Row F, seat 1, window seat. This was where Mayon could be found on the plane. Mayon was drowsy from motion sickness medication that he had taken. He could never handle such a long trip without it. Mayon lay on his chair with no one beside him. His eyes were closed and his was half asleep. He slowly opened his eyes to get his bearings. His eyes slowly made their way to the window and then downwards to the landscape below. The golden gate bridge could be seen below. He smirked. It was nice to finally be there.
Mayon only had a small job while in Varron. Therefore he had very little money. He usually bought necessities only. But Mayon needed to pay for an air ticket to get to San Francisco. There were two choices when leaving Varron: Pay for your own way or go on a scheduled ride for the people with money troubles. Mayon didn’t have much money so he sold his cycle for enough money to get him a ticket and a decent amount of items to get his new life started. Mayon did however keep his car. He was having it shipped over to San Francisco. He paid this from some of his cycle money.
Mayon was wearing crappy clothes that eh left out for him instead of packing them up. He knew he would need at least one pair of clothes for the trip. Mayon had on a, ratty pair of blue jeans, a black baggy T, black high tops and a red baseball cap with his initials in white on the front. This hat was extremely worn out and had white spots from bleach on it, the sting was unraveling from the initials and the hat was practically a rag with no hold left. Mayon had this hat for years and wasn’t going to leave it behind.
Mayon closed his eyes once more just to relax. He gradually came close to drifting off but never seemed to be able to. It didn’t matter though. The plane would land soon and Mayon would head out. Mayon had plans in San Francisco already. He had called ahead to take a look at an apartment with basic appliances. It even came with a basic TV. It was cheap and roomy. Mayon figured he could buy some crappy furniture with his finances and then get some food for his fridge. He had everything planned out. Mayon had already seen pictures of the apartment and talked to the manager on the phone. He seemed like a nice man. Mayon was pleased that he was a junior as they were the youngest year possible to be allowed to live in their own apartment or housing. Freshman and sophomores had to live in dorms. For some reason, it was mandatory. Mayon guessed it was because most of those students’ parents wouldn’t be there with them, giving them a home; most of the students were probably to young to live by themselves and most would have no idea where to start in a new city. Mayon was older that them however, and was planning his new stay already.
The apartment building was near the campus of the new school. It was a five-minuet drive away or a fifteen-minuet walk. If Mayon decided to jog he could probably make it in ten, maybe eight minuets. Mayon opened his eyes at the sound of the intercom coming to life to have the pilots voice begin to speak. It was a female pilot; her voice was loud yet kind and soft. Mayon looked out the window and guessed what she was about to say.
“Attention all passengers. If you look out the window you will see that we are circling the San Francisco airport waiting to land. We would at this time like to ask you to put on your seatbelts and sit back as to keep any danger from arising.”
Mayon sat up in his seat and fastened his seat belt. He then felt a slight move of the plane to realize that they were descending towards their destination. He felt the as the planes nose rose once again to land the plan on the runway. The screech of the tires was heard once the plane had landed and a slight jolt was felt when it came to a final stop. The plane was soon attached to the airport and the doors were open. Men and women began to leave the plane and head for their luggage. Mayon picked up his luggage and headed to another part of the airport to wait for his car.
Mayon could see, as his car was being unloaded form the larger vehicle. A man entered Mayons car and began to drive it to the parking lot. Mayon handed in some slips to prove that it was his car and was then handed his keys. Mayon then headed out of the airport towards the parking lot where he walked up to his car and hopped in.
Driving down the streets of San Francisco, Mayon looked at addresses on buildings, trying to find his apartment building. Mayon finally found it and parked his car in the lot at the front of the building. Locking his car, Mayon turned and headed into the apartments entrance. Once there, Mayon rang the buzzer to the Managers Office.
“Hello?”
“Yes, This is Mayon, I called a couple days ago about the apartment up for rent.”
“Oh yes, It is on the fifth floor. I will buzz you in.”
Mayon listened for the buzzer and once heard, he walked into the building and headed for the elevator. Mayon waited for the elevator to reach him and once it had, He entered to head up to the fifth floor. Walking down the hallway, Mayon looked for his apartment number. After finding it, Mayon knocked on the door to see the manager open it form the inside. As he gave Mayon the general tour of the apartment, Mayon had to admit that it was fairly decent.
“So that is the general lay out of the apartment. If you have no large furniture with you then you may move in today if you see fit.”
“Yeah...that’ll be great. Thank you.”
With that, Mayon was living in San Francisco. It would be interesting to go to a new school and see how things turn out. Mayon unpacked and decided to go get a small look of the city. He then headed down the elevator back to the main floor and out the door. Mayon made sure he had his new apartment key on his chain and opened the doors to the outside. He then began his little walk. He would just g around for a while. He may head over to the bridge and take a good look of the view. It would be very interesting.
