Starting on the 1st of every month, I will be actively removing accounts that fall under these circumstances.
30 days inactivity+No posts/bio present = Deletion.
45-59 days inactivity+Under ten posts = Deletion.
60-74 days inactivity+Under twenty posts = Deletion.
Inactive over three months, unless cause for absence noted, high chance of deletion.
Simply put, I would like to keep the place tidy, for all wants and intents. Now, if you've got active characters, don't worry. This doesn't apply to you. This is partially aimed at newcomers as a warning of sorts...
It's nothing personal if your account gets deleted, if you've been lurking, this will count for you. So long as you're logging in and being present on the boards (even just a couple posts to the ooc once in a while if you have a slump), you're safe.
Basically, I'm trying to get rid of dead accounts. I like seeing a high member count, but realistically only a certain number of them are consistently active. Let's keep increasing that, folks ^^

Maybe you could send an email to inactive players 10 days before you would delete them, just to warn them...

May I at this time propose we make a 'Absense/inactive' sub board somewhere in the ooc? Just for it to be easier for ya guys to keep an eye on the absensers...

How about we leave it for people to take care of their own hide for once? I'm all for safety nets, but come on people, if they're getting kicked by then, it's clear they don't care.
Just hold onto saved forms of your bio, and if you show up four months later, be ready to start afresh.

Maybe you could send an email to inactive players 10 days before you would delete them, just to warn them... Ahem. If you haven't made a "Gotta go, I'll be back soon!" thread, and you just happen to bugger off and not come back for...let's say three months or something, you would probably be saved by your POST COUNT (Over twenty posts? Com'on, it's not THAT hard to do. Read: this also answer's J.T's question). The notification email is only adding to the work of the staff, and if you're not courteous enough to bomb down a thread to state you'll be gone awhile, and by some chance you don't come back for over three months, and by some other chance your account gets deleted...it's your own fault. Besides, this is more so for those people who join up, and either post a bio and then bugger off, or just haven't posted a bio at all.

So I believe that once a bunch of things are cleared up here, these will be posted up in the rules board so new members will know what they're getting into?

... Random joke up there...
And I am all for this thingy. So we can remove those people who are rarely here...
Just a question: What if the said person is VIP or Mod or Lite or admin are there other rules then?

... Random joke up there... And I am all for this thingy. So we can remove those people who are rarely here... Just a question: What if the said person is VIP or Mod or Lite or admin are there other rules then? If said person is a staff member, then the odds are they will (assuming they just up and disappear with NO reasonable explanation) lose their staff position. Their account will not be deleted however. if VIP's do the same thing, depending on their presence on the board, post count and other such variable factors, then they risk deletion as well. To make a note of this for anyone who wants to quibble the rules, as Kurtz would put it, if you remark it as 'I didn't think I'd have to worry', you'll be met with nothing more than silence. Keep your bios saved, if you get your account deleted then just start from scratch. Simple. Deletion isn't the same as a ban. A ban prevents you from accessing the board, deletion just removes your account from the list.

I duno why everyone's freaking out about this. It's not like it's something that's going to really be worrysome. Heck, my computer died, so I found another one and let the people know. Hey presto, problem solved.

Plus a month inactivity without any form of warning or any post just plain simply shows you got no interest in rp-ing at all... As for staff members, I doubt any of the staff would be made staff if Liam wasn't sure they wouldn't go abscent for 3 months...
Even if Maverik wouldn't have been able to get a new computer so soon, he'd go on a friend's computer and either msn Liam, send him an e-mail, and post that it will take some more time on the forum... letting people know the reasons of your abscense isn't that difficult these days... I see no more then reasoning in these small rules...
