You know the drill.
Crowd for a ring, in front of a dilapidated old building.
Have fun.

Pushing past the crowd Odin made his way toward the center of attention, the fourth match of the second round featuring him and yet another Varronite. It seemed as though that only those originating in New York were up for a good fight, or even had the chance of competing with the transfers. There might be a few that could hold a candle to them, bit their numbers dropped off quickly. Everyone just seemed to happy out here to have the killer instinct that was developed through years of public school back on the east coast.
As he cleared the final ring of spectators Odin cracked his knuckles, first with his right hand followed by his left. While this would cause future problems in the terms of arthritis it was necessary in order to avoid popping one or more knuckles when making contact with his opponent’s face or structure. Luckily for Odin this wasn’t much of a habit any more, having cut down on it after moving to San Francisco.
Stopping roughly half way into the clearing Odin rolled his head back, doing one final stretch in order to loosen up his shoulders and neck. He had a good idea what he was going up against, having seen the self proclaimed Pain Killer at other underground tournaments, though never having fought him made things difficult… They both seemed to have a similar style, or at least did, and considering it focused heavily on over-powering their opponent Odin was both technically and physically disadvantaged. But, then again, that was then, and now was a completely different situation. Odin had changed, not only tactics but style – even if it was only slightly. Simply put, there was no way he’d lose before he began exploring his dream. This was simply another stepping-stone forward.
Discarding his jacket he stood there with a black muscle shirt and jeans on, sporting a pair of white Nike sneakers to complete the ensemble. It was still winter, and a street fight despite the rules, so it was best to be prepaired.

To put it simply, Adam Rydell was in a foul mood.
His last match hadn't ended nearly as well as he had hoped, though then again, he couldn't say he was particularly surprised. Aryck had always been a good fighter, and it seemed during his time away, he'd either gotten better, or Pain Killer had forgotten how to beat him. In either case, the two were even now, and Adam made a mental note to look up his former comrade in arms to have the tie-breaking match. This particular train of thought ran through his head as he made his way from his car to the crowd of people, slowly pushing his way through until he slipped into the middle, where the sight of his opponent pushed away all his previous thoughts, leaving just one behind.
Up against the champ. Sweet.
Much like his opponent, Pain Killer had also watched the others who participated in the underground tournaments, and had likely watched Odin more closely than the other man had watched him. After all, Odin had won the whole thing more than once, and so, had made a reputation for himself as one of the toughest around. This fact alone was enough to have Adam eager to get things underway, yet there were other reasons that made his adrenaline start pumping the second he had broken through the crowd, his gloved hands working swiftly to pull off his trenchcoat and toss it to the ground.
This is going to be brutal... I can't wait!
Despite himself, a small smile broke out on Pain Killer's lips, unable to hide any longer. From what he could remember of Odin's matches he had observed, the two had a fairly similiar strategy, be it either duking it out standing up or fighting on the ground. Assuming neither man had deviated from such a plan, Pain Killer was fairly confident both fighters would wind up bloodied and bruised by the time this battle ended, a thought that excited him immensely. The best fights in his mind were the ones that went the distance, rather than just one side pounding the other into the ground.
"I haven't seen you fight lately, but I hope you haven't gotten sloppy. I plan on taking my time picking you apart."
Even as he spoke, Pain Killer pulled his right leg back, turning his body so that his left shoulder made a 45 degree angle from Odin. His right hand rose to his face, the fist next to his right cheek, while the left hand hovered up near its respective shoulder, curled in a loose fist.
"Let's get this party started, shall we?"
Still smiling, Pain Killer waited patiently for his opponent to ready himself, either to attack Adam or get into a stance himself. Either option was fine with the larger male, and once he had an idea of what to expect, the fight would start, one way or another.

“Sloppy? Hm, guess you just can’t see over the pile of fallen opponents. But don’t worry, I’ll put you on top of that pile.”
Grinning with a short flash of an actual smile Odin mimicked his opponent, slipping back with his right leg as he slipped into a fighting stance. His was a bit different, seeing as he knew what he’d have to do in order to not only stick to his game plan, but also thrive in this situation. His feet were a bit closer together, noted only because he was about to move on the offensive, so the possession at this particular time didn’t matter a great deal. His hands were raised; his right positioned higher up then normal, guarding the top of his cheek rather then the bottom of his jaw. Makes sense, considering he’s fighting a giant in terms of physical prowess. His left was also lifted up a bit higher, and unlike his opponent he didn’t pull his front side back in order to optimize both hands for punching power.
That type of stance was a bit to power orientated for Odin, who at this time needed to rely on his speed and over superior technique and tactics. Or, at least that’s what he chooses to believe. If push came to shove he’d need to rely on technique and finesse to over power Adam Rydell, so in the classic sense of boxing this was starting off with the most basic of style choices: Strength Vs Speed.
With his left shoulder rolled in and remaining loose Odin started to move forward, his feet spreading apart as he began to close the distance with quick shuffles. When he entered Adam’s immediate striking range he became all the more aware, ready yet not focused on head movement as he remained mentally on the offensive. Despite being to far to actually hit Odin snapped out his left hand in a jab, his classic beginning move, yet he was still moving forward, and with his muscles eased and already flowing the second jab snapped out at a much quicker speed. Combine that with his shuffle forward and you’d have contact with Rydell’s face.
At the point of impact, should it occur as planned, Odin’s weight would be mostly designated to his front foot, roughly 55/45 in favor for his left foot. It was a small differential, but made his front foot his base foot for power. While he pushed his weight forward with his relatively short stance – needed to make up for the height difference – Odin’s right elbow was cocked back, ready to fire off past his shoulder or tense up and remain in guard with his fist still protecting a good sum for the right side of his face.

Odin's reply cause Pain Killer to grin wider, his teeth showing in a mixture of excitement and happiness. The attitude was perfect, absolutely perfect, the mixture of aggression and confidence was exactly everything Adam had hoped for, matching his own almost exactly. He made no reply, however, as Odin began to advance towards him, seemingly intent on making the first offensive, something that Pain Killer was content with.
Let's see how good you are, then.
From what the youngest Rydell boy could remember, he had never seen his opponent use a kick in his fights. Coupled with the fact that he believed Odin fought like he did, Pain Killer's attention was focused on the upper body of the smaller Senior, believing the attack would come from one of his arms. His own range was greater than Odin's, something both men were no doubt aware of, which meant the smaller man would need to either get closer quickly, or risk being hit while entering his own range.
Once Odin's fist was in motion for the first jab, Pain Killer's right foot began to slide forward and to the side, his shoulders and neck pulling back to pull his head out of danger, despite the fact that the attack wouldn't hit him from the distance they were at during this moment. However, the step to the right hadn't just been to help pull himself out of harms way, but to also open up a new angle of attack.
As the step ended, Pain Killer's right hand would whip forward in a straightforward punch aimed at Odin's cheek, his torso turning with the blow and tilting back to its upright position to give the blow extra power. His left hand would drop slightly, falling to a position over his chest, the fingers opening from the loose fist into just a relaxed position in order to make it easier to defend against anything heading towards his upper body.

Slipping forward he had the feeling of an immediate change of position by his opponent, read barely in the giants body language. The posture of his frame, the angle of his feet, and the look in his eyes read that he was going to an angled attack. It was a smart plan, Odin used it often with his precision punching and it was hard to counter unless you were use to not only it but also the signs it displayed. Luckily Odin was pretty well adept at reading punches and the patterns of the body, and even more adept in terms of ability to counter and out maneuver his larger opponent.
After the first jab he brought his left arm back with the elbow pushing backwards, rather then coming down along his body. This was a clear set up for a second punch, which had been part of his plan until his opponent began to move away. Shifting his feet he put his weight back onto his right as his left foot stepped back and around, following the movement of his opponent as he pivoted firmly on his right foot and planted his left foot to the side. Having cocked his left arm outward more so then coiled along his body all he had to do was throw his forearm out there and it seemed like the perfect block.
With his left forearm connecting with Rydell’s right Odin not only fought the power of the punch but also pushed against it with the momentum built up by the torque of his body. While it was unlikely that he was going supremely over-power his opponent and knock him off balance with a simple parry there seemed like a good chance that he’d catch his opponent off guard and delay a counter with his parry.
Keeping up on the offensive Odin’s right side would follow his left, coming around in an inside over hand right, which in laymen’s terms meant that he was throwing an inside hook with his spin: trying to knock Rydell’s jaw two inches to the right. Should the connection occur Odin’s body would be positioned with similar concept to an adequate and proper technique. His left foot was planted, holding steady as his right foot was lifted off its heel an on the ball. His hips were turned over, as were his shoulders, and the only ‘mistake’ to the technique is that his left arm wasn’t tucked in… But it had more important things to worry about.

OOC: Gah, I'm tired, and I don't know if I explained my move right. Hit me up on MSN or PM me if it's unclear.
IC:
As to be expected from one who was trained in upper body fighting as much as Odin, the smaller boy was able to read the strike that was coming in quite well, enough to defend himself accordingly with his left forearm. Such a feat didn't surprise Pain Killer as it might have, but rather, spurred him to continue on the offensive, with no regard for his safety. All that remained in his mind was the desire to push through Odin's defense in order to start landing some decisive blows, even if he had to take damage to do it.
After all, he wasn't called Pain Killer for nothing.
There was brief resistance from his right arm as it sailed off target, the arm naturally still intending to hit its original mark, though such a feat was impossible due to the deflection. However, the momentum forward never stopped, and since Odin had sent Adam's arm into motion away from his body, the larger male did not resist, but rather, encouraged such an action, twisting his upper body to his right, his left hand clenching into a fist as his arm whipped forward.
The fact was, while Pain Killer had noticed Odin's right hand in motion, he seemed to blatantly ignore it. Instead, he was focused on putting as much speed and power into his left elbow as he could, the one that was aimed directly at Odin's right eye. Inadvertently, such a strike would also serve to protect him from Odin's attack, as his tricep would intercept the hook from the smaller male on its way towards his jaw, as his arm would be sent out at a 90 degree angle from his shoulder in order to get the height required to strike Odin in the eye.

Odin’s right fist sailed upwards, hooking in with the slightest of eases, the connection was nearly dead set until the pressure of Adam Rydell’s arm began to push against not only the outside, but inside of his arm as well. His arm was trapped, not able to break out of the rudimentary hold by the path it was traveling, but it wasn’t purely stuck, it just needed a simpler task in order to be useful. Giving it’s position Odin had another way to move on the offensive, well, it wasn’t so much a back-up plan as a continuation of his assault, minus the beginning strike.
With his right elbow already raised up higher then normal, in order to account for his opponent’s height, Odin opened his fist and pushed his palm and grip against the meat of Rydell’s shoulder. With his elbow already cocked outwards it would make for a natural defense against the elbow, not only shortening its swing, but also keeping it away in the process. Simultaneously, while his right hand acted on defense his left moved into a similar position, snapping out and grabbing the upper most part of Rydell’s left bicep, just under the meat of the shoulder. While Rydell could over power him it wasn’t an easy thing to do, and would take more then the moment’s notice that would be given in order to react.
Regardless, Odin’s arm movements wouldn’t have been enough to secure a proper evasion, but that’s why he had leaned to his left, putting a heftier amount of weight on his left foot while he grabbed and dodged. The shortened elbow would miss it’s mark, if only by a short distance, and would be countered rather uncharacteristically by someone of Odin’s usual demeanor – needless to say he has in fact become a different, stronger fighter.
Pushing off with his back foot he turned his hips over, driving his right side forward with as much power as he could muster while bringing his right knee up and aiming it for Rydell’s left side. He wasn’t aiming for straight up into the gut only because that had felt awkward during practice, so instead he was sort of hooking his knee inward to strike at the side’s of his opponent’s frame, which both felt stronger and more natural with his bodies movement. All in all it was a pretty strong knee, and from the inside too.

Odin's hands were fast, something that was unsurprising given how he was a punch oriented fighter, as far as Pain Killer knew. Coupled with the fact that the larger male was hardly known for being the sharpest knife in the drawer, and it would seem as if things were well into Odin's favour for this fight. However, the youngest living Rydell had always had a knack for fighting, and had devised simple yet effective traps in order to catch his usually smaller opponents.
One of Odin's arms had been caught, though the limb had effectively blocked Pain Killer's elbow attack, as Adam's left arm was now wrapped around Odin's right bicep. As Odin's left hand moved to support his right arm, Adam's free right hand would do the same, retracting back towards his body in order to grasp Odin's right wrist, his thumb on top of the wrist and closer to the hand rather than the rest of the forearm. Once such a grip had been established, Pain Killer stepped to the left with his right foot, turning his body away from his opponent, the left arm holding Odin's elbow against his side to isolate the joint. Unless Odin could manage to overpower his larger foe's entire arm with just his biceps, such an act would wind up straightening out Odin's right arm.
Having not expected Odin to attack with his legs, the move had not been intended to evade the knee attack. As such, in the midst of turning, Odin's knee would strike a glancing blow to Pain Killer's stomach, enough to hurt, but certainly not enough to dissuade him from following through with his plan. Once successfully turned away, and should Odin's arm be extended as planned, Pain Killer would proceed to drop his weight forward onto the smaller man's upper arm, while pulling upwards on the wrist, in order to hyperextend the elbow in a classic arm bar. Unless Odin were to go down with him, or find some way to relieve the pressure, it was very likely such an action would cause the elbow joint to snap.

While throwing out his knee Odin did what he could in order to keep stability and control, meaning his elbows were bent and flexed in order to try and hold Rydell in the same position. Luckily, the rather offensive orientated fighter was lucky in this situation, for if he hadn’t kept his elbows bent he would’ve already fallen prey to a rather classic and effective submission. As his right foot hit the ground it was already stepped out to the side slightly, both for balance and position as Odin slipped his left arm out from under Adam’s crossed over right arm.
Pushing forward off his left Odin ducked down, aiming to step through and underneath the left shoulder of his opponent. It put his arm in an awkward position, but by pulling on it and following through with his weight he’d be able to escape without serious injury. Put bluntly he was going towards the weak point in his opponent’s hold, and by stepping past his already extended range he’d find himself clear of the grasp, danger, and pressure put on by his opponent. Rushing forward a few more steps he wouldn’t stop until he was clear of his opponent, almost crashing into the edge of the ring built by the surrounding crowd.
Turning around Odin retook his fighting stance, only with some adjustments to say the least. His body became squarer, with his left side barely leading as he brought his fists up in a peek-a-boo style. His feet were farther apart, creating stability and power at the same time with his left foot barely leading. Shifting his weight from side to side he began to weave his body left and right, gradually picking up speed as he started his defensive motion. His head was following the classic figure eight motion, though if drawn out it would appear to be the sign for infinity. He moved from side to side, picking up more speed as the seconds drew by, swaying in tight circles with his height varying slightly each and every time. He’d weight for Rydell to move forward, and when he does Odin would start to counter with everything he can muster.

OOC: Well I got the go ahead to judge this from Pain Killer in stead of waiting for his final post. Judging from what has happened so far in this match, Odin is the winner. He got in a hit and it has to be assumed that he escaped the submission.
Good luck next round guys.
