Maverik’s first day finally patrolling the halls of Hircine. He had been trapped behind a desk for the better part of the week, filling out forms and doing all the paperwork the schools administration could muster to keep him occupied. Between bouts of signing and filling out forms, he had been researching the native student population of Hircine, looking for any records of rule breaking he could find. There were a few he noticed that were a little too clean… It was these students that he continually noticed the word ‘Pillar’ attached to. It was something he wanted to look into more closely.
Half the day was over, and it was lunchtime. Maverik continued to circle the front area of the school grounds. He looked about the area at the students who were passing each other in groups, Varronites banding together as the Hircinian’s did the same. The animosity and tension was thick enough to carve with a knife. “This isn’t how I wanted the students to spend the rest of their senior year…” He said in a slightly depressed tone. He had been seeing it all day. No violence had broken out anywhere near him, but the distaste between the two factions was more than glaringly obvious.
Suddenly, Maverik spotted a certain student. One who’s face he remembered vividly. Darren Blayne, one of those students attributed as a pillar. Maverik could only assume this was a term they used to describe the students who had been given power over the others, most likely sanctioned by the principal, as their records were far too clean for high school students. “So that’s Darren…” Maverik said to himself quietly. “I think I’ll go pay him a visit…” He turned from where he stood and approached the orange haired boy with the white outfit, contrasting with Maverik’s black one. “Excuse me Mr. Blayne…” He said in an audible voice in an attempt to bring his attention back from the clipboard he seemed engrossed with.
