Info from NASA about the Perseids~♪Time: August 11-12; starting 9 PM-ish I watch these meteor showers every year~ My friends and I try to count how many wishes we can get in an evening or two, whether they're watching with me or on the other side of the states. For some reason, people on the west coast usually get the best views, but that's just me--Maybe my east coast friends don't know what shooting stars look like. If you have a BF or GF, arrange something for this Sunday night~ Since I basically live in the middle of nowhere, light pollution is minimal on my isolated hill in my city. If you live in the city, try to find a nice hill or just drive somewhere secluded. If you're near a desert... I ENVY YOU. YOU'LL SEE BAJILLIONS OF 'EM OUT IN THE DESERT. The best ones are often the burning, long tailed ones that glow green, yellow, and purple~ The longest one I saw was when I was really young--It smacked through the atmosphere, flew from one end of the horizon, directly overhead, and soared to the other end before burning out! Most of them are going to be fast and short though. But once you see one, you'll know it's a meteor.
