Name: Jack Lifeson
Age:: Seventeen
Gender: Male
Grade: Eleven
Height: 5'5
Weight: 150LBS with minimal body fat %
Nationality: Fifth generation Danish. Very domesticated American, with no Dutch background apparent in his home or in his general looks.
Appearance:
Shining green eyes, combined with shoulder length brown hair that is stylishly feathered and light in movement. He has wonderful complexion for a teenager, having to never deal with acne or any break outs- but has dryish skin in the winter.
His shirts are normally musically related shirts- never band shirts. He has several differently colored 'Ibanez' guitar shirts in red, black, and white, which contain the words 'Ibanez Guitars' in standard Ibanez font in black, white, and black text respectfully. Over these shirts in the winter and fall is a zip-up fleece sweater with a gray collar, which is very form fitting. The only other brand type of shirt he has is a simple quote from The Big Lebowski, "Well, like, that's your, uh, opinion, man."
His pants, despite his casual tops, are always dress. Cheap, effective, and plain black dress pants held up by a black belt with 30 holes surrounded by metal, to accommodate his small waist. As well to match the pants, he wears black socks with effective but cost-friendly dress shoes, of which he has two pairs: winter and summer.
In the cold temperatures of fall and winter, he wears a thin, 100% leather jacket with gray and comfortable/warm padding on the inside, with several large pockets on the inside, and the standard two deep pockets on the outside.
He wears no prescription glasses, but wears a pair of thin, non-descript Ray Ban sunglasses which frames are thin enough to resemble transition-lens glasses.
Habits and things worth note:
Jack is a casual smoker. Having been raised in a smoking family, and the majority of his jam-buddies and friends smoke, he smokes a specific brand of Indonesian cigarettes, 'Djarum Specials', which are wrapped in maroon paper and packed with 50% clove. This is done because of taste preference, and an interesting conversation opener on other women and men who smoke. Maroon papered cigarettes get him stares where ever he goes with the typical replies of "Is that a blunt?", "Is that a cigar?", or "Why the hell is it red?"
He carries a name brand Mp3 player that is not an Ipod, but has a screen interface with twenty gigabytes of various music on it. He wears form-fitting ear phones that are a brownish color to blend in with his hair. The ear phones are popularized by the Atlus game 'Persona 3'.
He carries a nondescript hard case with him at all times that fits any shape of electric guitar. There is no exceptions.
Jack also has a Zippo collection, including an inherited Zippo from his grandfather, circa 1944.
Personality Wise...
Jack takes many pages out of the cult classic 'The Big Lebowski' in the sense that he is quiet, soft spoken, and highly relaxed. His movement doesn't depict a 'stoner' attitude, but he often jumbles up his words with many 'ums' and 'erms', despite high grades in English and writing. He's also a self-proclaimed Taoist, and carries a copy of the Tao Te Ching with him every where. This information about his faith sums up his personality quite well when in school. Flowing like water, doing what needs to be done, never being prideful, and gaining as much knowledge as possible from students while giving as much as they wish.
In the music scene, Jack is a quiet but energetic solo guitar player and session musician. When outside of school his demeanor is still best described as 'cool', but with a rock and roll edge. Not to be mixed up with the acne ridden, pale faced 'metalheads' who wear Cannibal Corpse shirts every day, he is very grateful to play on any stage, and becomes very talkative and extroverted when talking to fans and anyone else who enjoys his music.
He is highly opinionated about his music, finding that 'rap' and 'R&B' is the rape-child of funk and soul.
Hobbies:
Best described as 'Life', Jack Lifeson is a musician. Specifically, a lead guitar player. Having played since he was seven years old, Jack read the story of Zakk Wylde practicing for fourteen hours a day, sleeping in school, then continuing to practice to heart. He owns over a dozen guitars including two classical, four acoustic, and the rest being electric. He has several rig set ups ranging from Ibanez amps to Marshall, and a wide variety of pedals. All in all, he has tens of thousands of dollars worth of musical equipment. His basement in his home was sound proofed and renovated into an amateur recording studio. His friends, fellow musicians, and the local club owners vouch that he is the 'definition of a Virtuoso.'
He is also an avid chess player and not surprisingly a concert goer. Despite a smoking habit, he does not enjoy drinking or doing any drugs.
His Extracurricular activities are non existant, as every moment not in school is spent driving to and from music related things.
Fighting Style:
After falling in love with kung fu movies when he was five, he's had years of Muay Thai, TKD, and generic fighting experience. He's short and has a good amount of muscle thanks to hauling his own equipment for years and a work out regiment at home that consists mainly of biking and pull ups. Because of this, he packs a lot of punch with his hands. Despite this, he rarely uses them. He prefers more to grab the opponent's attack, deflect them, and then use his TKD training to focus more on kneeing and kicks. He is not afraid of using his elbows on vital areas such as the chest or the head. Working as a roadie and lighting technician for the last year has also increased his ability of forseeing up and coming dangers such as fixtures and things collapsing. This has helped him in fighting immensely by giving him a heightened sense perception. When blocking or countering, he absorbs most of the blows on his forearm or above his ribs.
Strengths:
Short stature and a lot of strength in both his arms and legs makes him very manuverable while also giving him the ability to take a handful of blows as well and still continue fighting. Working on sets and lighting has also given him the ability to 'forsee' up and coming attacks and allow him to hastily respond. His demeanor and his way of life however generally cause people to look at him in a positive light or harmless manner no matter what. His greatest strength may be his underground popularity and relaxed way of living.
Weaknesses:
'Forseeing' an attack is that. Singular. He can see, at the start of an attack or a move, generally where it may go. Should he be able to remove that threat- if a second one appears, he instantly panics and is usually in danger. For example, he may be able to grab an up and coming punch from a boxer, but won't notice the knee coming up to his chest.
His attacks work the same way. He throws an attack that is meant to be deflected or countered, and places his real move into action. Should this second and true attack be deflected, he once again panics and attempts to retreat, leaving him very widely exposed.
In any fight where there is two or more opponents and he is alone, he also becomes highly nervous to the point of panic. While he owns a H&K folding knife complete with window breaker and half-serrated edge, he uses it for technical work and for breaking down cardboard items- he has no idea how to knife fight, and if wrestled from him by an actual knife fighter he'll generally flee as fast as physically possible.
History:
Jack Lifeson was born on the west coast in the summer, to a musically inclined family. His father, an executive to a minor computing company, enjoyed classical music and the flamenco guitar. His mother, a woman stuck in the early sixties, was the largest influence on Jack's musical career. Inspired by the blues and the classic rock of the sixties and seventies, Jack grew up in a very relaxed, calm, and 'hip' environment. Due to his Americanized family and his calm demeanor, he went through public school very smoothly- gaining many friends and fans that were 'awed' by his early guitar skill.
His principals at his public schools had him play the classical guitar in public school bands, and he played during charity events and school-hosted dinners. But at home, Jack played the electric guitar. By the age of ten he was writing small instrumentals and transposing solo's, as well as writing entirely new ones for old classic songs. When he was thirteen he was given the basement of their two story house in the outskirts of the city to dwell in. A large room acted as both the living room and his bedroom, with the rest of the rooms converted to a recording studio built by Jack and his father.
When he was twelve his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and beat it by his second year of high school. Expected to live until he late sixties, the ordeal changed her entire outlook on life and has kept her constantly out and on the move- rarely home. Due to office hours, his father is awake for several hours before retiring to the second floor. This left Jack at an early age with the responsibility of being alone in the house. He took this example to invite musically inclined friends down to the basement and play often till four or five in the morning, power napping until school.
Despite his musical life style, he's taken courses geared towards History and English, specifically the time of the Crusades and Story writing. He maintains, with minimal sleep and homework time, a seventy five percent average.
During a Megadeth concert he took up smoking. First having a Marlboro pack, he found an empty pack of 'Djarum Specials', and purchased one from a tobacconist that once saw him in concert at one of the larger clubs in town, and has become a fan of his playing. Because of the fact only one tobacconist will allow him to purchase underage, he generally buys in bulk and smokes sparingly.
He has had several girlfriends, all of which he has broken up with over what were 'musical differences'. The singer of his first actual band, a woman, was involved with Jack romantically when he was fifteen. When she left the band, he broke up with her. "We had creative differences." He said. "I was creative. She was different."
When he was sixteen he received his learners permit, and several months ago received his full license. He drives a well taken care of Land Rover due to his constant moving of instruments.
In the last two years he has played as a guest with Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, and is currently in talks with doing a few shows on the west coast with the hard rock band 'Clutch' during their west coast tour.
The Guitar Institute of Technology has offered him a fully paid year at the school as of the new semester. Jack has yet to write a response.
He is currently single, band less, and awaiting excitement and a muse as he returns to Hircine High after taking a semester off for 'medical' reasons, used as a front to allow him to record his first solo album.
Due to this, he is oblivious to the actions taken in the last year.
