A new city, a new school, and new environment added up to new beginnings. Starting off with a fresh, and clean slate that she could freely draw upon. It was a sunny city, and the warm breeze could only fit her exuberant persona, however, with the scars that were left on her emotionally, it took her energy down a notch. She knew nothing about Hircine, yet she took it was much like Mugen, except with two schools instead of a whole collective with their own majors. Oblivious to the violence in the school, and possible tensions that arises between the Paragons, Varronites, and Hircians.
Already having experienced the first day at school, Reira figured the classes were not at a level that it was difficult to catch up with. The courses had the same curriculum, but the topics were just switched up so Reira had to get to the topic her classes are at.
Her favorite area back at Mugen was the courtyard where all the students from the arts, military, international and public school interacted. A middle ground.
However, it was much different here at Hircine, but Reira had no complaints. People were scattered in the area and Reira found herself a spot in a grassy plot of empty land. She slung her messenger back off her shoulder and rested it beside her on the grass before she sat on it.
Raven black hair was tied up in a high ponytail with a red ribbon. On the ribbon was the word 'Nin' and a crescent moon shaped design. For today, Reira wore a loose off shoulder teal coloured top with a black wifebeater tank inside along with a pair of jeans and white sneakers. Emerald eyes scanned the area as she looked left and right before a small smile graced her features.
'It's just the first day I had back at Mugen,' she thought happily.
Once again the same resolve rested in the midst of her mind.
"Make new friends!" she said her right hand curling into a fist before thrusting a little encouraging punch in the air.

It was just another mundane day.
Nobu had performed his usual routines. Wake up before sunrise, light some incense, and meditate; eat whatever is laying around the gym for breakfast and do a few light striking drills on the heavy bag before getting ready for school. The early morning air was crisp and cool, and since the gym Nobu lived at was some distance away from Hircine High, he had to venture out into that brisk morning environment in order to get there, he dressed appropriately. A thick black sweatshirt hugged his frame flatteringly and a pair of maroon cotton trousers rested comfortably on his waist as he left the front door of the gym which exited into an alley.
For the normal student, it would take about an hour to get from the gym to Hircine High. However, Nobu was no normal student. He didn't just jog, but he sprinted to school. Sprinting until he got tired, then jogging until he regained some energy then sprinting again, Nobu reached Hircine High within half an hour, the fresh, oxygenated blood coursing through his veins making him feel great. Something, however, caught his attention as he made his way toward school. Some distance before Hircine High there was what looked like a brand-new, even larger high school that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, seeing as Nobu never noticed it before. He paid it no mind, and simply wrote it off as a measure to decrease congestion within the halls of Hircine High.
Now in the courtyard of Hircine High, Nobu wasn't sprinting, but lightly jogging toward the main building in order to hit the showers and change his shirt. That is, until something rather curious happened. As he passed by a particular grassy clearing next to the cobblestone path of the courtyard, a girl shouted out something along the lines of making friends, which caused the Japanese student to turn his head and look in the voice's direction. There, sitting in the clearing, was an Asian-looking student who threw her fist in the air rather exaggeratedly (and comically), looking enthusiastic about making new friends.
Nobu chuckled mentally at this, but with his eyes fixed on the new girl, which he assumed so since he had never seen her around in the year and a half he'd attended Hircine, he wasn't paying attention to what was in front of him, and managed to get his feet tangled in something. Falling forward, he nearly faceplanted in the cold, hard ground, but his hands managed to take some of the momentum and cushion the impact on his forehead. Picking his face off of the cobbletone path, he rose up onto his knees, bringing his tattooed left arm up to touch the cut near the centre of his forehead, just next to his left eyebrow.
The hand came back sticky and red, but the cut was nothing serious. It wasn't gushing blood or anything, but it was enough to take his attention off of the girl sitting directly to his side, a few feet away. He simply knelt there in silence, watching blood drip every few seconds from his head and onto the path of the courtyard, wondering if it was going to coagulate by itself or if he should head to the infirmary before class.

Dirk had been shadowing the girl as soon as she made her way into the school. He wasn't sure what he intended to do with her, but that was half the excitement. His mind couldn't decide between pain or conflict. Did he want to scare her and scar her, did he merely want to use her? So many choices, so little purpose.
He barely contained his laughter when the overly optimistic girl struck her post as declared that she would make new friends, and he simply wasn't able to when he witness the Asian male damn near fall flat on his face. Dirk would take afew steps towards the girl in those moments, still laughing softly. His swift gait would send the thin viel of hair flying exposing the decorative and disturbing scars on the sides of his head.
"You know, I think See you next fall over there fancies your looks."
Dirk would take his own time to look the female over, his eyes stopping for a few moments on the lower half of the body before raising back up to her eye level an usually crooked grin crawling onto his face. He would lick his lips a moment before he began speaking again.
"And who's to say he's the only one?"
Dirk would take a small step forward then, a very small step. Just enough to show his interest and perhaps his intent. Things were growing interesting, and he couldn't help but wonder what look the girl would get on her face if her optimism would suddenly swing to pessimism and give her a glimpse of the burned boy's thoughts..

What happened swiftly after caught Reira slightly off guard. After the wind carried her resolve in the air, along with her sharp punch in celebration, she heard feet shuffling from behind. However, the shuffling stopped soon after, and her emerald eyes caught sight of a boy fallen face first on the ground. The blood stole her attention and whisked her optimistic thoughts away.
He clutched his injury that resided on his head, and he seemed to look at the blood on his hand, as if contemplating on what to do.
Have no fear, Reira is here!
Although she had no medical expertise, she carried around supplies and what not, just in case! Back in Mugen, she encountered quite a few injuries, so she was usually prepared to wrap herself up if the situation deemed it so.
Grabbing her messenger back, she closed the few feet between them until she was by the boy's side and knelt down to his level. Her concerned expression matched another boy that seemed to be around her age that approached them. The wind danced in his hair for a mere seconds, but just enough for Reira to see the scars on his face. Curiousity swept through her, and ran in her blood, but it was no time to waste time. There's an injury at hand!
"You know, I think See you next fall over there fancies your looks."
"E-eh?" Reira stuttered her emerald eyes widening innocently her mouth slightly opened in mere shock at his statement. Glancing back at the injured boy, an embarassed expression made its way across her face as she stood up to face the new comer.
"And who's to say he's the only one?"
Gray-green eyes met vibrant emerald orbs as she looked at him with a small blush of embarassment. He stepped closer, and she could only feel uncomfortable under his gaze. Something about the way he talks and moves in his environment threw her off a little, and it made her squirm.
"How f-flattering, but now's no the time for idle chatter, he hurt hmiself, " she replied in her shy and gently tone with a small innocent smile, as she dug in her messenger bag to get a large flexible band aid large enough for the injury.
Turned to face the boy kneeling on the ground, she offered him the band aid with a smile.
"Here, you could use this for now, but I think you should wash the wound or get it checked out at the infirmary,"
Yet, Reira still felt a little squirmish to be around the guy that was still standing. Why did he make her feel aggravated? She didn't quite understand the boy's intentions, or what he was trying to pull with his statements, but she had nothing against him.

Nobu turned his head toward the girl who he had momentarily forgotten about as she approached him and knelt down next to him. Looks could be deceiving, but he did not feel ill intent from this rather harmless looking young girl. Another set of footsteps could be heard approaching the pair of Asians, and Nobu's gaze lifted from the girl to the new arrival, who made a comment about the Japanese youth's little trip. The raven-haired girl responded in a way that Nobu often responded to things that caught him off guard, by stuttering out "E-eh?" and looking like she was taken aback by the comment. Glancing at the girl to look at her expression as she looked at him, Nobu quickly averted his eyes to look at her mouth almost instinctually. Locking eyes with another made him feel tense, and he really hated it when people took note of his heterochromia.
The emerald-eyed girl did what Nobu was thinking, and he promptly followed suit and rose from his kneeling position on the ground, turning to face the taller student. The aura of innocence he felt around the new girl was definitely not the case with mohawk over there. Even before mohawk spoke, the expression on his face and the gestures he made gave Nobu a general feeling of unease. He wouldn't show it, though; no matter what Nobu was feeling, on the outside he always appeared calm and collected. The scars on his face were rather grotesque, but they didn't disturb the pseudo-samurai.
Shyly accepting the compliment from the seemingly malicious individual, the raven-haired girl turned back to face him, her hand rummaging through her bag to retrieve a small adhesive bandage, which she handed to the Japanese student. He gratefully accepted it and bowed his head slightly in a thankful gesture. "Thanks," he said almost timidly, "um..?" obviously, he didn't know her name since he had just met her this very moment, so he was curious as to what it was. She had been the first one to show any interest in the Japanese fighter in his one and a half years of attending Hircine High. If the girl shared her name, Nobu would reciprocate and introduce himself as well. "I'm Nobuo, but most people just call me Nobu. Pleasure to meet you." he said, rather formally.
Nobu pressed the sleeve of his sweat shirt against the small wound on his forehead to clean the blood up and slow its flow so he could apply the bandage with minimal trouble. After he finished up with that, he gave the shorter student a small smile. "I was about to do that. If you're not busy, would you like to accompany me to the infirmary?" If she agreed, Nobu would begin walking, make sure to stay at an even pace with the girl. Mohawk was still there, and because of the feeling he gave the Japanese youth earlier, he remained wary as he turned his back to him.

((ooc note: Dirk doesn't have a mohawk, just the shaved sides of the head with a thin strip of hair similar to one, though he wears his hair down))
The burned boy was amused at the reddening of cheeks and shy behavior he attained from the girl. It was amusing, but little more and that was abit of a downer. No cues, nothing pushed to the surface from it.
Not enough conflict.
"Such a small pain for such an action. I do hope you're stronger than you let on, leaf. Otherwise you'll end up like all the other little leaves in the action you just represented."
Dirk grinned, wondering if they would catch the connection between Nobu's fall and the new nickname of leaf. The man was certainly looking more and more akin to a brittle fallen leaf, something so easy to crush, by the moment.
The male would announce his name and then turn his back to the Genaht fragment leader. The temptation was too great then. He was purposely trying to shut Dirk out and he wasn't even kind enough to let Dirk share his name. Well, it seemed now would be a good as time as ever.
Dirk would take a step back from the man, before dashing forward again. His body twisting to let his right arm lash out. It's design was a forearm strike to the back of the Asian man's neck. Bone would likely clack against bone through their skin and the pain would certainly be there. But most of all, Dirk wanted to stun the other man, and such a thing was certainly possible.
Should the man receive the strike and fall fowards, Dirk would smile down to him and speak.
"And my name is Dirk, thank you sooo much for asking."

[Oops. A friend of mine used to have his head shaved like that, and we used to call it a mohawk anyway because it essentially was, just not held up with any products.]
A voice rose from the boy who stood a few feet away, and Nobu turned his head to look at him as he spoke. A slight look of perplexion crossed the Japanese student's face when the other student finished speaking, wondering just what the hell he meant. Despite the fact that the Hagakure held several deep teachings and morals, Nobu was an otherwise direct person, and metaphors such as the one this boy had spouted were lost on him. He kind of connected 'leaf' with his 'fall', but that was more like a crappy pun than a metaphor with a message behind it.
As Nobu began walking away, remaining aware of the other student, the sudden shuffling of shoes against the cobblestone path caught his attention. His grandfather taught him that a samurai must always be aware of his surroundings, because there is no knowing when an assassin may strike you down. He also taught him to anticipate attacks from behind, since almost one-hundred percent of surprise attacks come from the rear.
The Japanese fighter quickly spun one-hundred and eighty degrees on his heel to face his incoming assailant, who was already pretty much on top of him. Without enough time to bring his arms up to guard, Nobu simply swayed his upper body back to avoid the brunt of the student's forearm. However, he hadn't reacted quickly enough to completely avoid the blow, and he caught the side of his fist to his chin, sending Nobu's already off-balance body to the ground.
Quickly picking himself off the ground as the student introduced himself as Dirk, Nobu tapped the side of his temple with his right fist, getting into stance. He stood with his chest square to his opponent, his fists hovering next to their respective jawbone, and his legs shoulder-width apart with his right leg acting as the lead. That's all that message was. A means to provoke me into fighting him. "So, that's all you wanted..." Nobu said, before he began speaking with his fists. Pushing off of his rear leg, he closed what little distance was between the two students before sending out a short right straight toward Dirk's face.
