Name: Jason Cross
Nick-Name: Cru. Stems from the nickname 'Jason the Crucified Cross' (elaborated upon in history)
Gender: Male
Nationality: American
Ethnicity: Has a very mixed Ethnicity flowing through most European countries and a pinch of native American.
Age: 17
Class: Junior
Weight: Currently 245 though he is training in hopes of hitting his comfortable weight of 260 in a few months.
Height: 6' 5" give or take a centimeter
Blood Type: O
Build: Jason has two noticeable aspects to his build, his height as well as a muscular system toned enough to put him into the bulky category. The matter of his height unknown to him or others generates from health issues that has never been diagnosed. Later in his life when he would hit his growth spurt his body would create excessive amounts of growth hormone which has cause various joint pains thoughout his life, some persisting today.
Clothing: Jason's preferred garb consists of metal toed work boots, a pair of loose fitting khaki or black slacks. He feels more comfortable without a shirt since that was common for working out and training which he has spent a large portion of time doing. Though since he will need to wear a shirt most of the time he'll usually learn to wards tight fitting black or white t shirts since at times they give a skin tight feeling that makes him feel like there is almost nothing there. A big part of his leaning to these clothes are his comfort in them as well as the fact there have been easier for him to come by to accommodate his large frame. He has also been known to wear black upon fingered gloves though this is more so when he chooses to weight train to improve his grip.
Hair: A short to medium brown hair that he generally slicks back and puts products in to hold it down, he found it to be harder for a person to grab his hair if he had it held in that manner.
Eye Color: A slightly dark but not unusual color of green that are often cold and uncaring to the masses.
Personality: To people Jason is not close too he has a personality comparable to a brick. Having issues of feeling neglected by his parents he doesn't like to let people get close to him. This causes him to generally avoid small talk or letting himself have any sort of relationship with people. This part of his personality is slightly less imposing upon women just because a part of him wishes to have someone close to him who he can confide in. If a person manages to get close to him he has a fairly boring personality still, even then he tends to try and remain closed to keep from loosing his bonds with others. On the rare incident that he makes a relationship with someone and cares about them if that bond is broken it can cause him deep throbbing headaches that can even be severe enough to impair his vision and balance.
Hobbies: In the past 9 months he has taken up cooking since it is something he has found he can manage even when he had a cast on his primary right arm. In the 3 months he has had the use of both arms he has started to take up the task of going to a junk yard and taking apart cars or motorcycles. He has found a decent job for the owner of the yard taking apart different pieces to be sold, he has reason to believe some of the cars and car parts are stolen but doesn't much care as long as he can continue this semi-interesting work. He has been working with the owners permission on making himself a motorcycle that as of yet looks like an over sized piece of junk.
Habits: One of the more noticeable habits he has is wandering eyes, even as he talks to people he tends to be scanning the room. There are two things he thinks may attribute to this being the minor shooting training he has making him want to always see possible targets prior to them seeing him, the 2nd contributing factor that having spent a lot of time isolated makes him want to see all that he can take in visually. Other than that primary habit they trail of into small ones such as the fact that he eats bent over and very quickly from having to adhere to a strict schedule in the past.
Extracurricular:
-Geometry
-English
-Physical Ed
-Home Ec (He likes to cook, leave him alone...)
-Engineering Course (Having only 4 main classes at Hircine has allowed him time to study this night course that really just covers the basics.)
History: Jason Cross was born to the parents Emily and Sean Cross. When he was born he had a birth defect which gave him small heart valves or Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, but the doctors didn't notice him as having any sort of problems so this was never looked for. He was a rarity in that he managed to survive this heart defect without major surgery.
Emily and Sean Cross were both people of moderate political position and influence. This allowed him to have a typical middle class life style. A good house that was usually empty since his parents spent all their time earning it and none of their time enjoying it. By the time he was 7 he had more baby sitters than extended family and nearly every three weeks was in the process of meeting another. With so little real relationship in the home he became detached from his parents but at the time was not resentful of them. He would start turning his attention toward making friends at school but not knowing how a real relationship works he had a hard time getting past the word hello. It was around this same period of time that he would first experience an extreme chest pain when doing the standard PE rituals of the lower grades. Running around the track he felt as if his heart was tearing as well as his lungs were struggling. Upon asking the teacher she looked at him as fairly healthy and ignored his obvious ploy to get out of running. This started two trends of his life, conflict with authority as well as learning to deal with the physical pain he was enduring.
Several years would pass with no significant changes to him though his resentment to his parents and others would grow slowly over time. On his thirteenth birthday he was alone at home without a word of care and his mind started to think of ways to get back at his parents. This odd sentiment would bring the boy to be a troublesome kid for the next few months but until three months had passed nothing he did was really harmful. In the third month of his attempts to be harmful to his parents he stupidly called 911 making false claims that his parents were hurting him. With this move he found out what truly injured and hurt his parents, any sort of negative media to wards their name. They cared so much more about their political life than him that it was the only true way to make them flinch. It was an odd course of action for a kid his age but he started to vandalize cars in the area and purposefully be caught. His parents no longer saw him as the unwanted son but instead as a media fiasco. With anger at his actions they would enter him into the next defining chapter of his life, military school.
Some people think of military school as a place a bunch of prissy kids who's parents wanna knock them down a peg send their kids to march around, do a few drills and grow into young adults. These people haven't had the pleasure on being to the negative side of the Despair Academy. Despair has two sides, the public one that the average person sees but still knows little about. This side is usually filled with the kids of politicians who want to learn how to become military brass and manage to avoid ever seeing a single field of combat. What better way to build up political following that to be a true American army hero? God bless politics... However the second part of Despair lives more closely to it's name and purpose. This side of the school doesn't resemble anything one associates with a place of learning, it stands more like a mix of a real boot camp and maximum security prison. This place doesn't build up character and make someone a better person, on the contrary it solely stands to break and destroy a person's spirit.
The first day at this school was a day filled with adults making him feel as if he was nothing more than the trash someone kicked to the street as they walked down the pavement through yelling, punching, kicking and the occasional hard tap of a wooden night stick. The reaction of the boy was less than the 'instructor' had hoped for and so began the man's course on seeing to it that he put every effort into breaking the boy. Schooling in this place was mental torture, anywhere from ten to sixteen hours of instructing with little to any space for breaks. The times when they weren't in a class they were made to work their bodies, running ten miles five days a week. Obstacle courses weren't uncommon, the crawling pit which had barbed wire hung over it was a favorite among the crueler adults who at times even went as far as to press down on the wire letting it scratch onto the backs of the undisciplined. Hand to hand combat was mixed on odd days of the week to allow the instructors even more room to batter the children to wards a submissive state. If Jason hadn't had the tolerance for pain from the common chest aches he felt he wouldn't have lasted very long here. How well he took the pain was noticed by the other students and one jokingly said he was tougher than a crucified cross, unwanted to himself the name stuck.
Though he didn't like it as making him stand out (the nail who stands above the others gets pounded) he eventually grew familiar with being called Cru so became accepting of it. Three years faded into this pattern of sleepless nights, gray mornings and bloody ripped clothes, the only separating thing from this routine was the fighting training which he took to heart. As Jason neared the third month into the sixteenth year of his life he had been going through his growth spurt for two years and stood a menacing 5'11". On this day he would be pushed beyond what he could take and with their own training plus a bit he did on the side he would lash out. The same instructor who turned Jason into his life goal decided to make a spectacle of him with the coming of some new students. With two other instructors, he threatened Jason to walk with nothing more than underwear to the finer side of the school. A bus full of girls who had just arrived would be greeted by the sight of a scarred bare back, a down cast head and a few would see shame filled eyes. With cruel eyes the man would lean up to wards him and whisper into his ear, "See them look away, they don't want you and no one ever will, you'll never be more than a glance boy."
With tears in his eyes he'd turn and grab the instructors right arm, with a quick circle the man would be pulled onto his knees. He'd lower down to one knee and with his left hand grab the instructor's shoulder, with the right he held his wrist. With a motion as quick as the man had insulted him Jason would pull the mans arm back against his knee letting out a horrible cracking noise. Even after the man's arm lay broken he could not bring his right hand to let go of the wrist. The two other instructors began to lay full force blows upon his back fracturing 4 ribs and nearly hitting the spinal cord, then one large swing came down on Jason's right forearm. The bone would fracture almost completely through but luckily not break as he finally released his grasp. The doctor of the school would tell him that he shouldn't use his arm for a month or so to let it heal, but the very next day the two assisting instructors would force him into a fight. With one swift punch to one of the men the bone would snap and part of it would pierce through flesh as blood would splatter to the floor.
After this second incident the school wanted nothing to do with the boy and he was removed under the false idea that he needed time to allow his arm to heal. His parents still having no wish to have him would make plans for him to attend Hircine High, a haven for the troubled, after his arm had healed. The doctors initially told him three months would mend the bone they had to surgically set to a usable state. A month later it would be five more months that they assured as they re-broke and tried to set the bone again. With only one arm for the next five months he looked into ways to spend his time, cooking became a favorite to him along with maintaining his training as well as he could. After the cast was removed his parents still needed time to get him admitted to Hircine so he remained in the apartment they gave him using his time to further his culinary skills and then after a while he became intrigued by the machines of man. He would spend hours in junk yards taking apart motorcycles and cars, the owner would decide the kid could be useful and gave him a job doing just that. Three months of this routine have passed and everything has been worked out, he begins at Hircine High immediately. Though he is still fairly aggressive he has no intention of stirring up trouble at Hircine and would like to be a normal student for a while.
Fighting Style: Jason's primary knowledge of fighting comes from the general military practice of Close Quarters Combat, CQC to some Marine Martial Arts to others depending upon their interpretation. This style gives him a decently well rounded style though his personal focus is on the area of submission. This area he has also expanded upon through the study of other martial art's submission moves while never taking the martial art itself to heart. Jason mostly employs things of the style like little circle, big circle where by holding onto an opponent and pivoting a little circle he draws them into a larger circle to remove their balance. What he doesn't focus on submission he uses to give himself powerful striking punches. He is not amazingly skilled at the style but makes up for his lack of technique with brute strength and endurance.
Strengths: Very strong arms that deliver powerful blows though only at an average speed. He has a very high tolerance to pain generated from years of having to deal with the pain his heart causes him as well as the many physical beatings he took at Despair. His size allows him to more easily deploy little circle, big circle since the person has to rotate a great distance in order to keep up with the large circle his size creates. He is very skilled at using his whole body as a possible method of attack, elbows, knees and all areas of the arm. He has no regrets to fighting dirty as it is a common understanding with marine martial arts training that everything is a possible weapon and when survival is needed nothing is to be held back. He has spent a fair amount of time to study human anatomy to memorize various pressure points as well as muscle and bone placements on the body. His hands have a strong grip which he tries to employ along with pressure points or other methods to inflict pain.
Weaknesses: The primary weakness of Jason is his lack of speed, this makes it harder to strike smaller opponents. Because of his size he also has difficulty dodging or avoiding being hit completely. Though he likes to employ knees and kicks into his fighting his legs are very slow, also in the event of a kick his size makes it hard to decently hold his balance on one leg. Though he has a considerable knowledge of the human body he doesn't have a strong enough experience of employing it into fights to have it used as effectively as it can be, figuring out locations as they vary by opponent size. He has become overly protective of his chest and right forearm, this can cause him to create a lot of openings on other areas of his body. Though he has dealt with the pain his heart can create for a long time, in situations where it beats faster it still causes immense pain. The triggers can vary from training, fighting, to even a romantic moment with someone he feels close to. Though he tries to hide the pain if it persists for a long enough period that varies by situation it can be very detrimental, causing him to become even more sluggish than usual or rare but still possible cause him to black out completely.
