Eyes – Azure
Hair – Ebony
Clothing – ( See Appearance. )
Nationality – Second-generation Japanese-American
Build – Slender, yet toned.
Fighting Style – The use of hands and feet, most often, though she has been known to toy with a few broomsticks in place of a bo staff. Kira has no set style, as she has not been formally taught in the arts of fighting. However, she is rather creative with her moves, using her surroundings to her advantage. So, because she has not been taught by any professional, she lacks skills to fight totally efficiently. She has, however, a unique ability to nearly discern a person’s movement before they actually attack, and she tries often to enhance it, due to her lack of fighting skills.
Personality – Exasperatingly cheerful one moment, and yet boiling in anger the next, Kira is a rather quirky person. Despite her sometimes cocky behaviour, she can be soft-spoken and quiet. It all depends on her current state of mind. Some of her rather odd mood swings can be attributed to the fact that she gets lost rather easily; more so in new buildings and spaces than anywhere else. Despite her volatile nature, she is rather soft-hearted, and at times can be perceived as being weak, which in turn sparks her anger again. Due to some events that have taken place at the Academy, Kira had tried to repress her jumping emotions. It worked for a short amount of time, but she soon found out it was just as taxing – if not more – than just being herself. She’s not someone who likes to fight at all, but will if provoked. Kira tends to judge people; but her judgement can be swayed by a person’s actions and manner, because when people judge others, they tend to be wrong; and Kira isn’t one to stubbornly hold onto her judgements of others. In her time at Varron, this aspect of herself has been altered. She finds herself not as judging as she used to be.
History – Ah yes, the life of someone born poor, for that is exactly what Kira was born into. Despite education, her parents had nothing more than low-pay jobs. It was enough for a roof over their heads, and food, clothing, and perhaps a few occasional toys, but nothing more. Certainly not allowing their only daughter to go to a high-class school. Kira, even at a young age, decided she would not want to face the conditions she was currently in; she would break free from this low rung on the social ladder.
It proved to be no easy task, especially on her esteem, and emotions. Gradually, she adjusted, becoming the person she is today; but not without trails. Earning the respect of her peers she hadn’t accomplished, despite her attempts. She was “too poor”, “too plain”, and many other things besides. However, she strived for good grades, managing to receive top marks in class. At times, there was a sense of amazement directed at her, but it would fade, to be replaced by the jibs directed at the studious students.
Becoming old enough, she picked up a part-time job, to help out a little at home, and perhaps even have a little for herself. But, along with the part-time job, came less time for other things. Surprisingly, her grades didn’t suffer, but her sleep did. She left junior high, and surprisingly, came to Varron. She quit her job, and managed to find one nearer to the school, in order to pay for her lodgings.
Since Coming to Varron – Since her first day at Varron, Kira had at first been the unknowing object of two particular people’s attention: Maverik and Leon. As cliché as it was, even the two potential-loves had no clue about their own rivalry over her hand and heart. After Leon’s hasty excuse to remove himself, Kira was taken for a night on the town by Maverik, where she met non other than Kokaku Musha, one of Mav’s closest friends – brother, as they would come to discover in due time. It was that night that Kira had been asked to play the piano, and Mav and Ko gave their own applause, despite her being out of practice.
However, even before that, she had been lost in the halls earlier only to meet three people: Jahova Kruschev, Katsu, and Ajax. The poor student had been frantically trying to find her classroom, being hopelessly lost and late, when she came upon Ajax, only to be crashed into by Jahova, with Katsu appearing shortly after. After that day, she’d met with the three of them several times, though their meetings were separate and the time distanced from each other.
After that, she has had many encounters with several people, quite a few of which had been able to raise her ire. From Ushanta to Xantos, and Carlos in-between, Kira has discovered that even though these people had meant no offence, somehow their personalities managed to drag the worst out of her. From what had started out to be her quiet time playing the piano, to the episode in Varron's Plaza number seven. Both those times she was calmed by Leon, and after the first she considered him a friend.
Even Maverik had a fair share of his time alone with Kira, inviting the naïve girl out for dinner on one occasion, where she found herself the protector that night when Maverik removed his sunglasses to show her just why he always wore them; some people had never seen such eyes before, and could only stare or whisper amongst themselves, the waiter – who Kira snapped at – was no exception.
Events placed in high regard for Kira have been both Leon’s "Departure" and Maverik’s "Revelations" episodes, both happening to take their toll upon the girl. Before his departure, Leon left her to safe-keep the Griever amulet he had received. Before leaving, Leon also explained a bit of his past, including his actual birth name: Alex Thompson Jr.
Maverik confessing his love for her right before leaving for Tokoyama to discover the skeletons in the closet and Leon’s re-opening of the wounds he received from his former love after returning on the same day Maverik left caused more than enough confusion and panic on Kira, who managed to help Leon to the hospital.
Truthfully, she still doesn’t know how he was able to hold on for so long; the amount of blood he lost seemed to be too much. However, quick work from a very skilled Doctor, a certain Jennifer Philanaski – someone quite familiar with Alex at his old home and school – Leon’s life was saved. Kira ended up waiting a good three days for him to wake after the surgery that saved his life. Upon his awakening that lasted more than a few seconds, Kira - who was dozing at a table in the hospital’s cafeteria - was jerked fully conscious by the beeping of the pager going off underneath her hands. Reading the message, Kira quickly made her way to the room where Leon was.
Upon her arrival, she was able to spend a few brief minutes before the room started to fill. However, it was the last person to arrive that caused the young woman a large amount of stress: Toshikuni Sekine. Unfortunately, at that time, Kira hadn’t had the chance to return the amulet to its rightful owner. Toshikuni, seeming to be ever-watchful despite the fact she barely knew him, spotted the Griever and immediately started to accuse her of being the one that brought about Jaina’s complete downfall by accepting the task of keeping the necklace and amulet. Of course, Kira fired back, the paper-thin patience she had once before ripping with ease under this new frustration. Fleeing the room, Kira found out not long after what Leon had done to his ally for insulting her before they moved off, Leon’s anxiousness to get away from the returning Doctor causing a moment’s tease from Kira before she left with her friend.
Months later, Maverik's return was noted. Kira, after working had been out wandering the streets, only to somehow be drawn to a single apartment building. Inside were Kokaku and Maverik, the former of whom was back to assassinate his mother. Their own pasts were revealed, and a brief interruption from Leon occurred before he left the two to their own devices, Kira stumbling in a few minutes later. Maverik, having been agonized upon the floor by his mother’s soft-spoken words, turned to Kira, asking yet again if she felt the same way for him. She responded truthfully, still being unsure of what her heart longed for. After accepting this somewhat, he passed out, leaving Kira and Kokaku to take him back to his apartment, where Kira found herself a most shocking sight: every surface was littered with sleeping medication of every sort.
It was in the morning though, after making a stop to Maverik’s house to see if he was alright, she found the bed to be empty: just as empty as his apartment seemed. Upon her arrival at the school, to which the weather had suddenly turned nasty, Kira fled up to the roof. Rumours pointed in that direction, some of the students able to break from their classes and teachers scrambling to keep them in order. Doggedly pushing her way up, Kira soon found herself a ‘front row seat’ to Maverik and Kazuki’s fight. The clash of the school’s elite brought forth Maverik’s second disappearance: Kazuki having kicked him from the roof. After Kira managed to push her way through the students lining the staircase and rushing outside, she confronted Kazuki, even going so far as to strike at him.
Maverik was nowhere to be found. However, there was one unknown person there: a small Asian man, who handed both herself and Kazuki two letters each. Kira held her own and Leon’s, and Kazuki his own and Kokaku’s. Chasing after Leon, Kira handed over his own letter, before making her way slowly home in the rain. Once there, she’d opened the letter, finding the words something that oddly comforted and left her with a confused storm of emotion. Soon after, she fell asleep, only to wind up in a dreamscape of her own.
Another shock that came afterwards was finding out Jahova's feelings for herself, though she’d been absent from his life for a long time. It seems there would be three hunters of Kira’s heart.
Time Rolls On... - Since then, things had never been quite the same. Kira fell back into the normal routine of work, school, and long nights that were rarely filled with sleep. One day would change that: the day that Marcus Lawson, a person she wouldn’t meet until after the event, had blown up the school. Kira was caught in the blast, and it just so happened that Maverik made a timely return to left away the debris that locked her inside the crumbling school. After handing her off to Leon, he quickly disappeared, leaving the others to wonder if it really had been him at all. Kira, however, faded in and out of consciousness, and Leon and another saviour of hers, Dain, had finally gotten out of the rubble of the school, to send her to the hospital for her own recovery.
She suffered from a severe concussion, broken ribs, and a broken wrist, as well as a temporary case of amnesia. Later that night, after she had stabilized somewhat, but still being placed in the ICU ward, Kira found a surprise in the form of Maverik, who had scaled the hospital walls. Maverik, trying to be gentle and coaxing her memory to come back, had taken her first kiss after she found out she needed surgery and was frightened. It wasn’t a fear that seemed to have any foundations; she merely knew she was afraid.
Leon had tried to stop by as well, but had been intercepted by his favourite doctor, who bluntly stated he would not be allowed visiting rights. However, the kind doctor promised to give Kira a single red rose and keep the other eleven, and had administered some pain-killers to give Kira mild relief on her long night before her operation to mend her wrist.
Days later found Kira out and about, pushing herself to see just where she stood with her energy. This led her to the ceremony for those that had died in the explosions. She signed the guestbook and started to inspect the damage done onto the school, tads of memories coming back as she gazed at the walls. After watching the confrontation of Marcus with Maverik, she found herself being jostled rather painfully by Shuya, who seemed to show little remorse for the act, even going so far as to tell her to watch were she was going. Afterwards, though, she followed the enigmatic Hikari who trailed after Marcus, Maverik going with her at Leon’s suggestion, though she knew that he would have followed anyway.
A few weeks after the incident, Kira found that Leon needed to talk, and so she walked once again to what seemed to be their favourite meeting place: The Plaza. Here it was discovered that the hopeful friend and fellow student had found someone that seemed to be like his previous love, but different completely. It was there as well that she found something her heart was not so glad to see: a dropped present to her from Maverik.
From then on, Kira had become involved with many things, one of which being to manage Kazuki, Kokaku, and Maverik’s band. Upon one lucky night, they were discovered by a music producer. What might come out of this? Who knows?
The crafty young lady had been plotting a Christmas get-together for awhile, proving to be a warm occasion, with friends and acquaintances alike. Despite her mild protests, several people brought her gifts, or cards. Each one, she would treasure for as long as she would be able to.
