(ooc - Being that It ends at Hircine Ill post it at Hircine)
Clothes seemed to be strewn about. Flying shoes, shirts, random clothing across the dark room. Frustration seemed to growl from the corner as Victoria could not find her jacket. Her hand brushed a few strands of hair behind her ear. Barely making a difference for the short chop she was sporting. Looking around feverishly she stomped back and forth going through ever thing she owned.
“Where is my Jacket. Jeeze Im going to be late. I can’t be late. Not for the interview. Damn It! Where the hell is it!”
Turning towards a pair of feet coming down the stairs. Sally stood half way down the stairs holding a black dress jacket in her hands.
“Quit your fussing doll or your going to be late.”
Victoria jumping at the site of what she was looking for and pretty much ran towards the stairs and thankfully took it from her. Shoving her arms into the sleeves she tried to remember where she put it at. Sally seemed to notice her confusion and spoke up with a smile.
“I thought I told you last night I was going to iron it for you. It had a few wrinkles in it and I wanted it to be perfect for your interview.”
Victoria couldn’t help but hug the older woman. In the past months she had felt that Sally could have been her own mother. The way she would fuss over her would be just like a parent. There was even a time where Sally herself admitted she was quite motherly lately. She couldn’t help herself when her own kids were gone away with their own lives.
“Thank you Sally. Is Bob ready with the car? Do I look okay?”
Victoria did a 360 turn with her arms held out as she looked down at her own wardrobe. Sally could help but give out a giggle at the sight. “Why dear girl you look nervous. Just you calm down or you’ll faint before you make it up the stairs.”
Victoria grinned. She was nervous. Jackson has told her they had an opening position for the school. And thankfully it was not for the janitorial staff. Pressing her hands down her pencil skirt she took in a deep breath, let it out slowly calming herself down and then held out her arms as if Sally was to inspect her.
“How about now?”
Sally looked her up and down as if too see if she was ready and nodded.
“That’s a lot better. Now don’t be running anywhere you hair is as wild as it is and it was hard enough to get it to stay down and don’t flush your face. You don’t want to seem all red and blotchy. Okay. Lets go.”
Sally led her upstairs and towards the door where Bob awaited in their old sedan. Turning to her making her stop before going out.
“Wait a minute. I almost forgot.”
Sally reach into the pocket of her waitress outfit and pulled out a necklace. It was dainty. A small pearl charm that shimmered between pink and purple in the light. Victoria almost immediately hesitated. “Sally I..”
“Now don’t you worry. Think of this as a good luck charm. A few of the regulars and well me and Bob got this for you for good luck.”
As Sally put it around her neck Victoria couldn’t help but finger the small pearl. Even though Victoria had never received such a gift before, she had never felt so connected with these people than anyone other than the misfits. She could feel her eyes start to burn from the tears that wanted to come forth but she looked up at the ceiling and smiled as Sally planted a peck on her cheek.
Thanking her for the gift she was ushered out of the door and into the car. Victoria beamed as she clenched and unclenched her fists over and over. She couldn’t help but grow more nervous as they got closer and closer to the school. She would fiddle with the radio until Bob would put his hand on hers and tell her that everything was going to be okay.
Picking up a black folder. Victoria opened it. Within the folder was her resume, her references, which weren’t very many, and her goals. It took her a while to type everything out. She wasn’t as computer literate a she wanted to be. But she was able to type and spell check everything. She had the basics under control. If there was something she was unable to figure out she had Jackson on speed dial just in case.
Reading over each paper, deciding she did the best and as truthfully as she could she closed the folder. Looking around outside of the vehicle she watched as trees and street signs pasted her by until they slowed and the car came to a stop. She took another deep breath and let it out slowly. They were there. The school sat at her right and all she had to do was go inside and hopefully survive the interview. She wasn’t as confident as she would have liked to be but wasn’t anyone who had to go in front of a complete stranger and let them judge you like meat.
Stepping out of the car Victoria thanked Bob for the ride and told him she would call if she needed picked up. Making her way up to the school building she looked at the Hircine Highschool sign. It was not Varron. No, nothing will ever be like Varron but she was determined to make things better for the students. Victoria wasn’t sure just how she would be able to do it but at least this would be her foot in the door.
Looking one last time at her reflection in the glass pane door she raised her head high. Opened the door and strode in as if she owned the place. She was determined to get a job in the school and when she was determined there was nothing she wouldn’t be able to do.
“Ready or not Hircine High, Here I come.”
~~~~~ Later ~~~~~
Shaking the hand of the gentleman in front of her Victoria was all smiles. Her nervousness eased and she was glowing of confidence. She had a great interview with the small group of people she had met with. Her past experience with Varron had guaranteed her a spot on the staff and she was glad that she had won them over.
“I have great expectations of you Miss Alexander.”
“I have no doubt that I will have your conscience at ease. You have my word on that.”
She smiled again as she was escorted out of the room. The interview lasted more than an hour. They had talked extensively about what they believed was best for the school. Things that she had heard before. She took in the information, processed it as if it were all new to her. To show how eager she was to please the company she kept in the room. Their conversation ran from the previous employees to the students, even to the sports and pride of the school. No doubt the group of people were themselves Hircine High elites.
Having her folder in hand. She smiled one last time before being instructed to return the next morning for assignment and to be shown around to her duties. She would have to be acquainted in her job and being as in disarray as the school was, she would have to start immediately.
