Junpei Lee stood on the roof of the new school, his first time up here actually. It wasn't like Varron with it's walled roof, no this one was actually quite bare of anything except white roofing tiles and tack paper in places tile shad cracked or fallen out of place. He looked around and noted the door that led here, no need to lose it. Turning back to face the front of Hircine Junpei sighed audibly, it was just after school, he had asked Darren, with a message in the office, to meet him here. There was something he wanted to discuss with the man, something important.
In his right hand was a simple manila envelope; contained within was a short three page report, simply titled The Crown Report . Within this report, which Junpei had spent all of winter break compiling, was a list of information on one person. He had used an old tactic of his, one he hadn't used in a while, it had almost cost him his ISP and four hundred dollars to get this, but now he had it and he wasn't worried about it, well not about getting it at least. He was very worried about how to present this, and how to not come off as a stalker. Well he was in a sense, stalking out the school's top dogs and trying to befriend, or at least reach neutral ground with them. Ay the top of that list was Darren, a man whom Junpei had a certain amount of admiration for.
Many a Varronite might think him a traitor for actually admiring a Hircinian, much less the head Hircinian. But in a sense Junpei thought of Darren as a man he could respect for his leadership. He had single handedly turned the tied of this school. Another Varron had become the shining example of the system; another fighter paradise had become a ‘regular’ high school again. It was something Junpei had dreamed of coming to Varron under Leon’s Captainship, and maybe even his own later on, but it hadn’t occurred and now Varron was gone.
Now he waited, he waited for Darren to show up so he could hand this and show him what he had found, show him what he had learned of his new Captain. Yes Junpei considered him HIS captain. He WAS a Hircinian now. He would follow Darren if he found him to be someone Junpei thought was the best for this school, who could turn his fellow Varronites into respectable students again, and who could lead effectively without resorting to labeling not only Junpei but all of Varron’s Transfers. Junpei was running the edge of the sword, on one side lay Hircine and its Captain, on the other stood Varron and his ties to the past. If he slipped.. he might end up a man divided.

"Um, Darren, sir...?" The male receptionist caught sight of the Captain as he was leaving class for the day, ready to go back to his dorm to kick back and forget he was captain for at least a minute or two.
With a small sigh, Darren turned on his heel to walk into the office, casually putting his hands down on the desk and leaning forward to speak to the one who'd called his name.
"You are twenty-two years old, there's no need to call me sir. What is it?" Darren didn't even give the rather meek man a chance to defend his actions, skipping straight into whatever it was the man had called him in for.
"Well, a student came by a bit earlier... he wanted to, um, speak with you, he said, to meet him on the roof of the place as soon as possible. I don't know why he'd want to meet you on the roof, of all the ridiculous places, but-"
"It's where they would always go, I hear."
"What?"
"The roof. Varronites were fond of spending time, fighting, or what-not on the roof of their school. I don't understand it, myself."
"So, then I don't have to tell you he's-"
"No, it's quite obvious exactly where he's from. And likely what he wants, as well."
Turning on his heel, Darren gave the receptionist the cold shoulder, more out of irritance at the general situation than anything, and walked out the door. As it were, his destination had been changed. No longer would he be in store for a bit of relaxation, but now he would have to meet up with yet another Varronite. This was becoming a disturbance he was growing to despise, and his tolerance was running thin.
Before long, the door opened, and Darren strode out onto the roof. Spotting the only other one out there, oddly enough, the same one from before, who was carrying the injured student. Wasting no time, Darren readied himself for a fight, his eyes never leaving the student in question.
"I want to go home, so let's make this quick. Is it for my title this time, or for your honor?"

"Your title isn't what I'm after Darren, it's your understanding."
Junpei turned on his heel and looked at Darren, the envelope never leaving his hand. He took a step forward and put a scant five feet between the two of them, and smiled, oddly enough. This was his chance to show Darren that he wasn't someone who was untrustworthy or even an enemy, but someone who wanted to help and to find a way to fit in. He wasn't a fighter, he wasn't a killer, he wasn't a typical Varronite. What Junpei was was himself, a person who wanted the best he could give for everyone.
“What I wanted was to give you this.”
He said handing out the envelope for Darren, who would open it and look over the papers as Junpei continued speaking.
“You may find it a bit odd that someone like me would go to the trouble of collecting this… and then hand it over without a second thought. Well… to be honest I admire you Darren, not only for what you’ve done for this school but for what you did as a person.”
Junpei let Darren read on a bit more, letting him get the full brunt of what was within this document.
“I don’t know what you did to get this school under control Darren, but whatever you did you did a helluva job. I wish I could have seen this at Varron… but that’s in the past now.”

Junpei's answer did not bring any change in Darren's posture or readiness. He'd seen sneak attacks before, and would expect no less from a Varronite, especially. Even when Junpei closed the distance, and smiled at Darren, the School Captain merely held his ground, not returning the smile with anything but a set glare. It was only when Junpei finally held out the manila folder did Darren do anything. All he really did, however, was avert his gaze from Junpei's eyes to the folder, for a full half-minute, before finally reaching out and taking the paper, loosening up his stance, but remaining on guard as he opened it up and skimmed the papers, reading all of the information that he (obviously) already knew. Junpei kept talking, and Darren only listened half-heartedly, more intent on scanning the paper in front of him, and assuming that whatever Junpei was saying wasn't terribly important, in the first place.
All he was hearing from the student was typical brown-nosing, anyway. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em, was the usual saying, and it seemed this one had plunged headlong into the latter.
Returning the paper to it's envelope, about halfway done scanning through all the information, considering that the point itself had been made VERY early on in the document, Darren looked up to catch the last few sentences of Junpei's diatribe in full.
"Did you think I would find this impressive, that you could find so much information about me?" Darren's reply was short and pointed. After all, compared to what Darren had, this little bit of information was minute. Ever so minute indeed.
Deciding at the last minute that his question should remain rhetorical, Darren continued. "Varron is in the past for that very reason: There was no way what happened could have happened at Varron. Your leadership was weak, your students as pathetic and corrupt as your staff, and your captain, well... the fact that I know nothing about him proves his insignificance, ergo, my point."
Darren eyed Junpei for a reaction before continuing on a bit longer. "You say you admire me, I ask you this: Why? Your kind and I tend not to agree on many, many matters, you know." Darren's usual commanding presence shone through as usual, charging the conversational situation with a rather tense atmosphere.
Junpei would likely have to watch his words to keep on Darren's good side.

Brown-nosing he was not, trying to keep on that razors edge he was, however Darren made it hard not to lash out and defend his old school. He held tied there yes, to Leon Loire, to many people who actually tried to help. Dain, Leon, even MJ had done good for that school. They had put the students first and their power second. He felt like lashing out and attacking Darren, but he restrained himself, let his anger flow out of him and adjust to his new environment. Here violent action would result in a quick beating, easy lesson to learn.
Darren continued on, for what seemed like minutes, maybe less, but it was hard to listen to none the less. He openly insulted Leon and Dain, he called what he had worked towards a failure. It was mind you, but hearing it is always harder to stand. It sank in, slowly, that commanding presence he had noted in the document coming to full light. Junpei held his ground, let no emotion pass his face, he was using his memories of at least trying as his footing.
"Because, you did what I could not. You excelled where I failed, and above all... you did it without putting your faith in someone else. You may think I’m just doing this to get on your good side, to slip in and become another Hircinian. That's far from true Captain, far from true. I consider myself both and Hircinian, and a Varronite."
He stopped for a second, scanning Darren's face for any emotion, any reaction to what he was saying.
"I am trying to gain your trust so I can help my fellow students Darren. I'm sick of fighting, I’m sick of all the senseless violence, and I’m sick of all this damn hatred. Where’s it getting us? Back to square one every damn day. In the end someone holds a grudge and someone gets hurt and someone ends up loosing. It's the way the world works I know, but you, as a Captain of both Varronites and Hircinians, could show those new students that although we may have a bad reputation, not all of us should be grouped together as one body. There are good people inside us Varronites, there are people who only want to live and see the end of their high school days. Yes, there are those who would see you taken out of power, who would take power for greed and want, not for the good of the students."
He turned slightly, facing out to the front of the school again.
"You're this schools Captain, you hold the respect and trust of the Hircinians.. their is no one to guide the majority of the Varronites... I’m asking you to remember that when you deal with us..."

"You want to stop the fighting. So stop fighting."
Darren's eyes wavered not, and he kept the same set expression throughout Junpei's little spiel. It was a noble cause, at best, but Darren knew full well what the road to Hell was paved with. Refusing to soften, and not really caring to, anyway, Darren considered leaving, but before moving, decided to elaborate a bit further on what he had said before taking his leave.
"Lead by example. Do what the rest of the students here do, learn to live peacefully. Others of your kind will learn in due time. Then, perhaps, I won't only be Hircine's School Captain."
Darren let the thought end abruptly, as he turned on his heel and went back towards the door, looking to leave the way he came in, leaving Junpei alone to mull over what had just been told of him.
