The high pitched squeal of a whistle sounded throughout the gym, echoing off of the surrounding walls as Odin stood alone in the middle of the floor. Dropping the whistle from his lips it hung securely around his neck as he waved everyone in to form a semi-circle around him. Unlike his academic counter parts his suit and tie were replaced with a muscle shirt and shorts. Instead of Armani shoes he wore Nike runners, if there was a god such a difference was pray worthy.
“Alright, you’re my last class of the day, but don’t think that means I’ll go easy on you. Simply put your going to get the same treatment as everyone else, and today will be the toughest of the year. But before I get into that I’ll tell you how you’re going to be graded for every week.” Raising his clipboard he showed to those able to see a list of the student names printed down on one side, while the rest of the page was blank if you excuse the single line’s spreading the length of the page, blocking off each name.
“Here is the class list, certain activities will dictate that I want you moving at all times. If you stop, you get a mark. Each mark is a percent off your grade. Each week you’ll be restarted at a hundred. Throughout the year this will tally off, then be combined with your participation efforts through the various sports were going to partake in over the months. If you miss one of my classes you get docked ten points, unless a doctors note is shown.” At this point he noticed more then a few students faces turn to worry, they’d actually have to go attend and pass physical education, it was no longer as simple as it seemed. A few more hands were being raised, but Odin just waved them down, not taking questions at the moment.
“Now for the bright side of things. When I say that you can’t stop moving, there are loopholes. Should we just be running for the day then I want you to keep completing laps. If you have to start walking, that’s fine. Just keep moving. You stand still you get docked points. When playing sports if you just try to take some initiative, work with your team should the game require it, then that’s all for the better. Now, get up and start doing suicides. Don’t worry; today’s not counting towards your grade, which is unless you leave my class before the final bell rings. Get running.”
Grabbing his whistle he let it sound off as hard as he could, causing some of the closest students to have to cover their ears as they retreated to one side of the gym. Walking to the side where his office was located he didn’t go inside and relax like his Gym Teacher had, but turned around and watched the students. He started yelling off names in roll call, seeing who was here and who wasn’t. Every ten minutes he’d do the same thing, making sure that everyone was still within the gym.
