Name: J.T. (Joey Trueno)
Nationality: Half Italian and Half Cuban
Age: 17
Height: 6' 6
Weight: 220
Build: He is of medium build and has very good muscle tone. He is very athletic when it comes to basketball, football, and track. But despite these strengths, he tends to not be very good at any other sports. He guesses this to be because of his lack of practice with other sports.
Eye color: He has dark brown eyes that look hazel when in bright sunlight.
Hair: He has short, black hair. He will usually put small spikes at the top. It is usually kept very neat unless he has just finished a sporting event or has just gotten into a fight.
Habits: He has a tendency to be over aggressive when he is in a bad mood. He used to hold in his anger, but now he has begun letting it out quite often, in multiple forms. If he is sitting in the same chair for more than an hour he will often fall asleep which causes problems in class.
Other Information:
Personality: He makes a point to be courteous to people when he first meets them, unless of course the other person is sending hostile vibes toward him or he is in a bad mood that day. He likes to have many acquaintances but only has eight or nine friends that he likes to see outside school. He will not hesitate to interfere physically with anyone who does anything to mentally or physically harm his friends or family. Lately he has been getting a little more serious with his beatings as a result of his new influences. Although he doesn't agree with everything Kvist does, he looks up to him and respects him very much.
Appearance: He has tan skin and a clean face. He believes that clothes make the man and is always either wearing something nice (open short-sleeve button down shirt with an undershirt covering his chest. Nice pants and polished black shoes ) or something very casual (a slightly over-sized shirt with over-sized jeans and basketball sneakers that match what shirt he's wearing.) He has taken a liking to the color black lately and has been showing this through his clothing.
Hobbies: Basketball, football, going to the movies with his friends, going to the mall to buy new basketball shoes, practicing basketball with his little brother, watching basketball and football games on TV, lifting weights, exercising, fighting, and doing Kvist's bidding.
Extracurricular: He is the small forward in the school varsity basketball team and he takes it very seriously. He is also team captain for the school's varsity football team. Joey likes track, but fails to come to each meet due to his lack of seriousness towards it. He does not often do his schoolwork unless not doing it threatens his chances of getting into college. He would be better in school but he will fall asleep if he works his mind for over an hour without a break.
Important Details-
History: When Joey was four years old his Father, Ethan Jacobs, left them after beating his Mother, Emily Trueno. Although his Mother was alright physically, she had trouble making ends meet when she had to provide for both her and Joey. It was about this time that he and his other neighbors that were his age started going out to the public basketball court next to their apartment building. Out of all of the other four year olds, he was the only one who was able to make the ball into the ten-foot basket. Basketball soon became an obsession of his. By the age of five his Mother had already gotten remarried. Joey kept the same last name because he did not like his mother's new husband.
After five years, J.T.'s step-father had become a drunk leaving his mother with two more kids besides him. His new brother and sister were named Isabella Trueno and Mike Trueno. This happened when Joey was ten years old and seeing the new addition to his family suffer because one man didn't care about them made him a very angry young boy. He attempted to subdue his stress by joining a football team. It was then that he developed his love for that game as well.
As the years went on Joey Trueno grew further and further away from his mother. This is because he began disliking the drunk of a woman she had turned into. Although he still loved her, they fought almost everyday which added to Joey's stress on top of living in a terrible neighborhood.
Coming to Varron, Joey quickly made friends. These included Lance, Heishi, Stevo and a boy named Tyler. This was somewhat working out for him. Although he was working most of the time at this point, he still had time to hang out with them during his breaks. Out of all his friends, he had become closest to Tyler. For a fair amount of time, they spent their afternoons fighting gang members and saving people from larger bullies. It wasn't long, however, before Joey began doing things a little differently than Tyler. While he helped people for the thrill of the fight, Tyler would do it so that justice could be served. Little did either of them know that this would have a helping hand in tearing them apart.
One day Joey had noticed a flyer on a school bulletin board. It was advertising a gang called the Hand of Fate. Joey knew the ill nature of this gang, but felt a strange obligation to get with this gang. Finding the gang's leader, Kvist, Joey was excepted into the gang immediately, under the terms that the gang would take care of his money troubles. A couple days later, Joey was personally given a check containing a large sum of money. The next day Joey cashed the check and began to find a new home for his family. This was an easy task and Joey was able to get both a large house for his family and a good sized apartment for himself. At first they didn't fit in at all with the richer people and where estranged from everyone else in the neighborhood, but to Joey's satisfaction, his family have recently begun to spoil themselves.
Without the problems of working, Joey was now able to enjoy life and do the things he wanted to do. Kvist had done well to pay him, as Joey now had an undying loyalty toward the man.
A week after getting a new house, Joey's old friend Tyler decided to call him up and invite him to lunch. Arriving casually, he didn't quite know what it was his friend wanted. The conversation went sour the second Tyler mentioned Joey's joining of the Hand of Fate. Joey's friend didn't want him to stay with the gang. He said that Joey was making a mistake and should back out. When Joey didn't, the two lost their friendship.
Now Joey is having a happy life with his new friends. He gets into many more fights and has time to teach his little brother how to play ball. He has never rethought this decision, and doesn't plan to anytime soon. The only flaw in his life is the people who stand against his gang, among those people, is Tyler. Friends turned enemies, they both await the day they are forced against each other in battle.
Fighting Style: His Strength and Constitution make for a very good boxer. He also knows wrestling moves but he doesn't use them unless he doesn't think he can hold back. His techniques include
1) Jabs- The punch used when Joey is in need of a fast attack. Although much weaker than his other attacks, this punch can disorient the opponent for a short time if hit in the correct spot.
2) Blows- Full body punches to virtually any area the opponent has left open.
3) Blocks- He blocks his face and body by using his arms as shields.
4) Counter- He can counter many attacks by grabbing the limb that was thrown at him and throwing the person into (sometimes through) a wall, although simply picking someone up and throwing them is only used for the smallest enemies.
5) Bear hug- When angered, he may attempt to grab the opponent and squeeze the breath out of him/her. This technique has also been known to break bones if executed tight enough.
6) Kicks- he has been known to stomp on a fallen enemy if it comes down to it.
7) Counter #2- A second way that he can counter an attack, is by grabbing the limb thrown at him and breaking either the elbow or the knee cap off his opponent.
8) Misc.- He is good at improvising his attacks on the fly and will often do unexpected things when he is in a clutch.
Strengths: He can take many hits and is very strong. He also is a fast runner and can jump high (4 ft.). He has very good sight and can see most attacks because in basketball and football you have to be able to keep your eye on the ball. If the opponent gets him angry before or during a fight, he will begin to not care about that person's well-being and will resort to breaking bones in order to make his enemy feel as much pain as possible. Due to his large leg muscles, his opponents have a hard time sweeping him as well.
Weaknesses: Although he has very good eyes and is able to run quickly, his reflexes are not very fast because of his long limbs. The bad part of his anger is that when he goes to attack he will be much more hasty. This will leave him open for attack in many spots.
