Name: Nathan Branigan
Nationality: American
Age: 16
Born: October 19, 1991
Weight: 180 pounds
Height: 6’0
Appearance: Nathan has a very soft featured face with a “five o’ clock shadow”. He wears slightly beaten blue jeans that show one or two worn down areas of the cloth, soon to be holes. He wears beige-brown shoes and a brown belt. He is often seen wearing a plain white T-shirt.
Body: Nathan has very strong shoulders and arms. His hands reach his upper calf and he wears the American shoe size of 12. He is well built, but not to the extreme. The outline of a six pack can be seen. He has fairly toned legs, but nothing too large.
Eye color: Hazel
Hair: Rose blond with a spiky hair style. Hair reaches the center of his neck and overlaps the lobes of his ears slightly.
Habits: He obsessively chews gum, but only at school. It can be seen as something he uses to keep him focused.
Personality: Nathan has always been a very caring person. He is the first person you will see protecting someone or sympathizing. Although this can be used to attack his weaknesses as they were when he was a child, this happens very rarely. Because of the problems he has had with people picking on him since he was a child, he has been known to physically lash out at those who treat him with little respect or as if he was just an animal. He is very self-sufficient, getting everything he needs done on his own. He will occasionally get help from others, but not because he needs it. Nathan is a very loud and at times obnoxious person. He will always voice his opinion with full confidence and will never falter with what he believes he should do. Nathan can be completely random outside of fights, in an attempt to keep himself entertained. This could be due to a case of ADHD, but he has not been tested for this as it is not a severe problem. He can become overconfident, which could become his downfall in a fight.
History: Nathan was born and raised in a small town in the state of Maryland inside of the United States. He was taught from a very early age from his parents to be polite to others and he did so without question. He was an only child and was spoiled because of it. Due to his parent’s spoiling, he was very destructive knowing that if he broke any of his toys then his parents would just buy him new ones. When he started school he didn’t really make many friends. He was very quite and seen as kind of an odd ball. People often made fun of him knowing that he wouldn’t lash out at them. He always sat alone at lunch and didn’t talk to anyone. He made excellent grades however, and was constantly praised by his parents. On the other hand, this and his lack of friends were exploited by the other kids as they played with him when he gave them test and homework answers. They would then ignore him once more when they got what they want. This made him very distrusting of people and gave him an even harder time of making friends. Nathan couldn’t stand school or any of the troubles that came with it. Eventually he would just go to the library during lunch to avoid talking to anyone. People would also make fun of him during recess and he inevitably got into many fights. He even when so far as to break another child’s arm so he would stop insulting him. It worked and, because of this, he became increasingly violent. Things remained this way for the remainder of elementary school.
By the time Nathan reached middle school, people had ceased insulting him. Too many people had been hurt in the process and they avoided it for that reason. He made his first real friend in the sixth grade. Ironically, they became friends after he had insulted Nathan and they got into a fight. After the fight, he apologized to Nathan and they later became friends. He finally began to cool down after this. He increasingly showed his emotions each day and eventually became very loud and talkative. He became very loyal to his friend, Brant, over the course of their friendship. He would often defend his friend if someone were to insult or attack him. He also began to lash out at people for insulting him as well. After Brant, he began to mass many more friends that he hadn’t met before. By the time he finished middle school he had become quite well liked by a large amount of people in his grade.
Those friendships wouldn’t last however, because his father got a job in San Francisco as an engineer and his mother a job as an accountant. The move was also so they could be closer to the majority of their family living in nearby Reno, Las Vegas, and Sacramento. They moved just before his sophomore year as a student began and he was upset by the loss of his old friends. He knew that he would have to make new friends in an area possibly culturally different. When he first moved to San Francisco, he was immediately accepted into Hircine High School. His parents saw that it was a large success with the Pillar system being used to keep order. They liked the idea of Nathan being able to concentrate on his school work and making friends rather than having to deal with fighting. When he first started at the school everything had remained calm. But, out of pure coincidence, Varron Academy students were accepted into Hircine the same year. Although things seemed calm for the moment, there was no doubt that the school would become far more violent very soon. After all, Varron was filled with nothing but the worst students around. Nathan would have no such luxury of being able to stay away from violence as long as the Varron students were enrolled at his school.
Fighting Style: Nathan has no formal fighting style. He simply uses the basic abilities that everyone else knows. He is more of a punch based fighter that will either try to overpower his opponent, outlast them, or move to quickly for them to keep up. He can use his rounded abilities to exploit some superiority he has over his opponent. He will also try to grab his opponent’s arms or legs to force them to the ground. If they are weaker, he can then get them into a grapple and beat them into submission from there. If they are stronger however, he will simply try to go for a kick to the gut or head to keep them down. He might even use the held appendage to break a bone or two. He is by no means restricted to punches, but he is more comfortable with them compared to kicks. He does not like the idea of losing his footing because he wanted to hit someone.
Strengths: Nathan is quite a bit more fit than most people and because of this he can use his strength to overwhelm an opponent. He is also not strong enough that his muscles are so big that it slows him down, so he is reasonably fast as well. He has a decent cardiovascular fitness so he can move around for long periods of time without becoming tired. He is mainly an all-around fighter so he can be superior to his opponent in at least one area.
Weaknesses: Although Nathan’s strength is his rounded abilities, it is his weakness. He isn’t as strong as some of the strength based fighters, not as fast as the speed based, and can’t last as long as those who are pure endurance. He can be overpowered, outlasted, or he might not be able to keep up with a fast opponent. He also is shorter and lighter than some people, so stronger opponents could just stay back and hit him from a distance or throw him around until he is spent. Nathan has also been known to be overconfident, so opponents might take advantage of this to win a fight against him.
