As of right now, the Fighter's League is on an indefinite Hiatus. As I speak, Liam's working on putting together a regular good ol' tournament that anyone can join in the meantime.
What I wanna know is this: Should we bother starting the League back up afterwards?
With every week I've experienced more and more dropouts, no-posters, and the like. I started with 16 people. And now, NOT counting the people that dropped and got replaced, we are down to 10. TEN. And, as I said, there were actually more dropouts than that, but those were quickly replaced by the willing few.
Even notwithstanding those dropouts, there are people who, for whatever reason, get busy or have real world stuff to attend to, and cannot post much/at all for a particular fight.
And then on top of it all, and this is especially important with the surge of new members we've had lately, the Fighter's League is kinda exclusive, in that anyone who wants to join by this point probably feels like they can't, or shouldn't, or simply doesn't know about it.
So really, I dunno, guys. Liam and I talked, and we're gonna host a regular tourney, the signups for that will probably show up sometime in the near future. But right here, in this thread, tell me what you guys think. Should we finish it out? is it worth even that? Or do we really LIKE the League, and think it's as cool in Practice as it is in Theory. Lemme know.
Thanks guys and gals for the input.

Personally, I think the league should stay, but in a limited capacity. The few who compete in it do so because it's their heirarchal way of seeing who rules the roost, right? No doubt, the members who weren't around in time for it might feel a little left out, but nobody ever said they couldn't ask about joining.
Yeah, it's been fading a little, but some of the fights in the league are cool as hell to read.
Oh, and new tournament? This will be very interesting. Consider me on my way to go post my desire to compete.
*Goes to post in tournament thread thing*

*Returns from posting in thread*
Now, yeah, this might be for the best for the time being. It'll help the new folk integrate themselves into our little drama, and it gives a chance for the Fighters League to be pondered over and, potentially, missed by others.
That's my two pennies.

I agree with the Fighter's League to go on hiatus, but I really want to keep it around. It's a lot of fun to get to read and judge all those awesome fights. Plus, it gives me a few tips.
I know I'm not a moderator or anything, but I am one of the judges so I thought I should tell you my opinion.

I liked the fighting league for the... two matches that I had. :\ Only problem is that there were huge gaps between posts, and I believe that should be eliminated if the Fighter's League does in fact come back for another season. I'd be stoked.

Personally, I just think that there aren't enough people willing to make it work. I love the fighters league, but there just hasn't been commitment from enough people.
I think we should return to the regular Tournament basis, it's more fitting for people on a 'here and now' schedule.

No one likes a dropout, but I believe it should continue if thats what the active members demands...

I feel like I'm a better fighter after only 4 rounds. Fighters league is a great way for me to improve my skills while I wait for the plot of the board to progress. Did it save my sanity during Let it Bleed? Hell yes.
That being said, it wouldn't be any fun if there were only a few competitors. I guess I can understand getting rid of it, but replacing it somehow would be nice.
Also, tourneys are always good. You know that I'll show up.

i havnt had the chance to be able to compete in fighters league, but i think it would be cool to keep it around, since i also enjoyed reading the fights.
Maybe we could hold several tournaments, and the winners of those tournaments could be added to fighters leage, that way people who dont post will be eliminated. Only problem with that is, im not sure how many people would be interested in all those tournaments.
But yeah, id like to see the FL stick around!

That's just pretty much backwards of what we had going. We tried having the league, and the highest scorers would go to a tournament. Its good you're trying to think of new things, but I don't think it would make a whole lot of sense to be honest.

Well, why not make fighters league for top notch fighters? instead of just a standard tournament, you could make fighters league the place where all the best fighters go. They could be handpicked by one person, who would send people messages through PM asking if they wanted to be in fighters league, and the winner is dubbed champion for the month or 2 months or somthing. And the people who are handpicked have to have won some tournaments, or been in a lot of fights, etc etc. Just thinkin of new things to make FL more interesting or able to stick around
