Name: Darren Blayne
Nationality: American
Age: 16 1/2
Grade: Senior
Weight: 178 lbs.
Height: 6'1"
Build: Darren isn't exactly what one would call 'lanky', but he is borderline not proportional from his height to his weight. Because of this, Darren is rather well-built, his arms, legs and abs are all quite well-defined, yet, when fully clothed, one rarely is able to make that observation about him.
Eye color: Green, with no other striking characteristic about them.
Hair: A reddish blond color, or 'strawberry blond', if you will. It is kept relatively short, maybe a good three to four inches out from his scalp. However, it is always rather well-kept. Though rarely gelled and sculpted, Darren's hair is always clean and looks particularly well-groomed.
Habits: Darren's two biggest habits are his insistency upon keeping things fairly clean, and playing with pens. A regular neat-freak, Darren would seem to be suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, but that is not the case. He simply likes to keep things clean. As far as playing with pens, Darren always keeps at least one pen or pencil handy, and, when bored, which is usually the case, he can be found twirling a pen around his index finger with a flick from his middle finger over and over, a simple trick that actually requires quite a bit of manual dexterity as well as focus, or flipping it about through his four fingers, or any other sort of absent-minded device, short of chewing on them. (More on the clean factor in Personality.)
Personality: Darren is a rather quiet, calm, and sometimes even cold individual. The senior student is also very well-respected among Hircine High students as well as some staff members, as could be guessed from his title. As such, Darren is used to people listening to what he says, when he has to say things at all. Because of this, Darren tends to have an affinity for order. Everything has its place in Darren's world, which is why he likes to keep things clean and orderly. He's done much to keep what could easily devolve into rampant chaos at Hircine out of the way, leaving an almost peaceful school as a result.
Of course, he has also heard the rumors of the new students from the school in the east, and how Chaos seems to thrive about them. A fact, of course, which he is none too happy about.
Appearance: Darren is a fairly well-dressed individual, as he prefers that his fellow students look up to someone that's worth looking up to. He tends to wear lots of white, in what would be considered his spin-off of the no longer mandatory 'school uniform: A regular length white coat, light in weight, just a bit heavier than a regular overshirt, with gold buttons and red lining, and white slacks with a brown belt to hold them up. Underneath the jacket, however, is where Darren's suit begins to vary, as he will wear any kind of shirt underneath. Usually, however, he is a fan of v-neck shirts and tank tops of different colors, though usually in darker tones, with his two most often-worn colors being black and purple.
For shoes, he has a basic pair of white sneakers with a bit of black and red trim about them and white laces. Darren also wears a pair of glasses to correct his nearsighted vision.
Other than that, Darren's been known to carry a clipboard around, but not necessarily ALL the time. However, he does, as stated previously, constantly have pens on his person, at least one in a pocket somwhere, often in the breast pocket of his jacket.
Hobbies: Writing, organizing things, analyzing things, watching/listening to and critiquing movies/music. Basically the things you average high school kid with too much time and too much brainpower could be expected to do.
Extracurricular: Hircine High School Captain tends to take up most all of Darren's free time, so he leaves the extracurriculars for the other students.

History: Life for Hircine High's School Captain has not been too difficult.
Of course, for Darren Blayne, nothing has ever been too difficult.
Since his birth, the boy had possessed a remarkably high IQ, and was able to think on things and come to conclusions much quicker than other children. By the age of three, Darren was already reading, and by the age of five, he was reading junior novels and doing multiplication tables. It just seemed the boy was able to pick up on things quicker than anyone else of his age. His parents loved it, and his preschool teachers loved it, and all of the other students, naturally, hated it. Regardless, as he continued to grow, Darren's skills continued to flourish.
It was as such that Darren began his life in grade school, which was just mind-numbingly boring for the gifted student. Everything was beneath him, and he would finish assignments weeks ahead of time, simply because he could. Thus, the boy was always bored, and simply played with his pencil absentmindedly during most of his classes. It went on like this for three whole years, and none of his classmates found it amusing at all. In their juvenile minds, it just simply wasn't fair that while they had to work all the time, Darren got to just sit around and read a book, or play with his pens. Of course, they didn't understand that he'd already done the same work they were doing, just that much quicker, and if they did, they'd likely still be just as mad. Thus, some of the bigger, less forgiving students in the class often tried to do something about it.
Even in this theater, however, Darren still found things to be simple.
The bullies were slow, something Darren could tell even with his young mind. Thus, when they tried to attack him, the young boy simply moved away, tripping them up every time they tried to attack. They stood a good few inches over his head, and weighed at least fifteen to thirty pounds more than he did, but over all, he was unphased and unworried. With a playful, childish grin on his face, Darren continued to trip the bullies flat on their faces until they finally gave up. This would happen at least three times a week until third grade was finally over, whereupon Darren got the news he'd thought would finally help him overcome his boredom.
He was asked to skip fourth grade, and commence directly with the fifth grade.
Of course, unfortunately for the young student, things progressed much the same. Although the classes were indeed a bit more difficult, Darren still aced them with ease, and continued to be bored. This time around, however, not only were the class bullies in his new class upset about the fact that he never seemed to do any work in class, yet got in no trouble, they also carried within them the illogical dislike for the 'new kid' who 'wasn't one of them', since he was a year younger. As years progressed, however, and the corruption and dangerous atmosphere of public high schools began to loom ever closer, these schoolyard bullies became much more than angry chasing mobs. Darren began to get assaulted with more conventional forms of fighting.
All, of course, which he easily adapted to, fighting back using his mind and quickness, and forming the bases of the style he would use in high school even during his younger years.
High school came quickly, and Darren was thrust, one year earlier than he should have been, straight into the degrading social structure. Chaos reigned, small riots were not uncommon, and, all-in-all, Hircine High was not a place that anyone would want to go to. To Darren, however, it was just a lot more of the same. Teachers got along well enough with him, because he didn't rock the boat, students hated him even more because now, not only was he not doing anything in class, he was one of the few students who weren't getting their faces smashed into chalkboards or stuffed in lockers by the school faculty. Of course, more fights were had against him, more fights which he would always win, or escape mostly unscathed at the very least. Thus, despite his nature of keeping to himself, Darren began to gain a reputation.
With reputations, however, come more and more attention, both positive and negative.
People who were impressed with Darren started coming up to him, telling him how cool they thought he was, and how they liked how he took care of bullies all the time. Darren, by this point, however, had had enough interaction with everyone. After all, until now, every classmate or other student that had tried to interact with him were always trying to beat him into the ground for seemingly no reason. Thus, Darren never tried too hard to make friends, speaking to those who weren't trying to do him harm, but not bothering to get too close, having already realized that he was superior to most all of his classmates in almost every way, anyway. The faculty, meanwhile, would take Darren aside and speak to him privately. It seemed that, due to his prowess in fighting, and his extreme intellectual capabilities, he was a fine choice for School Captain. In truth, the current school captain was notorious for destroying order, and raged against the school in any way possible, despite his title. People simply followed him because he was the strongest, and the students feared him enough to listen to what he had to say. His name was Jordan Nash.
Assuaged by teachers' constant pushings and promises of peace ("If you become School Captain, no one will want to touch you. You'll be the top dog, no one would dream of trying to bring you down"), Darren, a sophomore at age 14, nearing the end of the year, casually approached Jordan outside of school one day. Jordan had heard about Darren, and already knew exactly why he was coming, thanks to the rumor mill that will always form around a high school. Not a word was spoken between the two, they both simply put up their dukes, so to speak, and battled.
It was a long, hard-fought battle, but in the end, even School Captain Jordan Nash couldn't find himself victorious, and Darren Blayne had become the new School Captain of Hircine High.
Thus began a series of rapid changes to the school. In a move predicted by none, instead of continuing to be the unassuming smart guy who happened to be the top fighter and just continue on his own path, Darren took his role as School Captain quite seriously. He began a series of reforms, starting by single-handedly eliminating some of the more rabble-rousing students, and before too long, he had calmed the raging Hircine High, making it a more peaceful place to live and learn. People now not only knew of his great fighting skills, but his great ability to lead as well, and he became one of the most respected Captains Hircine High had ever known.
The start of Senior Year draws upon him very quickly, however, and Darren has certainly not been deaf to the rumors. Supposedly, a new batch of students are being transferred to Hircine after a series of extremely chaotic incidents; a group of students that could easily spell trouble for the order that Darren has thus far instilled into the school...
Fighting Style: Darren uses a mostly kick-based fighting style that is heavily influenced by Tae Kwon Do, and to a slightly lesser extent, Muay Thai. However, Darren has not studied either of the arts, but with his superior intellect, has managed to break them down to a fundamental level and use their atmospheres in his own style. As such, his style can sometimes come across as unorthodox. Many times, even, Darren will lean so heavily toward kicks that he will not even use his hands in battle, keeping them out only for balance purposes. This, however, does not mean in the slightest that his hands are weak or lacking. One key note about Darren's fighting style, however, is his ruthlessness. He stops at nothing to defeat his rival, and will pull no punches (or kicks, as the case may be) to do so. Even so, he still remains as calm and unphased as ever during it all.
Strengths: Quick and extremely smart. Darren got to his position by being able to out-think and out-fight everyone else in Hircine High, and it shows. While not some kind of speed freak, Darren is fast enough and quick enough to dodge most any blow thrown his way, and can block many attacks, so long as they are not thrown with absolute full force. All in all, he is quite a brilliant and deadly fighter, even with his hands not being used.
Weaknesses: Conversely, his biggest weaknesses, physically, are his strength and durability. Being rather light for his height, Darren, though he can block attacks should he desire, can not take too many full-on blows at all before he has to call it quits. His stamina is also only slightly above mediocre at best. He can fight for a fairly extended period of time, but after that, he'll start to tire rapidly.
Psychologically, Darren also has a few more weaknesses that could be exploited. Darren is smart and deadly, yes, but he knows this all too well. This gives him a certain confidence in himself and his abilities that could lead to an overestimation of himself. Also, with all the new ex-Varron students, Darren finds himself suddenly in a sea of new fish, so to speak, and has aboslutely no idea how any of them fight, or work, in general, leaving him at a great disadvantage.
Note: Yes, I have full permission from the Administrator of this board to be Hircine High's School Captain. You Varron kids can't just come aboard and set up total shop here, you know.
