All right, now to clear up the events of what led us all down this path, and why the hell all of you are registering to a new XinRP1. I'll be telling this from my perspective, so any Moderators and Staff that would like to add in what happened in their eyes, please unlock and do so. However, let's keep this locked; it's best for cleanliness. If you must converse this, make another thread.
Now, on to the point.
As of last night, I logged onto Xin Roleplaying (I think which should be now recognized as "Varron Roleplaying") and saw that my friend Kira Karyuudo was logged on. Since I haven't talked to her in a while, I logged onto MSN and committed to my intention. As soon as I logged on, she told me of a series of events that had occurred the night before.
As it turns out, the former Co-Admin of Varron Roleplaying, Taiku Akimoto, wrote another chapter to his artwork storyline of "Hold on Hope", which deals with his character, Kazuki Shinato. He wrote this latest chapter without any intention of harm or insult, merely intending to write a piece of work (if you need to see this piece yourself, you'll find it in our Artwork section). Now, supposedly the Main Admin of Varron Roleplaying, known to many as MJ, was offended from the fact that in this chapter Taiku did not recognize her IC character Victoria Alexander as his future wife, and therefore demoted him to Newbie Supervisor (the equal of Moderator on that site).
This action was a clear abuse of Admin power, and when Taiku and others attempted to ask why MJ demoted him, she at first reluctantly admitted that she was hurt that Kazuki did not end up with Victoria, before stating that their fate was not the reason, and that the real reason would be revealed the next day.
At the same time, a person that shall remain anonymous revealed to the Proboards Company - the providers of the Varron Roleplaying website, as well as ours - that MJ was drawing pornographic artwork, had been doing so for the past two years, and noted that such artwork was openly against Proboard's Terms of Service protocol. Normally such actions would be answered by the main Admin of a site being required to delete the artwork, but since the work was from the Admin herself, the only legitimate reaction would be the board being deleted.
Therefore folks, the reason we are all here is because of MJ. Her artwork, while amazingly impressive, has been against Proboards rules since day one. She knew this the entire time, never expecting any of us to read the Terms of Service, and finally one of our members came up and spoke.
When I was told of this from Kira that someone had reported the board, I began talking to Shamino Warhen about our options. He said that the only way to save Varron Roleplaying from complete deletion was to send an email to Proboards.
I attempted; they didn't have an email. I registered to their support site and sent private messages to one of their staff. They told me that no matter what, if the Admin was the artist, the board would have to be deleted. Proboards does not have Moderating power over board Admins. The only power they have is pulling the plug.
So all in all, our former board, Varron Roleplaying, has two fates: complete deletion, or salvation. But considering the arguments against MJ - considering the caller also added notices about her abusive Admin attitude - I highly doubt there is any chance of Varron Roleplaying to survive.
Therefore, those of us who got together - Taiku, Kira, Maverik, Gilsin, Mayon, Kyukaku, Pain Killer, Ran, Fenrir (Wolf), Jack and myself - began working on ideas for the new storylines. Maverik instantly went to work on creating this board, while the rest of us, some arriving later than others, slowing put together ideas on how we'd explain the new board. These ideas will be discussed and suggested later on, in a separate thread.
Either way, what has resulted in a new board based on the Flash of Xin, one that is an exact sequel to Varron Roleplaying, with the openness to allow RPers from the old board to return to this board with the same history and characteristics. The only difference is the location and the Administrator: Taiku Akimoto. MJ will not have any power here, considering she is the one at fault for our loss of Varron. We rule this board, not her.
So, everyone from the old board is invited, no matter what. The rules will be very similar, the style similar as well. There will be a few changes, but in the end, the only difference is the setting. A new city, a new place, a new school and a new environment. Let live the new age my friends! Let us make this new board greater than the last! Let us be successful and thankful that this New Board is finally here!
I apologize to those who have lost all your work. I wish this never had to happen; I wish MJ could have simply stepped down, or that we could have simply ignored her as we did before. But we must work with what we have, and this board is the result.
Thank you, and I hope you enjoy Xin Roleplaying.
Oh, and note, we need to work on getting a new name for the board. I have no intention of calling it "Xin Roleplaying", and neither should any of you. Let's be creative people! OOH RAH!
