. With little choice in what to do he reached into his jacket and pulled out a neatly folded newspaper deciding to catch up on some current events while he was here kind of hoping someone he knew or some one interesting would stop by this place.
