Name: Hide Kunioku (surname pronounced he-day)
Nicknames: Kuni, DJ Hide
Nationality: Japan
Ethnicity: Japanese
Attended School: Implemented into Paragon Institute through the Foreign Exchange Program.
Age: 17
Year: Junior
Weight: 181 lbs.
Height: 5'9"
Appearance:
Body: Kuni has a very muscular form from years upon years of vigorous training. His fat percentage is at an extreme low, making almost every muscle on his body a rock. Though he has a muscular form, its not overly bulky, and doesn't quite slow him down since its all dense muscle. Kuni has two scars, one visible upon the right side of his forehead from an elbow strike, and another on the inside of his right knee, left after having minor surgery from a torn ligament.
Cosmetic: Kunioku typically wears the same type of clothes everyday, an old habit from Japanese Schooling with uniforms. He usually wears a simple pair of jeans and sneakers, with a tight muscle or sleeveless mesh shirt, though typically always covered with a jean jacket. He almost always has his fingerless gloves on simply for the reason he knows he's prone to fights.
Eye color: Brown
Hair: Like most Japanese, Kunioku has jet black hair. Although naturally it tends to rise upwards with his widow's peak, Kunio does put some product in it to give it a sharper texture to its appearance.
Habits: Although Kunioku can speak fluent English, he has a thick and deep accent when he talks. Kuni has also been known to crack a smile for no apparent reason, though violence often ensues.
Personality: Its hard to peg Kunioku as one personality type. At times he is very calm and at ease, and others he is a ravaging beast. He has random urges of the need to hurt someone, making him very sadistic in nature. Kuni has a very large temper, and it doesn't take much to set him off.
Kunioku isn't much of a talker, though that is not to say he doesn't talk too often. He is more the type to gesture with a look or a movement. Though comfortable in extroverted settings, Kunioku acts as more of an introvert within them, looking over everything with an unsettling smile rather than partaking.
Above all else, Kunioku hates being told what to do. He's extremely rebellious, up to the point where he'll lash out because of a simple command. No one is the boss of Kuni, except Kuni.
Hobbies: Though you could not tell it by looking at him, Kunioku is an avid lover of music. He is a DJ, as well as plays several instruments himself. He enjoys anything with a good beat, be it new types of Metal, J-Pop, Rap, or hybrid genres.
Extracurricular: None. Kunioku enjoys his free time to put towards music and martial arts, and little else.
History: Kunioku was born in Kyoto, Japan to a 17 year old girl. Kunioku would never know his father, and it was doubtful that even his mother knew, as she had occupied her time working in the Red Light District of Kyoto. Growing up without a father and having an absentee whore of a mother, Kunioku had been relatively unlooked after, and spent most of his toddler days in a room by himself.
When he became school age, his mother implemented him into the Japanese Public School system. At first, Kuni would always keep to himself, as he learned how to keep himself entertained. So when it came to socializing with other children, he would simply sit there, staring off into space or occupied on his own. The kids would often poke fun at him for being the strange kid, and as they got older, the bullying became more severe.
As he moved into upper gradeschool, the slander would often come with group beatings. After coming home with cuts and black eyes on several occasions, his mother eventually noticed. Now married to one of her clients, Kunioku's step dad, the middle aged business man would easily be able to afford to give the middle schooler the self defense classes he needed.
As he learned how to defend himself, Kunioku would also begin to learn how to fight. This newfound knowledge would make him much more confident, becomming borderline cocky. This cockyness would give way to shows of disrespect to his instructors, often times resulting in beatings more severe than those he had ever gotten from other students. However, with these beatings came lessons. Not lessons on that he should show respect, but lessons that he should shut his mouth and smile for the time being.
By the time High School came around, Kuni had already attained one blackbelt, and was working his way to another in a second style. Now, the same kids from the younger days would pick a fight, and end up hospitalized in groups of 2 or 3 at a time. With his victories, not only did he attain another boost in his ego, but an apparent taste in violence. He would enter in annual Kumites, pushing the envelope on the already full contact Karate sport.
Still, with Judges around at the tournaments it became too much structure for Kuni's tastes. Although he still attended such things, Kunioku began to get his kicks elsewhere. Kunioku would pick random students, beating them unconcious for no other reason than inclination. Eventually, he began to play games. He would wander into gang territories, wearing rival colors and wreaking havoc. He would then watch as the two gangs would collide into large gangland battles, smiling at his own handiwork.
By the time Sophomore year came around, every student who knew Kunioku knew him to be dangerous. At first people moved away from him out of fright, but that intimidation would spark curiosity in others, and soon they would begin to gravitate towards him. Halfway through the year, Kunioku ran his High School, taking in his share of profits in all gambling, drug deals, and fight rings. Around the end, someone attempted to stand up to Kunioku during one of his parties, and that person was reported to have been given brain damage from a single well placed punch.
Although not having any outstanding grades, as Kuni gave little mind to schoolwork, or any extracurricular activities through the school, he had been approached for the foreign exchange student program. Although disinterested at first, the nature of Hircine High was brought to his attention. A school that had been known for uprising and violence in the past year, now neighboring with new school. Intrigued by the idea of such a concentrated place of fighters, Kunioku accepted the deal, that is, once there had been given a cash bribe to sweeten the deal.
And so, Kunioku boards a plane to cross the Pacific Ocean, heading for California. He told his classmates that it would be a mere foreign exchange program, the smirk he wears at the mention of Paragon Institute seems to hint that he may know more than he lets on.
Fighting Style: Though he has studied various forms of martial arts throughout his life, Kunioku has attained a San-Dan (third degree blackbelt) in Kyokushin Karate, and a Sho-Dan (first degree blackbelt) in Aikininjitsu.
He has hardened his body from his praction of Karate, making his hands, feet, knees, elbows and forearms very lethal. From Aikininjitsu Kuni has learned to get maximum effectiveness from minimal effort. This has taught him a good deal of joint locks, throws, and simply put, all sorts of techniques of fighting dirty. Kunioku's sadistic nature means he won't just resort to fighting dirty, but he'll do it often. Whatever causes the most pain.
Strengths: Kunioku's stature makes him both very quick and very powerful. Because he enjoys to hurt, he knows how to make things hurts and therefore is very accurate with his strikes. There is almost never a flaw in his technique, and if left unchecked that power, speed, and accuracy makes him very much a threat to all those around him.
Weaknesses: Kunioku's size is a doubled edged sword. While he's fast and strong, his reach is typically smaller than everyone else. This also means that since most fighters would be taller than him, he would need to aim up for certain targets like the head, taking some of the power out the techniques. Kunioku can also get carried away and therefore may become wild. Though this would also be dangerous, it may also leave him more open to attack. Although speed nor strength is lacking from his own balance, this will give him a disadvantage in one of the area if his opponent specializes more in one or the other. After all, there is always someone stronger or faster than you out there.
