It was early on a Saturday morning, the sun itself had just fully made it over the horizon and a deep chill was still in the air but neither the cold nor the time would detour Kazuma from his one real day of speed training. His bike pulled up to the empty parking lot of the beach, he had no doubt it would soon fill up but he knew he wouldn’t have to worry about actual beach goers for several more hours, at this time he knew all he had to worry about was a few joggers and maybe several other people doing some type of training like himself and of course the extreme surfing freaks.
Dismounting himself from his bike he walked over to the small sidecar that he normally always had attached to it, leaning against it he undid his red wing boots and the buckle to his belt. Kicking off his boots and slipping out of his heavy jeans he reached into an open gym bag in the sidecar and pulled out a long pair of grey shorts and pulled them on, next was an old pair of New balance sneakers which were horribly worn out and filled with sand, he dropped them on the ground and slipped his size 15 feet into the sneakers there pre-tied elastic laces stretching out the contracting tight again, eliminating the need to tie and untie them constantly. With that he then pulled his tee shirt over his head and threw it in the sidecar with the rest of his clothing and pulled out from his bag a long sleveed white under armor shirt which he pulled over his head.
Taking a breath he gave out a sigh as he looked at the very bottom of his sidecar, he was about to gain 120 lbs and the thought of it made his skin crawl no matter how much he had gotten used to wearing the extra weight. Both of his monsterous hand reached down and pulled out a large bulky navy blue 60lb weight training vest, slipping in one arm he then gave it a swing around his back and looped his other arm into it and secured it with the plastic buckle on it’s front. From this vest hung a series of straps hanging from the shoulders which reached to about his forearm and straps hanging from his waist which reached down to the middle of his calf. Reaching back down he began to grab the rest of the weights which he would soon don.
Within 5 minutes he had his entire training suite together, on each of his legs he wore 20lb leg weights and on each of his arms he wore 10lb wrist weights, all of which were buckled to the straps of the vest for added security and stability. Seeing him like this many would think he was a bit crazed but his training like this had started shortly after he moved to Varron within the confines of the scrap yard he had once called home. When he was not in school or about in the city he could often be seen like this even while doing his regular weight training, it was this kind of training that had not only helped him put on an extra 10 lbs of lean muscle but had also helped in his speed increase dramaticly.
Now that he was ready he began his walk onto the sand, the now 440lb monster of flesh and iron stumbling every few seconds as the loose sand near the parking lot and boardwalk kept giving way to his weight. This was why his target destination was the firmer sand right next to the shore, it was there that he would be able to get his mile run in without fear of being brought down by bad footing. He was a decent runner when it came to sprinting and endurance running, not the fastest but he was always able to get a mile in 13 minutes without his weights. With his added burden though it was now taking him up to 23 minutes at his fastest but it was an improvement compared to when he first started and it took him nearly 30 minutes to accomplish this distance.
He got down to the shore he could already feel his legs begin to ach from trying to keep his balance on the way down here. Already he saw some people on the sand but could not make out their faces, they all seemed to be here for the same reason he was though many of them were only beginning to stretch out. Getting in position he reached into his shorts and grabbed a multi purpose stop watch, as soon as he pressed start it would begin to record the distance he ran and as soon as it would hit one mile he would stop and check his time.
Digging his right foot into the ground he mental spoke to himself (Ready, Set) His thumb hit the start button (GO) pushing off with tremendous force he began to run at a full sprint
