Detailed Information
Build: A muscular, well-built figure, August is at his leanest health, yet his body makes it seem as if he carries some sort of additional weight. However, his thick arms, shoulders, and chest are relatively pure muscle, and tend to come off larger than more toned forms tend to. His chin is a sharp split square, with a slightly gaunt jaw and a thin, slightly long nose. Thick eyebrows, large eyes and a wide forehead act as the primary focal point of his face, producing a form that balances both in upper and lower body. August's eyes glow with the intensity of maple wood, and his long, combed hair is the shade of autumn leaves, golden and orange in a beautiful mix. Often seen with a goatee of sorts.
Apparel: A person that finds more interest in action and efficiency than personal appearance, August typically keeps to wearing flesh-tight tees, comfortable jeans and hiking or motorcycle boots when outside of school grounds. During the fall, he’ll wear an extremely weathered bomber jacket, and during the colder winters, it is not rare to see August garbing his snowboarding jacket and boots. Efficiency is his fashion, and he only forgets it when to wear a nice suit for extremely important occasions, and even then it is uncomfortable to him.
Personality: By nature, August Velway is competitive, evasive, and difficult to read. While he is not exactly anti-social, and certainly not afraid of the social world, he simply does not have interest in pointless conversation. If someone questions him, he responds; if they insult him, he glares them and quickly replies with his favorite response of “Whatever,” before turning away without a second glance.
His attitude is very apathetic, and when asked on his own opinions regarding a political policy or a current issue, he’ll tend to look at those speaking and shrug. It is not that he does not care; merely that he feels more comfortable acting that way. He prefers to keep neutral in matters, mostly because of a personal fear of losing those he cares for, property he has gained, and any progress in life he has made. Thus, this fear has driven August to be highly aggressive in competitive sports and similar situations, making him a star athlete in any sport he finds interest in.
When relating to women, August tends to act on instinct; in fact, it’s one of the few places he openly comes out and acts sociable. He’s not exactly one to act “chivalrous” in public, yet when in privacy with women, he is not afraid to try and impress. At times his intentions are mistaken for his “manly needs,” however; he is no stranger to emotional needs either. Yet, women are not an absolutely important thing to him; they are luxury, and will not be taken in excess.
Hobbies: Automobile Mechanics, Skiing/Snowboarding, Hiking, Training
Extracurricular: August is only interested in three things related to after school activities: mechanics and the sciences, mountaineering, and the school's Ski Team. Likewise, he is not a terrible student; his grades tend to stick around a B grade wherever he is attending, and are usually an A in his more passionate electives.
Fighting Style: Since August grew up in the darker alleyways of Sydney, his preference in combat is purely Street Fighting. Due to his relatively bulkier build, August expects his opponents to anticipate heavy jabs and grapples; to catch his opponents off guard, he has implemented a “Blitzkrieg” method (a name of jest, of course) that details rapid movement, evasion, and lighter strikes through thrusts and kicks. Quickly enough, when August feels satisfied that his opponent believes in a false style – or his stamina begins to dry – he turns to a more natural nature, taking in hits through the bulk of his form, and keeping to heavy punches, knee kicks, and throws. August is highly aggressive, and does not believe in keeping to defenses – after all, he could always block or evade if need be, then destroy his opponent thereafter. Defense only delays the inevitable need for victory.
Strengths: Velway's form is tough and strong, allowing for an excellent endurance against enemy attacks. His punches are also relatively strong, and his kicks are always lethal if successful.
Weaknesses: While August relies heavily upon speed in the beginning of a fight, his stamina is very lax; he cannot last long in his "blitzkrieg" method, and if he keeps to speed for too long, he will harm his chances of success later on. He is also not very flexible, so his kicks usually keep below waist level.

August Velway's Allies, Friends, and Enemies:
Non Player Characters: These characters play vital roles in August’s life, either from his past or present.
Decius Shelling: Ginger hair that loosely blankets scalp, viridian eyes, aged 16 years, height at 5'10'' and weight at 165lbs, thin build, non-fighter, sociable and a drinker, Sophomore at Hircine High School. Decius has been one of the few friends of August Velway since their shared time in Sydney Australia, and followed the protagonist to the United States. He is currently August's room mate.
Daniel Fenimoore: Auburn hair that leans toward his left, bronze eyes, aged 19 years, height at 6’2’’ and weight at 167lbs, lean build, gun-slinger, calculating and liberal, mechanic in San Francisco. Daniel was the second oldest of August’s band of friends back in Australia, and acts as an adult confidante during his time in Hircine.
Minter Caspen: Bushy sable hair that surrounds the entire head, hazel eyes, aged 20 years, height at 6’0’’ and weight at 160lbs, lean build, bike-gang leader, highly aggressive and devious, criminal kingpin in Sydney Australia. Minter was the oldest of the escapees from the adoption home back in Sydney, and led to August’s love of bikes. Possibly betrayed the other three of the group to the Police three years after their escape.
History
The childhood of August Velway is nothing more than a memory, a shadow of the tall flesh his soul presides in now. Born to unknown parents, August was immediately sent to an adoption home come his birth at a small hospital, and cared for the first twelve years of his life. These days act as the foundation of Velway’s more subconscious tendencies, and as expected, he sparsely remembers them. Those twelve years were passed on with a small and dull bed, grey and beige garbs, food that barely covered today’s nutrient requirements, and education that solely revolved around the basics: English, Math, Social Studies and Science. These days are rather blurred in the eyes of the youth. His life would truly not begin until his eventual adoption.
A few months after his ignored twelfth birthday, August was finally taken in by a beautiful Australian couple in their mid thirties. Their names were Thomas and Alexandria Velway. As expected, the young August was christened under their names of Velway at their local Anglican Church. For the next year and a half, the youth would find himself in bliss. His father taught him mechanics and the beauty of Physics, while his mother taught him about the world.
Under their home-schooling, August caught up with the world’s educational expectations, and even excelled a good deal further, reaching a freshman level status of knowledge. While he constantly begged to be sent to public school, he was denied; he would learn later why: the Corporal Punishment System had begun to gain influence in Australia. To make up for his needs in socializing, Alexandria enrolled the young boy in a skiing course in the nearby Thredbo resort, while his father brought him to his work and took him on hikes with other local men.
Eventually, however, a tragic event tore the youth away from his comfortable life. While the family strode through the outskirt streets of Sydney, a police chase involving a truck of burglars soon sped around a nearby block, vaulting straight towards the trio. The truck itself kept to the road for the most part, yet at the last instant, glanced into a sharp turn through another alley, barely missing the parents. Unfortunately, the Australian police were too preoccupied by the cumbersome streets to take notice of the bystanders, and one cruiser instantly struck both of August’s adopted and beloved caregivers.
The next few days were blank. While the young thirteen year old lived, he had undergone shock from the sight of his parent’s bodies braking against red and blue lights. Reports indicate that he was hysterical to a point so severe that he was sent to a medical hospital, the police believing he had gone insane. Doctors supposedly confirmed the evidence, and began to give the boy treatment. Nothing was to the point of abuse, yet the boy’s mind was strangely rebelling against the new authoritative forms. The adoption home, the police, the Doctors, they were all nothing as truly appropriate governors to be the boy. His parents had been the only satisfying caregivers, and now they were dead.
Eventually, August was released and sent to the very same adoption home to spend his last four years of childhood. This idea was far from what the youth desired, and preparing an attempt at escape with three other boys at the adoption home, the four suddenly disappeared, their route never confirmed or verified. Along with August, the four young men included thirteen year old Decius Shelling, sixteen year old Daniel Fenimoore, and seventeen year old Minter Caspen.
After their escape, Caspen led his small band of youth to a camp in the outback nearby the city. The residents were the rebels of Australian society, racers that rode their vehicles of all kinds throughout the plateaus and plains of their land without a care. Minter had been briefly adopted by the cousin of one of the racers, and had befriended a small gang in their midst. Named the Barren Vigilantes, their group were lovers of their sport, and comfortably absorbed the four youth with open arms.
The next three years for August Velway were rather interesting. Spending one year under the apprenticeship of a racer, the growing youth learned the specifics of motorcycles. Meanwhile, to quench his thirst for speed and competition, the Barren Vigilantes ran races in the abandoned slopes of nearby ski resorts, honing August’s skills for snowboarding and winter sports. He became an expert racer, and by his fifteenth birthday, was invited to join the gang’s ranks full time.
In his second year with the B.V., August felt nearly at his best, living a happy life comparable to his time with his parents. While he was far form as experienced as Daniel and Minter – who was a prodigy of sorts – August was revered for his non-stop determination and steadfast will, never caving in during a race or an endurance challenge. Women started to love his physique and playful mannerisms, and his clique enjoyed his lack of fear or care for anything except their own interests. During this time, however, August also began to adapt his neutral stance on any situation or conflict that occurred outside of his little world. The rise of the Corporal Punishment System began to catch the attention of Daniel Fenimoore, and the more philosophical youth was constantly attempting to bring August and Decius’ interests outside of mechanics and racing. Yet they always ignored him, preferring Minter’s glances to the beautiful women of the Lady Vixens than the comments of their nation’s Prime Minister.
In their last year before arriving at Hargrove Academy, things began to turn dicey. Decius had just grown old enough according to biker gang rules to begin racing officially, and suddenly Minter’s ambitions came to fruition. Caspen, within a number of months, quickly took over as the Barren Vigilante’s leader, casting the old Patriarch aside without a second glance. Suddenly encouraging his racers and friends to wield weapons of any type in their races, the rules of the circuit quickly began to change; the small time racing organization was now nothing more than a bunch of road raging mafias. The Barren Vigilantes rose to the peak of power, yet as the violence ensued and even grew in danger, the Australian Police quickly took notice and began to tighten the noose around the unsuspecting teenagers.
Yet Minter caught on, and over the course of a month, established his gang in Melbourne, waiting patiently as the Police prepared their strike on the raging maniacs. Finally, in the largest circuit race of them all, Minter asked all three of his former friends to spearhead their gang’s effort to win. August and Decius agreed without question, but Daniel found himself unsure. He accepted Minter’s orders, yet ignored them, and soon sped off to examine the race from afar. August and Decius didn’t pay any heed to their liberal friend’s choices, and went on with race. Within minutes of the start, the Australian Police arrived, and August Velway soon found himself behind bars – this time in a jail cell.
Uncertain of his fate, August Velway and Decius Shelling were told of their punishment: they were being transferred to the United States, under special visa, to undergo education at a “special” school in Washington State known to them only as Hargrove Academy. Within a day’s notice, the two were packed off – property and all – to the West Coast of America, waiting for their first day at school to begin.
Only spending a month in the private school, August Velway soon finds himself distraught at the Academy’s strict policies and lack to back up their claims. One situation in the hallways leaves August battling against teachers, a pair of cocky students, and any Dean that thought themselves able to compete with Velway or his unnamed allies. For this he was simply given a slap on the wrist, and after coming to believe the United States’ Corporal Punishment System had more bite than talk, he felt the need to test it. Abandoning the school, grabbing his friends and taking off to the southern-bound State of California, the bandit August Velway finds himself in the city of San Francisco, now intent on searching for the System’s strongest fighters and enforcers, in a school where the “worst” students in America have been sent to be dealt with by the “best.”
August has every intention of seeing the skills of both groups pushed to the test.
