Damien lifted his head, letting the breeze catch his hair and face. It was a warm afternoon, and the unforgiving sun had been beating down on the back of helpless citizens since it rose. The ligh breeze was cool, and refreshing. He looked around the crowded streets, searching for some place that looked like fun. Seeing a small arcade across the street, Damien made his way over, jingling his pockets to see if he had any cahnge. He had a little bit, but not as much as he wanted, so he knew he would have to spend more cash. Oh well. Why have money if your not gunna spend it? Thats when it hit him. Damien stopped in his tracks, one foot on the side-walk and one foot still in the street. his body frozen where it was. Was it near-by? If so, where? His head snapped this way and that, hunting for the place he knew held what he desired. He walked down the street, nose in the air, smelling his way towards his destination. He rounded a corner, and continued across another street, stopping once the scent grew to much to bear. He looked up, and read the sign. "Harry's Hotdogs". Damien grinned. What a perfect day for something as delicious as a hotdog. Some people would wonder, and think he was strange, for having such a wide sense of smell, but Damien loved it. Following his nose almost always led him to something edible, and if it was edible than Damien was sure to eat it. He had a very refined palate, but didnt mind eating those things that the average citizen enjoyed. He grew up eating only the best, bu there were times when he would sneak out, buy himself a pizza or a cheeseburger, and drown his taste-buds in a mind-boggling Tastegasm. Damien stepped to the counter, reaching into his wallet to pull out some money. He opened it wider, peering inside, and noticed he only had two dollars. Now, while this normally wouldnt be a problem since he had his bank card, the bank was several blocks away, and this place didnt accept cards. He could walk, but he knew he would die of starvation before he ever arrived. The feeling of defeat and depression sinking in, Damien took a seat at one of the many outside table they had at the shop, and put his chin in his ahnds, staring longingly at the entrance to paradise. Ryou walked down the street, his hands in his pockets, the light breeze blowing his front hair back, revealing his dark piercing eyes. He passed by the people walking on the street, trying their best to get away from the heat, to no avail. As much as they wished they could get away from the sun, no matter where they turned, the sun was always there, beating down on them relentlessly. He turned the corner, and heard a rumble.
" My stomach." he said, stopping and staring down at his belly. Time to eat, but what? A whiff of something delicious caught his sense of smell, and he followed it, walking on the sidewalk, passing by a guy who was staring longingly at..." A hotdog place. Well, why not." he said, walking to the entrance and going in.
He stepped up to the counter, and caught the sight of the guy in a mirror nearby. He sighed, shaking his head, and made his order. Pulling out his wallet, he handed over the money, placed his wallet back in his pocket, and took his food. He walked out of the place, and headed to the guy, stopping in front of him. " Hey." he said, placing the hotdog down in front of the guy. " You look like you're about to faint, so take it." he offered, and taking a bite of his own hotdog, his stomach stopped rumbling, happy to finally have some food .
The guy at the counter had come out, holding drinks in his hand. The look on his face was one of relief, happy that Ryou hadn't left already. Ryou guessed he forgot to take them, as the guy handed them to him, and walked off. Ryou took a chair and sat down" So," he said, after chewing and swallowing, " What's your name?"

Damien sighed, closing his eyes against the smell that was taunting him. He just wanted a hotdog...maybe, MYABE if he wished hard enough one would just appear. 'Please...please, all i want is one hotdog, nothing more!' He slowly opened one eyes, and was shocked to see one sitting right in front of him. Had it actually worked? He heard the voice, then looked up to see the guy standing front of him telling to eat. He gave the guy a grin, took a huge bite from the hotdog, then said with his mouth full "You, sir, have just become my new best friend"
He chewed slowly, enjoying every second of the taste. He could feel his taste buds squirming with delight, and after he swallowed he took another bite. After that one went down, he looked up to the fellow who handed him a hotdog. "The names Damien. Damien Blaze." He took another bite, his mind thinking back to the tournament he had just recently lost. It was the first round, and he had lost to a fighting legend. Damien felt happy with his performance though, and had left without any real damage done. People who looked and remembered such things would know his name, and suprisingly enough, nobody made fun of him for losing. He knew why, since EVERYONE lost to Pain Killer, but it was still refreshing to know that he wasnt alone in his defeat.
"And you would be?" Damien took another bite of his food, looking thoughtfully to the fellow in front of him.

" Ryou Jackson." Ryou replied to Damien's question, as he took a sip from his drink. " Don't mention it." he said, referring to him buying the hotdog and drink for Damien. He took another bite from his hotdog and thought carefuly before asking his question. " So, what you doing after this? Got any plans?" Ryou himself didn't have any plans, he just decided to wander around before heading home. If Damien had anything planned, well, he certainly wouldn't get in his way, but if he was free, Ryou had noticed a movie theatre nearby, and decided to catch a movie. What movie, well, he'd figure it out when he got there.
He finished off his hotdog and took a long sip from his drink. " If you're not busy, I'm going to watch a movie." he said, as he pushed the chair out and stood up, tossing the empty drink into a trash can nearby. " You can come if you want, or if you have plans, you don't have to come." Truth was, Ryou didn't care either way. If Damien came, well, he'd have someone with him. If not, he'd go on alone. He pushed the chair back into the table and made his way up the street, back towards the theatre. If Damien came or not, that was his choice, and his alone.
Ryou passed by people standing in the shade of the buildings, as the sun glared down, casting shadows everywhere. Everywhere he went, people were hogging the shade, trying their best to get away from the intensity of the sun. His hands in his pockets, he had worn a short sleeved hoodie, long shorts, and runners. Pretty much what he decided to wear when he saw sunlight shining this morning. He crossed the street just as the light turned green, red light for the cars that could run him over. He reached the other side of the intersection, and pulled open the door to the mall.
Ah, air-conditioning. While he would've liked to have a natural cool breeze, inside a mall, well, you don't have that option. He walked to the escalator and made his way up to the third level, where the movie theatre was located. As soon as he reached the third level, a small line up had already formed for tickets to the movies. " Well, not as big a crowd as I imagined." he thought, getting into line. Or so he thought. As soon as he lined up, a huge crowd had appeared behind him, well, looked like he had beaten the crowd. The line moved slowly, and as Ryou moved forward, he heard a voice call out to him.
