The simple answer would be yes. Yes it is.
The longer answer would be not exactly. You may have noticed the new Paragon Institute section now sharing the borders of Hircine High. If you didn't notice, well, I'm sad you're blind, but impressed you can even use a computer while being blind! What is Paragon Institute all about, you ask? Well, gather around and I shall tell you a tale.
Officially, Paragon Institute has been constructed due to the overcrowding of Hircine High, creating a second school within the same district.
Unofficially, Paragon Institute is a place where violent and psychotic tendencies in students are not only allowed, but encouraged.
There will be an IC thread soon explaining this in more detail, but until then here is what should be known. Paragon Institute's school colors are black and blue, and the mascot is the Panthers. With the creation of the new school, it means Hircine High and Paragon are rivals in every sense, including sports events and simple teenage angst.
With a new school, this means that there will students needed to fill it. Because of this, we are implementing a die roll to the member list, which means any one of us can be transfered over to Paragon. Along with this, new members will be able to choose which school to attend. Now I know what some of you are thinking, "Tyler is really awesome." And I know, but try and stay on topic, guys. Some other people may be thinking this forced transfer would be inconvenient, and interrupt in whatever current storyline they may or may not have at the moment.
My reply to this is "Good." The transfer is supposed to disrupt the students, and things are supposed to be inconvenient. Things are about to change for Hircine High, and ready or not the students are going to have to change with it.
Questions, Comments, AND Compliments can be replied here.

Uh oh...
This will be interesting, but in all honesty, with the dropoff in activity we've been having, is this practical?

Because of this, we are implementing a die roll to the member list, which means any one of us can be transfered over to Paragon. A die roll? Yes. Online die roll. What? You thought I'd actually roll a normal die? But, to explain...I've taken a roll-list of forty die (it lists the roll results), and the member list. From the first name, I count down the same number as the first die roll. That person is a transfer. From there, I take the SECOND die roll, and count that many names down. THAT person is a transfer. So on, so forth, ad infinitum. I have the entire transfer list in front of me, but as noted, voluntary transferring is welcome as well. Those of you on the list, well, you get to go to Paragon. It's been done at random, and that's pretty much it. I'll post the list up later on for you guys to see.

Uh oh... This will be interesting, but in all honesty, with the dropoff in activity we've been having, is this practical? If you're asking if it will decrease interaction, then no, it shouldn't. The students from the two schools are supposed to interact be it turf-style battles, sports events (which could go too far...) or anything else you can come up with. This shouldn't look as a decrease of interaction, but opportunities to come up with MORE reasons to interact. And Damien, read the post above yours for the answer to your question.

I'm not saying decreased interaction. I think this is actually a really good idea, I just mean that the board has been moving kinda slowly of late, and that that might negatively affect such a major shift in board doctrine.
But I'm actually looking forward to all of this. Great column material...
(Oh shit! I should post my first column)

I have to say this is an interesting idea. Now this'll make for an interesting newspaper article.

I think its time to create a new character for the boards. Felix just went beyond his high school years.

Question: Do the transfers start their year at the new school, or get transferred in mid-semester? I personally haven't been as active story-wise lately because I don't know if we're in summer, or the beginning of next school year.

Nothing where you're in too deep, but its not exactly a fresh start either.

Also, i read what was above me before, i was just a little confused about wether you were choosing from a list of fourty as said, or if you were choosing from all the hircinites, and there would be about fourty transfers. thats what i meant

Will this new school have some sort of pillar system too?
|
|
|
Post by watcher1 on Apr 30, 2008 23:59:07 GMT 1
Yes, it will have both a pillar system and a Principal. The pillar system has not yet been established, and will be so by the way it was meant to be. Beat it out of eachother.
As for the Transfers, you're still welcome to volunteer, but no need to worry about the details of the list of those who have been chosen, as its already complete. You'll know if you're one soon enough.

Question: Can old members who want to have their character go to P.I. make a new character rather then transfer a possible pre-existing second character over? Obivously stipulations would be drawn up, but regardless, would it be deemed acceptable with approval?
