Hah, had you all going for a minute there, didn't I? No, this will not be a casual 'joke' thread of any variety, in fact it'll be something quite the opposite. After discussions with Dain regarding the Fighters League and the fact that whilst it works in basic theory is beginning to falter as original signups choose to opt out, we have decided that in order to ensure all members regardless of time spent on Hircine (yes, that's you newbies to the board) get a chance to punch some faces... We'll be holding a new tournament!!! Yes, boys and girls, just like the good ol' days, we'll be returning to the fabled and original method of organised bloodshed. Rules are as they always have been, but with a few simple changes. - Sixteen participants, breaks down to a nice, even final.
- First and second rounds will be one week in duration, semis will be one week with POTENTIAL for two, and finals will be two weeks. There will be no exceptions to this.*
- Fights will be judged between the staff, of which (preferably) all shall vote. If some are unavailable to do so, an interim judge will be called in to do the honours on their behalf.
- Signing up means you are intent on participating, and if you're chosen to compete, you MUST post to your fight. Failure to do so will result in serious reprimands and other general mockery of you.**
- Spectating is permitted, but the fights are non-interference and hand-to-hand only. Potential for 'specialised' matches is possible, but not set in stone as of yet.
*PM'ing me with a reason, and it had BETTER be a good one, will get your plight considered. Think carefully about this, though,**In all seriousness? If you can't post, just say so well beforehand so we can adjust things accordingly to account for your no-show. If we know, we can work around it.So, who would like the opportunity to swing them fists? Don't be shy!!

I'd quite like to punch a face or two. In fact, I downright demand the luxury of doing so!!
Let me fight, bitch.
EDIT:
Yes, I'm aware of the irony in asking MYSELF to let me fight.

I'd personally love to give it a go, but if my bio isn't up by the time you guys start the tournament you can just X me out of the listings. I'll try to get it up as soon as possible. I haven't been in a tournament for a LONG time so it would be interesting to see where I would stand against the rest of this community.

I would love to join in on the fighting for once. Tired of just being the judge. Although, I'm at driver's ed so I'll only be able to post from 2:45 pm to 5:30 PM and 9:45 PM to 12:00 Am

I don't think Spider is developed well enough to fight yet, but would it be kosher for him to observe? It would make excellent material for a column...

Better throw Nobu in there. It'd just be against his nature not to participate!

Personally, I would love to participate... However, seeing my general lack of posting on the main board, I had best not. No good to treat yourself when you haven't been working for it. Good luck to the participants, though. ^^

Should remind all the newbies that they can't just do 3-4 posts and go "Phooey this isn't fun." and give up. It's a dedicated event.

Should remind all the newbies that they can't just do 3-4 posts and go "Phooey this isn't fun." and give up. It's a dedicated event. A -VERY- valid point, and consider this an addendum to the rule above about posting... An average tournament match would ideally cover fifteen to twenty posts, or more accurately the equivalent of a reply a night. Now, as I've stated before, if you've got a reason NOT to post, for example you got caught up with something unforseen, then fine, but don't leave your opponent hanging more than 24 hours or you WILL be disqualified and WILL face enormous wrath from me. The key to the tournament is quality and style of writing. Whilst clear winners CAN be decided during the thread, that's not too common and the fights are often judged based on the outside view of the judges. Just because you think you're winning, in other words, doesn't mean you are. Now, to wrap up my mini-lecture here, I'll end on this. I'm glad to see such enthusiasm for this, but bear in mind that people can still request entry for the tournament. I'm not working on a first-come, first-serve basis, so I might opt in someone who wasn't the fastest to post here. Just keep that in mind. As it stands, eleven people have made clear interest shown, with three swaying on the notion. Sixteen, folks, let's see some hands.

>.< My posting has its fluctuations(spelled that wrong) but I'm interested.
And yes, My league matches have been nothing but unsatisfactory, so I would be more on the side to jump in if someone can't post altogether. I lurk the board like crazy, posting is another thing altogether. >.<
Uh, so yea, count me in, chief.
