Hi. How's everyone doing? In a Role-Playing mood you say? Good.
I'm aware of there being people who are taking leaves as of late. You guys are excused. However, for all of you still here. LETS GET TO ROLEPLAYING. I see that so far the board has had progress into running along smoothly. Unfortunately we are not looked at as official (which actually inspired this. Sin's comment on his bio pissed me off) and therefore, lets try to be a more active, and FRIENDLY community. I remember when back in the day, we didnt have to use "Open" after each of our thread names. Sure, everyone's trying to make personal friends, but what's unnoticed is that they end up staying in constant cliques. What's goin on? Just RP to have fun. Meet new people. Make it welcoming. Just because it doesnt have Open it means that it's private? It should be the other way around!
What I'm trying to get at mostly is. Lets get some more RPing done. Yeah, I shouldn't talk. But, hey. I've done all the RPing I need to give me leverage for eternity. I even convinced myself while writing a post last night (yeah, check in the forest. I'm not lying) that I actually worsened as a RolePlayer! On the old forum, we had thousands of posts everywhere. Lets achieve that. Hell. Even the OOC is doing better than the RolePlaying! Normally I wouldn't complain about that, but, since it's about stuff I can care less about, I'll complain! >_>
In seriousness. I believe we can do much better you know? Even me.. and believe me, I'm working hard on it. I'm not the only one with a life, and I hope you guys are doing fine as well. I want a "Boom" in RP posts. Not just the same few people over and over (*cough* Valencia *cough*) taking the initiative. Let's become the Forum that we used to be, and grow into something that we weren't. Let's be perfect.
Let's Role-Play.

People are working on it but current stuff isn't supposed to boom, it's rather supposed to be small until the time comes. Anyway, I'm sure things will get better soon ^^

Man... Those were the days... When everyone and anyone was a potential RPer... I miss those days. It's harder now to make those kinds of threads, when I've got to many to consider that are important to my characters story... But hell. When I've not got 5 story threads biting at my heels, I'll go out there and make random RP threads. I won't even label them. It'll be a chance to mingle with all you younger kiddies that I don't know and have little connection to anymore.

The only reason I haven't dive-bombed people's threads, is simply because I don't want to interrupt something they might have planned. Hence, why I look for Open threads. But if it makes any difference, people can feel free to jump into threads I'm in, unless it says specifically who I'm looking for. Then I'm kind of hoping for certain circumstances to happen.

Same here, i have many things planned, But in order for them to work, you need people to partake. Im not gonna go around and beg, il merely sit in the corner of my comp and wait for others to join the fun. ;D

Perhaps that's the issue? We're too attached to set and outlined storylines, and have gotten too accustomed to respecting that various people have storylines that we forge these small board cliques.
If we want to surpass that, we need to establish one of two things: one, we create a MASSIVE storyline event, something that'd make the Rebellion Event on the old board start to feel its reign of legacy echo in death; or secondly, we drop storylines completely, and heavily encourage various folks to simply roleplay simple, normal threads.
...
I think you can all see which is easier to accomplish. Now, to make that massive event, what are we to do?
Now you see today's dilemma.

I'm mostly doing crazy-random-boom-destruction-major-property-damage-hospital-bills threads for the sake of exposition at the moment.
It's tricky getting involved with other people's storylines if you don't even know who those people are, thusly why I'm meeting them. Somehow.
Speaking from my perspective, although I have lots of things in store for my characters no matter where I am, the reason why I RP is so that other people can make things more interesting by "messing things up".
...To a reasonable extent, of course.

If need be, Liam will start causing chaos. He's sure the principal could get away with causing a few students to disappear (Quote, Unquote ). Of course, other than that, there's only so much that can be done on his part. It's really up to the masses to start making this board what the old one once was...just without the dictatorship. We're a XIN board, official or not, isn't it time we started acting like one again? This message brought to you from the Shoulder Puppet Admin, dicting his words.

(Jellar) It's fine. Thanks for the support. Let me be honest. After reading my buddy Ko's post. I pretty much lost all hope. "current stuff isn't supposed to boom, it's rather supposed to be small until the time comes." That's why I wrote the post saying I gave up- I didn't want to try and do anything anymore. But ,yeah, continuing about the post. Yeah right. The reason why we need to get as much RPing done is to have a foundation for our characters to be ready, BY the time of a big storyline. Sure, we've all established histories and what not, but, can't forget. New school. New environment. Ain't gonna happen buddy. Besides. It's a game isn't it? I'm just trying to remind everyone that this isn't school. It's not like we're being forced to solidify our personal storylines. People are too concerned with trying to be famous for whatever they have planned. Think about it... they want your acknowledgment. Now, however. I'm much happier. I've got an IM from an old RPer friend last night, giving me his support, with only one line. That was all I needed. Today? I come to see that this thread got more than 100 views, and ten replies. I'm just hoping that this gets out. I want everyone (yeah. Like a tyrant) to RP with the intention of role-playing for the sake of interaction. What's even better, lesser-skilled RPers (yeah, just because some of you write paragraphs upon paragraphs, doesn't mean your good yet juniors) can interact with people that have more experience, thus being able to compare and acknowledge both their skills at the same time. There's no 'lose-lose' situation here. From here on. Think of this as like the "Carnavals" in countries like Germany, or El Salvador- an extended period of time filled with celebration you know? But this here, will simply be about ease and friendship, with no pressure (aside from me of course! nah, just kidding). Dude.. John. Don't start with that yet. I don't think I was around during the Rebellion, so I can't say much. Only thing I remember was a few storylines being exclusive to very few people (you, Liam and the others, which is one clique I'm referring too). So, remember to keep that in mind. If anything, just contact me to give you my thoughts. I think you'd actually like 'em too Hehe. I think I finally found the words to describe what I actually want done. I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner. We've (Maverik too in his post above) been saying "back in the day" when referring to more communicable times. And it hit me... why aren't we doing it now. Maybe "it's because we gave ourselves reps?" Or "made some close friends for our characters?" Nah... I don't think those two reasons can have much an impact; I think it's because... we're older. When we RP, we're exposed to a new thing. We get "post-happy" and start goin crazy (I know I was when I started. One-liners everywhere I'm afraid to admit XD). We like to interact... as if we're children. The innocence of bein a kid. That's where i'm trying to get at. So yeah. Long OOC posts from me are rare. Really only common when there's really something bugging me. Sorry for breakin b*lls here folks. ~Manuel

Excuse me? I cannot remember me saying anything like that? All I said is that some were currently busy on stuff that isn't supposed to be BOOM right from the start... I was merely stating what I was working on, a personal opinion of a personal fact... of one member of the 140... I never said anything about me not agreeing on you or disagreeing either. In fact, I hardly gave any comment on the entire matter... I don't want to spoil anything of my story stuff etc. in an OOC post, hence why I didn't go into this deeper and since you either don't have msn or I don't have you on msn, I cannot talk to you about this on msn...
I think it's a pity you misunderstood what I meant, I was only posting one line at the current time since I was busy... I've not been busy with the forum at the moment and most people know why that is. Please forgive me for not going into this matter fully, only on a small global view...

...As a quick notice on Jellar's thread, we SERIOUSLY need some more fighting Irish... *cough* I mean Hircinians in that fight. We've got some Hircinians, but none of them are fighters. We need some who can actually fight for school pride!
...Just wanted to add that.

And another quick note, please, for the love of God, read the other posts before posting. I know, it's a lot to take in, but talking to someone as they're being punched in the face just makes it look kinda... dumb.

Now, did my little BK attacking 'Freshmen captain' help? And just ignore Kvist for now, only when I post in bold do you have to worry... This thread could be massive! ... And I shall hate Liam if he pulls the plug too early

I'm pulling no plugs. Read my post carefully, you'll see that all the Varron students in this thread are doing is giving me ammunition for a storyline, something that'll start to take precedent in due course....
Enjoy the little rumble folks, I know -I- will....

I'd just like to say the big post IC that is inspired by Kei here, is one of the worst things i've seen by you people. Its 552 worthy. It has no structure, you're all doing your own thing.

Post by Leon Loire on Mar 14, 2007 20:12:17 GMT 1
Heh, thank you Shamino, we really needed your support and approval of this thread. Now without it, we're doomed! No!
I don't rightly care if it's as "badly organized as 552." At least we're doing something, and it's actually helping keep people active. If people like it, then it's something good to see or hear, unlike your random and completely unnecessary remark.
So if you've got something smart to say Shamino, keep talking. Otherwise, shove off. Based on your remark, I'm assuming you're just trying to pull people down, just like you've been doing a lot lately. I'm tired of your moods to "bring people down." So come up with a way for us to have another "organized" storyline, or keep it to yourself and "The Syndicate."
