(OOC: Bastard.)
Kyukaku had gained some leverage, and so he would keep hammering any opening he had. He'd repeat this until Adam would let go, that was his strategy. What was surprising, was that Pain Killer seemed to let go after the first few strikes. Kyu's hand was knocked free as he swung his knee up again, confused as he struck air.
As soon as he felt the pressure let up from his arm, Kyukaku kicked his legs straight over his head, pushing himself into a quick hand stand that continued til he flipped himself back onto his feet. Kyu instantly got into his usual loose karate stance, though he shook his right arm to get the blood back flowing rather than leave it by his jaw as usual.
While his tactics wouldn't be to jump right into close quarter combat with Adam again, Kyukaku was ready to keep the action going. It had been a while since he had been angered in a fight, and now he was forcing himself to channel it rather than burst forward to try and pummel Adam like he wanted to. Instead, Kyu held his stance, bringing his gaze up at Adam as the larger man spoke.
"...What?"
Kyukaku hissed, hesitating another moment before standing straight up. There was some distance now in case Adam tried to attack him, but Kyukaku didn't think Adam would try that. He fought dirty, but he fought proudly. Waiting for the answer to his question, Kyukaku furrowed his brow, leaving the anger to display on his face.

OOC: You know you love it.
IC:
"You heard me."
With a heavy sigh, Adam shook his head, dropping his hands into the pockets of his trenchcoat. It had been one of the few times he didn't bother to take the thing off, which in a subtle way, showed his lack of commitment to seeing this fight through to the end. Of course, Pain Killer had no real desire to close the distance between himself and Kyukaku, as it was clear to him the fact that the kid was still pumped up and ready to fight, which was a good sign.
"I just figured I'd see for myself if you'd last against a real fighter, and since you've got that whole 'I'm such a hero' thing goin' on, I had to make sure I'd fight the real you. I've seen some of the crap you've put up with, and next year you're not going to have the luxury of having all your buddies watch your back."
Adam looked away, not comfortable with the fact that he was actually admitting Kyu had any skill whatsoever, even if he had done it in a negative fashion. While he wouldn't say that he cared whether the younger man was pissed at him for any length of time, he figured that Mya would be furious if he didn't at least explain himself afterwards, or so the reasoning went in his mind. The Senior took a step back, turning his body halfway as he went to leave, before looking back over his left shoulder.
"But I'm sure you'll do fine. There's no one at that school who could beat me, and you didn't lose this fight."

As Adam continued to speak, Kyukaku's anger would begin to dissipate from his features as he became more confused and eventually, curious. In response to the larger man's body language, Kyukaku relaxed his arms, finally standing all the way back up straight and much more naturally. As Adam finished talking, Kyukaku's face slowly returned to its angry features. While not in the same mood as before, Kyukaku's face showed the frustration of his self-righteous anger.
"You're saying this was all just a test?" Kyukaku asked, taking one step forward as his hands turned palm up to emphasize the body language.
The question was rhetorical, but if Adam chose to answer it Kyukaku wouldn't tell him so. Despite his frustration with being a pawn of Adam's for the moment (something depressing enough given the larger man's thought process compared to say, Stern's), Kyukaku had felt the urge to poke fun at Pain Killer, letting him know he really understood. Still, the man's pride was high and to poke fun for admitting he cared about Kyu's well-being could, well, be bad for the said well-being. Instead, Kyukaku simply acknowledged that Adam was admitting they were friends, in his own depressing way.
"Hold up." Kyukaku started, cocking an eyebrow as he stopped Adam from leaving just yet. Assuming Adam would turn around, Kyukaku would begin unbuttoning his overshirt, beginning to remove it, revealing his tight red T-shirt. As he talked, he would removed the shirt, throwing it to the side as he finished.
"You know...I didn't win it either. Not yet."

Pain Killer paused as he heard Kyu's not-so-subtle challenge, his head tilting forwards as a grin began to spread across his face. Despite his best efforts, Adam couldn't help but start laughing, not so much at the fact the kid wanted to keep fighting, but rather, what he knew his answer would be. It was absurd, coming from him, yet after a moment or two, he managed to calm down enough to respond.
"No, you didn't. But today's not your day, kid. I don't feel like fighting you right now, especially since you're distracted by all these 'personal problems' or whatever. You'll get your chance to add on to your losing streak soon enough, I'm sure, just make sure you're completely ready to fight."
His hands dropped into his pockets, Adam taking this moment to take a small pause before continuing.
"This is hardly the setting for a good brawl. And next time, I won't go easy on you."
Still grinning, the self-proclaimed Pain Killer continued on his path to walk away, not even pausing to listen to what Kyu's response would be, if any. As much as he hated to admit it, he was looking forward to meeting up with his former roommate again, as he'd only gotten better with time. At last, it seemed he was starting to become worthy of fighting.

Alright. Today's officially a weird day. This whole confrontation had Kyukaku confused from the beginning, and just when he thought he understood Adam, he threw another curve ball. For the first time in almost two years, Pain Killer had told Kyukaku he didn't feel like fighting. He always felt like fighting! As he turned down the challenge, Kyukaku grew dissapointed. Upon realizing he was dissapointed, he grew excited. The original reason he came here was to do some sort of soul searching or whatever. Kyukaku was itching to get back into the good 'ole fisticuffs again with Pain Killer, and that was a feeling he hadn't had for a while. He'd been dreading all fights, wanting to take that backseat to all the action. In just several minutes, it all turned around. "You better make sure that doesn't happen. If you do, you won't be able to keep up with me." Kyukaku flashed a smirk, refusing to let Adam have the last word. Although he knew he heard him, Adam pretended he didn't and simply kept walking. Kyukaku turned the other way, walking a few steps though not quite leaving the area yet. Kyukaku's first taste of the Varron-Hircine lifestyle came from Adam Rydell and Aryck Venn. It was only rational that the same idealism and the same adrenaline rush would come from Adam yet again. Kyukaku smiled, the nostalgic feeling of Adam's antagonism flooding back to his head. Guess its time to play hero again.--- End of Thread ---
