Can I say how much I love this video?
My brother showed it to me, even forced me to watch it, and after going through the whole thing, I couldn't stop myself from laughing. Humor itself is beautiful, but true humor is even better.
I know the PS3 will probably recover from its mistakes in a year or two, but hell, I'm still not buying it even then. $600 dollars for a Blue Ray, Killzone 2 and some other games that require you to be a Playstation fanboy? Sorry, but I'll stick with Xbox, which was my favorite from the very start.
And let's not forget the total irony of Nintendo kicking Sony's ass this turn around...
Either way, awesome vid Nick man, I thought it was enlighteningly musical!

Yeah, and I wonder where he got the vid Just Kidding Mav. All in all, the video is really good. It isn't just funny, but it is brutally honest when it comes to the ps3. EDIT: What the hell is with the 360 behing the cardboard cut out of a play station 3?

This is all honestly Microsoft Propaganda. It took me 5 years to buy a PS2, and i did it for Guitar Hero and Racing/Fighting games. Console's should not be used for FPS, 3PS, or RTS. Console's are best for RPG Genre's, fighting, and racing. Which imho, XBox has done only sucessfully with Fight Night.
Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasies, White Knight ,etc.. are all solid reasons to wait for the ps3 bashing and hype to slow down, and purchase what seems to be a great console. However, i'd rather spend $200 on a new graphics card and be set for another 5 years in the gaming industry.

Funny movie xD Brilliant song! And I don't care if it is hidden prop, or flaming of sony or making X-WII seem like heaven... Mature context just below this text! ... Well, couldn't help to bring this one up. No snide intentions behind it... i36.photobucket.com/albums/e46/Kvisten/sony_bullshit_anim4.gifOh, and this picture is indeed from my idol: Maddox.

I'm the first to admit, I would buy a PS3 if the opportunity arose. Not for the price-tag it has at the moment by any means, that can go and get itself to hell, but when it cheapens to a reasonable amount I have every intent of getting it.
Simply put, I'm a massive fan of games like Soul Caliber, Tekken and the like, as well as games like Genji. I intend, massively, to get that console for the chance to play them. ^^

Just to note, I don't see why an FPS requires a computer in order to be played, since the clear majority of controls tend to be extremely simple; meanwhile, RPGs can be extremely complex at times, and tend to be better on a more customizable computer than a console.
Honestly Sham, the real truth is that 360 is currently doing better in marketing games at the moment, just like Wii is good at marketing its new functionality. I don't need a console simply to play racing games "as they should be played," I play it for simplicity. And in truth, that's why racing games are easier on a console, because there's really nothing complex about it. Same with fighter games.
This video is no "Xbox Propaganda," it's simply truth of PS3's latest, and very ironic, marketing screw up. They wasted their time by bringing in Blue Ray and concerning over technology to win over big games. Now they're paying for it while Xbox 360 lines up several new anticipated games. It's humorous truth.
Sorry, but for some reason that just urked me.

I found this a week ago, found it hilarious, and have been singing that 1 verse.
"Use Blu-ray, which I don't need, now you're getting your ass kicked by the Wii!"
and "Say Halo 3 don't worry you. Instead you offer Killzone two. But Killzone one, sucked before, so what made you think we wanted more?"

XBox was released a year earlier. Of course they are going to have 'anticipated' games lined up a year after release. I'd be concerned if it wasn't. The PS3 hasn't really had a marketing blunder. The Playstation name is supposed to sell its self. You buy a Ferrari because its a fucking Ferrari. You buy a Playstation because its a playstation.
I hate the 360's controls and its layout. Hate hate hate. The FPS's on a console are shit. Ghost Recon, Vegas, etc etc.. are all rubbish but are amazing when played on a PC. The Mouse allows for pin pont accuracy. The console made up for that by introducing rediculous healthbars or "Take too many hits at once, you dead." concept. After spending weeks and weeks trying to become as good on the console as I am on the PC, i've found it impossible. FPS's should stay where they were created: On the PC.

Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasies, White Knight ,etc.. are all solid reasons to wait for the ps3 bashing and hype to slow down, and purchase what seems to be a great console. PS3 is slowly but surely loosing their exclusives. Assassin's Creed for example is now going to have a 360 release. And when have you known an MGS title to not just come out for Xbox a few months later with all the extras that they later add into a re-release for the Playstation? Until the system has a SIGNIFICANT price drop, the only thing that will force my hand into buying one will be a true, no bullshit Final Fantasy VII remake, which has been floating somewhere between the realms of fact and rumor for some time now.

Shamino while I agree with you that FPS's are better suited for the PC I don't think we should get rid of console FPS's just because of that fact. If that is what you are getting at anyway.

I agree the FPS's are suited only for the PC. However, Halo has been a big hit, and I don't see it going away until it just gets redundant and overdone. Everything Shamino said I pretty much agree.
In any case, that video was pretty dam sweet. Props to the guy who made the new song too.

If they just make FF7 with better graffics I'll go out and buy it. My Psone version got scratched up because of that peice of shit reader, and now I'm unable to play/purchase it. So, FF7 on PS3=instant buy for millions of fan boys.
I had another reason for this post, something about a rumor of after FF13 sony was losing all rights to the series, but it's nothing I've been able to confirm.

I think it depends heavily on the game itself whether it should be played on a PC or a console. It depends on depth a good deal....your in depth shooters are best for PC because it has higher potential....but if the game is easier to pick up, going to sell really well, and going to have a good amount of online play, it's best for the console.....controller are simple and because machines and standardized, your not likely going to have everything go to hell in a hand basket because somebody gets asked to download the latest update for windows.
Oh, and I think RPGs would be better on PC than console...in a genre increasingly using higher standard of graphics than the rest of the industry, why settle for console hamburger when your can have premium PC steak.
Also, this console race is still too early to tell. Microsoft is going to be successful because it had such a long time unopposed. Playstation, I find, has been hurt more by the decisions AFTER launch than before it. Had they dropped the price around the holiday season, Wii would be floundering already....but they didn't. Plus they still refuse to fix online issues.
Personally though, I find myself starting to hate the wii....and not because it has bad games...it has great games.....but the controller is just such a novelty thing. Any REAL fighting game it not going to be at home on it (if your going to bring up SSBM, die in a fire), and shooters won't do well either. I can easily seeing this system following the standard Nintendo program of "yay, great launch! Now lets release about 3 good games every fall/early winter for the rest of it's shelf-life.".
For now, it's going to be Sony trying to turn things around, Nintendo fan boys with wii's spouting PS hate because they stole the position Nintendo had years ago before they dropped the ball, all the while Xbox not caring because they'll be fine.
Oh, and PC standing a few feet away yelling "I am invincible!"
So yeah, we'll see whether Sony drops the ball as things move on, or whether they pull things around.
In the end though, wii fans will still be crying....sure, they'll probably beat the PS3 no matter what now...but they weren't the people to beat anymore.
Also, I like the song, I think it has great production values.

I guess it all just depends on what you want from a console... A friend of mine bought the xbox 360, together with gears of war, rainbow six vegas and some table tennis game... he told me how awesome it was, I came over and played the games a little, told him he would turn to ps3 anyway, he declined... Now he has sold his xbox 360 and waits for the ps3 to come out, buying it for the full price... Now I won't say I am pro this and con that, I think every consoles may have their pros and cons. I for instance love the fun you can have with the wii when you're slightly tipsy and have some friends over. Ps3 in my opinion is more if you want to just game yourself, as Shamino stated it, mostly for RPG's, fighting, racing and in my opinion sports and adventures as well. I played Socom 1 - 3 on the Playstation 2, I had fun playing them but shooters just don't last long on consoles. Of course, everyone has the same handicap, but if microsoft really continues(or has already done so, I don't know) the features of being able to play online from your pc against xbox 360 players, a lot of frustration will come from xbox 360 shooter players... Gears of War and Halo 3 etc. wouldn't be the same if pc players and xbox360 players played together. I myself am going to wait for the ps3 to first come out here(which is march 23th ><) and than I'll wait for the price to drop I think ps3 is the best console for me, considering my roommate already has a wii, so party fun is already present in the house. Titles as god of war 3 and final fantasy XIII are reason enough for me to buy ps3... the price is just not smart, since we all know it could've been a lot lower... that's the only big flaw... as for internet gaming mentioned in the song, what was that about? Since we don't have ps3's around here, I don't know about it internet capabilities, but internet play on the ps2 worked perfectly fine for me. Anyone who can explain what the singer was talking about?

PS3 has free internet access, but right now it does not have the Xbox live feature of checking if your friends are online. Personally, I don't give a shit. If I wanted to play multiplayer with friends, i'd call them over. Or if I was in a clan... well, clans are meant for PC games.

Hmm, as far as I've seen, you can keep track of your friends and clans in the games themselves. At least, that's the way it was for every multiplayer game I played on the ps2... there were friendlists and clanlists etc. Sure you had to start the game before checking it but if you wanted to go and play the game anyway it wouldn't matter anyway. Besides it only costs a minute... xbox live costs money :/

Xbox live is just allot more convenient. You can, for example, log in and check what your friends are online, and if they are, what games they are playing. I know I've looked and seen people I know playing Halo 2 which has caused me to think "Yeah... I could go for a little Halo 2 right now..." Rather than putting every online game I have in the system to check if anyone's on or not.
Plus allot of those games didn't have any kind of lobby feature, meaning you could ONLY play with your friends... I'm sorry, but I like being able to test out my skills against random people across the globe.
I'm in dislike of the PS3, simply for it's cost and it's Blue Ray fumble. I've few other qualms with the system personally. The Wii is good fun, and I admit, like with the GameCube, I bought one on the sole pretense that when Smash Brothers comes out, I'll be hooking it up to play for years to come. Xbox 360? It's a nifty console with some good games. The only issue I have with it is that the predominant fan base is American jocks and 12 year old kids who think the robotic masker makes them sound older.
