Fighting information
Fighting Style- Dante Williams mainly uses the martial art of Drunken Kung-Fu. But ever since his losses, he decided instead of focusing on one martial art, to pick up different tricks from all of his fights. Mostly, in fighting he uses his speed and agility to his advantage.
Strengths- He specializes in elbowing and kneeing. He also is very quick and light on his feet and is good at sweeping behind his opponents and he tenses when he attacks instead of relaxing his whole body when moving. Because he is so loose most of the time, this makes it easy for him to dodge attacks and roll out of the way easily. In his little body though, is a LOT of stamina because he was trained to always use as little energy as possible and to not show when you were tired so he can give off an appearance that makes him seem as if he didn’t break a sweat, but he can be very tired inside.
Weaknesses- Since Dante is so relaxed; it is easy to catch him off guard. Also since his body is relaxed most of the time, he takes punches a little harder because he doesn’t flex his muscles much except when attacking. His body is not made for endurance either, though he can take a punch or two. Dante is also clumsy a lot of the time so he can get tripped easily and he even trips himself sometimes. He also can get repetitive when he’s tired.
Weapon Specialty (For Tourneys) - Dante Williams is more experienced in pole and stick-style weaponry than in anything else because he uses it as an extension of his arm and moves loosely and freely with it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Goals in Hircine: 1. To be a better fighter, and hopefully one day defeat Tiao 2. To help defeat threats of the school and innocent people 3. To make more friends
Occupation- Dante acts at a nearby theater near Hircine and helps at the library.
Vehicle- Dante has a bicycle that he modifies to grow along with him.

In the beginning:
Dante Williams was born in a poor town in America. And though he was loved, his parents feared that they wouldn’t be able to provide for him, because they also had to provide for his grandfather, Dante Williams, whom Dante was obviously named after. Dante’s father was an actor, but unfortunately, everyone here was too poor to go to the theater, or they had no care for theater. Only the rich, white people, which were a rare case in Dante’s town, went to the theater in the town. Dante’s parents were in poverty. In this town that he was born in, you were either in a gang, you were strong, or you were the prey that the gangs and strong people hurt.
As Dante grew up, he was the prey. When he went to Middle School, he had it even worse off because that was when people actually started to join gangs. Dante refused to join gangs whose main purpose was to just prove that they were stronger or better than the other gangs just by hurting others. So he was bullied all of the time and never had any friends. Though he was bullied in school, he actually made pretty good grades, and he excelled in English, so his parents finally bought him a Journal.
Dear Journal, *Sigh* So. Everybody’s beating me up. But why? Because I won’t join a gang and hurt other people? Is the case here that if you don’t hurt other people, you get hurt? That’s messed up, why the hell should it work the way. It’s just not fair, I mean, I’m only in Junior High, I shouldn’t even be WORRYING about this kind of stuff. *Sigh* Can one who doesn’t enjoy hurting others find happiness in this hellhole that I call home. Hell, I feel like I’m trapped in hell in this place. Dad says that he’s saving money to move out of here. I can’t wait till’ that day, when I can finally stop worrying if there’s going to be tomorrow for me.
Another kid died at school today, he seemed like a nice kid though, he never beat me up, and he actually talked to me. His name was Peter, Peter Ortega, but then again, if he wasn’t nice, then he probably wouldn’t be killed. Is this the way that people work? Once someone is great, cares for no one else but himself, they’re killed? Just like that? There’s a history to prove this: Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and, of course, my own Peter Ortega.
Why?
Later, Dante’s parents had a little brother, whom they named Samuel. And just like with Dante, they were thrilled to be having another child, but now they were even more worried about providing for him. Now they had to split the money in there state of poverty into five ways? This was getting very impossible…
Getting Trained:
Dear Journal, Apparently, one day when I came home really beat up and bleeding, Grandfather Dante said that he didn’t like me coming home like this day after day after day. So he decided to teach me some martial arts. I’m really excited about this. One day, I’m going to teach everyone who beat me up at school a lesson. They’ll wish that they never even asked me to join a gang or hurt me. I’ll beat them ALL up!!!
But then, will I really be any different from the people who beat me up? Using my own power, my own strength, to beat up people who I don’t like or are weaker than me? That’s not really fair. *Sigh* I guess, as always, that I have to be the mature one in this town and not beat up people like that. It’s really stupid though…
When Dante’s grandfather finally trained him, Dante taught him many of the fighting basics: Such as balance and stance. Then, Dante’s grandfather made him exercise using different drills and exercises for five hours every day. Very hard work for a Junior Schooler.
One day, when Dante was strong enough, Dante’s grandfather tried to figure out a fighting style for Dante: Something that took advantage of Dante’s speed, agility, and his looseness. Dante’s grandfather finally decided on Drunken Kung-Fu. It would be very hard for Dante, but his grandfather thought that it would be best if Dante learned that fighting style. Though obviously Dante wouldn’t learn EVERYTHING about Drunken Kung-Fu. That would be far too complicated for a Junior High Schooler.
Dear Journal, Grandpa is getting really hardass about all of this training. Everyday, it’s training, training, and more training. It seems like this stuff never ends. The first couple of days I didn’t mind, but know it’s getting really hard. Oh well, grandfather says I’ll be thankful when this is all done. And I believe him. I already feel stronger, and I can protect myself now, but Grandfather still wants to fully train me. Every day, I wake up, go to school, go home, do my homework, and then train until I go to bed, my whole body being completely drenched in my own sweat. Oh yeah, and guess what? Grandpa said that he would give me something once I was done with my training. He said that it would be something very special. I can’t wait to see what it is! Now I’m more motivated than ever to finish my training!
When Dante finally completed his training, his grandfather, true to his word, gave Dante a small puppy. This was a huge deal to Dante, he never had a pet before, and he loved his new puppy. He decided to name it Elliot, after his favorite poet: TS Eliot.
Moving:
Dear Journal, Great news!!! Dad FINALLY got enough money to move. Some guy from New York was here. God knows why though, but anyway, he saw Dad act and he liked him. He told him to move to New York and actually work at Broadway, can you believe it? Broadway! Some guy wants to give my dad a job at Broadway! But anyway, Dad told him that he didn’t have enough money to even get airplane tickets to New York. Much less buy a house and move everything there.
But the guy said that he was so impressed with Dad’s talent, he would pay for everything, except for moving the stuff. But that wouldn’t cost too much, we don’t really have much that we can’t already take in luggage on an airplane. Dad didn’t even hesitate to say yes. So that settled it, we’re going to New York! I can’t believe this! It’s too amazing, we’re actually going to New York! Life is going to change from now on, dad already found a High School for me, it’s called Varron High. Strange name, usually schools are named after Presidents or something, but whatever. Now I’m finally done being scared, I’m going to be safe, I’ll finally know what it’s like to be safe!
Dante moved to New York, and as promised, almost everything was paid for. He lived at a small apartment near Varron High.
But Dante wasn’t going to be as safe as he thought…
Varron:
First of all, a short time after Dante’s family moved to New York, Dante’s grandfather caught a fatal case of pneumonia. Dante visited his grandfather’s hospital room many times. Too many times to count in fact. Dante’s grandfather was more of a father figure to Dante than his own father. He couldn’t believe that his grandfather was dying. It was too sad, too sad…
Dear Journal, Yesterday was the last day I saw my grandfather. I went into his room, just as I usually do at LEAST daily, and today he seemed weaker than most. He didn’t want to talk idle chit-chat or have positive reinforcement. He knew that he was dying, and accepted that fact. He seemed to open his arms to his fate, but before that, he motioned me to come closer to him, and he whispered softly, almost breathed out the words, "Don't.... Forget..... Me." Then he lay down on the pillow, closed his eyes, and his heart monitor started to beep rapidly. A large group of doctors came rushed into the room and rushed us out.
Later, at about 3:00 am , we got a phone call. Mom picked it up, listened for a while, then I saw some tears glisten in her eye. She nodded a lot, and mumbled ‘uh-huh’ a lot too. Then she hung up the phone and said the three words that we all expected: “Dante is DEAD!” The last word she said rung in my head… Dead…
Varron was a lot different than Dante expected too. He expected to be safe, to not be hurt anymore at New York, but it was too late when he realized that Varron was the most violent school in the nation. Even more gang activity than his last school. Hell, this school made his last school look like a school for prissy’s.
He expected to make many friends at Varron, the only real friend he made there was Sedrix West, who he met on his first day in a very long spar. Even when the school dance came, he didn’t have anyone to be with during it. He was as lonely as ever in New York, until one day…
The Watchmen:
One day, Dante was walking along a different route to his house while walking his dog, Elliot. On the way he found a soda can, and like the immature person that he was, he started kicking it around, dragging Elliot along with him of course, until he came upon an old dojo, with the smell of fresh paint on it.
On the outside, he saw a poster advertising the anti-gang, the peacekeepers of Varron it seemed, called the Watchmen. He thought for a while, and then decided to try to join. He didn’t come in so… gracefully. In fact, he accidentally fell in the building through the door and landed on his face. He scrambled up, speaking quickly, being nervous. But the leader of the Watchmen, Maverik, calmed him down and then Dante waited for the rest of the members.
The leader, Maverik, pointed out the rules to the group of people that came that day, and said that if they were willing to protect people, then they were automatically in the gang. Dante was pleased as he was given the Watchmen’s symbol: A Yin/Yang ring, it matched his Yin/Yang necklace.
Dear Journal, This is going to be a short entry, but I entered a gang today. More of an anti-gang really. They’re kind of like the police of Varron or something. I got in pretty easily, though I fear that I didn’t really make the right impression with the gang leader, Maverik. Kind of a strange name, I think, but he looks really strong, and he’s a great speaker. Everyone who wanted to get in just got in, it was as simple as that…
Well, I guess I’ll just try to be the best Watchmen I can be. I’ll show Maverik, I’ll show EVERYBODY…
Hircine:
Soon, there was a tragedy in New York: The Legion’s hideout, The Edge, was burned down by the evil cult The Hand of Fate. While that didn’t really affect Dante, or anybody he knew for that matter, it was one of the last straws that broke the camel’s back.
The thing that shattered everything was when the cold mastermind, Stern Mason, caused a gigantic riot using his gang called the Nameless Masses. And while all of the Watchmen tried to hold everybody off and stop the riot, it was no use. The Masses won.
As a result of this, Varron was shut down forever, and no other school in the nearby area would accept Dante as a student, considering he was a student of the most violent school in the nation.
But one strange day, he got a letter from San Francisco. It invited him to come to Hircine High: One of the best schools in the nation. Dante was surprised at this, very surprised. Why would a great school like Hircine invite a Varronite student like Dante? It didn’t make much sense, but Dante’s family had no choice but to move to San Francisco, California.
When he got there, it seemed that everybody, including the staff, from Varron was invited to Hircine. Dante was confused, but happy that he would be getting a good education.
Dear Journal, Damn. I can’t believe I got into Hircine, HIRCINE after being a Varronite. From a school that collapsed under its own violence. I’m not really getting any of this, but I’m happy to be here, and it looks like Sedrix and Maverik and ALL of the Watchmen were invited here too…
And here they have the Pillar system. A system in which the student body is controlled by a group of elite fighters, and there’s a leader of them too: The Captain. The Captain is Darren Blayne; the other two Pillars are Tiao Lei Shen and Kurtz.
I’m mainly interested in Tiao, and it seems that the Pillars get a lot of attention around here. They possibly make a lot of friends… a great way to get a better rep would be to become a Pillar. The whole school would know your name, and know that you were a great person. You would get a lot of respect, power, and most of all, recognition.
Maybe I’ll look more into the Pillarship…
Fight with Tiao:
Dante finally decided to make his move on Tiao. He sent Tiao a message and waited for him to arrive to him behind the school. Soon Tiao arrived. They shared… ‘formalities’ for a while, before finally getting to the fight.
Tiao was stronger than Dante had expected. To be honest, he expected the fight to be a breeze, since he heard that Hircine was nothing compared to Varron in terms of combat. He tried as hard as he could, but he couldn’t even land a hit on Tiao.
Try as Dante might, all of his moves turned out against him. After a swift, fluid barrage of attacks that Dante didn’t even see coming, leaving Dante lie with a sprained right knee, broken left ankle, broken nose, dislocated shoulder, torn ligament, and broken elbow.
Soon, after Tiao called 911, an ambulance came and picked Dante up. At the Hospital, Dante was depressed; he couldn’t get over how badly he lost to Tiao. But to his surprise, he found that Tiao came to his room. Tiao talked to Dante, made him understand more, and tried to be friends.
With a grin, Dante shook his hand and agreed. But unfortunately, the friendship wouldn’t last as long as he would like…
Meeting Rebecca:
After getting home from the hospital, Dante had to be in crutches for a period of TWO weeks. Dante definitely wasn’t one to sit around still for that period of time, so he tried to have as much activity as possible. He went to new cafe’s, he always hobbled around as much as he could to get exercise and release endorphins to possibly make him happier, but unfortunately, nothing really worked out…
He was in a depressed state, until one magical night, when he walked out and remembered that someone just moved in to the apartment room next door. He had no idea who it was, or knew anything about the person, except that the new neighbor just moved into San Francisco. He knocked on the door, having no reply, he sighed and started to hobble away, when he felt a crack of light escape from the door. A gentle hand touched his shoulder, which startled Dante so much that he accidentally tripped and crashed down on his crutches. He quickly got up, and turned around to find the most beautiful woman. After talking a while, he found that her name was Rebecca, Rebecca Eve.
They talked about music for a while, and to be honest, Dante acted a bit like a clumsy dork, but his social skills were slightly messed up because he was… distracted. Soon, he did something that he would never have done in a million years. He asked a girl out on a date. He asked Rebecca out to see a musical that was going on at the theater that Dante worked at, which was actually just down the street. It was kind of a childish musical, but it was the only thing Dante could think of at the moment, and actually, it meant quite a lot to Dante, because that was the first theater production he ever saw.
He asked Rebecca out quite impulsively though, it was out of the blue, and they barely knew each other. Dante was shocked at himself for asking her out, so he basically just waited for her to shoot him down. But to his surprise, she actually agreed, which made Dante the happiest man in the world that night.
After the musical, Dante said goodnight to Rebecca as she replied to him with a small peck on the cheek and walked inside her apartment. Dante blushed deeply and brushed his hand constantly against his cheek for the rest of the night.
He actually felt complete…
… Or almost complete…
