Wait, take a breath, sit down and compose yourself.
Yes, a new sub-board has been born. Clearly the OOC has been copulating with itself in the quiet times.
Of course, it's the quiet times that brought this about. I've noticed a massive lull in activity on the board, most specifically over the weekends, and whilst I wholeheartedly endorse public social lives for all, it's starting to have a detrimental effect on the board as a whole.
New members that come are all too often a little caught asunder by the community here, and I've seen several in a position where they're stuck trying to get themselves into a thread or to get their own threads kicked off. It's high time that something was done about it, so hopefully this is a good place to start.
If your thread isn't garnering attention or posts, make a thread and link to it, even give a brief summary to it if you like. Sell yourself and make it clear that you WANT people to write with you, be it newcomers, old veterans or whoever.
Katsumoto has volunteered himself as the unofficial moderator of this section, and as such will be tasked with checking up on these threads periodically to see how they're going. If one has begun a smooth flow of posts, its 'ad' will be locked and/or deleted. There will be no clutter here, so I'll lay down a few simple rules nice and quick-like.
1. No posting up your 'closed' threads. If you don't want people to RP in them, then just leave them as they are.
2. Do NOT post a thread up and specify you want female (or, indeed, male) company if you intend on being a sleaze. If you want to get your character a girlfriend, work the old-fashioned way like the rest of us did.
3. NO repeat posting of the same thread.
3a. The same thread may be posted again ONLY if, after someone has joined, they have inexplicably vanished early on and left you in a lurch. This is a rare thing to be allowed, so PM Katsumoto for permission on it.
More will be added as needed, or as suggested. I'm not really doing more than getting a quick set-up for this just now, so use this thread for any further suggestions.
