“’I don’t give a goddamn about your f*cking principles, just get it done, or I’ll make sure you’ll transfer to Paragon Institute… and over there, they like to torture new meat for several days… get my drift? What I’m asking isn’t that much, you wouldn’t want to upset your principal now, would you?”
Shuya flipped his cell phone and slid it back into his pocket. His conversation with one of the smaller fries hadn’t gone smoothly, but that was no different than any other day. He had students work for him, either willingly or not, to be his eyes and ears. He had them infiltrate any group in order to get updates or like in this case, arrange meetings with certain individuals. Of course, some students knew about some of Shuya’s ‘minions’. They were seen as cowardly rats, but still mostly ignored since they didn’t cause too much trouble. It ensured that Shuya didn’t have to make personal contact with anyone he didn’t wish to. People could attend to his students first… For now however, he had to have a little conversation with one of the more popular students, and he didn’t intend to hunt him down. Instead, he would arrange a meeting with the individual. He had just been on the phone with one of Kyukaku's followers, a student who, even though he honoured and followed Kyukaku, didn't want to risk being expelled. He would let Kyukaku know about the meeting Shuya wished between the two and he would ensure that no one else even knew Kyukaku and Shuya were meeting.
‘Tyler better show up… his days as a captain may be numbered if he doesn’t… He still owes me, so I doubt he’ll ignore my invite. But he has grown bold, perhaps he tries to challenge me… If that’s the case, he isn’t cut out to be a captain anyway… But I guess he’ll show up… yeah… Good people are too easy to read anyway…’
Shuya moved out of his comfy chair and walked over to the newly painted wall. The smell had already left the room and Shuya softly moved his arm to head height, placed his head against it and leaned the other side of the arm against the wall. He sighed slightly as he stood there for several seconds. Things were all falling together now but there was still an uncertain variable in all of this. Seth Calloway. The guy was a reflection of Shuya… and that troubled him. If any ever tried to read Shuya, they would fail miserably. One moment he might appear to do something from the best part of his heart, the other moment out of pure self serving base. Well, Seth was the same. What drove him was hard to say, but Shuya had the feeling the student wouldn’t turn on him soon, not as long as they could both benefit from one another.
Finally, Shuya pushed off from the wall and left his office. He would go to his gym around the block, where he was given private teaching in free style fighting. Only he and his trainer were ever there, always on different times, always when Shuya felt the need to pick up some new techniques or just let off some steam. The trainer and owner of the gym would close up and see him privately. He had an hour before his meeting with Kyukaku was supposed to take place anyway so he could let off some steam for about thirty minutes…
*One hour later*
Shuya placed his tie exactly in the middle of his chest as he gave the mirror a final glare. Leaving the showers behind him, he exited the building and crossed the street, taking a turn at the end and already facing the school again… his school. He entered the grounds and eventually the main building. After several minutes, he arrived at the music centre, a large classroom where students were able to tune their instruments or just play a little with their band. He had called for one of his subordinates, the music teacher. He had invited one of his bands and they were practicing for a show they were giving this week… or perhaps the next. It mattered little, all that mattered was that there were several students watching them play and the noise was loud enough to ensure no one could eavesdrop. Just perfect.
Shuya moved to the right section of the room where about thirty seats were placed for people to sit down and relax. About half of them were taken and Shuya took seat on the final row at the end. In a radius of two seats, there was no one sitting next to him. The few that had been sitting near him immediately took off as he sat down. Perhaps out of fear, perhaps out of hatred. Whatever it was, it would give Kyukaku enough options to sit down wherever he pleased. Placing his right foot on the chair in front of him, Shuya’s eyes stared at the door, waiting for the ‘captain’ to join his presence…

"Hey Tyler, word down the road is that Shuya wants to see you in the band room."
"Silly Shuya, he knows I don't do private saxophone shows. Or any saxophone shows."
"...ha. Funny...Anyways, I was told to tell you that."
"Mmk."
Kyukaku nodded and stood up from the lunch table, already having finished his lunch and paying no heed to the lack of enthusiasm of his friend when it came to his joke. Kyukaku had a good idea why Shuya wanted to see him, but he tried not to dwell upon it too much. The two of them had a very conflicting set of principles, even if on occasion they seemed like friends. With the Co-Principal's apparent liking to Seth, however, it seemed like whatever friendship they almost had would probably dissipate one way or another. Regardless, as a student he still had the duty to walk through the band doors.
"Eww, band geeks." Kyukaku said to himself, shaking his head at the bad memories associated to marching band and an ex-girlfriend.
"Now where is he?" Kyu asked, once again to himself as he searched around the room, his eyes landing on Shuya. "Oh, right in front of me."
Kyukaku would make his way towards the older man, taking a seat two down from Shuya, giving them both the one in the middle so they weren't uncomfortably close. Personal space was to be respected, not invaded!
"So, you've brought me here to gaze upon your secret army, I presume."

Shuya shook slightly as Kyukaku, as usual, immediately threw a random remark his way. Sighing once before he responded, his right foot remained on the chair in front of him.
“My private army? No, I feel no need to share my army with you, Scott. I’ve invited you here because there are several matters that need to be addressed that benefit us both. But if you’re going to be cocky, you’re free to leave right now. Just know that I won’t give you a second chance…”
His words might’ve been slightly threatening, he was at least telling the full truth. If Kyukaku was foolish enough to walk away now, he didn’t have to bother on coming back when he found out what Shuya’s true intentions were. Kyukaku was talking to his principle now, and though Shuya had never really cared about how he was addressed, he was demanding some respect. He looked at Kyukaku and than at the door, signalling him he was allowed to leave if he wanted to. Only if Kyukaku remained seated, he would continue speaking.
“Well now that I have your attention, you want to continue and throw stupid remarks at me or can we talk business?”
Shuya waited only a few seconds before he continued speaking.
“To put it simple, I need you to remain the captain. You’ve been creating more and more enemies amongst the Hircine student body and my sources tell me there is a large group thinking of a way to get rid of you. Now, I must say that I don’t mind getting your big mouth out of the picture, but I’m afraid that aside from your skills, I’ll need someone who will be fully motivated to do his tasks… both as captain and another. In any case, we need to ensure you don't get beaten by any of the students in the upcoming weeks...”
He paused a moment, allowing Kyukaku to take in what he had just said and give him the opportunity to respond. Shuya thought he could take on Kyukaku if the need was there, but Kyukaku had grown so much as a fighter, it would be a waste to in the end face him as an opponent, rather than have him on your side as an ally. And who better to assist in bringing down someone who would be a potential threat. And with it, get the support of the higher ups and perhaps, finally get rid of his so called colleague. This school ought to be his to command… and his alone.

Ass.
Right off the bat, Kyukaku began wondering why he was still sitting here, putting up with Shuya's dickeries. Any inclination to lighten the situation had gone far out the window, as Kyukaku's eyes would narrow in on the sight of "the Principal." A few months back, he was a student. Back then, he was still condescending. Whoever decided to give him a promotion sure had no qualms about sending him on a bigger ego trip. Regardless, curiosity once again got the better of the school captain, and he remained where he was.
As if the first remark hadn't gotten his point across, Shuya once again berated Kyukaku for his humor. Sure, his jokes were never good, but that really wasn't the point. Either way, the millions of quips stored in his head would only be wasted on Shuya now. Damn, they were such good ones too.
"Wow. For someone who wanted to get straight to the point, you're sure good at stating the obvious. Before we continue, let's get something straight. I'm the Captain for Hircine High, working for the Student Body. I'm not your Captain. I obviously already intended on keeping my title. Now, you can keep being cryptic, or you can stop wasting my time. Get to the point, Shuya. What do you want from me?"

“ I never said I wanted to get straight to the point, Scott, so stop trying to be a wiseguy. And yeah, you’re the school’s captain, but you fail to see that that would change in an instance if I were to drop my faith in you. You see, whether you like it or not, I have vouched for you at the even higher ups. Perhaps you remember a little incident with five students dropping in unannounced, bombing a high school and killing it’s students. Well, let’s just say that if it was truly required, such a cleansing could commence again, targeting this school’s captain and followers. Instead, I have transferred students who are both strong and loyal to the principal from other schools to this one… Only to assist you. So instead of continuously attacking me with your sneering words, you might want to ease up a little and be thankful for the fact that I have never tried to screw you over and instead assisted you, without you even knowing it.”
Shuya remained calm during what he said, though he felt slightly annoyed. What he had said might’ve not been entirely true, but the fact remained that he had always helped Kyukaku out, instead of turning against him. He had gotten him out of jail and for that, Kyukaku didn’t even seem thankful a bit. He had allowed the boy to become the school’s captain and the fact that he resented Shuya was for the best, since it would mean that the students who were against Shuya teamed up with Kyukaku. And even though he was against Shuya, Kyukaku knew that fighting Shuya would mean terrible injuries to hundreds of students… and since he was an easy to read good guy, Shuya knew he wouldn’t risk that.
“Anyway, making you promise that I want this to stay between the two of us is pointless anyway, since you’ll probably want to do the opposite from what I request, but anyway, let’s just say I’m working towards taking an old friend of yours down… framing him for things he might’ve done in the past… but got away with. I’ll allow you to turn the tables, getting even so to say. In the process, I want to show the world that what happens at this new school doesn’t work… it only worsens the problem. That will lead to that friend of yours being taken down even further… I guess you know of whom I speak?”
Shuya guessed that Kyukaku would understand who he was talking about by now and that he would keep his mouth shut about this, knowing the importance. Of course, all of this, if done correctly, would show the board how inadequate the rapist and murderer truly was and would hopefully lead to Shuya becoming principal of Hircine alone. And if that was the case, he would finally be able to start building up his own empire… doing as he pleased with the right sub ordinates. But first, a common goal would have to be reached with one of the most stubborn people Shuya knew… Tyler Scott…

"So you did know..."
Kyukaku would slowly turn his face towards Shuya, any lingering part of his joking personality completely vanishing as his eyes grew hard. He had suspected Shuya knew of Trent's return, but until now he hadn't been able to confirm his suspicions. Now that he had, however, it changed everything.
"You would have done to continue pretending to be my friend, Mr. Katsumoto. I might have owed you for what you've done in the past, but I'm tired of you waving that in my face. Now, were completely even. Knowing you, you've known about Trent's return since day one. The fact you failed to mention that to me, completely puts my life in jeopardy."
Kyukaku was past being angry or sad with Shuya, simply becomming...dissapointed. He was naiive to think that forming some sort of friendship with such a man could help bring him into doing the right. If he had listened to Kazuki and Leon, he would have prevented this whole thing. Shuya had been given an inch as a principal, and now that he'd taken a mile there'd be no going back.
"Our relationship aside," Kyukaku paused, standing up from his chair and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"You've crossed a line. For someone as insightful as you think you are, you should have known better. You try to blackmail and threaten me with revivials of the Evil 5, all the while trying to convince me that you've been on my side? Sorry to dissapoint you Shuya, but go to hell. I'll pull myself up by my bootstraps and deal with my problems as I always have: by myself."
Kyukaku would instantly turn and begin to walk away from a surely enraged Shuya. Before he could interrupt Kyukaku had one final thing to say, before letting Shuya say or do whatever he could to stop him.
"Trent's made me cross a line before, which in a way, made him win. I've sworn to myself that I'll never cross that line again. Don't worry, I'll take care of Trent, but in my way. But watch out, after him it's beginning to look like you'll be next."

It was obvious now. Kyukaku had started digging his own grave. For once in his life, Shuya had been honest to someone. For once he had left his standards aside and instead of planning something solo, he had actually counted on someone. He had actually thought that Kyukaku wasn’t such a bad guy and could easily be that one person Shuya could trust and work with. But unfortunately, Tyler’s stubbornness and stupidity were in the way. He had tossed Shuya’s good faith and gestures aside as if they were nothing and claimed that he would eventually rule supreme, after dealing with Trent first and eventually, with Shuya.
Shuya rose to his feet as Kyukaku did and spoke to the man immediately after he had finished speaking to Shuya.
“Tyler, I urge you to reconsider. My example of the evil five was simply a statement of how powerful the school board is. Don’t you understand? I’ve been put here because I made the right connections and from my position…”
He wavered. Was he truly prepared to let someone knew about his final goals? His final reach? Through blackmailing, murdering, stealing, threatening and abusing he had come this far. He had caused a lot of pain, a lot of suffering. But all of his efforts, though he didn’t care too much about others… all of this had been for one final reason eventually. As everyone had started hating him, had started despising him. He knew he earned to be hated… but would at least one person understand?
“I am finally in the position to take this godforsaken system down. I am finally able to fight the school board, though unnoticed by them. I am finally able to do what I’ve been wanting to do all along. Yeah, I’ve did a lot of bad things and yeah, I don’t give a damn… but you of all people shouldn’t doubt my intentions… But I guess there’s nothing to it if your mind is truly set.”
Shuya sighed slowly, before he continued once more.
“Tyler Scott, expect to receive your transfer papers to Paragon Institute soon. If you’re truly going to be in my way, I’ll have no other choice but to use the power that has been given to me to transfer you to a new location. If you truly wish to take down Trent and after him, me, you’d best start on the other side. Unless… there’s something you need to add to all this?”
Shuya looked straight into Kyukaku’s eyes. Did this boy truly hate him that much? Had Shuya really behaved in such a way that Kyukaku had lost all his trust in him? Well, perhaps Kyukaku was right to mistrust Shuya. Shuya didn’t care about anyone… he did what he wanted and even if the goals were right, they didn’t justify the means. But everyone would gain from this. Trent would fall. The system would crumble. And Shuya would remain at Hircine as the one principle, ready to do whatever he wanted. And if Kyukaku had to be transferred in order to do that, then he had no choice. Kyukaku made his own choices…

Shuya's words would leave Kyukaku standing in place, stopping his exit for the moment. He continued to look at the door, giving Shuya his back as the older man continued to try and convince Kyu to change his mind with his pleas. As he expected, once the friendship plea was disregarded, it would quickly turn to threats. Unseen to Shuya, Kyukaku would close his eyes and let out a short exhalation before halfway turning his body toward the Principal.
"Shuya... if you're worried about me standing in your way, then I know your intentions aren't where they should be."
The Principal had a high probability rate of getting what he wanted. Everyone would benefit from his plan (though very likely that they would also be betrayed later). It was a perfect business proposition...but Kyu didn't work that way. If he had been an opportunist like Shuya, he would have jumped right into it. Unfortunately for the Principal the School Captain had a strict set of morals that he held much more value than power. It was something that may cost him that power, as well.
"You'll have to excuse me Shuya. For now, I still have a class to attend to here." Kyukaku replied, turning his back to Shuya once more and beginning to walk towards the door.
"Let me know when those papers are finished."
