Thanks for clicking. Now, onto business. This is actually quite difficult for me to do, but I believe that in the end it will be for the best all-round.
I have decided that, after the best part of two years, it's time I stepped down as the head administrator here. My reasons for this are such:
Firstly, my attention to the board (as I'm sure many of you can attest to) is appalling as of late, and despite my efforts, is still dismal. This is unacceptable on my part, and is the main reason for the change to take place. I cannot realistically judge, maintain and run a community if I'm not actively involved in it, as I'm sure most of you will agree.
Secondly, I have found myself struggling for ideas to write with as a whole. It was unfair for me to force the board into stagnation as it as now because I believed that the great idea would 'come along tomorrow'. We need something to get the creative juices flowing, and to be honest, I'm all out of those just now. I have a handful of threads that I'm struggling to reply to, and can only do so out of obligation to the other participants. I'm not -enjoying- posting, and I told myself that when that happened, I would both step down as the admin and leave the board with good memories of it.
I refuse to do the latter, but I know I must do the former.
As such, I have elected that Kyukaku will replace me as the primary administrator for Hircine (through control and management of the primary administrator account). Also, I have removed -all- staff positions to allow him to re-assign the staff members that he believes will be the most suitable for the current time. I too have noticed the lax attitude in the staff, and had eventually intended to alter this myself, but this is something I feel he can do to get a proper start taking over the mantle here.
You guys have been awesome to lead this long, I've enjoyed every day as the admin here and I hope to continue enjoying time here as a good-old normal member. Whatever the outcome, I'll be here until the very end. They put me in with the foundations, didn't ya know? ^^
As a parting note, I've also read the remarks made in Johns most recent thread OOC, and will make one final declaration as the admin of Hircine High. If this board is rebooted, I honestly believe it -will- destroy us.
I would rather kaboom the entire board than reboot it, if I'm honest. I understand the logic going into the idea, but the fact is, Victoria said what I would. You don't put years into something and just go 'Oops, don't like that, let's start again.'. If people want to start fresh (which encompasses the old-OLD members more than anything), we should just end our storylines with them, retire the characters and create entirely new ones. The storyline at Paragon/Hircine is awkward, and most likely the problem in itself, but destroying the backstory for the board is an obscene idea, if I'm honest.
There's nothing to gain from wiping everything that's happened, because in all honesty a lot of the members have accomplished a lot here. That's unfair to make them lose all that progress and work.
I know there's got to be a better idea than just wiping the whole thing.
(I'm aware some of you might have seen this briefly posted in the current debate thread, but I felt it more appropriate to post these altogether.)
As of posting this, Tyler Scott aka Kyukaku is the new administrator of Hircine High. I hope he'll get the same reception (or better, whichever works) that I did.
Thank you all.
