Recently, issues of metagaming have come up through the VIP section. In case you are unfamiliar with what metagaming is, it is where your character knows things he or she shouldn't.
This isn't hard to avoid when you're only concerned with your own threads, but can get confusing when reading other peoples threads. Remember, just because YOU the player knows something, doesn't mean YOU the character automatically knows it.
There are small occurances of this where people can abuse the correlation factor, meaning that because someone else knows I heard it from them. This includes other PCs involved in threads but never told you ICly, or more commonly any means of NPCs. Sometimes these are acceptable, sometimes not. Its a fine line.
Other times they can be more extreme, like over-estimating your character perception to the point of mind reading, or blatantly not establishing any IC reason for knowing such information.
Metagaming ruins storylines, and heavily frustrates all parties involved. Certain people accused have been spoken to privately, but consider this a board wide warning.
Friends don't let friends Metagame.

Friends don't let friends Metagame. Remember kids, no matter what your friends tell you, Metagaming isn't cool, and if you catch a friend Metagaming, don't try to handle it yourself, tell a parent or adult immediately!
