To be honest, I chose the other choice out of weirdness...
I want us to be the new XinRP1, but at the same time, I want us to be a little more independent, not largely influenced by Xin but the circumstance of the system, you know?
We should not be known as "XinRP1", we should be known as something entirely new, and the old term will just be a reference to our connection to Lifepoint1.

While we will certainly be a "Xin Board" I think the way we play and our story progression seperate us significantly from the Xin flash and also the name.

I vote for the general Lifepoint1 bored.

My vote goes towards keeping the name. It brings in new members using the popularity of the flash and tells them vaguely what to expect when they get here. I believe that our RPing is what sets us apart, and it will speak for itself.

We could get some shit from pro-boards if we're not significantly different. We're created because the old site is being deleted rememeber, and if we are the same site this site will be killed just as quickly.
New name is probably not an option, but a neccessity from a political standpoint.
Maybe thats just my future profession talking, but the best way to stay out of court is not get sued in the first place.

But wouldn't we get the exact same shit if and when they found out we're pretty much the same site with a different storyline and without the porn?

They say differences is what sets us apart. Id say keep the same name.

You seem to think that they'll take the time to discern that the site is different. They are an administrativbe body, and reworking the site after it has just been shut down is a direct difiance to thier authority.
It doesn't matter if this site will facilitate the second coming of Christ, they'll shut it down without even inspecting.

Okay then, what should we change the name to? As you said, it's the only option, but the board is still about the general Xin universe, hence the name. Though I admit I may be completely misunderstanding certain arguements, in which case I apologise

There's no way (if I'm correct) to change the link name itself, however, we have changed the "Official" name. It's Hircine High now, so while we may have a similar link name, we are "officially" Hircine High.
I personally doubt they'll delete us now, considering the old Xin board is officially dead. They could have been the benefactor behind that deletion, and the job is complete... or it could have been MJ, and the Proboards folks will realize that we committed digital suicide.
Either way, King is right. The safest bet right now is to continue onward, but to save your bios and all our information in case they do delete us. If this board link dies, connect with everyone ASAP, and we'll figure out what's up.
In the meantime, we're working to replace the now-dead XinRP1 as the official XinRP1: Hircine High. Liam's going to be sending a letter to Steven and Max later on tonight, and we'll see if we're accepted.
So until then folks, kick back, relax, grab some friends to join us, and celebrate!

But King's point still stands that they'll most likely be looking at the official link name. All they have to see is "xinrp1" in the link name and the site's deleted, I'd presume.

Actually, the old site didn't have the one in it....so I doubt they'll actually care if the link is accurate. I think we're safe as long as we keep the sites base name different.
One problem down, lets move on.
