[[Open to anybody.]]
Rick stood on the far end of the Hircine High parking lot looking over at the school. He’d been walking up and down the black pavement looking on towards the school debating whether he should or shouldn’t approach it. At the moment he found himself leaning against some fancy red car looking on, pacing had gotten old. As he looked on at the few students who were about he thought about his reasons for even coming to this place.
The truth was that he hated and detested Paragon, which was the primary reason. Although he’d long accepted by now that there was no chance that his being placed in one of the most violent schools he’d ever attended being changed. No he was stuck with it and now he had to deal with it as best he could. That meant he had to make friends and as he’d learned already there weren’t that many people he could trust over in Paragon.
So inevitably Rick found himself at the gates of Hircine, his desired school. The place that he’d planned on attending after telling his parents that he wished to stay in America. That had been a brilliant idea. So Rick now waited, paced, and watched hopefully not drawing attention to himself. He was trying to muster up the courage to walk into the school and start looking for someone whom maybe could help him. The only thing deterring him was the idea that if someone found out that he was a student from Paragon. That would be worse than any kind of beat down he’d have to endure at his school.
Rick cracked his knuckles impatiently and paced between the fancy red car and some mini van. “What should I do, damn?” Rick popped a fist into the hood of the nice red car leaving a nice dent in it. “Ops.” Rick looked around but could not visibly see anyone standing around. He gulped then sighed and then went back to resting against the car. Hopefully who ever owned it wouldn’t be coming out any time soon.
“Hey you!” The voice echoed out from somewhere to Ricks right. He flinched and froze praying that who ever it was wasn’t talking to him. “You, over by the car.” Rick flinched again but this time looked over to the one who was yelling at him. It was some real thin kid, a Hircine student Rick supposed, and his friend.
Rick pulled down the black and blue hat he was wearing to try and hide some of his face. “Can I help you?” The thing kid whispered something to his friend and he nodded before taking off. ‘Crap’ Rick pulled himself off the car and started walking toward the kid keeping his head low.
“Y-you stay back now you here. My friend Johnny went to go get somebody tough to come beat you up you Paragon piece of trash.” Rick stopped dumbfounded, how had the kid known he was from Paragon?
“What gave you the idea I was from Paragon kid?” Rick asked
The kid who was half shaking in fear and pretend anger pointed to the top of Ricks head. Confused Rick reached up and patted his hat, nothing strange there so what was he pointing at. Then it struck him, he pulled off his hat and looked at the familiar black and blue colors. This was a Paragon team hat that they had been giving away, he’d forgotten. Rick threw the hat on the ground then violently ran a hand through his dark hair. Why the hell would he forget something like that when coming to this school? Being so frustrated he turned and delivered a swift kick to the front headlight of the fancy red car, it shattered instantly.
“Hey you stop that.” Rick heard the thin kid yell. He turned just in time to see the guy running at him. The thing kid reached him in a matter of seconds and had pulled back a clenched fist ready to strike him. Rick acted reflexively dodging the poorly thrown punch and grabbing onto the kids arm and torso flipping him hard onto the hood of the red vehicle. The thin kid’s body banged hard against the hood before he slid down and rolled to the asphalt. He showed no signs of movement and Rick felt guilty not meaning to slam him as hard as he had.
It was then that the first vestiges of other voices began to reach Ricks ears. He spun around and could see a few students begin to make there way out to the parking lot. “Oh crap, that’s my cue to leave.” Rick said and he started in the opposite direction. However he was stopped cold in his tracks he looked down and saw the thin kid, who now sported a bloody nose, holding tightly onto his leg. He tried to pull free but the little bastard held firm.
Rick looked up then back down, what was he going to do now. "Guess I'll just have to face it as it comes." Rick said before planting a foot into the thin kids face.
