‘That must be him…’
Shuya had started his search on the wrong side of the school grounds. He had scanned the area in front of him but hadn’t seen anyone that looked like Seth Calloway. As he turned around and faced the large group of seniors, he noticed the young man a distance behind the group, near one of the lonely trees in their fields of grass. The ceremony had only just begun so Shuya was assured that Seth would remain there for at least some more time. He noticed there was another individual with him there, though he could not make out who she or he was. Seth’s clothing and hair however were giving him away. With a slight smirk on his face, Shuya moved along behind the school to make a big circle around it, instead of just going through the crowd. He didn’t want to move through the people again and this way he would arrive behind Seth, instead of right in front of him. This would give him the advantage of calculating the situation before Seth would… Not that he feared Seth, but he just liked to be aware of his situation before jumping in one.
After several minutes of walking in a high pace, Shuya arrived at the other side of the school again where he strolled of the paved floor and into the fields. He moved along the hill on which Seth was standing, walking on the other side of it. When he noticed the tree, he walked up cautiously, without making any sound at all. As he arrived up the hill, he noticed it had been a girl he had seen with Seth. He didn’t recognize her, but he knew at least that there were no other people here… at least for as far as he could see. His voice came sudden but calm.
“It’s a pity all of them are leaving, no? There are a lot of skilled fighters amongst them… even if they fight for the wrong team, it’s still a great loss to this school.”
His eyes rested upon Seth Calloway but every now and then his eyes would move to the young girl before returning to Seth. Shuya had no idea who she was and had no intentions to discuss his matters with Seth while she was around. However, he knew that in this situation, he would just let Seth decide what he wanted. If he understood Seth, Seth would know that their matters were to be discussed privately and would probably send her away as soon as he was ready to get to business. For now however, Shuya wouldn’t care if he had to make an introduction first or whatever. The ball had been thrown, the game had begun… it was Seth’s turn now.

"Are you sure that the one you're looking for is a Senior?"
"Am I ever wrong, Tamara?"
"..."
It was easy to tell that the female was uncomfortable with this meeting, though not for her own wellbeing. Seth had gotten a lot of attention after the pep rally, and since he had insisted he didn't need anyone to back him up, was painfully exposed should things turn bad, which was partly why Tamara had followed him regardless of his wishes. Seth, however, had little care for such things, knowing full well that if the older man had intended to harm him, he would have done so back in the Principal's office.
The sudden voice from behind caused Tamara to spin on her heel with a stifled gasp of surprise, her black braided-ponytail whipping behind her like an angry dog's tail. Seth's eyes widened slightly from the sudden nature of Shuya's appearance, but by the time he pushed himself off the tree to face the man, his surprise would long since have disappeared.
"It's important to fight for what one believes in, even if it's not necessarily what's best. Only when you have complete and utter dedication to your goal, only then are you able to give it your all and accomplish it."
A slight blush made its way onto Tamara's face as Seth spoke, his descriptions had always had a significant effect on her. Pretending not to notice, Seth inclined his head towards her, pointing her out to Shuya.
"None embodies this ideal more than this particular girl. I'd like you to meet Tamara."
The female in question would make no movement to acknowledge Shuya, instead watching him intently as if daring him to make a hostile move. The leader of Revelation could see where this was going, and so, set out to prevent a possible misinterpretation. He looked towards Tamara, beckoning her over with a flick of his fingers.
"Tamara, I need you to watch and make sure no one interrupts this meeting. Can I rely on you?"
While the girl was sad at his first sentence, her mood quickly changed at the mention of Seth relying on her. Such a thought filled her with the desire to fulfill his expectations, and with a nod, Tamara walked a fair distance away, her eyes roaming for potential intruders. She was far enough away that if the two were to speak normally, she wouldn't hear anything over the sound of graduation, though obviously able to listen if either raised their voice. With everything taken care of, Seth would once again look towards Shuya, his amusement plain to see on his face.
"You'll have to forgive her, she's very... focused, on keeping everything in my best interests. Now, what can I do for you?"

Shuya looked amused at the girl in front of him as she quickly turned around and looked at him with a disturbed look on her face. As Seth replied to him, his eyes never left the girl, he even showed her a slight smile before he finally took his eyes off of her. Turning towards Seth he nodded slightly, his hands slowly slipping into his pockets.
“Oh I think you’re right about that, Calloway, but I merely pointed out my believes by stating they fight for the wrong cause in my eyes… I apologize, I’m used to looking at things from my perspective first…”
His smile reappeared, this time towards Seth and as the young man introduced him to Tamara, Shuya bowed slightly towards her, giving her another interested look.
“A pleasure to make you acquaintance, Tamara…”
Shuya usual addressing of people had to change here, since he hadn’t been given any last name, but he thought now was not the time nor the place to be asking about Seth’s female friend’s last name. Shuya’s neutral gesture towards the young girl were apparently not accepted. Even though he held his hands pocketed, she still looked at him daringly. Shuya was quite amused by this in fact. He didn’t know the relation between Seth and this girl, but it was obvious Seth ensured he had followers around him that would go through fire for him… In this case, it was obvious that this girl would probably not be able to take on Shuya, but still she was determined to fight him if that need arose.
Seth however asked the young girl to move away and stand guard on a small distance. Without hesitation, Tamara moved her eyes away from Shuya and moved a slight distance away, allowing the two men to talk to each other privately. As Seth explained Tamara’s behavior, Shuya waved his comment away with a small smile on his face, his right making the waving motion as he shook his hand.
“You don’t need to explain, Calloway… I’m glad to see you ensure you’re surrounded by people you can rely on… I reckon an individual might be best off alone if he can accomplish his goal on his own… but I’ve learned a leader needs to be able to sometimes rely on others to do… lesser work for him.”
He frowned slightly as he gave the other work a name… lesser might not have been the right word, but he didn’t really had any other way to put it right now. Besides, he doubted the man in front of him would think very different than he did anyway. Taking a step towards Seth, Shuya continued to speak. He only decreased the distance between them to make the talking easier, his movement was casual and in no way threatening to Seth… not that Shuya thought Seth would feel threatened at all right now.
“Well, it’s just as much what I can do for you as what you can do for me, Calloway.” His smile turned into a smirk as he continued. “It’s a pity I hadn’t had the time to think about my future sooner, cause if I had I would’ve certainly searched you out sooner. I didn’t really understood your motives until we finally met face to face in MacMillan’s office. However, when you made clear that you wanted to become captain of this school, it got me thinking…”
Shuya’s face turned from Seth towards the graduating students behind Seth. His eyes rested upon one individual that clearly stood out… he wasn’t exactly in the middle of the group either, he stood a slight distance away from the rest of the students. Darren Blayne, foolish as he might’ve been to have once stood between Shuya and MacMillan, was still going to be a loss to the school. Calloway however had way more potential and though Shuya didn’t know about Seth’s strength, he doubted the young student was weak. Turning his attention back to Calloway he continued.
“You know that the departure of Blayne makes this school one without a captain. Even though I know you will claim to be captain, most of the students won’t recognize you as their captain, simply because no official authority has appointed you to be captain… not yet… Hence I was wondering, how did you see yourself become captain?”
Shuya wouldn’t speak of the entire plan he brewed just yet, he wanted to know about Seth’s way of thinking… his questioning and talking was sort of a small test, including facts that would count strongly in Seth’s next year. Apart from that, Shuya always had some tricks up his sleeve in case the entire conversation wouldn’t go according to plan… but for now, he had all the faith in the young man…

The Sophomore watched silently as Shuya came closer, listening carefully. The man's question was a good one, and one that Seth hadn't bothered to ask himself before making his intentions known. It was rare for him to be caught without a plan or a backup plan, but that didn't mean he was completely hopeless; all it took was a little improvisation.
"To be honest with you, the desire to become School Captain wasn't my goal from the beginning of the year. It was more of a last-minute decision. Recognition and power aren't what I'm looking for, as I've proven myself time and time again. No, what I'm looking for is fun."
Aside from Tamara and Mae-Lim, none had ever been told of what motivates Seth. However, in what seemed to be a split-second decision, the Sophomore had decided to give the older man a small insight into his own thought process. His eyes would follow Shuya's to glance at the graduating class, though upon finding nothing worthwhile to focus on, would quickly return to the other man as he continued the conversation.
"MacMillan and the Watchers were the strongest force in the school, so toppling them seemed like the biggest challenge. Becoming School Captain would have been the icing on the cake, but it seemed the principal wasn't so keen on my idea. Admittedly, I haven't given it much thought, but I'd imagine with my positive image as the figurehead and leader of Revelation, I'd gain quite a bit of support for my own claims to the Captainship."
For a moment, Seth would pause, looking thoughtfully down the hill as he pondered how his idea would come to pass. There was plenty that could go wrong with it, things he would need to adjust for, but given enough time and effort, he could still pull it off. Unknowingly, his gaze had fallen on Tamara, who upon noticing, blushed and looked away, bringing him out of his reverie and causing Seth to smirk at the motion and turn back to Shuya.
"As I'm sure you can tell, there's flaws in that plan. But why do you ask?"

“Fun? Well… that certainly is an interesting goal to go for… especially since every individual has a different idea of fun. One would say playing video games is fun, others playing sports… and then there are those few who think entering the principal’s office with a bomb and killing the man to be fun… I’m content that your idea of fun isn’t too different from mine.”
Shuya hadn’t thought of the option, but it seemed that Seth was a person that would change his attitude according to changes made in the environment. Shuya had expected the student to go for respect and power and though he was almost sure that those factors had to play at least a small part in Seth’s way of thinking, he was surprised by the motivating engine of ‘fun’. Still, it would change little to the situation. Seth wanted to become school captain and that was the way it was. However, Shuya knew that Seth couldn’t simply achieve this by wanting it so he listened fascinated to what the young student had to say.
“Well, MacMillan was the one with the highest authority and therefore the most political power. He was also a very skilled fighter but I think there are a lot of fun challenges out here… inside the student body. Becoming school captain will most certainly lure them out so if it’s fun you’re looking for, being the school’s captain would be the perfect position. And with the little show you’ve performed recently, I have no doubt some people will recognize you as the new school’s captain. Of course, I doubt the pillars that are now mere students will accept it…”
Shuya rose an eyebrow as he showed he was thinking the situation over carefully. It was time to lay out the plan and hear out what Seth thought of it. One way or another, the outcome could only lead to something positive. Seth would either agree on helping Shuya, resulting in positive things to occur for both of them… Or he could disagree and force Shuya to use other methods…
“Flaws are usually fixable. Why would I hammer on those flaws? Well I guess it’s quite obvious, because I might be able to create a way to fix these flaws… and of course, in exchange you do something for me… Now, as we both know, this school has a new vacant position… one that I would like to fill. As you stated, you have gathered quite some followers. This gives you unofficial power, but power nonetheless. If you support me on getting what I want, I will be in the position to give you what you want… and then, it would be on an official scale…”

"Is that so...?"
Seth removed the cigarette from his mouth, flicking the ashes onto the ground while he carefully regarded the man in front of him. As far as he could tell, there was no measure of deceit coming from the older man, no reason not to believe him. Of course, Seth wouldn't completely let his guard down just yet, but such an offer certainly made things easier for himself.
"How then, exactly, would you propose we go about doing such a thing? I certainly see no reason to turn down your deal, but to be honest, I'm not completely sure what a gang of high school kids could do help you gain such a position."
Aside from voting and/or showing support, Seth couldn't quite see what Revelation could offer the older man in his quest. Admittedly, he hadn't paid much attention to such politics, but was more than willing to listen to whatever Shuya's plan was, should he give the details. Before the man answered, however, Seth would pull his cigarettes out of his pocket, holding them along with his lighter out towards Shuya, a belated attempt at hospitality.
"Smoke?"

“How could I decline…”
Shuya smirked as he took one of Seth’s cigarettes and used the lighter to put it on. He flipped the lighter through the air towards Seth as he inhaled some smoke. He shook his head as he kept his gaze upon Seth.
“But that’s where the answer does lie, Calloway. A gang of school kids supporting the principle is exactly what would introduce a new method of leading. As you know, several schools implement several strategies to keep the students in line while teaching them their knowledge. However, most principles are old and not of this time. Their way of thinking is different from that of the students and that usually causes problems. I have political backup to help me gain this position, but I can propose a new way of keeping control. A principle who gets the aid of a large part of the students… a strong part of the students. Students who don’t become captain because a principle abuses them… but a graduate who becomes principle because the students support him. It would appear that the students respect and accept such an authority.”
He smiled once more as he took one last draw from his cigarette. During his small speech he had already finished his smoke. Looking at Seth, he now laid down the most obvious problem.
“Of course, this would mean that you and I would have to learn to not only trust each other, but work with each other. I for one will not command you to do what I want… and you will not command me… but if we seem to strife for the same goals… we could support each other in that. And if there are matters you wish to attend to that do not matter to me but will not harm my position, there is no need for me to interfere with you. And of course there would be no need for you to keep yourself busy with my matters, since they will not harm you. As you can see, the difference between this method and MacMillan’s method is that I do not abuse you… MacMillan’s pillars turned against him because they had always been used by MacMillan… and because they didn’t like his methods. We however would not be damaged by each other’s methods…”
Shuya calmly stared at Seth. It was time for the young man to give his response and thoughts on the plan laid before him…

The Sophomore's left hand would swipe the lighter out of the air as it sailed towards him, dropping it back into his pocket while Shuya outlined his plan. The prospect of having a friend in a position of authority was appealing, certainly, causing Seth's mind to kick into overdrive over the possible advantages such a situation could bring. As the saying went, however, first things first.
"Well, to make things official then; Revelation will support your bid for the principal's office. Let's hope your stay there is more pleasant than the previous owner's was."
Seth grinned, extending his right hand for a handshake as if to seal the deal formally. There was no need to fear this one, as they both had much to gain from such an alliance, and Seth was sure Shuya wouldn't soon forget just how MacMillan's end had come. Reminding the older man of that fact, however, was unnecessary.
"If that's all, I suppose you might want to get back to the celebrations. After all, graduation only comes once for most people, and I'm sure we both have much work to do."
