Let's see this place....
Chase strolled onto the grounds of Paragon High, wanting a look at the place. He hadn't exactly been hearing good things about it. For example, the kids here were resentful of the transfers from Hircine. Which was dumb; because they were all new students; transfers in some way. But they seemed to hold a grudge specifically against Hircine students, which bothered Chase. I want to see for myself.
Inhaling the cigarette as he took a look around, he found that he wasn't alone; students were scattered about the campus. Which was fine with Chase. He just hoped they didn't go ape-shit crazy like he'd heard they would. He flicked ashes to the side and sat down on a bench. Maybe if I'm lucky, someone's going to buy here. I think I have a few more left. He leaned back in the bench, yawning, and stretching.
"You know what our policy here is?"
Chase felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around. Two kids, one blonde, the other Asian, looked down on Chase. Chase thought for a moment, then came up with a smart-assed remark. "You don't use deodorant?" He was shoved violently out of the bench, almost to the ground. Making quite use of his arms, he caught himself and quickly stoof back up, turning back to face his assailants. Perhaps this was a bad idea after all.
"Trespassers are shot. Survivors are shot again." They came at Chase, fists cocked. Chase's eyes widened, and he promptly turned on his heels, running, but deeper into campus; the two in pursuit had the entrance blocked.
"Wait, why-" Chase began as he ran, but didn't get a chance to finish. One of them had caught up, and almost hit Chase; only his reflexes saved him. "Sheeeeeet!" Chase cried as he picked up speed, trying to get away from the two boys.

Damien leaned against the wall in a small alleyway between buildings, applying the nicotine patch and chewing on some gum. It had been a long day of needless violence, yet subtly controlled. He didn't know how it was done, but somehow the violence was contained enough not to interrupt classes. He hadn't been to one today, however, deciding instead to scout out the school grounds, learn all its little secrets, and get better acquainted with some staff.
His ears perked up, footsteps and yelling headed his direction. His head snapped to the right, looking toward the path at the opening of the alley. A kid went sprinting by, followed closely by another two students. Damien frowned. Now that was just un-acceptable. He turned down the other linking alley, walking calmly, and came out of the entrance smoothly, just as the boy who was running away sprinted by. Damien stuck out a foot, the kid closest to him tumbling forward and smashing his face into the cement. It would hurt, but no real last damage would be done.
"Well now, two on one doesn't seem quite fair, does it?" He rolled up his sleeves as the other boy had stopped and began helping his friend to his feet. "Tell you what. If your looking for a fight, you needn't bother chasing after that kid. It obvious he's not interested." The two boys started forward, fists raised. Damien put his right foot back and his left forward. His open left hand hovered palm down about three inches above his left knee, and his right was up near his chin in a balled fist.
"Come to daddy little kiddies."
As the first kid stepped in, Damien caught the left fist that was sent toward his face with his right hand, grabbing and holding as he sent a hard left uppercut to the boys chin. As the guy fell back, the other boy threw a sloppy right kick to Damien's Side, which landed, but Damien caught, so while the pain of the kick lingered Damien had the boys Right leg. Grabbing fiercely, Damien brought up his right hand as though he would throw a punch but opened his palm instead. As his hand came up to the boys abdomen, Damien pushed forward, taking a few steps toward him, lifting with the hand his hand on the stomach and the grip he had on the leg. The boy was hoisted into the air, and slammed to the ground hard.
Damien kept the grip on the guys leg, and, what with his groin being exposed so, brought him his right foot and stomped down on the guys crotch. As the kid let out a cry and grabbed himself, a sharp punch collided with Damien's left cheek, causing his head to turn to the right. Damien stepped out with his right leg, turning to the attacker. As the guy grabbed his shirt, Damien brought up his right hand, grabbing the bottom of the chin hard. He threw a swift head-butt to the guys mouth, then as the boy stumbled, jumped and threw a spring kick to his face, sending him into the wall. When Damien landed, he jumped forward, grabbed the boys head and smashed it into the wall.
The kids body slumped down limply.
Damien stood straight, and began brushing the dirt from his shirt.

Hmm, they seemed to have called it off.
Slowing to a halt, Chase turned around and observed the halls; empty. But in the distance, perhaps in an adjacent passageway, he heard sounds of a scuffle. There was yelling, and hitting noises, as well as a loud crack of finality. Then silence, and someone ruffling their shirt. Hmm. Did someone beat them up? Or someone got beaten up by them?
Walking back to where he'd entered, he found a boy brushing dirt off himself, the two boys from before limped out on the ground. Shit, someone fucked them up! By "someone," of course, he meant the person in front of him. Aww Christ, this school is fulla crazies. I gotta get outta here.
"Shit, that's crazy," Chase commented, looking at the bodies.

Damien's eyes turned up at the approach of the young man who had been running away earlier. The boy didn't seem happy that Damien had just beat the shit out of his assailants, instead choosing to remark about how crazy it was that it even happened. Damien looked down at the boys who he had chatted with, then looked back to the kid who was standing there staring openly.
"Nothing crazy about it. They're thugs, and they deserved it."
He kept his sleeves rolled up, and finally finished brushing the dirt off of his shirt. He realized that the gum which he had been chewing on was plastered against the wall from the punch he received earlier. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out another one and stuck it in his mouth swiftly, then offered the boy a piece. After the kid either accepted or declined, Damien would put the rest back into his pants and motion with a hand.
"You got a name?"

He doesn’t seem to concerned about it.
Chase lamented the fact as he stepped over the bodies, still looking at Damien. He harbored no evil intentions; it seemed he earnestly just wanted to stop the thugs. It was noble, but futile. No matter what anyone says; evil will always be around. Chase then realized he was being too philosophical, which was totally unlike him; his ideal was to just breeze through life.
“Yes, I was talkin’ about the way you handled it,” Chase remarked with a nod. “Very… skillful,” he continued, not really knowing how else to describe it. He could have used “messy,” but he might take offense. He took another drag on the cigarette and sighed. “It’s funny, ‘cause I came to take a look at this new school, ignoring the rumors that went around,” Chase recalled, more to himself than Damien. “And shit, they were right. Sometimes it pays to listen.” He then realized Damien probably went to Paragon. The chances were probably 1 to 100 million he didn’t. Uh oh. Did I rile him up too?
“Oh, thank you,” Chase said, flicking the cigarette butt to the side, onto the kid on the ground, and slipped the gum into his mouth. “Yes, I do. Chase. Chase Park.”
