OOC: If I described it poorly, the sun is going down now. Anyone who wants to join can. Hopefully this will be enough of an opening to get someone in here. Like the previous thread stated the four aggressive NPC's are fare game. Try to keep it realistic, but have fun.
Kyousuke had gone through the school day normally. Things were allot more uninteresting when you didn't give reason for being drawn into a fight, or mouthing off to the teachers. It worked fairly well. Other than the fact those he was forced to deal with were fools who consistently tested his patience as he kept the guise up. For the time being it was the best choice. It was as simple as that. At least in theory.
Kyousuke stood in the parking lot, a lamp post pressing between his shoulder blades, his head dipped down and eyes closed in an attempt to avoid it's blinding gaze. He was here for appearances sake, but also to impart some intelligence, and see if it could actually be accepted by the fellow student he knew only as Kevin. He had waited for some time, guessing that Kevin had been trapped inside a classroom for detention.
It turned out to be true. Kevin was caught cheating on a pop quiz, and had to stay back. He was mostly a straight student, and it wasn't normal. But he had been too fazed by almost being mugged. He wasn't used to it anymore, and it seemed to have become more common thanks to transfers. And even a few old rebellions were sure to sprout eventually. "Hey, your.. why are you here?"
Kyousuke slowly looked up as the voice caught his attention, a faint hint of a smile came forward, and then slowly broadened as a chuckle grated past his dry lips. "I just wanted to have a quick chat with you before you headed home." He somehow managed to say with a kindly tone. "Which car is yours?" Kevin responded fairly quickly for someone who was surprised. His hand raised and motioned to the car one to his left.
"Ah, so that's why?" It wasn't a fancy car. But it was brand new, and was driven by a Jr. Little wonder why he was mugged, they thought he had the kind of money they wanted. "No, not exactly.." Kevin replied hesitantly, moving toward his car and sitting down on the hood, reviewing what happened that morning, as it was the topic of discussion. "We bumped into each other. I ended up cursing before I realized it."
A bald faced lie, as the expression went, as he had bumped into them and then proceeded to knowingly call them.. (lets just say that he implied they had gay oral sex with each other) before they decided to mug him, but wasn't willing to say that to the person who pulled him out of the situation. "They just guessed I had money, it could have only been a guess, I guess.." Redundancy, another clue of his nervous attitude, even though a child could see it.
"Oh, so that's how it was. I'd assume you had provoked them." His voice slowly trailed off, his eyes trailing behind Kevin as the two from that morning approached. With two more in tail. "Hey, hey. Ain't those the two from this morning?" He couldn't tell which one of them said it, instead he sighed and rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand, it was more than slightly annoying. It was time to run, but he couldn't bring himself to utterly abandon Kevin. "Yeah it's that Asian shit that threw money at us."
Kyousuke couldn't help himself. As the mental image of the Chinese boy flicking quarters and nickels into their crotches came he laughed loudly, his upper body coming forward as it continued. Who could blame him? It's not every day someone gets hit in the nuts with spare change. Although, it also didn't help the fact that four guys were no doubt going to pick a fight. "Oh so you think that's funny, little shit." One of them spat, and Kevin was already looking like he was ready to run off by the time Kyousuke stopped laughing.

It's those goons again. Kai turned the key around, bringing the engine to life with a spine-tingling roar. The gunmetal S2000 next to the one Kevin mentioned wasn't empty, merely waiting. I wanted to see why the little guy got attacked as well. Turned out he brought it upon himself. Kai smirked and looked in the rearview at the thugs.
This'll be fun, he thought as memories of this morning's incident came back. Money flying, shouts of pain, etc.... He chuckled and put the car into reverse, flooring the gas. The seemingly lifeless vehicle suddenly shot out of its parking spot, almost taking off the side view mirror on Kevin's ride. 06' Si. No wonder he got mugged. The thugs grew bigger and bigger in his rearview until Kai shifted into first and yanked the e-brake, bringing the car a full 180 degrees, smoke beginning to form in his wheel arches as rubber was destroyed. Suddenly, the front splitter was right next to the thug's leg.
This is hilarious. They're frozen in fear.... With a quick jerk of his leg and a yank of the wheel, the front splitter slammed into the thug's leg, tripping him. "Agh!" he yelled as he fell face-first into the asphalt. The other thug finally snapped out of it and attempted to run, but Kai spun the car around in a donut, slamming the rear fender into the thug's back. He was sent sprawling, screaming. He rolled into the grass and lay still.
Kai surveyed the area for more, in case they brought backup, but only Kyousuke and Kevin were seen. Quietly, he brought the car in front of the two and rolled down the window. He gave the engine a small rev and spoke. "Thugs never learn, do they?" he said with a small smile.
But Kevin pointed behind him, at the other two Kai had overlooked. Looks like they brought a posse after all. He clambered over to the passenger seat and opened the door just as one of the thugs ran over. There was a loud thump and he was sent stumbling back, clutching his thigh. Kai shot out of the car and sent his shoulder into him, sending him reeling back into his buddy, who was taken by surprise. With a yell, they were both sent to the group in a tangled mess of limbs and clothes. Kai smirked and began walking away.
Mistake.
Just as he turned around, a large black fist was sent into his face. There was a sickening crack as maybe Kai's nose was broken, and Kai was sent off his feet, to the group. He rolled to the side as a large tan Timberland boot was sent into the spot where his head had been a second before. These guys ain't kidding. He recognized the guy. "I thought I knocked you out," Kai said, breathing heavily, his nose bleeding profusely.
"Thought wrong, nigga." He rushed again, and protruded a small switchblade with a loud snick. He clawed at Kai, who leaned back, dodging it, and leaned into a fence, losing his balance. Fuck, I need room to regain my composure. He grimaced and rolled backwards to his feet.
"Why you runnin,' you little shit!? Where's ya money now!?" he yelled, and ran towards him. Kai spun around with a reverse roundhouse kick, but felt only air. He felt a pair of hands grab his ankle and lift him off his feet, sending him flying.
"Why aren't you helping me?" Kai asked of Kyousuke as he flew through the air and landed in the grass.
Shit, I think I'm going to go to sleep....

OOC: To anyone who reads this.. I'm sorry. Heh. Kyousuke was planning on walking, or running off, if Kevin did. No need for a pointless fight when your outnumbered. But things turned out to be a bit more complicated than that. Everyone's head turned as the sound of a motor went loud, and upon inspection of the vehicle it was confirmed that the damn thing was burning rubber as it turned, actually far enough to hit one of the aggressors legs, and made him limp off to the side after getting up, away from the psychotic driver no doubt. Bullies and thugs were one thing. But someone hitting people with a car, not as normal. Kyousuke on the other hand just pushed himself off the light post and moved to the side of it, tugging Kevin behind it, making sure he had room to jump behind it as well if the car tried to go after them, watching carefully all the while. "Whose driving that thing?" Another thug went sparling, finally rolling his way into the grass off to the side, and stopped moving. "Whoever it is, he's gonna kill someone."As the car came closer he stayed to the side of the light post, not willing to shed his shield quite yet. Until he saw it was actually the Chinese boy from before. Well, he already thought the coins were odd, so he was hardly surprised. "No, they don't. But they do remember to bring more the second time." He said as Kevin pointed at the other two, the words a bit amused, a remark he couldn't hold back. But the Chinese boy seemed to be doing well enough, used his car as a weapon for the second time, and then shouldered one into the other. But as last time, he was too confident of his success it seemed. It was too fast to warn him, and Kevin seemed to have had his fill of the situation. He ran blindly into his car, and somehow managed to get it started in his panicked state. The punch that took the Chinese boy off the ground was a hay-maker, but impressive strength none the less. Kyousuke came around the light post, there wasn't much of a threat to be had via car anymore. But it seemed like he would be in trouble none the less, as it looked like he would need to step in to fight these fools that were willing to beat someone for a few bucks. Although as he thought more on it, it was just as likely that it was because of the public humiliation. The fight took a turn for the worse, and even Kyousuke couldn't ignore the assault any longer. A switchblade was over the line. As the boy went through the air he went forward, tossing his backpack off to the side, hoping to cushion the boys fall but not necessary either. It was just a opportunity to lessen the damage. "Because this fight was unnecessary." He snapped coldly at the Chinese boy, his voice now loud and sharp, his eyes becoming far more intense as well. His right hand slid into his pocket, pulling out his keys. He wouldn't fight anyone without giving them an advantage, making himself seem the underdog or lucky. But now wasn't one of those times. The keys weren't to make his movements more noticeable. It was for his kubo. His fingers slipped into the grooves naturally, and for any martial artist what he would do next would be odd. He didn't fall into a stance. Kyousuke stood with his arms at his sides, legs bent slightly and almost looking like they were touching. This was something Xing Yi Quan had taught him. Easier to push out with one leg and have the other follow if they both started in the same place. "A knife. I have to insist that you desist from your current actions, as they are illegal in nature." The cold tone rang ice through the air again, his eyes waiting to snap to the first sign of forward momentum. He wasn't going to be the aggressor. Not only was it not wise to throw your fist at someone with a knife, self defense wasn't going to get him in trouble. Assault would. "Wait. Your that Asian shit that pulled away our grab. You bastards all look the same!" The one with the knife had yelled loudly, and charged forward. The blade was at his side and ready to lash out in a number of ways. But unfortunately for him, he had picked the most obvious. He brought it straight down like he was swinging a hammer, knife aimed toward the ground. Again, normally Kyousuke would practice restraint in dealing with such people. But when you brought out a knife, you show that you have no care of your own life. Breaking thought away quickly, instinct snapped into place. Kyousuke waited for the knife to be brought halfway down before he stepped to the side, his body turning with the step so he was squared off with the arm. While doing this he brought his right hand up, and then down. The kudo still in his grasp, the keys making a hell of a racket, he brought it down. The first affect of this would be the fact that he was no longer in the direct line of sight. The thugs head turned, but the knife kept going. He didn't even realize what was about to happen. The kubo's point dug into his inner elbow, luckily for the attack striking his radial nerve so the knife dropped instantly. If the knife hadn't dropped, what happened next would be elect an even more painful scream. The arm would have continued down, and with his grip solid, would have effectively stabbed his own thigh. Instead the knife clattered to the ground, and he would temporarily lose control of his hand and forearm. Off balance this thug went to the ground, scraping his arm and rolling over the switchblade, which was quickly pocketed by Kyousuke so it could not be used against him a second time. Now fully engaged into the fight, he was the target for the last member of their little gang. "The hell?! You son of a- you stabbed him with your keys!" The last shouted angrily, although was also shaken by the speed shown to him. "Fuck.. a car, then you!" Maybe he was actually realizing that his chance of winning were incredibly low now that it was merely one against another. And how large of a mistake it was to not charge with his friend with the switchblade. "I'll beat the shit out of you!" Or maybe not. This one charged as well, but obviously not in the same was as the last. Kyousuke was aimed sideways at him, the kubo still in his right hand. This one seemed to think he knew martial arts, or perhaps thought a spinning back kick would be the most damaging. But with such a thin target, it was a poor choice. Kyousuke spun the kubo from a hammer fist position, to placing his thumb along the tip of the weapon, making his weapon ready for a jab. As the thug came closer Kyousuke spread his stance, jabbing his foot forward and catching it on the charging males lead foot. This placing him off balance, and the kick skidding over cloth, Kyousuke jabbed his right hand out, and stuck the kubo somewhere near his solar plexus, stopping all momentum. The blow retracted quickly, and Kyousuke stepped out of the way, letting the blow and the fact he was off balance let him fall to his knees, holding his stomach. Sticking his keys back into his pocket casually, he began to step back and to the side. He wouldn't show any of them his back as he made his way to the Chinese boy, intending to check and see if he was alright as his left hand dialed 911, if for no other reason than to have the one that attacked with a knife sent to jail for the night. As the cellphone rang he crouched down, poking the Chinese boy firmly in the side a few times to see if he would get a reaction. If nothing else it was amusing to feel like he was poking a corpse with a stick. "I don't want to have to call an ambulance and the police, wake up."

Kai feigned weakness for a moment longer, and groaned. He tried to breathe with his nose. Instead, his mouth seemed to fill with foul-tasting fluids. Blood. Taste of iron, he thought, and sa up slowly, rubbing his face. He touched his nose and felt a sharp pain. Probably only a fracture. He stood up groggily, and looked at Kyousuke with a wry smile.
who would have thought. The kid's like Jet Li. attacking with keys? He thought about how he'd struck that nerve with his key. Looks like a future therapist or something. Doctor, at least. That what all Asian kids would like to become. That, or Triad members....
"They were going to chase after you. Probably had friends right around the corner...." Kai said, rubbing his chin. He began walking to his car, the door still open. I'm surprised it hasn't been stolen yet. The car's worth a lot more than sixty bucks.... he thought, and stopped before he got into his car.
"Need a ride?" Kai asked, half smiling. "Least I can do for saving my sorry ass."

Kyousuke raised a brow slightly as he heard the groan. He sat up, rubbed his face, seeming pretty groggy from the hit he took. "Well, your alive." He confirmed, the cal went through and he held the cellphone to his ear. "Hello? Yes. I've been attacked by a teenagers, presumably students. Location, Hircine parking lot." After getting an ETA he clicked his phone shut, and looked over to the Chinese boy. He seemed to have no desire to go to a hospital, but his nose looked like it took a good hit.
"It was a possibility." He confirmed as Kai rubbed his chin, starting to walk to his car. Kyousuke stayed in place, his eyes still on the four students who didn't seem to be in any hurry to get up. In a few minutes they'd all be stuffed into the back of a car or handcuffed. "A ride? No. Although I will never hear the end of not tucking Yumiko in tonight, I have a responsibility here. Technically I should hold you for driving to endanger as well."
He turned to stare at the Chinese boy, deathly serious. It would be hard to compare the carefree, and fake, version of Kyousuke from that morning from him now. "But as I caused you trouble originally I will say you got in the car too quickly, and I didn't catch your licence plate." It was his way of apologizing for that morning, but it wasn't something he would normally allow. "You have three minutes to be on the road and not look like you came from the parking lot."

[Sorry if it didn't go the way you intended (however you intended :/), but I can't think of a way to extend the thread.]
Kai looked at the boy before him. I knew that wasn't the real you before.... Kai thought, thinking of the goofy character he saw this morning. He spat out some blood and leaned on the ragtop. "You know.... you didn't have to call the authorities. Aside from a few bruises or fractures, they're gonna live...." Kai said, taking a pack of Orbit out. He slipped a piece into his mouth and flicked one over to Kyousuke. "Although I guess it's better this way...." He looked at his cellphone for the time. Two more minutes.
He shrugged and got into his car, giving it a quick rev before closing both doors and stepping on the gas. The turbo gave a low growl before spooling up, sending the diminutive Honda speeding out of the parking lot.
Interesting guy.

OOC: I've thought of something that would allow us to continue this thread at least one more post for each of us. I'll tell you on MSN when you next log on.
Edit: This is a reserve slot, not a buffer. ^^;
Edit #2:
Kyousuke was still looking at the Chinese boy, amused that he took bleeding so easily. As the blood was spat, he looked back to the others, listening to his explanation of why he thought he shouldn't have called the police. "Yes I did. The moment they pulled a weapon on me this ceased to be a fight. I'll hand over the weapon and them." He said with a small shrug of his shoulders. He wasn't an expert in American law, but he learned more than the average citizen it seemed. Best to know than to not know and use it as an excuse.
Kyousuke's hand came up, catching the small white object that was flicked at him. While inspecting it, he felt his shift in his pocket, falling a bit lower. "What is this?" He asked, holding it between his thumb and forefinger, and inspecting it. He was looking past it then after a moment, one of the thugs had started to come around, but only enough to breathe heavier through the pain. "I won't use it, but since we've become acquaintances, it would be worthwhile to know your name."

"Kenji Morei." Kai grinned at Kyousuke. "You must be surprised that a Chinese kid had been given a Japanese name." But this was a lie. When Kai fled the last city he'd been in, he'd taken the identity of a Japanese boy who'd gone missing several years prior. What some people don't understand about changing your identity is that you don't simply whip one up from thin air. You need to take an existing one. He blew a bubble. More than likely, the real Kenji is dead. His body never found.
Kai slowly chewed his gum, looking at Kyousuke, who seemed to have relaxed a bit. Pretty educated in the bullshit ways of American Law, though he's Japanese. He blew a small bubble and let it pop, catching the mixture of rubber and sugar back into his mouth. Disgusting. You've no idea how many germs get onto your gum just from doing that. As if provoking the thought, he did it again, and again. Then something came to his mind. "You know, if this gets taken to court, it'll be a bit hard to prove your innocence." He paused, letting the words sink in. "Your fingerprints are all over the knife, plus it's you that's holding it. For all they know, it could have been you attacking, and them struggling with you. They are the ones that are seriously injured. Neither me nor you have suffered from cuts or slashes, and it's four against one. That little shit Kevin ran off. No one else is at school right now."
Soon, sirens could be heard, as both an ambulance and a patrol car came speeding onto campus. I hope this doesn't screw me over in any way. He spat out his gum and slipped another piece out. The guy told me I could leave. Yet I don't completely trust him.
"Can I do the talking?" Gonna have to twist the events a bit.

Kyousuke raised a brow slightly at the name he was given. A Japaneses name, from someone he could clearly distinguish as a Chinese male. An oddity, but he wouldn't delve into it. For all he knew it was just an adopted name, or perhaps he was only half Chinese. "Nijo Kinuye Kyousuke. I'd prefer being called Kyo." He said his name in return, his tone cold, but his intentions were to be polite and give his name in return. He took the Que from Kenji, who had placed the gum in his mouth and began to chew it, and copied the movements. Odd to think that a eighteen year old never had gum, if you didn't consider his childhood.
While chewing the gum Kyousuke slowly moved to sit down, taking out the black plated switch blade, and putting it on the tared parking lot in front of him, his legs curled under him. The others seemed to have resigned to the fact that sires would be coming, or were too out of it to even have heard it. His eyes traveled up, gaugeing the Chinese boy once more, and seemingly to come away with a bitter taste in his mouth. He had the distinct feeling that Kenji was attempting to manipulate him. It seemed an interesting challenge of wits, so he merely chewed on the minty gum, and listened.
"Your logic requires two things. A record of violence on my part. And none on theirs." He spoke quietly, tapping the switchblade with his forefinger as he looked up at him. "Kevin would come to the trial for my help. The knife has at least two sets of fingerprints. They have suffered no cuts or slashes either." He took pause, and motioned with a small nod in Kenji's direction. "And your bleeding quite well. Has it even stopped yet?" He countered carefully, a faint smile on his lips as he reached behind him blindly, and pulled his backpack forward. "I have no record of aggression of violence in this state thus far, let alone this school."
Sirens began to play lightly in the background, a patrol car and an ambulances sirens began to meld together in a high pitched squeal in Kyousuke's ears. It was going to be a long night, but he was confident he would end up no worse for wear. "That would depend. Do you intend to be dishonest?" He replied quickly, his eyes aimed to the side, waving to the police cruiser who had come into the parking lot first, giving him his location. While waving he had opened his cellphone, and used it as well. A beacon in the night worked fairly well, for the cruiser turned int heir direction, the ambulance followed.

[Sorry, my AIM fucked up. Trying to get back on....]
I have at most a minute.
"Most people in this school do have a record of violence, and I doubt you're an exception." He watched the way Kyo chewed the gum uneasily, as if he were not familiar. He's from Japan. Probably been here a while, though. Speaks fluent English. Kai shook his head in disdain. "I'm fairly sure you do, gaijin, in your old country, at least." He looked at the limp bodies. "They're bound to have some record, although I'm sure it's not that serious." He paused. "I saw that knife close up. It's almost brand new. The punk probably bought it recently to feel bad ass. If the punks were a serious threat, they'd know how to fight."
Kai blew his nose, letting dried blood fall to the ground with a small splat. Almost. It could have been worse. "I'm fine," Kai answered, showing him that the bleeding had nearly stopped. Kai laughed. "It's a possibility that you attacked me, is it not? You are essentially unhurt." Kai's lips curled into a small mischievous smile. "Kevin's no help. If he can't even stand up for himself in front of school children, what makes you think he can defend himself in front of adults and government officials?"
Kai chuckled, and kept talking. I'm talking a lot tonight. Good or bad? "Not exactly dishonest. Just telling it so you and me can keep out of trouble, because the way things look right now, you're the one in deep shit. Got it?" Kai said, and got off the bonnet of his car to greet the police officer.
I hope to God you keep your mouth shut, Kyo.

OOC: I'd almost prefer a third party to play the cops, but I don't know anyone who could do it.
Kyousuke sighed lightly as Kenji attempted to feel out a sense of his character. With anyone else, this would have worked. But he quite literally had no record except a single incident that was out of his control, and he wanted to help Kenji's nose bleed a bit more as he was forced to remember it. This moment of aggressive thought showed in his eyes, if only for an instant. "I have no record." He repeated sharply, not eying the others, as he sighed heavily. This conversation was going to dictate the direction this all went, and he was quite certain that he'd win. As he was not trying to protect himself, but do what was right, a distinct difference and a clearer standpoint.
Kyousuke then smiled. Kenji was giving away a bit too much. "Oh? You were in the state of mind to pay such close attention to a blade in the dark?" He found the thought a bit amusing, but it was merely to waste a moment as his mind sorted through it all over once again. He only became a part of the fight when someone drew a serious weapon. Kenji was the aggressor of the fight. And has lost thanks to a single hit and then being thrown by the leg. He himself only administered enough damage to make the encounter end.
"And, in all honestly, they didn't fight much worse than you." He commented after a moment, his shoulders circulating for a moment, before resting comfortably. The gum in his mouth began to lose it's flavor slowly, and he was starting to lose interest in chewing it. He reached into his bag and pulled out a tissue, spitting the gum into it and then curled it up into a ball before shoving it back in. "Kevin would feel less pressured in a situation where he is not about to be hit." He countered quickly, and then continued after a moment.
"Those four were attacked by you before they began anything. Do you think they'd take your side over mine knowing this?" He shook his head, and then moved himself to the side, pushing the bag out, and placing his arms against his stomach. The squad car was pulling to a stop, the switch blade was out of his reach, and he was in a neutral position on the ground purposefully. "Kenji, I'll merely recommend something and then quote something to you. Do not lie, in any definition. Secondly; 'The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.'" Kenji wasn't exactly on Kyousuke's bad side when it started. But attempting to manipulate him and then place a hidden threat before the squad car approached, was a serious mistake on his part.
Two police officers exited the squad car, both with one hand on their hip, ready to pull their weapons since a knife was involved. "Everyone, hands up or over your head, now!" Their voices boomed even without the aid of the loudspeakers they surely had somewhere in their cruiser. Kyousuke placed his hands above his head and laced his fingers together. "Office, I'm the one who made the call. The weapon is on the ground to my right." He called out, his eyes closed, body relaxed, showing no signs of hostility. If Kenji wanted to play a game of wits, he would either need to pull something substantial out of his as, or just stay silent. "Nazgarl: "It's better to be quiet and have people think you're stupid than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
