Although I've lurked enough here to know that weekends are when most of the folks here are elsewhere doing stuff IRL and weekdays are quiet (with the occasional Wednesday or Thursday being busy), I'm curious about what exactly you guys do when you're not on this board.
When I'm not on this board, I'm either at school, at home doing school work, or browsing other sites that may catch my eye.
I don't mean to come off as pushy, but when do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
Me, I find it typically between Thursdays and Sundays. Only when there's little to do (and I feel like procrastinating) that I post on the other weekdays, thanks to mostly free mornings.
What would "make" me post?
Something interesting. ANYTHING interesting. Anything inspirational and pertains to my character in any sort of way. Sometimes it'd feel like a chore, but at least I get things done.
What'd make me NOT want to post?
Writers' block. When there's nothing to do. When there's nothing to work with. When there's NO ONE TO RP WITH. When there's no one who's a REGULAR poster or ACTIVE.
As much as I'd like to enter other people's open threads, sometimes I either can't find a way for my character to participate or I have a hunch that the thread won't last too long. Don't take this offensively, but that how I see things and that's how I tick. The same could be said if I made an open thread. I'd likely apply to others.
I tired of unfinished threads or rushed endings. I'm also tired of waiting for full weeks for responses without a word in advance or at least a word or two in between to remind me that they didn't get hit by a truck or something. I'm tired of 2-3 months for threads to finish.
Would it kill people to do something productive with the Red Bulls they drink instead of zooming around their rooms with wings?
I don't drink energy drinks. No coffee, no alcohol, nothing of that sort and gosh darn it, I'm still alive to get stuff done beyond my self-proclaimed laziness.

But zooming around my room with wings is hella super leet. (Yes, I used a few words not known to the rest of civilization, and I like it!)
Let's see here, when I'm not lurking, I'm usually playing video games, and or just hanging with my friends. Then theres work, but I've cut back on hours so I have a lot of spare time that I use for generally nothing.
I like to get my posts back same day/day of a reply. Thats just how I am. Sometimes, and in fights or tournies, I'll take at least 12 hours to try and come up with something interesting but it doesn't always work that way. And then when I'm bored I hope beyond all hope something is posted that looks fun.
I only post if it pertains to my character. Once in a while I'll throw something out there and give a decent explanation, but other than that, I pretty much stick to with what he's(Felix) up to.
I've explained this in the 'get to know ya' thread. I hate rejection, or the fact that after I reply that for some odd reason I picked the OP that mysteriously takes a week off and forgets about the post altogether. All about the fear of rejection. That and I know that I don't have the best track record for keeping threads alive, and people know this. So I think it works both ways. I know a couple people out there look at my reply and go "Ah hell, Felix posted. This is a wasted effort." >< It's all in good fun though. I hope.

Lessee...
My usual posting time is after 10PM GMT through Monday-Friday, since that's when I get home from work. Otherwise, any time during Saturday and Sunday. I don't make too much fuss over punctuality, because frankly (with the exception of storyline threads that require a deadline of sorts) I'd rather write to quality that's been thought out than something tossed out in a rush.
I guess my posting is set off by a 'click' of sorts. I'll read over something, hear something, see or hell, maybe even smell something, and something in my head will just click. For replies to threads, it's somewhat the same, but most likely affected by music. In tournaments or other fight threads, as you'd imagine, we're talking angry rock and the surrounding ilk. For anything else, it depends on the pre-established mood of the thread.
Off-putting? Well, I'm not really affected by late-posting, because as I've mentioned, I prefer someone to take some time to make replies as good as I can. What really puts me off, is people whose writing seems starchy and stiff. I've found myself in threads where I can barely make a reply because of two things. One, the other participant makes his post ALL about him and leaves no interaction available. Two, they write paragraph upon paragraph of absolute garbage. Not, of course, in relation to its quality, but stuff that hasn't even got an oblique reason to be IN the thread. You know what I'm talking about. The people who write a paragraph about nothing, just to make their post longer, inadvertantly making you look like a fool because you respond with a post half the size. Which moves me on very neatly, to post size. Now, big posts are great if the contents are relevant and without whimsy, but a small post with useful detail will always win over a large post with useless detail.

Oh, and as for what I do when I'm not on here? I work. Lots. Also, I spend time with Tanya and occasionally go out for a night with friends. Other than that, my time is given solely to you folk. I've not really got anywhere else more interesting to be. And Val? I think I can give some reasoning behind the sporadic bursts of inactivity on the board...As a majority, the age of Hircines members is a good bit older than the average RP'er age. Bear in mind that quite a number of us are over twenty or fast approaching it, and with that there's other commitments that take up more time. Not a bad thing in any right, fact is I think it's damned good to run a place where I can connect with the members mentally and psychologically. It just means that in return for that, the activity isn't quite as common as it used to be.
Believe me, I'd love activity to increase, but there's only so much you can ask of people when their schedules are already full.
~Liam.
Apologies for long ramble. I just woke up from a drunken night out. Rock on.

My friends and I are all working outside of school, and our schedules only really match on weekends, which is why my posting slows down even more than usual.
Weekdays, I'm workin' till around 5-ish, and either spend my time on WoW (Woooo! Go nerds!) or on here. My main problems with posting is the fact that I'm usually in too many threads at once, and posting starts feeling like a chore. Usually, I can only rip out one or two posts a night before I'm sick of writing.
That said, the smallest things of daily life get me in the mood to post. I can't really name one off the top of my head.

I'm curious about what exactly you guys do when you're not on this board.
Weekdays. From morning til 3pm I'm in school. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays I do whatever Hw I have (yeah, I'm responsible now), take a nap, then go to the gym. On Wednesdays and Fridays I go to work til 8 or 10pm right after school. Saturdays I work all day. Sundays? Chillaxin'. The only time of the weekend where I can stay home and relax. Normally this would've been one of the days where I catch up with all threads, but, it doesn't apply to me anymore.
When do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
Well, yeah, I'm not a RPer anymore.
What would "make" me post?
Interest, or commitment. I hated myself for not being able to write just one fuckin reply after another. Back then it was easier to do for an unknown reason, but recently when I tried to RP I forced myself to keep up and not hold anyone down, and I just can't seem to do that. I finished with pissing people off you know? Soz.
What'd make me NOT want to post?
Writers' block. Or, as how it was a few months ago, Halo... (might start up again on that) which got in the way of a thread I was in.
There's always a reason for me not being able to post, and as such I think I'm not meant to anymore. Sure, of course I get the urge, that spur of the moment feeling to write something awesome with Kei, but then that's all it is, something spur of the moment. I've done a whole lot with Kei, starting from Varron, and continuing his history onto other forums, in order to make it just one "pure" character. This was, or is, his last stop. And, to only be fair to you as well, it's mine as well.
Besides, I like reading what you guys have to say OOCly, or what you create ICly.

Games, writing, reading. I check the board frequently during the day and a good bit of the night. <_<
When do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
When I have something to post.
What would "make" me post?
Something interesting. Anything interesting. Anything inspirational and pertains to my character in any sort of way. <-- QFT
What'd make me NOT want to post?
Writers' block. When there's nothing to work with. When there's no one to RP with. When I have story ideas but no one is regularly active enough to keep me interested.
The open threads I see floating around I either don't want to intrude on after a set period of posts or can't find Keith caring. However I may be breaking this habit soon enough.
Have you people gotten bored with XIN1?
(Yes, you people.)

Probably playing some damn game I've been trying to complete for the past decade but always find something new to get or do or vanquish... Damn that Morrowind.
When do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
I got plenty of time... Or I don't, but I can't seem to be more active at school, so I got plenty of time.
What would "make" me post?
... Something to post to.
What'd make me NOT want to post?
When I've just posted to what there was to post to. I really just need posts/threads to enter or fool around with.

School week long, mondays, wednesdays and fridays are hell for me. If I go home for the weekend, I usually hang out with my friends or go out on a date, so I don't post much then. Tuesdays and thursdays, along with the weekends I stay at school, are usually filled with activity. I go to the gym every day around 6, and usually stay for two hours. I run and lift every morning now, so it frees up a little bit more of my evening for dicking around, homework, tv, this, or videogames depending on my mood.
when do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
In class if I'm at a computer lab (I'm quite easily distracted), in between classes, early or late evenings as well.
What would "make" me post?
I'm a fight whore. I typically like all my threads to go for confrontation, whether its physical (preferred) or verbal. Things that relate to former threads really tickle my fancy as well. It brings the board to more of like a continual progressive storyline rather than sporadic events every here and there.
What'd make me NOT want to post?
One-liners, copy cats, and people who ignore post content. All of the above piss me off. I used to be mainly attracted to the threads with big names, so I'd stay away from newbie posts, but the past few months that's changed and I typically stay away from threads with people I've interacted with too much in order to break cliques (though that's a natural thing to happen on here.) Oh, and small talk threads. I HATE small talk.

Currently I’m finishing up my last 5 shifts of work. I am beginning to read a lot more manga, as my schedules been changed around so much lately that I don’t have any consistency. So, my training has been delayed again, peeving me off a bit more then I usually am. Otherwise, I’m usually hanging out with friends – still not really use to this whole social thing – or playing anything from MGS1-3 or something newer like Burnout Paradise.
when do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?
Usually before or after work, should nothing else be scheduled. It’s really a matter of being in a thread, more so then finding time to post.
What would "make" me post?
Fights, like Tyler I’m a big fight whore. I love fights, more then anything else, sport or street it doesn’t matter. So, if it’s to a fight then I’m usually replying as soon as possible.
What'd make me NOT want to post?
With this one it’s just like everyone else. Writers block slows me down, doesn’t stop me, but slows me down. Otherwise it’s finding interest or a place to put my character in there. Usually this only happens if it is in fact with a fight, as to why my characters rarely involved with bigger storylines, even if the whole schools suppose to be involved.

I'm curious about what exactly you guys do when you're not on this board.Uphold a household of animals when my hubby is off to work and Im by myself. When Im working Im actually drawing or writing a post since Im on a computer all day. And if Im not by my lonesome Ill hang with my buddy angie and we'd hit the streets and run through parks. And since I dont have internet I found I had alot of spare time to waste. lol. I don't mean to come off as pushy, but when do you guys usually find the time to post (IC-ly)?At work. lol which sounds weird since most people are busy at work but me, naw eight hours in front of a computer lets me play solitare be a pro at spider solitare and curse that I dont have cable or internet at the office. but I get my long ass posts done then. Copy and paste does wonders for me and why theres a gap between the last post and mine. What would "make" me post?Hmm Being bored... I tend to do alot of storylining with my character leaving some open for interaction helps Victoria mingle with new or old friends. with Victoria having some non-real characters around her I feel free to use them when I want to and since I plan to bring Tak into the picture Ill be able to keep myself preoccupied if no one wants to rp with me But if people leave open posts up and their detailed and I feel it will be fun Ill mosey myself right up there and reply to that open post even if I dont have a reason to. What'd make me NOT want to post?People that do those one paragraphs that dont do detail that expect someone else to do the work that leave a thread with spur of the moment movements that pretty much leave you hanging with your mouth open thinking to yourself "what the hell?" whooo long sentence.. but yea I get uptight when someone dont put a lil effort in their posting.
