In a move very much unlike his usual character, Adam Rydell stood in line, waiting patiently for his turn to pick up his food. Gone was the usual anger, the arrogance, replaced instead with thoughtfulness. As the line shifted forward, step by step, the self-proclaimed Pain Killer's thoughts began to wander, drifting back to the events that had happened in Varron.
Trent's return... Mya's disappearence... These things are connected, I know it... It could be no mere coincidence that both his long-thought deceased kin had managed to find him so close to each other. While he highly doubted that Mya was aligned with his psychotic older brother, the fact remained that it was still suspiscious, especially to his already paranoid nature. And yet, now she was gone, taken from his apartment during the daylight hours while he was at work. The middle of the day! How could no one have seen!? How could...
"Hey, man. Move along. I'm hungry!"
The annoyed tone snapped Adam out of his thoughts, momentarily at least, as he noticed a good sized gap in the line. Muttering to himself, he moved forwards, grabbing a large sized box of fries and a Coke. His hands released the currency needed, putting a dent in the meager funds he'd managed to scrape together before being forced to leave Varron to come here, San Francisco. A city he had no concept of, containing a school that, for the most part, was much different from Varron's. The last born Rydell took his food to an empty table, not trusting the hostile looks he was getting from nearly all the students. He could only assume from the student assembly that the existing student body wasn't exactly thrilled at the new arrivals, something he could certainly understand. After all, Varron had held some of the biggest and baddest in the country.
Sighing, he dropped the tray on the table, sitting at the end of the bench, his back resting against the wall. He brought his legs up, resting them on the seat next to him, the unspoken message clear: he expected no one to sit near him, and didn't particularly want anyone to sit near him either. Absently munching on his fries, he couldn't help thinking about what he'd left behind in Varron. His job, his apartment. Pan. After all that work, she's gone. The thought was depressing, to say the least, though there was very little he could do about it. He had no idea what Varronites had been moved with him to this particular school, and who was left behind. Hell, she doesn't even go to the school...
That's it! That's how I can tell if she's here!
The thought struck him all at once, the sudden inspiration causing a grin to form on his face. He would simply do the same thing he had planned on since winning the tournament a few months ago, something that had been impossible before as there was no clear target to take the title from. He would climb to the top of the student hierarchy, becoming a face that all would notice. Then, he would get Pan's attention if she were here. Even if she wasn't, he would still be considered top dog in the school, and be much closer to achieving his destiny.
"School Captain... shouldn't be too hard."

William stood in the line, waiting for ages it seemed, when the students ahead of him said something that made him look over his head and saw another large student stop the entire line of hungry people by looking into the air. William shook his head and ignored it for now, the matter had been dealt with, and luckily without any violence involved. The student had been a Varronian after all; they might kill you without giving it a second though. Or so his speak with Junpei had left him thinking. He grabbed what every wanted. A burger. He wasn’t extraordinary hungry. So he ordered two burgers more. Money dropped on the desk, his father had been generous and given him more money for lunch than usual. Hooray. When walking away with his tray filled with burgers he searched for an empty seat. And his first search went out to find any free spots next to a lovely girl. When none were found, he went for interesting spots to sit at. And found a table entirely free, except a very lone Varronian sitting by it. Quickly deciding that he needed to know more, much more, from more than one source.
He sat down at the table. His massive frame sitting down directly opposite of the lone wolf. Probably unwanted by the other one. He grabbed the first of his burgers and started the slow but sure devastation of it. Once he had devoured half of it he looked up to the other student. He raised an eyebrow and asked the question that many Varronians had gotten recently. It would put BK in the same booth as many of the other students in Hircine.
“Why are you here?”
That was all he said before munching on his burger again. While waiting for the reaction the other one would give to his question. He by the gods hoped it wouldn’t be in the form of an incoming fist for his head. Then he would be involved in a fight, and that was about the last thing he wanted from this. But a provocative starting question often proved the most fun.

OOC: Short, sorry. But, Pain's not much for conversation at first.
IC:
His eyes looked up, catching sight of the student who, amazingly enough, was even larger than the self-proclaimed Pain Killer himself. Even Varron had been hard pressed to find someone larger than him, and it was much more likely to contain the biggest and baddest students of all. As the student sat down, it became obvious that there would be no immediate violence, and as such, gave the former Varron student little cause to worry. Instead, he simply remained silent, enjoying his fries and the quiet around him. However, even such good things came to an end, and this moment was no exception, as the Hircine student popped the question on everyone's mind.
"Because it's where I was told to go. What's it to you?"
His meal forgotten, Adam turned his head to face the newcomer completely. It would be the first time he's been spoken to without open hostility since arriving at Hircine, and as such, it was the first time he'd given an actual response, rather then sarcasm or lack of answering at all. Still, there was a good deal of hostility left in his voice, a natural dislike inherent in him given the reaction he'd been given since coming here.

"So, if I told you to leave the school for good. Would you do that?"
He said before looking up at the other student again. He completely disregarded his question, no hostility in his voice, he had grown from that after his chat with Junpei where he had learned the worst of the worst. Just have to seize the day. Carpe Diem. He had a good feeling what the other one would respond to his question. Puzzling why BK found himself here, trying to talk to one of the recent transfers who had proved to be a violent bunch from the different sources around school. He had a gang leader to find later. But, first things first.
"A much better question would be, what do you plan to do here? Turn it into another Varron, a paradise for fighters? Or the alternative, try and adapt to the new society and contribute with whatever you can?"
He lifted up the burger again and took a bite of it. He had to compliment the staff. They knew how to make burgers well, and every bite left him longing for another bite. And at some point he knew that it would be gone. Good things never lasted long. He placed the burger on the table, not with ease though, as he immediately felt a need to take another bite. He savoured the taste in his mouth. God he loved there burgers. The other kid seemed half hostile to him, yet not hostile in some other way. BK would have to figure that out at some point. While he were at it, he should get the others name at some point.

"No. I came, because the school invited me here. I need to graduate somewhere, might as well be here."
Pain Killer shrugged his shoulders, unconcerned with where this conversation was going. From what he could tell, this student seemed just genuinely curious about Varron students, rather than instantly hating the newcomers to the school. While Adam certainly didn't want to seem like someone who gave out information for free, it had been a while since he'd had a normal conversation with someone, and so, he let it slide. Casually, he plopped another fry into his mouth, chewing silently as he listened to the next questions that spawned from the being in front of him.
"I'm not here to change or support anything. Except for the title of School Captain, of course, but that's for personal reasons, not for some 'greater good'."
Kid's just full of questions... Of course, Adam had little doubt that the student in front of him would be somewhat interested to hear that someone new was out to challenge the School Captain. After all, from what he'd heard recently in the school, the Captain hadn't had any disputes over the title in a long, long time. Apparently, his system worked. Whatever system it was, however, mattered little to the Senior student. For his goals to be completed, he needed to remove the Captain from his lofty perch, and take the title for himself.

"Interesting.”
Was the one word reply BK gave the other one. A personal reason for getting the title. Were there any other reasons? He doubted the other one would simply ask nicely for the title, and he also doubted he would have any success at convincing the other one that his actions would be wrong. He had already deemed this person as one of the fighters who would turn this school into a hell. He leaned back on the chair and took a better glance at the other one. He was almost as large as him, judging from how high they sat in the chairs, a little less buff. A strong man in any case. He kept his eyes upon him and for the first time let a smile cross his lips.
“It doesn’t even surprise me. Do the hopeful aspirant for the title have a name?”
He looked down at the burger again, and it looked very tempting as it were right now. It was almost gone, only two or three more bites left, and then he could start on the other burgers on his pile. Though, he might want to eat those at some other place. Unless Mr Anonymous on the other side started to lighten up a little bit. BK still felt like getting a better explanation from him, if he got the name, he would ask in on the personal matter. But not until he had a name to check up on. Maybe with Junpei or someone else.

"You know, it's only polite for someone who is asking for another's name to give their own first."
The words came out in a relatively rude manner, though less hostile than before. It seemed, slowly but surely, Pain Killer was beginning to tolerate this one's presence more and more, his trust beginning to build as he turned his head to face forwards again, no longer looking at William. Instead, his gaze roamed across the other students, watching them all yet not truly seeing them. Instead, he was simply pausing for a moment, giving the other student to catch the hint and introduce himself first. Regardless, after a few moments, he would answer the question anyway.
"Adam Rydell. The self-proclaimed 'Pain Killer'. I doubt you've heard of me."
It was true, he hadn't exactly been well known in Varron. His legend hadn't been born yet, his reputation for being worth something not quite formed. And yet, in an entirely new school, it was his chance to start over. To do things differently. Without Her, and wthout Trent. He looked back to the other student, thinking for a moment, before coming up with a question of his own.
"Is it usually this... peaceful, here? It's nothing like I'm used to."

“I wasn’t under the impression we were being polite, but fairrr enough, I am William, but call me BK.”
He said calmly and took another bite of his delicious burger. While in his head crying at the thought that there would be even less to eat later. The other one revealed his name. Adam Rydell. Or, for the dramatic effect. Pain Killer. In any case, he didn’t have any plans for testing that self-proclaimed name. Wouldn’t fit into his nature of being a nice guy, and that would jeopardize everything he wanted to do to end the threat before they started harming the school. Peaceful? Around here? Well, BK could see and feel the tensions from some of his classmates, due to the new influx of students. Though he could still enjoy the peace that were, at least no open rivalries arose and ended in a fight.
“Yeah, pretty much. The peace is rarely shattered, and when it is. It is only due to a food fight. Those are pretty fun though. Oh, and I hope you get used to it, since I hope it stays this way…”
He ate the rest of the burger, in two mighty bites and it was down his throat. And he was down a third of his dinner portion. That wasn’t good. Then again, without Adam, then he would have been through them all already, and be standing in the line for another tray of burgers. He loved the burger days.
