Laying down on the queen size bed in his room, Keisuke's eyes glared toward the ceiling's all encompassing emptiness. Almost naked, wearing his boxers, his body trembled slightly due to his air conditioner being on full blast, but, he didn't move. He didn't want to. Kei's not the boy he used to be back in New York, even before Varron, where he would stay in the same place for hours at a time... sulking, complaining, crying, throwing himself into what looked like a forced depression whenever he was alone, whenever he was allowed himself the time to contemplate and reminisce in his lonesome. Now, however, he simply doesn't find the need to act like a little weakling, and so can now stay situated in a place for long periods of time, without being sorry for himself. And, thankfully, now of all things he merely looks toward an optimistic future ahead of himself and his family. All the regrets he had, or "will have", doesn't come to mind. Somehow, he's overcome this, and contemplates on current endeavors and conflicts. Afterall, he's in the real world now, and, despite the circumstances... he was going to be... a teacher.
At Hircine High.
His slightly chilled right hand made it's way from being extended toward his far right, onto his hair, brushing the soft fibers gently to the back of his head. It was shorter now, and neater too. With the same hand, he slowly dragged it down his right side of the face, and left it resting on his breast. Now rotating his head to his right, albeit slightly, his eyes nonchalantly looked toward the dark grey suit hanging off of his body-mirror; Silk-grey tie spotted with black diamonds and all. The aroma of his freshly polished shoes filled the room with "renewed responsibility", reminding him of, well, school. Dressing formally for an educational experience? It was catholic school all over again. However, it was extremely refreshing, since he actually did like wearing the uniforms, though he "had" to keep that a secret growing up. Closing his eyes shut, he released a big yawn and directed it back to the ceiling. Curious because of his yawn, he stuck his head up and looked toward his left, on the nightstand adjacent to his mattress.
"11:20 (am) huh.." He mumbled. Kei didn't want to waste the day, however if he was seemingly tired this early, it wasn't really worth sacrificing a few extra hours of sleep.
"Kazuki... Taiku... Mr. Shinato Akimoto..." Playing with his friend's name, a very minuscule grin appeared on his face. "I wonder. What are you up to, eh? Nah... didn't mean to bother you, but, when do we start this thing, brother?" Spewing out words without even really thinking, it was as if he was leaving him a message, or rehearsing on how to approach Kazuki on the subject matter. But, it was just a means of entertaining himself. In the end, he really would have to wait for Taiku's word on when everything would unfold. Afterall, Keisuke's friend isn't stupid, and therefore he assumes he supplied different residential locations on behalf of Dain and himself for their own protection. Which would ultimately mean... no matter who receives a call from the school or board of education, the one who'd have to inform him on special interviews or meetings in general would be the Club Legion owner himself.
"Yo, E.K.." Two knocks against his door, signaled Keisuke's younger brother's entrance. "Dude..." Keisuke spoke slowly, as if waiting for his brother to come in. Opening the door slowly (Kei's brother), he turned around facing the door to close it gently, and turned back around, looking at his brother resting on the bed. "I dare you to call me that again." Now both of his hands were on his face, massaging it not too hard, to give him a "wakey" feeling. Seige grinned, and kept talking. "Hehe. What?" It was an inside joke; not only was it a pun because of how he pronounces Kei, "Kay", the "EK" was to taunt his older brother because of little drama circulating him. This guy from back home had a Civic EK hatchback, with a K-swap thrown in for good measure. After Kei destroyed the Honda-with-great power-to-weight ratio because of it's K20 with his brother's STi, the "friend" made a ton of excuses and ultimately pissed everyone off. But, there are many reasons aside from that that aggravated Keisuke, however, one of the big ones were because of the person's ignorance. Words that he'll never forget, were "Watch. I'm gonna throw in a K24 and strip everything off, man. You're done"... was he stupid? It certainly was a stronger motor... but, if the car was gonna be even lighter, the added power of that K-series found in the Acura TSX would produce too much torque, and would cause the wheels to keep burning out off the line in a real race. Keisuke got involved with cars because it was his stress-reliever; he enjoyed everything there was... but with someone like the Honda-Freak around, it wasn't worth it. And he would certainly not abandon his interests because of an ignorant fool. Heh. It was during these moments, that he wished he'd seen his old friend Ein Gilsin; this titan was probably the smartest kid of the whole Varron populace, dealing with those ignorant enough to speak. Hehe, the last time they were together was when his friend seemingly got into a 'pickle' with three inexperienced newcomers to the school, and presented himself as merely a weight to balance things out.
Seige: "But, yeah... what's on your mind? I figured if I left you alone til now you would have found a solution." Grabbing the 'computer' chair with the rolling wheels, he rotated the seat and sat on it with his arms laid horizontally on the top edge of the back support, leaning on his forearms. "Am I wrong?" He peacefully directed his illuminating, tired hazel eyes toward his brother, waiting patiently for a response.
Keisuke let out a sigh. His brother wasn't stupid. "No..." He said, stretching in place. "However. You're not right." Afterwards, he released a weird yelp of satisfaction from his stretching. Looking towards Seige's confused face, he gave him a second or two to think about it. Afterall, if you're not wrong, then you're right. Then, what's the situation? His brother's reasoning was correct. However...
"There is no solution." He placed his hands behind his head, elbows to the side, placing his slightly raised eyes in the direction of his brother.
"Wait... what?" Looking at the floor for only two seconds, he reverted his eyes as if a big "Ohhhhhh" came out of his mouth. "So... there wasn't a problem in the first place. I was just too quick to assume." While speaking, he nodded his head carefully, looking at Keisuke. "But if then... what's going on?"
"Just needed to get things organized in this stupid head of mine. Remember, I'm going to be a teacher at your school. And, I'm afraid that I'm not sure what would happen because of it."
"In terms of what? You mean me?"
"Heh. Don't be stupid." A somewhat mocking smile appeared on his face. "I'm least worried about you. And, besides- only few of Hircine's staff know that I'm your guardian. There's a lot of influences in the school. I want to say, that above all else; a Hircine teacher, an aspiring futbolista, or a personal trainer... I'm a Varron graduate." There was no reply from Seige... only a silence that echoed Keisuke's feelings. "Unfortunately... the situations at your school force me to say such a thing. Heh. Hircine may of been, or still is, a better school than Varron could ever be, but, at least the kids from back home acted more maturely."
Seige merely kept his mouth shut. His older brother was now just talking with his pride. Varron... more mature? Yeah. Right. That's why they fought every God damn second of the day. If he merely meant to distinguish the fact that they didn't care about labels, then, that might be acceptable... but seriously. A couple hundered of the state's worst students transferring to a peaceful school that almost knows no "war"? Yeah. Of course they'd be on edge!
"Heh. Whatever you say, bro. Just remember to watch what comes out of your mouth next time, alright?" It was... almost condescending- not, it was. And, Kei didn't like it at all. His eyes
were screaming the words "Get out"... but Seige knew. He left cheerfully, and didn't even care. He was disappointed, and merely took a drive with a soccer ball in hand to pass the time. And once again... Kei was alone.
"The next step forward..." He took a great breath, releasing it slowly. "It's nostalgic.. it's like my first days in Varron all over again." He snapped up from his bed, and twisted his body toward the right. Now sitting down on the edge, with his feet planted on the floor, he had only two more things to do.
"Taiku... I'm ready. Tell Dain too." As he closed his cell phone, leaving a message in Kazuki's voicemail, he paced toward his closet. Squatting, he pulled out a box which was underneath his sneakers. Opening it slowly, his eyes gracefully hovered over what was in it.
His black, leather gloves. The ones that were cut off at the fingers at the midpoint from the knuckles. And, next to them... was a ten inch silver chain, with a platinum pocket watch attached to it. These were mementos from his days as a tournament fighter during his introduction in Varron; things he knew he wouldn't need to see in a very long time. Who knew? Kei was right.
He was ready.
